He was a finalist in the BBC New Comedy Awards in 2017 and he has written and starred (acted) in shorts for BBC3. In 2018 Jacob did a show called Howl at the Edinburgh Fringe which went down quite well. Bits of this went in to a stand up special called Jacob Hawley's Welcome to Britain for Radio 4 in May 2019. I think it is still available on iPlayer but I'm not 100% sure. He does a podcast called Jacob Hawley: On Drugs for BBC Sounds. It gets lots of listeners, Adam Deacon was on it and for a while it was 14th in the iTunes chart which is above Peter Crouch!Jacob did another show in Edinburgh in 2019 called Faliraki. Reviews were nice. The room was usually busy and always too hot. It was better than Howl. And its coming to a town near you soon! Maybe!

This week we chat to screenwriter and director Nicole Albarelli who's film To Dream is released today 18th December, about how she made the film in six days, Making a short film first but loosing her cinematographer and 1stAD the day before shooting and bringing in our host and DoP Andrew Rodger at the last minute. How she turned her 60 minutes short into a feature. Going to festivals, winning awards and then getting picked up by a distributor in Texas who wanted to release the film as a feature so they shot an extra day. Meaning they had made a feature film in 7 days in total. Shooting six or seven scenes a day in many locations made it a tough but very rewarding shoot We discuss working with actors and giving them a background and having them on set in character all the time. Intimacy on set and blocking the actors so they could maximise on the natural light working with Adam Deacon during his issues off set and how the lighting and the set design can bring something spectacular to something bleak. Rob Gronkowski had a very classless, quite obvious cheap shot on Tre White’s head that landed him a one game suspension after the news of Tre being in concussion protocol. Should the Bills players of retaliated, especially after being disrespected in the Saints game from Mark Ingram jumping into the stands multiple times? Again, the refs come back into play and call an unbiased, inconsistent game, made quite apparent after Gronkowski was not kicked off of the playing field.
