We recap the crazy week that was!! We kick off the podcast discussing the Detroit Lions being one win away from the Super Bowl. Why we feel the 49ers can be beat.[8:15] We preview the AFC Championship.[15:00] Why we are both scared of the Baltimore Ravens.[24:00] We talk Jim Harbaugh, why Rodney wanted to see Jim in Atlanta.[30:30] Is Doc Rivers really an upgrade in Milwaukee?[41:00] We end talking J. In the latest episode of Columbia House Party, hosts Jake Goldsbie and Blake Murphy are joined by basketball and culture writer Alex Wong (@steven_lebron, stevenlebron.com) to break down Lil Wayne's 2008 smash hit, Tha Carter III. At the very peak of his power as the self-proclaimed Best Rapper Alive, Lil Wayne goes way outside of the usual rap album construct to push himself and the listener creatively. There are some misses as a result, but Wayne's claim to be atop the game in that moment holds up well. Find out more about the long wait between Tha Carter II and III, Lil Wayne's impact on a number of hip-hop subgenres, and how Lil Wayne provided a pathway for artists controlling their music in the online era on this week's podcast. It's been a long time, we hate we left you. But now we got a new episode to step to! Nick and Jared hold things down again and kick things off with Complex's List of the Best Rapper Alive for 2022 and they have decided to name Sir 21 the Savage as that. The marauders have a problem with Complex naming him that considering that both Kendrick Lamar and Pusha T have had a better year than him. They name who was the better rapper of 2022 out of those three and give their takes on why 21 Savage was named that from the site. Next up, 50 Cent went onto Shaq's The Big Podcast with Shaq (January 24) and gave a take on Eminem having a more bigger and better impact on hip hop than Jay Z. We argue on who the better impact, who came out of the respective rapper's camp, and who has come the furthest from where they started. After that, Latto had an interview with Billboard (February 24) to touch base on her brief beef with Nicki Minaj a few months ago, and called it "disappointing" after the two went back and forth via Twitter over Latto's song "Big Energy" became nominated for a Grammy in the rap category while Nicki's song "Super Freaky Girl" wasn't nominated at all. We give our takes on who came out the winner of this and ask if Nicki is bitter. Later, after hearing about the sad passing of De La Soul memeber Trugoy the Dove (February 12) we pay our respects to the fallen member, tell oir favorite songs and ask if De La Soul is a top five rap group of all time like we did the Beasties last year. All that, plus our toughest One Gotta Go in quite some time, shout outs, album recommendations and more!! --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/low-end-marauders/message Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/low-end-marauders/support

This artist became a rapper at the age of 9. Lil Wayne came from a tough childhood before exploring his talent for rapping as a member of the Hot Boys. With growing popularity, he pursued his solo career and released Tha Carter in 2004 and Tha Carter II in 2005. He was ready to take on the mantle of "Best Rapper Alive" and collaborated with artists such as Fall Out Boy and Fat Joe. Lil Wayne found success in 2008 with Tha Carter III, which included hit singles "A Milli" and "Lollipop", earning him 4 Grammys that year. Following Tha Carter III, he released IV and V, along with mixtapes. Even during his prison sentence in 2010, he released the album "I Am Not a Human Being", which debuted at #2 on the Billboard 200. Lil Wayne has sold over 120 million records worldwide and introduced a new generation of rappers, including Drake, Nicki Minaj, and Tyga through his record label, Young Money Entertainment. Over his career Lil Wayne won numerous awards — from the Grammys, BET, Billboard, VMAs, and NAACP — cementing his legacy as one of hip-hop's greatest. Watch Behind the Music now on Paramount+. Welcome to The Alley.Things are a lot more "mellow" this week in The Alley. This week opens up with a "Best Rapper Alive" take from Heider, expect to be surprised (2:00). Miguel finally finished Stranger Things and they have a discussion about Season 4 and the future of the franchise overall (14:10). They talk about white cringe (24:55) and film franchises going on for too long (32:00). Heider talks about his funny mariachi experience (49:00). Before heading into hypothetical things get slightly motivational when the guys talk about giving oneself props more often (53:40). Hypothetical Alternate Reality Topic: Staying in space is now reality and normal. Humanity is trying to essentially move out into space (i.e. Interstellar, Elysium, Ad Astra, High Life, Prospect). When Lil Wayne released Tha Carter II on December 6th, 2005, Hip Hop was in an open space. It was a time where Jay-Z was entering the executive space after the Rocafella era, and South began to rise thanks to a diverse array of sounds from No Limit to D4L. However, for record label Cash Money, it was a time to rebuild. Following the fall of the Hot Boyz, Wayne began to make sure people knew that he was the Best Rapper Alive with Tha Carter series. The first installment introduced listeners to Weezy, while the second solidified his dominance in the late 2000's. This week, we take a look back at Tha Carter with our friends Otis (@OtistGlenn) and Dave (@TrapBasquiat) and choose our top 2 songs from the album while also talking about Wayne's legacy in rap, his crazy political beliefs, and how Tha Carter II as well as his mixtape hustle helped shape the generations to come. We also discussed Drake career, who else has a reign over rap like Wayne, Kid Cudi's impact on hip hop plus much more+ Listen to this new episode and previous others on Apple:https://apple.co/3joE6Db Spotify:http://shorturl.at/HIQZ9 Linktree: https://linktr.ee/RecordReportPodcast Like, Comment, Share. Whattup doe! Welcome back to Baltimore County Forever Podcast. It’s Episode 116 and this week, we have my dawg Norm checking in with us. We discuss The Notorious BIG recently being inducted to the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame and I ask Norm what would it take for something like this to be formally recognized in Hip-Hop? Also, it was recently announced that the Neptunes will be inducted into Songwriters Hall of Fame, which prompted me to ask Norm what would an accolade like that mean to him? Then he gives me his views on ghostwriting. We also discuss this week’s playlist. Hov’s “Ignorant shit” made the list and we talk about the original version recorded in 2004 and the album version featured on “American Gangsta” that included two additional verses. We discuss the 3rd verse and how Jay tackles people blaming Hip-Hop for what happens in the world. Lil Wayne’s “Best Rapper Alive” is also on the list. We talk about Wayne’s new album on the way titled “The Funeral” and if he should retire after this album. We also discuss if Wayne has had his “4:44 album” yet. “Clarity” by Don Q also made this week’s playlist. I talk about why I consider him to be the Styles P for this generation and in comparison, how A-Boogie is the Kiss of this generation in terms of star quality.
