THE WOMAN AND HER ALABASTER BOX-LESSONS IN GRATEFULNESSIn middle eastern culture, food and feasting were essential features. It was how family and friends fellowshipped, the welcome gesture to any visitor. It was the symbol of relaxation, hospitality, and generosity, and sometimes a show of affluence. The story in Luke chapter 7 describes one such occasion. Jesus was present as a guest. Being a desert region, sojourners would trek or ride donkeys' long distances through hot and dusty roads to reach their destination. By the time they arrived, their feet would be dirty and must be washed before they made their way into the house. The feet-washing exercise, though, was the job of the house's servants.Jesus was the special guest in the Pharisee's home, and merriment was in full gear. Just as everyone was lost in their mirth, then came into their midst a woman of "easy virtue." Gingerly bearing an alabaster box, she made straight to pour same on Jesus' feet. On citing her, silence and the sweet fragrance of the perfume engulfed the room. How did she get in? Who invited her, and what did she want? Not minding their gaze, she continued her mission, poured the entire content of an alabaster box on His feet, and wiped them with her hair. The occupants of the room were alarmed. What an audacious move! If Jesus was indeed a prophet, He should have known she did not qualify to be in their presence. Why would she waste such expensive perfume? A whole year's wage for dirty feet? What is a woman of loose virtue looking for in such an august gathering Pray tell, in their conceit, how would they imagine she had a noble cause and her deed was divinely orchestrated. Jesus was supposed to be a special guest of honour, yet, no one washed His feet before he came into the house. This woman did much more than washing feet; she anointed them. To think she was showing her heartfelt gratitude. Her "thank you" was meeting the Master's need and incurring the wrath of hypocrites. Amazing! Did she envisage the effect her actions would have? We can safely answer, no, she did not. Her life revealed that when our worship is from the heart and in gratitude to God for all He had done, we might just be etching our names and deeds in the tablets of history.Interestingly, the people who queried the woman's actions and Jesus' "no reaction" did so because she, by her action, exposed their hypocrisy. How did they know she was not worthy? Who made them judge? They were all feasting in the Pharisee's house and needed a saviour. Plus, the fellow who thought her generosity was wasteful, we are told, did not care about the poor; To think that men are quick to accuse others of what they are equally guilty of.Before we close this discourse, let us look at the age-long profession of prostitution. What is it about the trade? Why is it deemed a woman's bane? What happened to the men who engaged them? How should we label them? What makes the institution so ingrained in society? Is it the power that the men have over the women involved? Or the hold the women have over the men that patronise them?Could it be the freedom to do as they pleased? Why would anyone choose the profession? Could it be money, influence, lack of self-worth, or the sweetness of stolen waters? What exactly made prostitution an age-long profession? As for the woman in our story today: we do not know for sure what her trade was (Some thought she was a prostitute), but we do know that she was labelled a sinner by people who should wear a double badge of the same title.Pray tell, is one sin bigger than another? Did the scripture not say that all men have sinned and fallen short of God's glory? So, what is with the finger-pointing?

Mullen's mentorship. He shares his pivotal moment at 11, choosing America's Got Talent over a Belize trip, becoming a finalist and facing the lure of secular success.Despite giving glory to God on the show, he admits to running from his calling, wanting freedom to chase his own desires while still loving Jesus.[05:41] God Redeems Quintavius's Childhood ExperiencesQuintavius reveals how international fame from America's Got Talent was misused for self-interest, a pattern God is now redeeming for His glory.[5:41] Quintavious: “After I fully submitted to Him, got saved, filled the Holy Ghost again, He now has allowed me to redeem that he is redeemed again. Now I was on the national, international stage, and I am making his name great, and it's for the purpose of God.”He opens up about misunderstood spiritual gifts—like seeing visions—initially confusing them for demonic or medium-like experiences due to lack of guidance.A turning point came when he surrendered fully to Christ, allowing God to refine these gifts for prophetic ministry and deliverance of others.Reagan connects this to listeners, noting how God's protection kept Quintavius from darker paths, now using his platform to win souls.[20:50] Demonic Torment During Early YearsQuintavius claims to have had chilling encounters with demons in elementary and middle school, like beds shaking and hearing hoof-like footsteps, fueling a spirit of fear. The enemy exploited his ignorance, tormenting him with nightmares and voices urging harm, aiming to silence his future calling.Quintavius credits the Holy Spirit for guiding him to fast and pray—sometimes for weeks—leading to physical deliverance, like vomiting out demonic influences. He mentions influential figures like Alexander Pagani and his pastor Shelley Morrison, whose teachings and hugs broke spiritual chains.Dreams once filled with torment became tools of deliverance as he rejected demonic offers in sleep, waking up free by God's power.[32:54] Bringing His Spiritual Gifts to the World StageQuintavius reluctantly joined American Idol after receiving persistent invitations. He sang “Alabaster Box” for judges Katy Perry, Lionel Richie, and Luke Bryan. He felt the song was a powerful movement—Katy cried, Lionel claimed he felt God's presence, and Luke likened it to a baptism—shifting the show's atmosphere.Behind the scenes, revival broke out: crew members and contestants got saved, atheists turned to Christ, and the theme changed from gladiators to classmates.[37:38] Quintavious: “They literally started calling it revival. It was such a revival of the love of God and of the power of the Holy Ghost that people want to get more.”Quintavious' performances are on his Instagram, demonstrating how his worship visibly carried the Holy Spirit to impact thousands.[42:28] God's Permission, or God's Plan?Quintavius reflects on a misstep during American Idol; he chose a song God permitted but didn't ordain, learning that lawful actions aren't always in line with God's wishes.Despite the permission, not following God's exact plan halted his progression. He learned to prioritize precise obedience over rationalized choices.[49:19] Reagan: “God's opening doors, well, why? Because you've been faithful, you've screwed up. He's the God of second chances.”He shares how God still redeemed this, as a viral “12 Days of Christmas” video in December 2024 brought greater reach than the show, saving lives and opening doors.[52:53] Staying Faithful to God's Call TodayQuintavius stresses prayer, fasting, and staying rooted in Scripture to balance his dual presence in gospel and secular spheres, keeping his focus on God's assignment. He credits his local church community for grounding him, offering safety in counsel and keeping pride at bay as his influence grows.[53:31] Quintavious: “I stay faithful to my church community. Having a community around you is important, you know, the multitude of counsel, there is safety.”His mission bridges worlds, bringing salvation to both gospel artists who don't live it and secular folks unaware of Jesus, acting as a “secret agent” for the Kingdom.Quintavius envisions God deepening his intimacy with the Spirit and expanding his ministry globally, not just in industry fame but in soul-winning across nations. He sees himself growing as a leader in the body of Christ, shaped by ongoing lessons in manhood and stewardship of his gifts. His local church remains vital, providing covering and training—like casting out demons in outreach—keeping him humble and accountable.[1:00:49] Encouraging the LonelyQuintavius encourages trusting God over self, rejecting the lie of isolation. God has a community for everyone. He advises praying for revelation of that community, warning against the enemy's tactic to isolate and confuse through lack of guidance. The body of Christ is collective, not solitary, and finding a church or group stirs gifts and offers support.Reagan prays for Quintavius, asking for strategic discernment, protection, and boldness to spread the gospel worldwide through his voice.Quintavius requests prayer to steward his transition well, avoiding procrastination and aligning with God's will as his influence rises.About QuintaviousQuintavius Johnson is a worship and gospel singer, prophetic minister, and dynamic voice for God's Kingdom, celebrated for his powerful testimony and anointed performances. Rising to fame as a finalist on America's Got Talent at age 12, he later captivated audiences on American Idol in 2024, where his singing sparked revival and led souls to Christ. With a background rooted in church choirs and a family of singers, Quintavius discovered his spiritual gifts early, navigating demonic torment and prophetic visions that God has since redeemed for deliverance and global ministry. Now 23, Quintavius bridges the secular and gospel worlds, using platforms like his viral “12 Days of Christmas” video to spread hope and salvation. A faithful servant in his local church, he ministers through worship, intercession, and outreach, drawing from years of intimacy with the Holy Spirit to cast out demons and ignite faith. WAIT CONFERENCE 2025|| UNDERSTANDING WORSHIP BEYOND MUSIC|| SESSION 9|| CHIMDI M. OHAHUNA This is the ninth session of the WAIT Conference '25, we will continue deeper into the heart of worship! Discover what true worship truly entails as we build on the foundations laid in previous sessions and our anchor scripture is, Romans 12:1. In this session, we are shifting our focus to a powerful definition of worship: unashamedly pouring out our inner selves upon Jesus in a loving and affectionate way. Together, let us explore why so many Christians struggle with this level of devotion. We will uncover the spiritual battles outlined in Romans 8 that seek to distract us and hinder our complete surrender to Christ. This isn't just about religious activity; it's about heartfelt devotion – pouring out our whole being to the Lord. We will examine how devotion to anything other than Jesus, be it things or issues, becomes a distraction, a detour orchestrated by Satan. This is where the understanding of the “alabaster box” comes into play. Referencing the familiar story from Mark 14:3, we'll unpack the symbolism of the alabaster box as representing our own flesh. To truly worship, we must break this box, pouring out its costly contents (our very selves) upon Jesus. This isn't a one-time event but an ongoing process of surrender. This message challenges the notion of superficial devotion. While devotionals can be helpful, they pale in comparison to living a life devoted to Christ, a life where we lose ourselves to gain Him. This is dying to the flesh so that we can truly live for Christ. We will unpack what it truly means to have our “alabaster box shattered beyond repair” and how this leads to a holistic experience of worship that renders the devil's distractions powerless. This session also dispels the myth that God humbles the proud – instead, the Bible reveals He resists the proud by opposing their will. True worship is born out of a crushed flesh, not just the performance of religious rituals. Finally, we will connect the dots, revealing that the crushing of our alabaster box is not a brutal act, but one that is engendered by a spirit overflowing with the Word of God, a spirit that is made fuller than our flesh. It is in the crushing of our flesh that true, wholehearted worship is found. Tune in to discover the power of shattering your alabaster box and embrace a life of dedicated, passionate worship. This episode will challenge, equip, and inspire you to deeper devotion to Jesus. Key Themes Covered: • The meaning of true worship • The battles against distraction and detraction • The symbolism of the alabaster box • Dying to the flesh for a life in Christ • The role of God's Word in spiritual growth • The importance of a crushed flesh for true worship • Understanding why God resists the proud and how to live in humility Grace to you! Jesus is Lord.
The Alabaster BoxJewish leadership plots to kill Jesus and Mary anoints Jesus with oil for His burial. We are given this beautiful example of her extravagant worship that will be remembered for all time.
The alabaster box represented a lot of worth to Mary. Today that could mean a deep form of worship to us. She was willing to pour that out to Jesus. Are we willing to give a deep worship to Him....?

Starts with an admonition to those who apologize for taking up the offering or play on greed to get people to give. Goes into Paul's imperative to the Galatians, highlighting the grammar and individual Greek words to show the responsibility of those repeatedly receiving the Gospel to respond. Moves on to a picture of two different responses: that of the Pharisee versus the woman with the Alabaster Box. This shows that giving begins with the deposit of God's nature being engrafted in the heart. Ends with a call, for those who can, to respond. Do you know what Crashing a Party is? It is going to or going in a party without an invitation. It is like your next door neighbor having a cookout with a bunch of people over and the pool full of people and the coolers stocked with ice cold……..well, you know… And you just go and join in. Without an invite. You will probably get a few “looks” from the host but might end up with a burger and iced tea. Jesus was invited to a dinner party with a Pharisee named Simon. A local woman just dropped in, uninvited, and went straight to Jesus. She crashed the party. She was known as a sinner and possibly a prostitute. She began to wash his feet and put oil on him. The dinner host recoiled at the party crasher. What she got in return was forgiven. If you crash a party, crash it for the right reason. Getting to Jesus would be a good reason to crash it. This is a great look at how Jesus works.
