Synthetic peptides are getting some serious hype, from fitness influencers on your FYP to people seeking new options for chronic conditions. And while the human body already makes peptides, like insulin and the hormone oxytocin, most of the viral synthetic peptides are not approved by the Food and Drug Administration. Scientists say that raises some big concerns about safety and efficacy. So ahead of this week's FDA meeting to discuss seven commonly used peptides, we get into the science with health reporter Sarah Boden.Interested in more science behind health trends? The Lord will remove those things that are hindering your progress.
The Lord will protect the peace of those that do not change their minds so easily.
The city of New York is still riding the Knicks high with some incredible parade content from the now infamous twerker (@sophpassalaqua, @tmz). The Europeans are still taking over the USA and bringing us lots of great moments: from the Norwegians rowing chant on the NYC subway (@lilssob/) to the Scots in Miami (@fraserglen796). And let's not forget Norwegian player Erling Haaland's Birkin collection (@jack.savoie). Dena's FYP takes a hard right into Jojo Siwa territory with content from her “cruise” (@benoftheweek) and of course there's always time for Tyra Banks content - this time it's her book (@lordes3rdalbum) and defunct theme park (question mark?) (@holdensmith962). And based on the “What's your coffee order?” trend, Dena will be drinking pure sugar (@mrs.sarahann). Ashley is getting some intense workout content about a Corepower diehard (@rellimrolyat) and more Love Island from one of her favorite creators, @themarcosgonzalez. A creator spotlight is shone on @jacobjeffries who has been creating some incredibly catchy tunes (“wooly mammoth and a mastodon!”). And a Chipotle corn salsa hack in the food section is going to be a definite YES for Ashley but not Dena (@makeupmaddie). Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. Dena is joined by Ashley, friend of the pod, for an episode filled with sports! Newly crowned NBA Champions, the New York Knicks, are first and foremost on their FYPs. With videos about Timothee Chalamet getting champagne (@espn), KAT showing his softer side (@geofftakes), OG's stoicism (@nbaskitguy), Jalen Brunson winning MVP (@houseofhighlights), Josh Hart not getting the love in LA (@chau.ngo84), and Mikael Bridges being grandma's favorite player (@chelsealynn1205), videos from the starting 5 are plentiful. Then it's onto FIFA World Cup mayhem! And specifically how much our visitors are enjoying this country… they're excited (@fox4newsdallasfortworth). The Scots are absolutely taking over Boston (@jaclyntess) - from Fenway (@cbssportsgolazo) to the cop slide (@mohzify). There are Swedes experiencing Waffle House for the first time (@sampev2), Koreans partying in Mexico (@jungnankang), and a German named Freddy who is getting the star U.S.A. treatment (@karlwarnerpxp). But a video by @mrsmessyquan reminds them that Americans don't even realize we're in the tournament, too. Dena's FYP told her how to remember how to spell diarrhea (@shitterz.72) while Ashley was dropped off in Sam Smith's mukbang TikTok (@sam.served). And of course, it's Love Island season so there are plenty of memes and recaps like this one by Coach Jackie J (@jcubedhax). And lastly, Dena is committed to trying The Beast in NYC at some point this summer (@meggiesteiger). Let's go Knicks! This week, Dena is joined by Melissa, and they kick things off with the only thing more dramatic than TikTok: Knicks playoff basketball and the Tony Awards. From Broadway superfans to basketball fans suddenly discovering musical theater, they break down the crossover content taking over their FYPs. Featuring a video from @jbjams. Then it's time for Pride Month TikTok, including a hilariously catchy “gay song” by Meg Stalter that's been impossible to escape (content from @lisarinnaofficial and @carson_shofner). Dena shares a trio of bizarre stories making the rounds (@digtheplot), a horseback-riding video that sparked debate (@tiffanybutts1), and a McDonald's discovery that has people talking (@alex_hummer). Meanwhile, Melissa's FYP is serving Noah Kahan content (@periodicallymommy). They also dive into New York City observations (@liv.talmage), and a surprisingly passionate discussion about Dairy Queen in NYC. Lastly, they discuss food trends, including Keith Lee's (@keith_lee125) viral blueberry matcha review and the Outshine fruit bar and Fruit Roll-Up snack hack (@chelsearlarson). Discover what's trending on TikTok this week with Dena and Melissa. Last week's experience was skipped due to an electrical outtage so no upload was available for it. FYP Series | Week 2: Creativity — Motion Church Podcast What if the church had a "For You Page"? Not one designed to give you what you want — but one curated to give you what you need? That's the heart behind the FYP series at Motion Church. Building on the foundation laid in the Motion Is series — to lead people to live, move, and have their being in Jesus Christ — this week's message zooms in on one of the three core values that drives everything Motion Church does: creativity. It might be the last thing you'd expect to hear a sermon about. But it just might be the most important one. Starting in Genesis 1, this message unpacks a profound truth: the very first thing Scripture tells us about God is that he created. And since we are made in the image of a Creator God, creativity isn't just for artists and musicians — it's woven into the DNA of every single person in the room. Three big ideas shape this message: Be Original. The church — and you personally — are called to be exactly who God designed you to be, not a copy of someone else's success. As the message puts it: "You are the only you, and only you can do what you can do, so you better do what God has called you to do." Your sphere of influence is uniquely yours. You can reach people that no one else can reach. Be Innovative. Creativity isn't just making something out of nothing. Innovation — taking what exists and making it better — is creativity too. Motion Church's commitment is simple: use whatever methods are necessary to communicate the greatest message of all time as clearly and compellingly as possible to as many people as possible. Be Excellent. Excellence isn't perfection. It's giving God the effort he deserves. And when you do, it honors him — and it opens doors. "That excellence will honor God, it'll inspire people, and that inspiration will give you access and influence into people's lives that you may not have had otherwise." Whether you've always seen yourself as a creative person or you've never once thought that word applied to you, this message has something in it for you.
When an astrologer tells Mangesh that he’ll (probably) die early, he takes it in stride. But his family and friends (not to mention all the Don’t Die longevity influencers on his FYP) feel differently… and besides, if science can keep his brain sharp and his tennis game strong for longer, why not take advantage? So he visits Dr. Nir Barzelai, the world’s leading aging researcher, and Dr. Ron Primas, an elite longevity doctor, to figure out what he should do. Plus: A chat with Ken Reid from TV Guidance Counselor about age in pop culture, from the Golden Girls to “I’ve fallen and I can’t get up.” Disclosure: The experts we spoke with want to be clear that although they have some minor quibbles with Bryan Johnson, they’re grateful for the fact that he’s started the conversation on longevity. Any insinuation that he’s got weird vibes is ours. Listen to Ken Reid’s podcast, TV Guidance Counselor Learn more about Nir Barzelai’s Longevity Genes Project and his book, Age Later Learn more about Ron Primas’s longevity and concierge medicine practice Read Cynthia Kenyon’s groundbreaking 1993 study of worm longevity Check out the Ray Kurzweil Library Special thanks to Azadi Records and Bliss Samsa for their beautiful tracks, and Botany for the score. Podcast founder Melissa joins Dena this week since Catalina is still away. Similar to last week, this week's guest host also airs her grievances with the pod as of late. Starting with audio trends, “Melissaaaa I'm drunk and outsiiiideeee” has been trending (examples from @stevenandluke and @sarahu192). Dena's FYP includes a surprising lack of Eurovision content, Hyatt devaluation points breakdown (thanks to @carielizabethh), and a Trader Joe's money opportunity from @erica_tara. Melissa's FYP is full of “quick and easy” exercise transformation videos (i.e. @juliiaannne), Qigong tutorials, and jaw release videos (featuring a stitch with LeAnn Rimes from @lazor.lanson). NYC TikTok is all about who's lining up for what, and this week it's Mimi's yogurt (video from @imjuhm). Dena and Melissa contemplate hacking their spouse's algorithm like @lmcanty. And @valinthebay's take on slow walkers ignites Melissa's latest hot take. Check out all the videos we mention and more on our blog (2old4tiktok.com), Instagram (@2old4tiktokpod), and TikTok (@2old4tiktok_podcast). Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company.
