In this episode of Girl, You So Random, I had the pleasure of talking with Mia, a Baltimore-based comedian. Her dry humor explores the absurdities of family life, relationships, politics, and everything in between. As an anti-magnum condom activist and promoter of female infidelity (because her grandmothers were too), she brings a unique perspective to the stage. Mia has been featured at the Baltimore Comedy Festival, Black Girls Giggles Fest and venues along the east coast and south. Don't miss your chance to catch her sharp wit live.   IG: @miamusacomedy Tiktok: @mia.musa.comedy Vocals by: Dian Sentino @belifuna Follow me on IG @drhollysfunny

EP 105: CAnE Collective Clinton Jackson (CJ) Alexander, Aaron Joseph, and Ezra Allen started the CAnE Collective because they believed that there was something missing in the spirits industry. They noticed that there was a lack of understanding and education around one of their favorite spirits - rum. They set off on a mission to clarify the mysteries surrounding rum and utilizing their combined 46 years in the bar and hospitality industries, they began to do just through their creation of craft cocktails. The CAnE Collective has since developed into a consulting agency focused on helping spirit companies develop spirit marketing opportunities in the Washington Metropolitan area. What started as an educational platform for rum and cane-based spirits, quickly developed into a platform of education for combined collective professional working knowledge. CAnE became a means to show their passion and appreciation for all spirits.   Today, CAnE Collective is following through with their promise to create craft cocktails that highlight the spirits they represent by way of the CAnE Mixers. These mixers were created to bring the experience of craft bartending directly to people’s homes. Comedian Ivan Martin has produced over 200 Comedy Shows in the City of Baltimore. Black History Continues...  EP 103 Carl Scott Head of Content Players’ Tribune An audiophile by nature, Carl’s path to a career in media has been a circuitous one. After receiving a degree in Interactive Multimedia from Columbia College Chicago, Carl worked for several years designing, developing, and programming web features for a range of clients including Esquire, Elle, Christie’s auction house, Black Girls Rock!, International Masters Publishers, and ASCAP. In his spare time, he began contributing to a fledgling Chicago-based internet radio show at the invitation of a friend. As he began to expand and hone his audio and storytelling chops, he accepted an opportunity to work as a mobile facilitator with StoryCorps, the nationally-renowned oral history project featured regularly on National Public Radio. He packed his bags and travelled through a half-dozen states interviewing, recording and archiving the stories of everyday Americans. On this journey, he performed one of the final interviews with prize-winning historian John Hope Franklin, recorded not long before his untimely passing. After that fateful year, Carl went on to produce shows for Public Radio Exchange in conjunction with Black Public Media (FKA the National Black Programming Consortium), and wrote and produced three hour-long documentaries for New York Public Radio (WNYC/WQXR). In 2018 he teamed up with the award-winning film and theatre actor Harry Lennix to sound design Lennix’s directorial debut for the stage, A Small Oak Tree Runs Red.Currently Carl serves as Head of Content at The Players’ Tribune where he oversees all podcast and video and editorial written content for this new media sports company, a first-person athlete storytelling outlet founded by Hall of Fame baseball player, Derek Jeter. EP 101 Love & Corona ft Biz Jones & Ausar English  Biz Jones and Ausar English started Sunrise/Sunset Productions at the beginning of the pandemic in New York City. While already working together on a tv pilot, Biz approached Ausar with the idea to create a mini web series exploring the theme of making and maintaining relationships during social distancing.  And that was the birth of 'Love & Corona,' a romantic comedy about a young man and woman who match on a dating app right before the pandemic. The series followed them as they navigate their blossoming relationship during the age of social distance. It was shot vertical for IGTV, and each episode was a few minutes. www.sunrisesunsetproductions.com IG: sunrisesunsetproductions  youtube: sunrisesunsetproductions  FB: sunrisesunsetproductions Comedian Ivan Martin has produced over 200 Comedy Shows in the City of Baltimore.
