Also in today's podcast, a Kent woman who was misdiagnosed with a birth injury, has been praised in parliament for the work she's done to train midwives. A petition to save a First World War tank in Ashford Town Centre from being relocated has already reached more than 1,400 signatures. The armoured vehicle was gifted to the town in 1919 and has sat in St George's Square ever since. A Herne Bay man has completed a challenge to run from his local pub to the Eiffel Tower. 247 Another unscripted Sunday catch-up, and this time Roberto is behind the wheel of his new Mini Electric - loving every second of it - while Jon is still waiting for his Nissan to be returned after nine months in a dealership. Life is unfair. We cover a lot of ground this week, from a film you absolutely need to see to a battery technology that could change EVs forever.Today's conversation covers:•Jon's Nissan saga update - nine months since the car was towed for repairs and still no resolution; a surprise service appointment, a head mechanic who said things he definitely shouldn't have, and how filing a Financial Ombudsman case suddenly made Nissan very interested in picking up the phone•Mini Electric vs BMW M2 - Roberto drove the M2 to Sussex mid-week for speed and efficiency, but the car he keeps finding excuses to drive is the Mini; real-world range (150–170 miles), motorway behaviour, remote parking via phone, and why driving silently past school parents in idling Range Rovers is deeply satisfying•Project Hail Mary - both Roberto and Jon are evangelical about the Ryan Gosling sci-fi film; practical effects, an emotionally hopeful story, and why it might deserve a Best Adapted Screenplay Oscar nomination; Roberto's slightly dodgy viewing arrangement and why he booked Odeon tickets anyway to clear his conscience•Solid-state battery breakthrough - Finnish startup Donut Lab claims the holy grail: a battery with 400Wh/kg energy density (roughly double current lithium-ion), a potential 5–8 minute full charge, unlimited lifespan, and performance unaffected by heat or cold; if it works, this is the tipping point that makes petrol cars obsolete•Cheshire road trip in the Mini - Roberto is planning to drive the Mini Electric up to Rookery Hall and the Bentley factory visit on 18th May and film the whole thing as a road trip vlog; expect at least two charging stops and a revisit of the earlier road trip format•Books & tech - Jon has finished the Walter Isaacson Steve Jobs biography (spoiler: sad ending) and moved on to Adrian Tchaikovsky's Shards of Earth; the Lego Game Boy gets a playable upgrade via the BrickBoy Kickstarter mod; Jon is deep into Final Fantasy VII Integrade on the Nintendo Switch 2•James Bond - First Light & casting rumours - the IO Interactive Bond game (007: First Light) is roughly six weeks away and Roberto cannot wait, given IO's pedigree on the Hitman series; Louis Partridge (22) is being linked to the role of a younger, prequel-era Bond, and the lads debate whether the whole franchise is heading in a prequel direction while waiting for Denis Villeneuve to wrap Dune•Cinema vs streaming - films are leaving cinemas faster than ever, screens can't fit as many runs of longer films, and both agree Project Hail Mary deserves to be seen again on IMAX - which may well return later in the year

A school in Chatham has been placed in special measures by inspectors who found staff physically intervened with pupils. Ofsted found safeguarding measures at Wayfield Primary were not being met, and demanded urgent improvements be implemented. School bosses and the trust running it, say they take the report very seriously and have already been implementing a robust programme of improvement. Also in today's podcast, a father and son accused of murdering a four-year-old boy in a hit-and-run in Southfleet have been found not guilty. Peter Maughan was in a Ford Ranger which was "clipped at speed" by another vehicle on New Barn Road last June. Hear from a detective who reacted to the verdict outside court. We've been hearing from a business owner in Canterbury who's still unable to trade, days after a devastating fire nearby. The Odeon cinema in St George's Place caught alight last Saturday afternoon and we've been chatting to Louise Jones-Roberts who runs Tokyo Tea Rooms. Young people in Kent are being encouraged to show their love for nature by taking part in a hedge planting campaign. Tomorrow is being dubbed Hedgentines Day and is being celebrated with a planting event in Chislet near Canterbury as part of a joint project between the Campaign to Protect Rural England and Youngwilders. In sport, Chatham Town are getting ready for a big weekend - they're playing in the fifth round of the Women's FA Cup. They'll be the underdogs tomorrow as they take on WSL 2 side Birmingham City at St Andrew's. And, the Gillingham boss is looking for a response from his squad in this weekend's league two clash with Oldham Athletic.  The Gills suffered another defeat away at Chesterfield during the week - hear from Gareth Ainsworth. Tolstoj, Dostojevskij, Hemingway, Pasternak, Salinger... Jozef Banáš má dva vzory – je to ruský autor L.N.Tolstoj a francúzsky spisovateľ Honoré de Balzac. Prečo podľa neho klasika láka aj dnes? With a musical résumé spanning decades and featuring collaborations with Australian music royalty, he somehow manages to be both ubiquitous and humble in equal measure. In this intimate conversation, we discover how one of rock's busiest guitarists balances his creative life. When scrolling through Ashley's social media, the sheer volume of his musical commitments is exhausting—Hendrix tributes at Cherry Bar, Bowie celebrations at the Odeon, performances with The Church, Paul Kelly tours, and the list goes on. "I have to keep playing, otherwise you'll lose your touch," he explains with characteristic understatement, revealing the disciplined professional beneath the laid-back demeanor. Recently serving as music director for the John Lennon tribute "Give Peace a Chance," Ashley brings the same meticulous attention to coordinating others that he applies to his own musical endeavors. The most exciting revelation comes with discussion of "Alexandria Sunset," Ashley's first solo album in over a decade, where he plays and sings every note himself. "While I've got my faculties, I'll do a record where I can play everything on it," he says, explaining his approach to capturing songs when they're fresh rather than creating separate demos. Drawing inspiration from 60s and 70s rock, especially evident in his Donovan-influenced dreamy tracks, Ashley continues crafting music that feels simultaneously nostalgic and relevant. And in true Ashley Naylor fashion, he's simultaneously working on three separate album projects.Discover the music, methodology, and mindset of a guitarist whose relentless creativity and humble approach to collaboration have made him one of Australia's most respected musicians. Follow Ashley on social media and pre-order his new album through Bandcamp now. What has Ash Naylor been up to lately?  Let's find out!Get out when you can, support local music and I'll see you down the front!!Visit: ThatRadioChick.com.au

In episode #79, we discussed one of the best instrumental albums ever recorded. It is the Quarteto Novo's first and only album, released in 1967 via Odeon in Brazil. This album was fundamental in bringing Northeast folklore music to a national audience, sparsely blended with bebop jazz, bossa, folk, with cinematic arrangements and great musicianship. The quartet of percussionist Airto Moreira, guitarist Heraldo do Monte, bassist Theo de Barros and flutist/pianist Hermeto Pascoal deviated from conventional time signatures and created a very innovative sound not only in Brazil, but for the whole world. Quarteto Novo recently had its first vinyl reissue in 25 years by French new record label Jazzybelle. Follow our playlist on Spotify: Brazuca Sounds Podcast Soundtrack.
