Trish Regan reports in today’s live show that Disney is expected to see ABC News anchor George Stephanopolous to the door. A long time fixture at the network, the former Clinton aide is reportedly leaving ABC News this summer. It all comes as Disney reviews its business - including its ABC News division. Meanwhile, what’s the deal with big media wanting to take over independents? Fox apparently wants part of the action and has targeted the company that sells the podcasts of former Fox News talents Megyn Kelly, Tucker Carlson and Bill O’Reilly. The company that sells their podcasts, Red Seat Ventures, was just acquired by the conservative network as it attempts to gain a foothold in the digital media space. And - breaking news out of FEMA. Employees that were involved with the recent $59 million reported payment to NYC hotels are being fired. Join Trish Regan LIVE for those stories and more! www.commsolutionsmn.com- What is going on with the DFL? They've done gone lost their minds. There are three different seats up for grabs. A State Senator in Minneapolis passed away, and there will be a special election for the seat. The primary is on January 14th, with the special election on January 28th. There was a one-day filing period. Most of the time, there's a couple of weeks. What's the rush? DFL candidate Curtis Johnson (40B - Roseville) won an election, and then was found to not meet the residency requirements. Curtis wasn't not allowed to hold the seat, giving the Republicans a 67-66 temporary edge. In the race down in Shakopee, DFL candidate, Brad Tabke won his race by 14 votes... except that there are 20 ballots missing. Of course the Democrats are all ok with these missing ballots and call any kind of a re-vote as election interference, although when the vote goes against them, every vote must be counted. It's hypocrisy at its worst. Speaking of "the worst", we have seen the mainstream media continue to lie about Donald Trump. George Stephanopolous and ABC settled with Donald Trump for falsely accusing him of being a "rapist" ten times. Did ABC punish old George? Of course not! The corporate bosses have a story to tell, and the truth can't get in the way. CBS has been under fire for cutting content out of an interview with Vice President and then-presidential candidate, Kamala Harris. CBS says that it was done for time, but they were caught posting two answers to the same question. So that caused many to believe that CBS was hiding something on her behalf. What is the solution to a mainstream media in the Democrat's pocket? Are their days of influence behind them? Let us know what you think!

KCRW's Left, Right & Center

Earlier this month, Disney reached a settlement with President-elect Donald Trump's defamation case against ABC News. ABC News will pay $15 million to Trump after anchor George Stephanopolous made an on air claim that Trump had been found civilly liable for rape. Trump was in actuality, found liable for sexual abuse. Shortly after, Trump also sued a local Iowa newspaper and pollster Ann Selzer for reporting Kamala Harris had a large lead in the days leading up to the election. Trump's back to back lawsuits raise concern over free press under his second term administration. Could these cases open the door for more lawsuits against media in the future? With 2025 right around the corner, the Left, Right, and Center panel takes a retrospective at the biggest stories of 2024. Believe it or not, there was an election in November! The electorate swung right. There are drones over New Jersey. The divisions between the elites and working class grew larger. Full Hour | In today's second hour, Dom welcomes Tiffany Justice, co-founder of Moms for Liberty, back onto the Dom Giordano Program to tell what her organization is doing to protect children as Biden's changes to Title IX make their way into Pennsylvania public schools. The new changes, which bars ‘discrimination based on gender identity' would create an unfair playing field for biological females, allowing individuals born male to both compete against and use the same locker rooms as those born female. Justice is proud to report that, after multiple lawsuits, Pennsylvania schools that feature parents who are members of her organization will be protected against these changes, protecting young girls and their Title IX and First Amendment rights. Then, Dom delves into developments surrounding the upcoming presidential election, playing back some audio of Representative Byron Donalds who got into a heated argument over the weekend with ABC's George Stephanopolous. Dom uses this audio to launch a discussion about the role of identity politics in the election, noting why engaging in these tactics are only an eventual loser for Republican candidates. Also, in Dan Time with Dom, Producer Dan offers a Pennsylvania Supreme Court case that may help Dom in his search to find answers about a rogue golf shot that left an enormous bruise on his arm. We hear from Dr. Thaer Ahmad, a Palestinian American doctor who spent time in Gaza trying to administer to a civilian population under relentless siege. Plus, Constitutional scholar, Bruce Fein, takes apart the Supreme Court's decision to grant the president of the United States the powers of a king. Dr. Thaer Ahmad is a Palestinian-American emergency physician who has made numerous relief trips to Gaza. Dr. Ahmad is Assistant Program Director for the Emergency Medicine Residency Program at Chicago's Advocate Christ Medical Center. He also serves as the Global Health Director and Medical Ethics Director for the Emergency Department at Advocate Christ. Dr. Ahmad is a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Illinois at Chicago and a board member for MedGlobal, a medical humanitarian NGO that works at building healthcare capacity and reducing health inequities globally.I don't think [Palestinian healthcare workers] get enough credit for what they've had to deal with over these last several months… These doctors are also displaced. Their families are displaced. They are living out of tents and they are showing up every day at the hospital to treat the community that's there. They've not been paid—the health ministry collapsed—they have no money. They're totally dependent on the scarce aid that gets in. These doctors are showing up to work when they should be in line at the bakeries that are producing some of the bread—where they should be in line collecting some of the aid that's being distributed. But they're showing up.Dr. Thaer AhmadI work with MedGlobal. They're doing fantastic work on the ground. They're in Gaza—more than 110 physicians and nurses who are Gazans are running medical points throughout the Gaza Strip. They have a malnutrition center that they're also using to help with the starvation that we were talking about. So I think that that's an excellent organization to contribute to—medglobal.org .Dr. Thaer AhmadBruce Fein is a Constitutional scholar and an expert on international law.  Mr. Fein was Associate Deputy Attorney General under Ronald Reagan and he is the author of Constitutional Peril: The Life and Death Struggle for Our Constitution and Democracy, and American Empire: Before the Fall.[On Trump v. United States]: The court gave nothing more than the equivalent of, “We know when it's not immune when we see it, but otherwise you try to guess what that's going to be.”Bruce FeinIt's a judicial counter-revolution. It's a violation because it basically turns the Constitution into a scrap of paper—it means whatever the Justices want it to mean. It doesn't have to find even a single word in the Constitution to justify the opinion.Bruce FeinIt's really a judicial coup d'etat that occurred on July 1, 2024. It's hard to fathom the belief that these six judges think they're going to get away with it. There is going to be all kinds of damage to all kinds of people—regardless of their political labels—and there's going to be a big pushback. Do they think they're going to get away with it? These unelected, lifetime-position judges?Ralph NaderNews 7/10/24 In Case You Haven't Heard with Francesco DeSantis1. Haaretz reports that in the immediate wake of the October 7th attack, the Israeli Defense Forces implemented the ominously named “Hannibal directive” which “directs the use of force to prevent soldiers being taken into captivity.” In other words, the explicit order of the Israeli military was for Israelis to kill Israeli soldiers to prevent them from being taken hostage by Hamas, in order to deny the group leverage in negotiations. As Haaretz reports, this directive also put civilian lives at risk. The Hannibal Directive had been a secretive but official Israeli policy since the 1986 capture of three soldiers by Hezbollah in Lebanon, but was formally revoked in 2016. 2. Lancet, the prestigious British medical journal, has published a study estimating that as many as 186,000 people have been killed in Gaza as a direct or indirect result of the genocidal Israeli military campaign. This casualty count, far higher than the commonly cited figure of under 40,000, supports estimates offered by advocates. If accurate, this would mean Israel has wiped out nearly 8% of the total population of the Gaza Strip.  3. Due to previous legal entanglements, the United Autoworkers union is subject to a consent decree with the federal government. Included within this consent decree is a federal monitor assigned to the union. Yet, the Detroit News reports that this monitor, Neil Barofsky, went far beyond his mandate to pressure the union over its position on the crisis in Gaza. According to this report, following UAW's official call for ceasefire, Barofsky called UAW president Shawn Fain to share his “concerns” about the union's position. Later, Barofsky signed off on an email which included an ADL complaint about the union's call for a ceasefire. Benjamin Dictor, outside counsel for the UAW, wrote to Barofsky saying “Your call to President Fain on an issue so blatantly outside of the Monitor's jurisdiction was inappropriate…[and] represents a surprising lack of integrity.”   4. More misbehavior from the ADL is on display in a recent expose from the Guardian. According to this report, based on a leaked internal memo from 2020, “the ADL collected information on a Black Indianapolis activist, Tatjana Rebelle, who worked on Deadly Exchange, a national campaign against an ADL-backed program to send US police officials for training with the Israeli military.” Rebelle is quoted in this piece saying “It scared the s**t out of me…It stopped me from moving forward because I don't want to put people in my life at risk – I work with youth, so it stopped me in my tracks.” The ADL calls itself the “leading anti-hate organization in the world,” with a straight face. 5. AP reports Boeing has taken the deal offered by the Department of Justice, and will “will plead guilty to a criminal fraud charge stemming from two crashes of 737 Max jetliners that killed 346 people.” The plea deal, which must still be approved by a federal judge, dictates that Boeing must pay an additional $243.6 million fine and submit to independent monitor-ship for three years, among other provisions. Ike Riffel, whose sons Melvin and Bennett died in the Ethiopian Airlines crash, is quoted saying “Boeing has paid fines many a time…When people start going to prison, that's when you are going to see a change.” 6. President Biden shows no intention of stepping aside as the Democratic nominee. This is despite open calls from prominent Democratic lawmakers, such as Jerrold Nadler and Adam Schiff, as well as a full-blown revolt from major Democratic donors like Abigail Disney. Recent polls show Biden losing most swing states by a substantial margin, including an AARP poll in Wisconsin showing him running 12 points behind Democratic Senator Tammy Baldwin. Infuriating many of those who wish to avoid a second Trump term, Axios reports “President Biden indicated…[in his interview with George Stephanopolous] that he would be at peace if he lost to former President Trump ‘as long as I gave it my all.'” 7. Hurricane Beryl is ravaging Texas, leaving millions without power, according to CNN. This widespread power outage will only compound an incoming heatwave, with the Houston heat index reaching 100 degrees on Tuesday. Las Vegas hit a record high temperature of 120 degrees the same day, per Fox 5. As many have remarked, this is likely to be the coldest summer for the rest of our lives. 8. The Daily Beast reports the Pope has excommunicated Carlo Maria Vigano, an ultra-conservative archbishop who served as the Vatican's ecclesiastical diplomat to Washington from 2011 to 2016. A long time opponent of Pope Francis, Vigano has become increasingly unhinged in his criticisms, including accusing the supreme pontiff of being a “servant of Satan.” Other wild claims he has made in recent years include retweeting a Marjorie Taylor Greene post stating that  “The Covid vaccines are killing people,” and calling Black Lives Matter protests the machinations of “the children of darkness.” Vigano was accused of schism and found guilty.  9. In the United Kingdom, the New Arab reports five pro-Gaza independent candidates won seats in the House of Commons, including Shockat Adam, who defeated shadow Cabinet minister Jonathan Ashworth. Most prominent of these however is Left-wing luminary and former Labour Party leader Jeremy Corbyn, who successfully defended his seat in Islington North after being expelled from the Labour Party over his criticism of Israel. Reuters reports that upon his victory, Corbyn said voters are “looking for a government that on the world stage will search for peace, not war.”  10. Finally, beating all expectations, the French Left emerged victorious from the second round of legislative elections. The New Popular Front lead by Jean-Luc Mélenchon, won the most seats, followed by Macron's centrist bloc, after the two formed a “Republican Front” to defeat the Far-right, led by Marine Le Pen. Now, negotiations are underway to choose the country's next Prime Minister, according to France24. Mélenchon has campaigned on a very simple platform, stating “I'm not saying we will create a paradise from one day to the next, but we will put an end to hell.” This has been Francesco DeSantis, with In Case You Haven't Heard.   Get full access to Ralph Nader Radio Hour at www.ralphnaderradiohour.com/subscribe

Wade Draft Opinion The Supreme Court released a report stating that, after a months-long internal investigation, the leaker of a draft opinion overturning Roe v. Wade last year couldn’t be identified. The leak shattered the image of the Supreme Court, which has long prided itself on maintaining proper decorum and on keeping as confidential the deliberations of the justices in cases argued before the court. The day after the leak, Chief Justice John Roberts said there would be an investigation. But despite his assurances, the unprecedented leak reportedly caused internal disruptions at the court and changed the atmosphere behind-the-scenes while giving rise to rampant speculation about the motives of the leaker or leakers. Some said the leak was intended to generate a public backlash that would intimidate the conservative justices into leaving Roe intact, while others speculated that it was calculated to pressure the conservative justices, who had already signaled a willingness to reverse Roe, to stay the course and actually do it. Supreme Court justices, including Justice Samuel Alito, who wrote both the draft and published versions of the opinion, previously described the leak of the document as a “grave betrayal.” In recent months, various justices said an update on the progress of the investigation was coming, but no updates followed until the formal release of the report. The leak was followed by months of raucous protests at the homes of the conservative justices in Maryland and Virginia, targeted harassment of justices in public by left-wing activists, and angry words in Congress. One man was arrested and charged with plotting to kill Justice Brett Kavanaugh. The report (pdf) on Supreme Court Marshal Gail Curley’s investigation was issued midday on Jan. 19. The Supreme Court ruled on June 24, 2022, in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization that there’s no constitutional right to abortion, overturning Roe v. Wade, the 1973 precedent that legalized abortion nationwide. The Dobbs ruling returned the regulation of abortion to the states. Five conservative justices voted to reverse Roe. Roberts, also considered a conservative, voted to uphold the restrictive Mississippi abortion law in question but wrote that he wouldn’t have overturned Roe. Three liberal justices issued a strongly worded joint dissent. Somehow, an early version of the draft majority opinion in Dobbs made its way to the media, a first-of-its-kind leak of a full high court opinion. Politico published the draft document, dated Feb. 10, 2022, on May 2, 2022, without disclosing its source. In the end, the draft document wasn’t much different than the official published opinion. The investigation itself is continuing, according to the report. https://thepostmillennial.com/trump-probably-coming-back-to-twitter-gop-source?utm_campaign=64487 Trump 'probably coming back to Twitter' Former President Donald Trump is looking to return to Twitter and Facebook. Trump, whose account was reinstated following the purchasing of Twitter by Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk, has stuck to his own platform, Truth Social, despite his account's unsuspended status. A Republican with knowledge of private discussions on Trump's potential return to Twitter, who spoke with NBC News on condition of anonymity, said, "Trump is probably coming back to Twitter. It’s just a question of how and when. He’s been talking about it for weeks, but Trump speaks for Trump, so it’s anyone’s guess what he’ll do or say or when." Another person close to Trump told the outlet that Trump has sought input on his potential return to Twitter for weeks, and that his campaign advisors have been workshopping ideas for his first Tweet on the platform in over 2 years. Some Trump advisors said that the 2024 presidential hopeful could be limited in posting to other social media platforms since he founded Truth Social. A spokesman for Trump told NBC though that the campaign believes he would be able to return to Twitter as before. Trump was banished from the popular social media platform on January 8, 2021, two days after the Capitol riot on January 6. Trump previously said that he would not be returning to the platform and that he would stick to Truth Social. "Truth Social is through the roof," he said Talks of Trump's potential return to Twitter comes as Trump's campaign has petitioned for his Facebook account to be reinstated, as the account nears the end of it's two-year suspension. The Facebook ban, enacted on January 7, 2021, was for an initial period of two years, after which it would come up for review. https://thepostmillennial.com/breaking-alec-baldwin-to-be-charged-with-involuntary-manslaughter-in-fatal-rust-shooting?utm_campaign=64487 Alec Baldwin to be charged with involuntary manslaughter in fatal Rust shooting On Thursday, prosecutors announced that they will charge Alec Baldwin and armorer Hannah Gutierrez-Reed with two counts each of involuntary manslaughter in the fatal shooting of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins on Baldwin’s Rust set. The announcement of the charge comes over two years after Alec Baldwin shot and killed 42-year-old cinematographer Halyna Hutchins and injured director Joel Souza with a live round from a prop gun. According to CBS News National Correspondent Kris Van Cleve, Assistant Director David Hall "has signed a plea agreement for the charge of negligent use of a deadly weapon. The terms include a suspended sentence and six months probation." No charges were filed in connection to the shooting of Rust director Joel Souza, who was injured but survived. In a statement from New Mexico First Judicial District Attorney Mary Carmack-Altwies, she stated that her office will file criminal charges against the two by the end of the month. Involuntary manslaughter is a fourth-degree felony in the state of New Mexico, and carries an 18-month jail sentence and a $5,000 fine. Carmack-Altwies noted that "The other charge is involuntary manslaughter in the commission of a lawful act," which is also a fourth-degree felony carrying the same sentencing. In 2021, Baldwin had said in an interview with George Stephanopolous that he "didn’t pull the trigger," but a later FBI analysis concluded that he did in fact pull the trigger. It was found that the prop gun had been loaded with live rounds, and that the gun had misfired multiple times leading up to the fatal shooting. In April of 2022, New Mexico’s Occupational Health and Safety Bureau fined Rust Movie Productions $136,793, the maximum possible fine. The bureau also reportedly issued a "scathing narrative of safety failures in violation of standard industry protocols," which included testimony that the production’s managers took little to no action to address two previous misfires leading up to the fatal October shooting. They also documented numerous gun safety complaints brought forth by crew members that they say went unnoticed, and said that weapons specialists were not allowed to make decisions regarding additional safety training. The production’s head armorer, Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, had previously had a number of complaints lodged against her in regard to concerns over her careless handling of weapons. Gutierrez-Reed and her assistants had also been allegedly been playing with weapons on the set of Rust. Hutchins had reportedly been advocating for safer conditions for her team. In November of 2022, Baldwin launched a lawsuit against several crew members of the film for reckless and dereliction of duty. The suit named Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, the chief armorer, Assistant Director Dave Halls, Prop Master Sarah Zachry and Seth Kenney, the gun supplier. The previous month, Baldwin settled with Hutchins’ family in a wrongful death suit. As part of the agreement, Matthew Hutchins, Halyna’s widower, will act as an executive producer when the film resumes production. In October 2022, it was revealed that Rust would resume production in January, but the production would not resume in New Mexico, according to Variety. https://www.foxnews.com/lifestyle/sister-andre-worlds-oldest-person-dies-118 Sister André, world's oldest person, dies at age 118 Lucile Randon, the French nun who was the world's oldest living person and the oldest person to survive COVID-19, died in her sleep on Tuesday, Jan. 17, at the Sainte-Catherine-Laboure nursing home in the town of Toulon. Randon was less than a month away from celebrating her 119th birthday, multiple outlets reported. Born on Feb. 11, 1904, Randon worked as a teacher, governess and child care provider before becoming a Catholic nun in 1944. After becoming a nun, Randon took the name "Sr. André." Randon was declared to be the "oldest person living (female)" and "overall oldest person living" following the death of 119-year-old Kane Tanaka of Japan on April 19, 2022, according to Guinness World Records. During her life, Randon spent nearly 30 years working with orphans and the elderly at a hospital in Vichy Randon told Guinness World Records that she enjoyed eating chocolate and other sweets as a "guilty pleasure" and had a glass of wine each day. She also credited her long life to hard work, telling French media in 2022 that she worked until she was 108 years old. Randon was what's known as a "supercentenarian" — someone who lives over the age of 110. The world's eight verified oldest living people are all women, according to the Gerontology Research Group's website. Microsoft said Wednesday that it’s letting go of 10,000 employees, which will reduce the company’s headcount by less than 5%. Amazon also began a fresh round of job cuts that are expected to eliminate more than 18,000 employees and become the largest workforce reduction in the e-retailer’s 28-year history. The layoffs come in a period of slowing growth, higher interest rates to battle inflation, and fears of a possible recession next year. Here are some of the major cuts in the tech industry so far. All numbers are approximations based on filings, public statements and media reports: Microsoft: 10,000 jobs cut Microsoft is reducing 10,000 workers through March 31 as the software maker braces for slower revenue growth. The company also is taking a $1.2 billion charge. “I’m confident that Microsoft will emerge from this stronger and more competitive,” CEO Satya Nadella announced in a memo to employees that was posted on the company website Wednesday. Some employees will find out this week if they’re losing their jobs, he wrote. Amazon: 18,000 jobs cut Earlier this month, Amazon CEO Andy Jassy said the company was planning to lay off more than 18,000 employees, primarily in its human resources and stores divisions. It came after Amazon said in November it was looking to cut staff, including in its devices and recruiting organizations. CNBC reported at the time that the company was looking to lay off about 10,000 employees. Amazon went on a hiring spree during the Covid-19 pandemic. The company’s global workforce swelled to more than 1.6 million by the end of 2021, up from 798,000 in the fourth quarter of 2019. Salesforce: 7,000 jobs cut Salesforce is cutting 10% of its personnel and reducing some office space as part of a restructuring plan, the company announced Jan. 4. It employed more than 79,000 workers as of December. In a letter to employees, co-CEO Marc Benioff said customers have been more “measured” in their purchasing decisions given the challenging macroeconomic environment, which led Salesforce to make the “very difficult decision” to lay off workers. Salesforce said it will record charges of $1 billion to $1.4 billion related to the headcount reductions, and $450 million to $650 million related to the office space reductions. Meta: 11,000 jobs cut Facebook parent Meta announced its most significant round of layoffs ever in November. The company said it plans to eliminate 13% of its staff, which amounts to more than 11,000 employees. Meta ’s disappointing guidance for the fourth quarter of 2022 wiped out one-fourth of the company’s market cap and pushed the stock to its lowest level since 2016. The tech giant’s cuts come after it expanded headcount by about 60% during the pandemic. The business has been hurt by competition from rivals such as TikTok, a broad slowdown in online ad spending and challenges from Apple’s iOS changes. Twitter: 3,700 jobs cut Shortly after closing his $44 billion purchase of Twitter in late October, new owner Elon Musk cut around 3,700 Twitter employees, according to internal communications viewed by CNBC. That’s about half the staff. Since then, significantly more employees have quit after Musk changed some policies around working from home and wrote that he expected all employees to commit to a “hardcore” work environment. In a tweet on Nov. 4, Musk said there was “no choice” but to lay off employees as the company was losing $4 million per day. https://www.boundingintosports.com/2023/01/philadelphia-flyers-ivan-provorov-stands-by-his-faith-refuses-to-wear-lgbtq-pride-night-jersey/ Philadelphia Flyers’ Ivan Provorov Stands By His Faith, Refuses To Wear LGBTQ+ Pride Night Jersey During the recent match between the Philadelphia Flyers and the Anaheim Ducks, one member of the Flyers did not wear the Pride Night themed rainbow warmup jersey meant to show support for the LGBTQ+ movement. Four of the top eight were born in Japan, three were born in the United States, one was born in France and one was born in Brazil. https://www.cnbc.com/2023/01/18/tech-layoffs-microsoft-amazon-meta-others-have-cut-more-than-60000.html Microsoft, Amazon and other tech companies have laid off more than 60,000 employees in the last year The job cuts in tech land are piling up, as companies that led the 10-year bull market adapt to a new reality. Mar 17, 2021: Biden Dishes on Filibuster, Dumps on Cuomo

Welcome to Majority.FM's AM QUICKIE! Brought to you by justcoffee.coop TODAY'S HEADLINES: Joe Biden speaks directly to the press on one of the first occasions of his presidency, and drops a couple big lines, including support for quote “reforming” the filibuster and an admission that Andrew Cuomo could be on the way out. Meanwhile, other Democrats continue to embarrass themselves, as new reports allege that Dianne Feinstein’s husband is trying to nepotism his way into an ambassadorship under Biden, though the 87-year-old California Senator insists she’ll keep her seat either way. And lastly, the GOP continues its assault on voting rights around the country, leaning heavily on bogus allegations of voter fraud, despite widespread evidence that it just doesn’t happen. THESE ARE THE STORIES YOU NEED TO KNOW: Joe Biden sat down with ABC’s George Stephanopolous on Tuesday night for one of the first major interviews of his presidency, and delivered a couple key quotes that could have big ramifications for his party’s future. First, Biden indicated that he supports changing the Senate filibuster rule, a big hangup that has plagued the Democratic party’s ability to enact his agenda. Still, Biden, a long time Senator, did not say he wants to completely abolish the filibuster, instead saying that the Senate should go back to the talking filibuster, where a Senator who wanted to delay a vote had to stand and speak for as long as possible. Even this change has Mitch McConnell scared, as he vowed to take a quote “scorched earth” endquote strategy if Democrats touch the filibuster. That wasn’t all from Biden on Tuesday night though. He also weighed in on the allegations against New York Governor and Democratic rising star Andrew Cuomo, saying that the governor should resign if the investigation into his conduct finds that the multiple allegations of sexual harassment and assault against him are true. Biden added quote “I think he'll probably end up being prosecuted, too." endquote. Doesn’t look good for old Andy’s long-term prospects as a Democratic leader there! Biden plans to follow this one-on-one with a full news conference on Thursday. Dems Hope Nepotism Can Solve Feinstein Problem Meanwhile, 87-year-old senator Dianne Feinstein still has no plans to retire, even as her husband tries to glad-hand his way into an overseas posting as one of Joe Biden’s ambassadors. Pressure has mounted for Feinstein to retire for years in the hope that a younger and ideally more progressive Senator could take one of California’s two safely-blue seats. The reason is pretty simple: Feinstein is clearly not as sharp as she once was, which the party has pretty openly hinted at. She was asked to step down from her ranking position on the Judiciary committee after putting on an insipid, pandering performance during the Amy Coney Barrett confirmation hearings. The party is also eager to replace Feinstein with a black woman, as the Senate has precisely zero members who fit that demographic now that Kamala Harris is sitting in the VP’s office. The New York Times reports that the Democrats are hoping Biden will solve that problem for them by handing Feinstein’s husband Richard Blum, a wealthy investor and long time friend of the president. The hope is that if Blum takes an overseas vanity post, he’ll take Feinstein with him and away from the Senate. But in comments to reporters this week, Feinstein insisted she would serve out the rest of her term, which lasts until 2025. But hey, maybe in this case a little nepotism will go a long way. GOP Leans Into Voter Fraud The GOP is once again putting out an absolute onslaught of bills aimed at stripping the right to vote from millions of Americans. Their reasoning is very simple: when more people vote, the Republicans lose. To stop that happening, they’re trying to weaponize any skewed advantage they can get in the courts and legislatures to make sure that fewer people exercise their right. In Texas alone, NBC News reports that there are more than two dozen restrictive voting bills currently going through the GOP-controlled legislature. Many of them take aim at the spooky specter of so-called voter fraud, which is a scare tactic designed to make people think the Democrats steal elections. In reality, the Houston Chronical reports that Texas’s Attorney General’s office spent a combined 22,000 hours looking for voter fraud in the 2020 election and found just 16 cases of a false address being registered. There are 17 million voters in Texas. Some of the more insidious bills specifically target voters Republicans know they can’t win over. One strategy they’re using is to try to limit the hours polling places can be open for early voting or standardize the hours across the state, which data shows would help turnout in smaller, rural communities and hurt it in the busy urban areas. That’s a pretty obvious one right there. It’s worth noting that this is going on all over the country. Republicans have tried ploys like this in Georgia, Florida, and all over the South -- wherever they’ve got control of a state, voting rights are going to suffer. AND NOW FOR SOME QUICKER QUICKIES: A new U.S. intelligence report finds that, surprise! Both Russia and Iran tried to influence the 2020 election, but China, remarkably, did not. We’ll see how various interests in D.C.’s foreign policy blob try to weaponize this information. Moderna announced that it will begin testing its vaccine on children under the age of 12, enlisting over 6,000 volunteers in the U.S. and Canada, which could give crucially missing data on how effective and safe the vaccine is in young children. In Texas, Pete Buttigieg’s Department of Transportation made a crucial judgement to pause one of the state’s most notoriously racist highway expansion projects, which would have displaced over 1,000 predominantly minority households and subjected thousands of others to increased pollution and potential flooding. The Washington Post reports that House Democrats are expected to re-introduce a Medicare For All bill into the House today, renewing their push despite the ambivalence of the Biden administration. More than 100 representatives are expected to put their names on the Bill. President Biden has been busy during his first week in office. The President has signed over 30 executive orders during that time. By comparison, President Trump signed 4 during his first week in office, President Obama just 5. You might wonder how that could be given that, just this October, Biden told George Stephanopolous “you can't legislate by executive order unless you're a dictator.” Despite criticizing Trump for being a dictator, that appears to be exactly how Biden is acting. Biden recently signed an executive order to stop the Keystone XL Pipeline project and the 11,000 jobs it supports. Wisconsin based companies Michaels Corporation and Precision Pipeline are building the Keystone pipeline, or should I say, were building the pipeline and now with the President's decision, according to the companies, thousands of Wisconsin jobs will disappear and billions of dollars in economic activity. If this any indication of how President Biden is going to govern, the American worker and the economy are in for a rough ride.

[00:30] Militant Media (11 minutes) The Democrat media complex continues to call for Trump supporters to be blotted out. Now that Joebama is in control of the government, how far will the purge go? [11:00] Unity, or Else (10 minutes) Communist dictators would be proud of Joe Biden’s plan to unite America. Instead of meeting the 75 million Trump voters in the middle, Biden’s administration would rather muzzle them from being heard. Once the dissent is eliminated, the remaining Americans will be united! [21:00] Obvious Fraud (26 minutes) In a heated exchange with former Clinton aide George Stephanopolous, Sen. Rand Paul argues that there was rampant fraud in the Nov. 3, 2020, presidential election. So far, courts have rejected all attempts to present this evidence, dismissing cases on procedural issues. How long will it take for the voter fraud evidence to finally have its day in court? [47:00] COVID Shift (8 minutes) Now that Joe Biden is “president,” Democrat leaders across America have toned down the great COVID-19 panic. Governors are lifting restrictions and businesses are being allowed to open back up. This is shocking considering the number of positive cases in America are at an all-time high. It shows how politicized the lockdowns were from the very beginning.

Welcome to Majority.FM's AM QUICKIE! Brought to you by justcoffee.coop TODAY'S HEADLINES: The daily coronavirus death toll is climbing in thirty states, and Anthony Fauci says it might be a good idea to cancel Thanksgiving. You didn’t feel like cooking anyway, did you? Meanwhile, two staff close to Kamala Harris have tested positive for coronavirus. And Joe Biden made a thoughtful contrast to Donald Trump in last night’s head-to-head TV town halls. And lastly, YouTube joins Twitter and Facebook in cracking down on Q-Anon conspiracy theorists. The disinformation machines are going into overdrive ahead of the election. THESE ARE THE STORIES YOU NEED TO KNOW: Coronavirus cases are surging across the northern hemisphere, and public health experts are warning that the worst is yet to come. In Europe, authorities are imposing another round of curfews and restrictions. And in the United States, the lack of a coordinated response is pushing the country toward a third peak in new case numbers. The New York Times reports that seventeen states are seeing surges unlike anything they experienced earlier in the pandemic. States including Alaska, Minnesota, Montana and Wisconsin reported more new cases during the seven-day stretch that ended on Wednesday than in any other week since the virus arrived in the country. Reports of new cases are trending upward in forty one states over the last two weeks, while nine states are holding case numbers roughly steady. No state in the country is seeing a sustained decline. According to the Associated Press, the biggest surges in the Midwest and Great Plains, where resistance to wearing masks and observing other social distancing practices has been running high. Deaths per day are climbing in thirty states. Doctor Peter Hotez, an infectious-disease specialist at the Baylor College of Medicine in Texas, told the AP that the three months following the November 3rd presidential election could prove especially damaging when it comes to fighting the virus. Hotez said QUOTE We haven’t had much of a national strategy to begin with... People are going to be worried, scared and feeling abandoned by the federal government ENDQUOTE. Doctor Anthony Fauci, the federal government’s point man on the coronavirus, said Americans may have to bite the bullet and cancel their plans for a big family Thanksgiving this year. Any gathering involving out-of-state travel or mingling with elderly relatives is especially discouraged. Sorry grandma, but it’s for your own good. Harris aides catch coronavirus One month after setting an election fundraising record, Joe Biden has done it again. The Biden campaign revealed it brought in $383 million last month, CBS News reports, up from the $365 million raised in August. September’s total included contributions from 1.1 million new donors, bringing the number of contributors to the campaign to 5.5 million. There was a setback yesterday, however. Democratic Vice Presidential nominee Kamala Harris suspended in-person campaigning through Sunday after two people who were traveling with her tested positive for the coronavirus. One person who tested positive was a flight crew member. The other was Harris’s communications director, Liz Allen. Harris and her husband both tested negative yesterday. Biden himself appeared live last night from the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia for an ABC News town hall moderated by George Stephanopolous. Biden stuck mostly to describing his moderate policies in detail and trotting out a litany of supporting statistics. Donald Trump staged a competing town hall from Miami for NBC News. Before the event, Trump dissed the network and boasted about the free airtime for his campaign. Then during it he endorsed Q-Anon conspiracy theorists as an anti-pedophilia group and said he was unsure if Democrats were a satanic cult. The competing town halls were scheduled after Trump pulled out of the second presidential debate following his coronavirus infection. YouTube bans QAnon propaganda YouTube took action yesterday to ban more conspiracy theory-promoting channels and videos – specifically Q-Anon and Pizzagate. Yesterday on its blog, the company said QUOTE we are taking another step in our efforts to curb hate and harassment by removing more conspiracy theory content used to justify real- world violence ENDQUOTE. The new rules prohibit content that threatens or harrasses someone by suggesting they are complicit in one of these harmful conspiracies. A number of popular accounts were swiftly removed shortly after the announcement, the Washington Post reported. Twitter and Facebook have already taken steps to ban Q-Anon from their platforms, so YouTube is something of a Johnny-Come-Lately. Also this week, Twitter removed a small network of fake accounts purportedly belonging to Black supporters of Donald Trump. One of the fake accounts claimed to be a married US Marine with three children who was a newly converted Republican. It had more than eighteen thousand followers before being suspended. Separately, both Facebook and Twitter took steps to limit readership of an article by the New York Post about alleged emails from Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden’s son Hunter. It’s rare for the social media companies to penalize a traditional media outlet. But the companies are worried about a leak of hacked and unverified documents that could help swing the November election, after taking criticism for not doing enough to fight the spread of misinformation in 2016. A little over-correction may be preferable to the status quo here. AND NOW FOR SOME QUICKER QUICKIES: Donald Trump yesterday boasted to a cheering crowd in Greenville, North Carolina, that federal agents last month summarily executed an anti-fascist criminal suspect from Portland, Oregon, named Michael Reinoehl. Trump has brought up Reinoehl’s killing before, but yesterday was the first time he said US Marshals made no attempt to apprehend Reinoehl before shooting him. As Trump said, QUOTE They knew who he was. They didn’t want to arrest him ENDQUOTE. Looks like America’s death squads are coming home. Reuters reports that record gun sales in the US this year are being driven in part by a surge in first-time buyers. Many are women, minorities and politically liberal buyers who once would not have considered gun ownership. Industry figures suggest 5 million people purchased firearms for the first time in the first seven months of this year, which is, as they say on the internet, very 2020. Six months after the complaints surfaced about working conditions in an Amazon call center in the Philippines, workers told NBC News things have only gotten worse. The subcontracted workers who answer customer calls for the Amazon Ring home alarm system are reportedly forced into QUOTE subhuman ENDQUOTE conditions where coronavirus spreads rapidly. They are speaking up despite a contractual confidentiality clause that threatens them with a fine equivalent to two years’ salary. Here you go, another reason not to buy one of those creepy surveillance cameras. A Brazilian senator allied to far-right President Jair Bolsonaro was caught hiding, uh, dirty money in his underwear during a corruption investigation, according to Agence France- Presse. In an attempt to conceal it from the police who were raiding his home, Chico Rodrigues reportedly stuffed the equivalent of $5,300 cash QUOTE between his buttocks ENDQUOTE. He claims to have done nothing wrong. Better luck next time, Chico. That’s all for the AM Quickie. Join us this afternoon on the Majority Report. Fr. Roger talked about going on his pilgrimage to the Holy Land over the past couple of weeks. He said his group was able to live the entire liturgical year, visiting the places related to Christ's life, and they lived the meteorological year, experiencing all kinds of weather from 80 degrees and sunny to snow. It was an opportunity for a life changing encounter with Jesus. Scot said his wife and son both agreed on how the trip changed them and said they will never look at the Scriptures the same way again. Fr. Roger was able to celebrate Mass in the holiest of holy places in Christ's tomb with Scot's son, Christian, assisting at the altar. Fr. Roger said Pope Benedict calls the Holy Land the Fifth Gospel because the very stones cry out the Word of God. He talks about his experience on the Sea of Galilee and being able to understand how the apostles would have reacted during the Storm on the Sea. Susan's nephew went on the pilgrimage with his family and they posted many of their photos online at . 2nd segment: This week the Mass. Catholic Conference testified at the State House on a bill proposed by a representative that would put into law what has been proposed by the assisted suicide ballot petition. “The Church reaches us that life itself is a gift from God. Life is to be cherished, nurtured, protected, and finally, cared for with the help of others unril the time of natural death - not self-administered death, not assisted death,” MCC executive director James Driscoll testified at the hearing. … “Terminally ill, dying patients should not be permitted to make or be encour-aged to make a choice that ends all choices. Terminally ill, dying patients do not need the so-called compassion that supports the idea that one is bener off dead,” Driscoll said. Greg said the testimony was a preview of the arguments about assisted suicide and was an opportunity to get those aired in public testimony. He said this bill had been advanced many times in the Legislature and never went anywhere, so proponents went ahead with the ballot initiative. While this hearing doesn't affect the ballot initiative, it offers a chance for education on this issue. Greg noted new information that came out that the Legislature has options to put an alternative version of the bill on the ballot or can put a statement on the ballot that shows their disapproval. Scot said the Secretary of State will be the one writing up the description of the ballot referendum and that will be important. Scot quoted Peter McNulty, assistant policy director for the Mass. Catholic Conference, who noted one of the flaws in the bill is its vague language. The Anchor has a story about the Archdiocese's efforts opposing this ballot initiative, including the website . Because the Diocese of Fall River hasn't yet started its educational initiative on this issue yet, Fr. Roger wanted to disseminate the information that people will be able to use to form their own hearts and minds and equip them with the arguments they will need to convince others. Scot said the next local story is the appointment of former vicar general Fr. Richard Erikson who has been appointed as pastor of Our Lady of Fatima in Sudbury, effective March 1. The parish has been without a pastor for about a month and at an event this past week, Fr. Rich was sharing his excitement at being appointed pastor for the first time. He had spent many years as an Air Force chaplain and currently serves as a brigadier general in the Air Force. Greg said Fr. Rich has often spoke of his desire to have a parish of his own to serve. Fr. Roger said he thinks it will be a tremendous joy for Fr. Rich to take what he has learned and all of his experience and focus to help sanctify the people of Sudbury. He expects it will be one of the most joyous times of Fr. Rich's life. Scot said even after five-plus years as vicar general, he always lead with a pastor's heart. Scot noted two other local stories, including the launch of the 2012 Catholic Appeal. The story in The Pilot includes reactions from parishioners in the parishes where Cardinal Seán and Msgr. Deeley launched the appeal in person. The other story concerns the launch of a new facility on the South Shore by Catholic Charities on Court Street in Brockton. For the first time, Catholic Charities will have a facility on the South Shore that is designed for their specific needs, as opposed to jerry-rigging a location. “Most importantly, today I want to thank our staff and volunteers here at Catholic Charities South who put their hearts and souls into the work we are called to do, each and every day each making a real difference in the lives of our neighbors in need,” she said, before inviting guests to tour the facility after the ceremony. “This space was designed to fit program needs, not the other way around. This is the first time we will be able to house all of our services under one roof,” Rambo said. … “Brockton in particular has a fairly large newcomer population, so there are a lot of folks who need to learn how to speak English, who are certainly very capable, and just need a little extra help to get jobs,” Rambo said. Scot outlined the many programs that are offered at the facility, including teaching parenting skills. According to the US Census, more than 28 percent of children in the city live below the poverty line. Scot noted that the food pantry here is unique in that they allow people to shop for themselves. Fr. Roger noted at this own food pantry helps give people some choices between, say, different kinds of juices or breads, which lends people some dignity and gives some people the very basic skill of food shopping for themselves. He told a story about helping a man who had just got out of jail after 15 years and was paralyzed at having to make choices because he hadn't been able to make any choices for himself in all that time. Greg said giving people a choice in their food builds up their human dignity. Scot said supporting food pantries during Lent is a good way of practicing almsgiving. 3rd segment: Scot said there are many stories in the Pilot and Anchor this week updating the fight for religious freedom. We have talked about it a lot, but there are new developments and this is one of the biggest issues of faith we have encountered as a Catholic people in our lifetimes. For us to be effective, everybody who is a member of any church needs to stand up. Fr. Roger's editorial this week says this is a new day and gives a chronology of the history of religious freedom. He said in the past the fight for religious freedom was primarily against ethnic prejudices. It's a new day for the Catholic Church and for truly religious believers in general in the United States. While the Church in the U.S. experienced discrimination in the past most notably during the Know Nothing era of the mid-19th century for the most part, this discrimination, despite its occasional mockery of Catholic beliefs, was fundamentally ethnic and anti-immigrant in its motivation. Once this rabid xenophobia passed and Catholics had the chance to demonstrate that they were good Americans hardworking, family-oriented, community-building, patriotic, and self-sacrificial citizens even those who may have had theological issues with Catholic teaching couldn't help but recognize how much Catholics and Catholic institutions contributed to the common good. From hospitals, to schools, to orphanages, to soup kitchens, to local St. Vincent de Paul chapters, to scores of other parochial, diocesan and national social work, Catholic individual and institutional charity justly won the respect and admiration of almost all Americans; proof-texting Protestants, hard-core hedonists, supercilious secularists and assiduous atheists alike all seemed to agree that the Church's charity was a cause for the common good that should be praised, protected, participated in and promoted. Those who opposed the Church's teachings generally agreed to disagree with the Church in those areas, while enthusiastically supporting all the Church does and continues to do for the poor through her institutional charity. The good the Church did far outweighed in their opinion the problems they had with Church doctrine. Fr. Roger thought back to the Clinton administration, which had many disagreements with the Church on several areas, but still recognized the good that the Church does and how important the Church's work is to America, especially for the poor. The good the Church does, far outweighs the problems they had with the Church's doctrine. That has all changed with the Obama administration. They are saying that they would rather shut down the Church's agencies than tolerate Catholic beliefs. That happened in Massachusetts when Catholic Charities was forced to end adoption services because the Church didn't want to place children with homosexual or lesbian couples. Likewise with the Church's aid to trafficked persons, which the government required to include abortion and contraception services. Scot said the Church has been persecuted in terms of living our faith, but hadn't seen the distinction between the old persecution due to being immigrants, fear of foreigners. Now the attacks come because of how we live our faith, not how we pray. Greg agreed that religion in the past was just an identity marker, but now it's really aimed at what we believe and how we live. Scot noted that Cardinal Dolan and Cardinal George have warned that the Church will in fact call the Obama bluff and end important charitable services. Scot also recalled during the Republican presidential primary debates that George Stephanopolous had in fact laid the groundwork for using contraception as a wedge issue. He believes the Left has seen that they are failing to win hearts and minds on abortion, so they are turning to contraception to divide the Right. Fr. Roger said many people believed President Obama went he went to Notre Dame and said he would honor our religious consciences and sincerely held beliefs, but he has completely reversed himself on this. Cardinal Dolan said he went to the White House last November and was assured by the president that he wouldn't do anything to impede the good work of the Church and it turns out he lied. To top it all off, the White House has accused the bishops of lying about being consulted about the “compromise” offered by the White House. Fr. Roger ended his editorial: The first thing that we've all been learning is that, unbidden, the Church is now in a fight not of its making against members of an administration intent on using the power of government, in open defiance of the First Amendment, to compel the Church to act contrary to her teaching with regard to abortion, sterilization and contraception. This fight, as one commentator recently said, is not about contraception any more than the Revolutionary War was about tea. Anybody who wants contraception in this country can go to Target and buy a month's supply for $9. It's not exactly expensive and some groups even give it away for free. So what's going on here is that the Obama administration wants to stick it to the Church. It's not that we want people to use contraception, but the point is that it's obvious this is a power play. It's not about contraception; it's about religious freedom. Even if we agreed with the false statistics that 98% of Catholic women use birth control, this mandate could set a precedent for even more egregious impositions on religious freedom in the future. Scot said one of the things that make our country great is that the rights of the minority is protected. Separation of Church and state is supposed to prevent the government from telling us how to live our faith and practice our religion, not to prevent people from living their faith in the public square. There's a high burden of proof to say that our religious beliefs trample on the rights of others. The real issue is forcing people to pay for something that is abhorrent to them, when they can just go get it themselves. Those who have tried to claim the rights of their conscience are trampling on the conscience of others.
