As we close out 2025, we're cutting through the noise of New Year buzzwords, resolutions, and manifestation trends. While the desire for change is real and valid, lasting growth doesn't come from forcing goals....it comes from a regulated nervous system that can actually hold them.In this episode, we explore why so many New Year promises fall apart, how our nervous system influences what we can create and sustain, and why internal healing is the foundation for meaningful change. This conversation is an invitation to slow down, soften the pressure, and approach the new year from a place of capacity rather than urgency. In this episode, we cover:Why buzzwords and trends don't create lasting changeThe nervous system's role in goal-setting and manifestationWhy we keep buying into New Year promises, and why they failWhat it means to “hold” the life you're asking forHow regulation creates sustainable growthA gentler, more embodied approach to entering the new yearThis episode is for you if:You're tired of forcing goals that don't stickYou want real change without burnoutYou feel called to slow down and do things differentlyYou're ready to create from a regulated, grounded placeClosing Thought:You don't need to become someone new.....you need to become resourced enough to be who you already are.Thank You to Our Show SponsorsWe'd like to take a moment to thank the sponsors who help make this podcast possible. In this episode of Takeaway Chinese, we continue to break down the hottest Chinese internet slang you really need to know—what they mean, where they come from, and how people actually use them in daily life! On the show: Niu Honglin & Steve. (02:20) 邪修 (xié xiū): an unorthodox way of doing something that actually works. (08:53) A基础 (jī chǔ), B就不基础 (jiù bù jī chǔ): A is basic, simple, ordinary, or standard — but B definitely isn't.
SummaryIn this episode, Chase and Chris dive into your top questions from the week — and the answers might surprise you. They talk about what really happens when you're under-eating for days, whether it's possible to build muscle and lose fat at the same time, and if eating things like pickles is really “too much sodium.”They also cover how much muscle actually increases strength (hint: it's not as simple as it sounds) and who really needs to work out twice a day. If you've ever felt confused by mixed messages in the fitness world, this Q&A episode will clear things up in a real, no-BS way.Chapters(00:00) GLP-1 Buzzwords and BS Marketing Tactics(08:26) What Happens If You Undereat for Days?(11:10) Can You Burn Fat and Build Muscle at the Same Time?(16:33) Are Pickles Bad for You? Ihr seid bei On the Way to New Work, heute mit Katharina Krenz.
New Work galt als Zukunft der Arbeit: Mehr Freiheit.
- «AI in the Loop»: Assistenz statt Automatisierung, Verantwortung bleibt beim Menschen. Do you agree that the language of young people is a language of its own? Online buzzwords are more than just trends—they capture how a generation thinks, jokes, and reacts to the world. In this episode of Takeaway Chinese, we dive into the hottest Chinese buzzwords of 2025 and what they reveal about today's society. On the show: Niu Honglin & Steve. (06:25) From pre-made dishes to even a pre-made life… one word says it all. (10:06) As humanoid robots and service robots become part of everyday life, a new word rises with them.

After 20 years of prescribing hormone replacement therapy to tens of thousands of patients, both in her clinic and through her telemedicine company Menrva, I have identified the critical gaps in how HRT is being prescribed, monitored, and optimized across the United States. This isn't about "should you" do hormones. This is about how to do them right. In this episode,I break down the 10 non-negotiables you need to know if you're considering HRT, currently on HRT, or feeling like your current protocol isn't working. From the biochemistry of bioidentical vs. synthetic hormones to why your gut health determines how well your estrogen gets metabolized, this is the master class your doctor should have given you, but didn't. We're talking about natural bioidentical hormones, the truth behind the Women's Health Initiative (spoiler: it was about Premarin and synthetic progestins, NOT bioidentical estrogen), and how to use precision medicine to guide YOUR hormone replacement therapy, not a one-size-fits-all protocol that leaves 50% of women undertreated and 25% overtreated. Julia and Eliza are back in the stu for a deep dive into hostile architecture, unpacking the spikes, slopes, bars, and billion-dollar "design choices" that quietly shape our cities and public spaces. Some conversations feel scripted. This one… absolutely did not. Larry Robbins walked in ready to talk life, passion, family, culture, workholding, philosophy, and whatever else popped into his head — and somehow it all connected back to manufacturing. This episode of MakingChips is one of the most unhinged, hilarious, honest, and wisdom-packed conversations we've ever recorded. Larry has been in the industry for nearly 46 years, and he's collected enough stories, scars, and laughs for ten careers. From his father dragging him into the business ("long hair doesn't work here") to his famous explanation that SMW makes "magic hands," Larry blends humor and experience into lessons every shop owner needs to hear. His passion for the industry is unmatched — and his candor is even better. Throughout the episode, the crew dives into culture, leadership, lying (don't), modularity, flexibility, high-density workholding, predictable setups, financing equipment, and why you should stop crawling across a dollar to pick up a dime. In this episode of The Nonprofit Exchange, I had the pleasure of speaking with Dr. Pierre Berestrain, the incoming CEO of Safe Alliance in Austin, Texas. Safe Alliance is a leading organization dedicated to supporting survivors of domestic and sexual violence, as well as sex trafficking. Pierre's journey from being an undocumented immigrant from Peru to a prominent leader in the nonprofit sector has profoundly shaped his understanding of systems, power, and community care. We delved into the concept of "Leading Beyond the Buzzwords," exploring what real systems change looks like in the nonprofit sector. Pierre emphasized that while program improvements address symptoms of social issues, true systems change requires a deeper examination of the root causes and the policies that perpetuate these problems. He highlighted the importance of integrating community wisdom into our approaches and the need for a mindset shift in how we view prevention and intervention. Pierre also discussed the significance of dignity-centered and collective leadership, stressing that effective leadership is about creating conditions where staff can thrive and feel joy in their work. He shared insights on the power of storytelling in shaping cultural narratives around issues like gender-based violence and immigration, illustrating how narratives can either reinforce or disrupt harmful systems. Collaboration emerged as a key theme, with Pierre noting that successful partnerships between nonprofits, government, and communities are built on trust, humility, and shared stewardship. He provided a compelling example of how Safe Alliance is working with the city of Austin to transform a hotel into an emergency shelter for survivors, showcasing the potential for civic engagement and investment in community well-being. As we wrapped up our conversation, Pierre expressed his hope for the future, highlighting a shift in community perspectives towards safety and belonging. He believes that by focusing on building a supportive ecosystem, we can create conditions where individuals can live full, connected, and flourishing lives. This episode is a call to action for leaders in the nonprofit sector to engage deeply, listen intentionally, and lead with courage, as we work together to transform lives and communities. #NonprofitExchange #SystemsChange #Storytelling #Collaboration #Leadership #SafeAlliance Learn more about your ad choices. Host Cindi Koetzle welcomes David Ly, CEO and Founder of Iveda, for a practical conversation on how AI is moving from buzzword to business-critical tool in HR, learning, and operations. Drawing on more than two decades in AI-powered video and vision technology, David explains why AI is suddenly “everywhere” now—affordable computing power, accessible interfaces, and off-the-shelf solutions—despite having been in the background of our lives for years in tools like streaming recommendations and automated data organization. He and Cindi explore how AI can transform onboarding and training by using video, computer vision, and augmented reality to capture best practices from tenured employees, provide real-time guidance to new hires, and act as a “force multiplier” for coaches and trainers. They also tackle employee concerns about job loss, reframing AI as a shift in roles rather than a replacement for humans, and discuss how better training, fewer errors, and faster support ultimately improve customer experience and ROI.
"Ist dieser Film faschistisch? Feministisch? Davor hat 1966 Susan Sontag in ihrem berühmten Essay "Against Interpretation" schon gewarnt.

In this episode, we delve into the growing use of the term "intellectualizing" in coaching and healing spaces by exposing how this buzzword, along with concepts like "somatics," is often wielded to make individuals question their healing journey and to promote programs or solutions that promise transformation. We explore why understanding the real reasons behind intellectualizing is key to challenge the notion that analyzing trauma is inherently wrong or blocking true healing, and how genuine progress comes from breaking old patterns, not just adopting the latest healing trends. Tune in for a thought-provoking look at what it really means to heal, and why the answers may not be found in the most popular advice. Do you say your math program prioritizes critical thinking, but struggle to see it in action across classrooms? Many districts include critical thinking as part of their math vision. It is a powerful goal and one that prepares students to engage with complex ideas and make thoughtful decisions. However, teams often lack a shared and practical definition of what critical thinking looks like during math learning. In this episode, we reflect on a powerful moment from the documentary Counted Out. We also explore how beliefs, systems, and instructional choices can either support or limit the development of critical thinking in math classrooms. If your school or district is working toward greater coherence in your math instruction, this episode offers a meaningful opportunity to pause, reflect, and consider your next steps.Listeners will:Hear how one real classroom brought math-based critical thinking to life through meaningful dialogue and reflection.Learn why unclear definitions of “critical thinking” create misalignment across teams.Discover practical starting points — like focusing on metacognition — that help build coherence without overwhelming teachers.Press play to rethink what critical thinking in math actually means — and why it matters more than ever. Not sure what matters most when designing math improvement plans? Teens today live at the intersection of real mental health risks and viral misused language like gaslighting, narcissism, and DID. On this episode of The Brainy Moms podcast, Dr. Amy sat down with children's therapist Stacy Schaffer to unpack how parents can support mental health without turning every rough patch into a diagnosis. Stacy shares the story behind her new book and the core idea that guides her work: integrate tough histories into practical, present-day tools so kids feel seen, safe, and capable. We dig into the messy middle of modern childhood—where TikTok trends meet group-chat drama and where grooming, exclusion, and “subtle” cruelty often fly under the bullying radar. Stacy offers concrete steps for delaying social platforms, keeping an open pulse on online connections, and having frank, age-appropriate talks about consent, safety, and the law. We also explore why framing therapy as a gift changes everything, and how to invite teens into the process so they feel respected rather than “sent.”A big theme is language. Words like trauma, gaslighting, narcissist, and DID carry weight and meaning; when they get stretched to cover discomfort or disagreement, everyone loses clarity. Stacy walks us through what those terms actually mean, when they apply, and how to teach kids a simple 1–10 scale that builds perspective without dismissing pain. We also clarify dissociation versus dissociative identity disorder and offer scripts that keep compassion high while holding responsibility steady: “You're in charge of all your parts.”Along the way, we talk about modeling healthy conflict at home, building emotion regulation, and helping kids collect “data” from hard moments they survived. If you've wondered how to respond when your teen throws out a buzzword, how to know when it's time for counseling, or how to keep kids safer online, this conversation delivers calm, clear guidance you can use today.About Stacy SchafferStacy Schaffer is a Licensed Professional Counselor with over twenty years of experience helping children, teens, and young adults navigate emotional and behavioral challenges. Based in Arvada, Colorado, she is the founder and director of Stacy Schaffer Counseling and specializes in both grief therapy and Synergetic Play Therapy. Her extensive training includes a Master's Degree in Professional Counseling from Ottawa University, a Graduate Diploma in Christian Counseling from Phoenix Seminary, and certifications in Synergetic Play Therapy and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing). In this Buzzword Breakdown episode, Kristen and Mike tackle one of the most talked-about—and misunderstood—concepts in modern leadership: servant leadership. But here's the twist: Mike admits he actually hates the term. What follows is a candid conversation about why this popular leadership philosophy makes us uncomfortable, why the language we use around leadership matters more than we think, and how some leaders use this term to avoid accountability. The discussion explores the problematic history behind the word "servant," unpacks what it actually means to put your team first without losing yourself in the process, and addresses common myths like confusing servant leadership with being passive. Kristen breaks down the original concept and shares practical ways to practice this approach without the cringe factor, so listeners can learn how to lead with humility and support their teams without becoming a doormat—or worse, a leader who talks the talk but doesn't walk the walk.Highlights:Why Mike finds the term "servant leadership" uncomfortable and how it's misappropriated by leaders who avoid true coaching and accountabilityThe problematic etymology of "servant" and its roots in slavery—why leadership language mattersRobert Greenleaf's 1970 concept: the best leaders measure success by the growth and wellbeing they inspire in others, not by powerCommon myths about servant leadership, including confusing it with being passive or overly self-sacrificingLarry Spears' ten characteristics: listening, empathy, healing, awareness, persuasion, conceptualization, foresight, stewardship, commitment to growth, and building communityHow servant leadership differs from transformational leadership (inspiring change) and transactional leadership (exchanges and rewards)Key criticisms: risk of burnout, boundary issues, challenges in crisis situations, and performative use without follow-throughPractical integration: shift from "I fix things" to "I create conditions for others to thrive" and lead with curiosity, not correctionMike recommends Colonel David Hackworth's "About Face" as an example of putting your team first under extreme circumstancesSimple action step: ask your team "What's one thing I can do to make your job easier this week?" and follow throughLinks & Resources Mentioned:Larry C. In this episode, Joe Nucci explores what it means to go beyond the buzzwords and how to talk about mental health without losing its meaning. He explains how mental health language has become less useful as it's gained popularity, and how clinical terms meant for specific purposes have drifted into everyday speech until they describe everything, and therefore, nothing. The words we use create the world we see, and once you start viewing yourself through a diagnostic lens, it can be hard to see in any other way. One of the most powerful takeaways from this conversation is that the value of a psychological term lies not only in its accuracy, but in its usefulness, and sometimes the language we use builds a cage instead of offering clarity. Exciting News!!! Coming in March, 2026, my new book, How a Little Becomes a Lot: The Art of Small Changes for a More Meaningful Life is now available for pre-orders! The importance of accurate mental health diagnoses and their clinical usefulness. The balance between clinical accuracy and practical application in mental health discussions. The complexities of people pleasing and its underlying motivations. The overuse and misapplication of the term “trauma” in contemporary discourse.
