Tune in here to this Tuesday's edition of the Brett Winterble Show! Brett kicks off the program by talking about America’s global dominance and the underappreciated strength of the United States in 2025. Highlighting the country’s share of global GDP and unmatched military capabilities, he emphasizes that the U.S. remains the “indispensable nation.” Drawing from a piece by Frank Rodriguez, Brett explores America’s cultural and technological leadership, while criticizing China as a “bandit country” that steals innovations rather than creates them. He contrasts this strength with what he views as the self-defeating narrative of Democrats, who, he claims, blame America for global issues. Brett also targets figures like Greta Thunberg, J.B. Pritzker, and John Bolton, calling them irrelevant or misguided, and mocks media figures such as Dana Bash and John King for their past takes on Middle East policy and Donald Trump’s influence. We're joined by Michael Whatley from North Carolina to talk about the recent breakthrough in the Middle East hostage crisis and the broader implications for U.S. leadership under President Trump. Whatley, a candidate for the U.S. Senate, praised Trump’s use of American strength and diplomacy to secure the release of hostages from Hamas, calling it “the most transformative presidential term of our lifetime.” He also criticized Democrats for refusing to give Trump credit, despite global acknowledgment of his role. The conversation touched on Whatley’s support for Trump, the Medal of Freedom awarded to Charlie Kirk, and the importance of strong leadership in facing domestic and international challenges. Whatley also addressed concerns over the potential Schumer-led government shutdown, emphasizing the need for a Republican Senate to advance the America First agenda. Bo Thompson from Good Morning BT is also here for this Tuesday's episode of Crossing the Streams. Brett and Bo talk about President Trump’s high-stakes trip to the Middle East and the successful release of 20 hostages—an event both call one of the most consequential moments of his presidency. They discuss the president’s energy, his deal-making prowess, and the behind-the-scenes efforts of key figures like Jared Kushner and Steve Whitcock. Bo also shares what he and the Good Morning BT team have coming up on tomorrow’s show, including an interview with Major General John Meyer about the recent Pentagon hack and national security concerns. In addition, Sean Flynn from the CRVA will join to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Bojangles Coliseum Listen here for all of this and more on The Brett Winterble Show! Tune in here to this Friday edition of the Brett Winterble Show! Brett kicks off the show with Pete Kaliner for this week’s Friday Hangover; they discuss the political fallout surrounding North Carolina’s newly passed “Iryna’s Law” and Attorney General Josh Stein’s evasive interview with CNN’s Dana Bash. Brett and Pete highlight Stein’s inability to take a firm stance on the bill, especially given its death penalty provision, and criticize what they see as weak Democratic messaging on crime and public safety. We're joined by Dr. John Lott from the Crime Prevention Research Center to talk about anti-Semitism and bias in crime reporting. a recent report from the Anti-Defamation League that claims all extremist murders from 2022 to 2024 are committed by right-wing individuals. He questions the report’s accuracy, pointing out that some attackers listed have left-wing views or don’t fit any clear political category. He highlights the Buffalo supermarket shooter, who calls himself an “eco-fascist,” and the Colorado Springs shooter, who identifies as transgender and a socialist. Despite this, the ADL labels them as right-wing. Dr. Lott argues that this is done for political reasons, not based on facts. He also explains how media outlets like CNN and NPR repeat this narrative without looking deeper. We're also joined by Joe Gruters, newly appointed Chairman of the Republican National Committee, to discuss his plans for the party and the upcoming 2026 elections. Chairman Gruters shares his vision for building on the momentum created under former chairman Michael Whatley, emphasizing voter registration, turnout, and election security as top priorities. He highlights the success of Florida’s Republican leadership and plans to apply that winning formula nationally. Gruters also discusses law and order, criticizing left-wing policies that he says have led to increased crime and instability, citing recent violent incidents as examples. He praises President Trump’s leadership on public safety and the economy and says strong messaging on issues like taxes, inflation, and border security will help Republicans expand their House majority and win key Senate races. Gruters also emphasizes the importance of supporting Michael Whatley’s Senate run in North Carolina, calling him “the right person at the right time.” Listen here for all of this and more on The Brett Winterble Show! Several callers also pitch in their opinion on why 201 is getting overcrowded, and what the city should do. Also on the show, Cracker Barrel is getting serious heat for rebranding their long-standing logo and revamping several dining rooms, Dana Bash fails at her own "gotcha" questions while interviewing Tim Burchett, and a new report shows 77% of Gen Z has their parents joining them during job interviews. On Monday's Mark Levin Show, the Democratic Party continues to strive to link President Trump to the Epstein case. Unfortunately, no details are being revealed because of the case's sensitive nature, not due to any attempt to hide information by Trump. It is impossible to force the grand jury to reveal this information, as that would infringe upon the privacy rights that are fundamental to every case during its jurisdiction. These so-called influencers are promoting the Epstein issue as a significant concern, yet a CNN poll conducted by Harry Enten shows that interest in the Epstein matter has waned considerably. in addition, we need to exercise extreme caution regarding whom we place our trust in moving forward, as there are numerous backstabbers, particularly when it involves attacking Trump. Rep Marjorie Taylor Greene serves as a prime example - many admired her, but the tables have turned as she is a deceitful and sleazy politician. Do we truly want individuals like her to represent us? Absolutely not. This is precisely why she is experiencing a significant decline in support due to her abhorrent actions, and yet she has the nerve to assert that she leads MAGA, which is utterly embarrassing. Also, Washington D.C is getting more dangerous. Just like in NYC and in California, crime is just as bad in Washington D.C.. Trump has a plan to help combat the crime that has been present and affecting the community. Moreover, individuals such as Sen Bernie Sanders pose a significant threat, and it is disheartening to see someone like Dana Bash fawning over Sanders, which is likely contributing to her declining ratings. Sanders endorses the actions of Nicolás Maduro in Venezuela, supports Zohran Mamdani's campaign for Mayor of NYC, and advocates for the erosion of our freedoms through Socialism and Marxism. Lastly, Benjamin Netanyahu isn't going to stop destroying Hamas, until Gaza is free of them. Netanyahu is determined to release all the hostages, and will not stop until they are all home and safe. Nearly a year ago, a Presidential debate between Donald Trump and Joe Biden, moderated by Jake Tapper and Dana Bash of CNN, began the end of Biden's bid for a second term. The President struggled to make points, complete sentences, and remember facts; he spoke in a raspy whisper. This was not the first time voters expressed concern about Biden's age, but his decline was shocking to many, and suddenly Trump seemed likely to win in a landslide. New reporting by Tapper and Thompson reveals that the debate was no fluke at all. In “How Joe Biden Handed the Presidency to Donald Trump” (an excerpt from their new book “Original Sin: President Biden's Decline, Its Cover-Up, and His Disastrous Choice to Run Again”), they lay out a case that the latter half of Biden's Presidency was carefully stage-managed by his top aides; Biden would often end the workday as early as four-thirty. “What [aides and] others would say is, ‘His decision-making was always fine.' The job of the President is not just decision-making. It's also communication,” Tapper tells David Remnick. “If you are a President . . . and you're not able to go into a room full of donors and speak extemporaneously for ten minutes, then there's something wrong. And that was happening in 2023.” Learn about your ad choices: dovetail.prx.org/ad-choices
