Back at it with episode 80, Nick holds the fort down this episode. We kick things off with a celebration of one of the greatest hood movies of all time: Friday. The movie turns 30 in 2025, and Nick asks if it is the greatest hood movie of all time, over Boyz in the Hood, Menace 2 Society, and more. His answer may surprise you based on quotables, longevity, cast, and messaging in the movie. After that, social media is flooded with pictures left and right of Mt. Rushmore on certain subjects from Air Jordans, comedians, basketball players, etc. One that has struck with Nick for this episode to discuss is a picture of white rappers on Mount Rushmore. Nick gives his thoughts on the picture and gives his opinion of his version. Later, rapper Dody6 featured on Kendrick Lamar's "Hey Now" is now blaming him for being homeless after Dody claims that the song didn't do anything to help him financial wise. Nick asks questions about the entire situation and gives advice for Dody about what to do next. Nick gives his takes on Kendrick Lamar's verse on the much talked about track "Like That", if Kendrick does drop a diss track on Drake and if he should respond back. Plus, Nick quickly touches on Drake and Lil Wayne being caught in a picture using a teleprompter during a stop on Drake's tour. After that, Nelly stops by HBO's The Shop to say that he rapped in the hardest era to be number one. Among the likes of DMX, Jay Z, Eminem and many others. Nick breaks down each era of rap that he has lived through and gives his surprising answer on if Nelly is right. Later, Freaknik the documentary made it's way onto Hulu. The festival started in 1983 in Atlanta and soon became known as "black Spring Break" for students around the Atlanta area. The festival started to attract more and more students as its popularity grew throughout the 80s and 90s, but as the popularity grew, the more tense it got for students especially around 1996 with the Summer Olympics. Cardi recently told fans on Instagram Live that she is now single, only to fuel the fires (again) of Offset cheating on her, especially with rumors going around the he slept with Chrisean Rock at a party that all three attended. We give our thoughts on the entire situation and find out what both parties should do post breakup. After that, Andre 3000 FINALLY dropped a solo album, only to disappoint fans by saying that it wasn't going to be a rap album since he had nothing to rap about at the age of 48. Lil Wayne chimed in on Andre's comments by saying that it was "depressing". We give our thoughts on 3000's new album and ask if Wayne was right to call it depressing that Andre had nothing to rap about. Next, with Busta Rhymes dropping a new album Blockbusta, he stopped on KickGame's UK show Shopping for Sneakers. When host, Craig Mitch, ask Busta on who can beat him in a Verzuz battle, Busta confidently said: "nobody!". We put his theory to the test and ask if someone can go round for round with Busta or wonder if he's right. Been gone for a minute but we are finally back with another new and funny episode of the podcast. We kick things off with LL Cool J's comments on rappers retiring on Sway In The Morning. Before kicking a freestyle on the show, he talks about how rap isn't a sport and calls out those who flirt with want to retire as a way of being bored with their careers. The marauders give their take on LL's words on retirement and why we shouldn't fall for it. After that, we talk about ageism in hip hop today after rapper Asian Doll wrote in a now deleted post on Twitter/X that people who are trying to make it in rap at/over the age of 30 is crazy. With the word going around thanks to DJ Akademics, other rappers sounded off on the post through social media as well. Nick and Jared give their thoughts on Asian Doll's post and also comment on Gillie Da Kid's comment on stop rapping past the age of 35 months ago on his podcast. Plus they ask if there should be an age limit on people trying to rap and make it in the rap game. Later, after celebrating 50 years of rap/hip hop on August 11th, many publications from Rolling Stone to Complex have made lists on the best rappers/groups/songs of all time by celebrating. Rappers have also voiced their opinions on some lists and some have even ask people on why certain rappers haven't made these lists and ask why they were overlooked. California rapper Mistah F.A.B. asked while watching the Hip Hop 50 concert from Yankee Stadium why MC Hammer wasn't a part of the show due to his contributions in the early 90s. Producer Pete Rock, asked why his late cousin Heavy D didn't get his name onto any lists after what Pete Rock said Heavy D did for the genre. We kick things off with Drake on tour with 21 Savage and with the first stop in Chicago (July 5), Drake calls out Childish Gambino for his 2018 hit "This is America" by calling it overrated and over awarded while performing "Headlines". The boys talk about the moment and wonder about the motive of the move 5 years later and ask who we are taking if a beef were to happen. Next, Megan Thee Stallion and R&B songstress Janelle Monae have fun at this year's Essence Festival by wilding out during their respective sets. With Megan during her usual performance schtick and Monae pulling out and exposing her breast albeit with a pasty on it, soul singer India.Arie voiced her disappointment with both women's sets. We ask if she was right to say that about what happened and if there should be age restrictions on festivals. After that, producer and cowriter for 2Pac's "Keep Ya Head Up", DJ Daryl says that he has 2Pac vocals still in his vault and wants to release it through new music and possibly a new album. The marauders aren't feeling this news due to them saying that it feels the producer is trying to do this as a way of clout and attention. We sadly kick things off from where we left last time with the unfortunate passing of Wild N Out/85 South Show cast member DC Young Fly's girlfriend Jacky Oh. Oh passed away (May 31) due to a surgical procedure called a "mommy makeover". The marauders talk and give their condolences to her and discuss if the toxic culture of plastic surgery for women in rap will be a continuous trend due to her passing or if the trend will sadly continue. Next up, frequent OutKast collaborator Sleepy Brown was caught up at LAX (June 13) and told TMZ that the group is over and to not expect any new music from the duo soon. We debate on if it is the end of the legendary Atlanta group and ask if Aquemini or ATLiens is the best album from OutKast since Brown said the former was their best work due to both men flexing their production skills on Aquemini. After that, it's been a dry spell for rap in the first half of 2023. Why? No rap album or single has hit number one on the Billboard Charts so far (as of this episode) and hasn't had this happen since 1993. Back again after being gone for a while! Nick and Jared are here to give you more hip hop news and questions since our last episode! We kick things off by discussing Complex's first annual Hip Hop Media Power Ranking List that made its rounds on April 3rd. Coming in at #1 was Joe Budden due to his success with his highly popular Joe Budden Podcast. We ask if the good folks at Complex got the list right and who should be higher or lower on the list. After that, 6ix9ine made headlines for all the wrong reasons when he got jumped in a Florida LA Fitness gym bathroom by three men (March 22). A few days later, he would have an interview with NBC 6 South Florida (April 6) to deny that the beatdown was staged due to people on social media having their suspicions. We ask if the beatdown that he suffered was real or staged and if there's a lesson to be learned from 6ix9ine's situation. Next up, social media came alive when people started to dream a potential Verzuz matchup with 50 Cent and Lil Wayne. Hot 97 DJ, Ebro said that he's taking 50 for the winner of the battle if it were to happen. On paper, the marauders chose Lil Wayne as the winner but we ask if 50 were to accept, what can he do in order to win against the Young Money rapper. Later, Jim Jones sounds off on Pusha T on the Rap Caviar Podcast by saying that King Push isn't a top 50 of all time due to his music "isn't being played outside and no one wants to dress like him", etc. Plus, Jim doubles down on Drake being the greatest rapper of all time during the same interview due to the records that he has broken and his cultural influence. The marauders ask where Push should be ranked on an all time rapper list and if he is in fact a top 50 rapper. All that, plus ranking the best first and second album combos, shout outs, laughs and album recommendations and more!! It's been a long time, we hate we left you. But now we got a new episode to step to! Nick and Jared hold things down again and kick things off with Complex's List of the Best Rapper Alive for 2022 and they have decided to name Sir 21 the Savage as that. The marauders have a problem with Complex naming him that considering that both Kendrick Lamar and Pusha T have had a better year than him. They name who was the better rapper of 2022 out of those three and give their takes on why 21 Savage was named that from the site. Next up, 50 Cent went onto Shaq's The Big Podcast with Shaq (January 24) and gave a take on Eminem having a more bigger and better impact on hip hop than Jay Z. We argue on who the better impact, who came out of the respective rapper's camp, and who has come the furthest from where they started. After that, Latto had an interview with Billboard (February 24) to touch base on her brief beef with Nicki Minaj a few months ago, and called it "disappointing" after the two went back and forth via Twitter over Latto's song "Big Energy" became nominated for a Grammy in the rap category while Nicki's song "Super Freaky Girl" wasn't nominated at all. We give our takes on who came out the winner of this and ask if Nicki is bitter. Later, after hearing about the sad passing of De La Soul memeber Trugoy the Dove (February 12) we pay our respects to the fallen member, tell oir favorite songs and ask if De La Soul is a top five rap group of all time like we did the Beasties last year. Happy 2023 to you and yours! We are back with more madness and hip hop topics for the new year as Nick and Jared catch you up with everything that's happen since we last left off due to the holidays. We sadly start the show off with the untimely passing of former Three 6 Mafia member, Gangsta Boo who died at the age of 43. As of this episode (recorded January 9), there has been no official cause of death but the marauders do look back and talk about their favorite memories and songs from her. We then shift from the sad to the serious when news broke that Gunna has been released from prison after pleading guilty to racketeering charges. Even though he has been released from prison, a lot of people have had mixed feelings about him being home and the way he came home due to his leaked courtroom video. We asked and wondered if Gunna snitched his way home and ask if all snitching is equal. More court case news continues as Tory Lanez was found guilty of shooting Megan Thee Stallion all the way back in 2020 and faces up to 25 years in prison and deportation back to Canada. The marauders give our thoughts on the entire case, now that it's over and wonder if Tory's career is over due to the ruling. After that, the boys hear and discuss on Drake's brand new necklace that's worth almost $13 million. The reason why Drake's new jewelry is been talked about is due to the 42 diamonds that's in it thanks to the number of times Drake thought about proposing to women in his lifetime. We laugh and play the guessing game of the number of women he wanted to propose to. All that plus, One Gotta Go: Albums of 2022 edition, laughs, album recommendations, shoutouts and a lot more!! Back at it again with another new episode of the show with Nick and Jared (and Kyle in spirit) and the marauders kick things off with an interesting list from Rolling Stone. The music magazine published (November 28) online their 50 worst decisions in music history with some hip hop picks thrown in the mix. One pick is an obvious one from (you guessed it) Kanye West and two were picks from the 90s. See what we said about those decisions that Rolling Stone mentioned plus a surprising tidbit from one rapper on the list thrown in during the segment. Next, up and coming Memphis rapper Glo Rilla sounds off on women wanting to find love in clubs in 2022/23. The boys give our opinions on if what she says is right or wrong since they can't speak on the behalf of women. After that, T.I. had social media talking about him after an old clip resurfaced on him (from August 2020) about him snitching on a dead relative before his music career took off. We ask if we should be vilifying T.I. for doing that, if his music career will take a hit and if we should give him the same treatment as 6ix9ine. Happy belated Thanksgiving to everyone here in the states, as Nick and Jared are finally full from leftovers and are back with another new episode of the show! The marauders kick things off by celebrating Nas' new album King's Disease III by alerting the listeners of its critical and fan praise between producer Hit-Boy and rapper Nas. The marauders ultimately crown the new as a rare achievement for Nas as a four-peat on him and Hit-Boy four album run. (King's Disease, KD II, Magic & KD III) We later dive in and give our picks on which other artists may have an under/overrated four-peat in hip hop and with some surprises. After that, Grammy nominations were released (Nov. 15) to (no surprise) lots of outrage and some surprises as Beyonce leads the pack with nine nominations. But the biggest buzz in the culture was the nominee for the Best Rap Album category. (DJ Khaled, Future, Jack Harlow, Pusha T and Kendrick Lamar). We voice our opinions on which rapper deserves to win the award. Plus, with Khaled and Harlow respective albums being critically panned, Nick gives 10 albums on which should have took their places that were better reviewed and received by fans and critics. After that, Bow Wow gets back into the news again after he attempted and failed to shoot his shot on AEW wrestler Jade Cargill. With the two going back and forth on Twitter, we ask if the entire situation is real or if it's something that the company is cooking up in order to please its fans. Later, the marauders attempt to solve a math problem involving Saweetie and her recent album doing a shockingly low 2000 albums sold. We ask what went wrong, who is to blame for the sales and what Saweetie can do to revive her career. All that and, Ludacris ranked, shout outs, album recommendations, laughs and lots more!! Nick and Jared hold things down with Kyle in spirit as they sadly start things off with the untimely passing of former Migos member Takeoff who was shot and killed in Houston back on November 1st. We give our thoughts on the situation that took place and give our favorite Migos moments and songs. We then shift to a lighter but messier note with Drake, and his new album with 21 Savage, Her Loss. We ask if Drake was doing too much with all the shots on the album that was hurled at people like Serena Williams' husband, Megan Thee Stallion, Ice Spice and more. Plus we give our takes on the album itself and if we should expect a sad Drake with how he has been acting on the album. After that, we visit our old friend, Lil Pump and talk about his recent appearance on The Bootleg Kev Show. During the show, he was asked if J. Another new month, another brand new episode of the podcast. Despite the technical difficulties and late post, Nick and Jared are here to give inputs on this episode and we kick things off with all things Kanye West and his rollercoaster of a week. We start with the timeline of everything that has happened to Kanye since the last episode with him being on HBO's The Shop and having that episode pulled to his controversial and damning appearance on N.O.R.E.'s Drink Champs interview (and later pulled off the Internet) to him losing over $600 million due to his remarks. We go through each point that has happened with him, give our thoughts and say if we are done with Kanye's BS antics and ask what does it take to finally not pay attention to him. Next, the ladies come out and are ready to fight as Nicki Minaj and Latto go head to head via Twitter due to Nicki's single "Super Freaky Girl" being nominated for the pop Grammy categories despite it being a rap song. Minaj took to Twitter and called out Latto's "Big Energy" single for being nominated and then the two slowly starting back and forth on the platform. We ask ourselves which female is in wrong for the whole spat and ask if there's a such thing as female unity in hip hop. After that, while speaking on the Grammy's, what do Drake, The Weeknd and Silk Sonic all have in common besides being artists? All three artists are starting to withdraw from the 2023 Grammy Awards due to reasons that we'll explain on the segment. We ask if their reasons are legit for bowing out of the ceremony and ask (again?) if hip hop needs the Grammy's or if they need hip hop. Nick and Jared give their favorite rapper turned actors list while discussing Joey's list. Next up, after the sad passing of Queen Elizabeth II, Kanye West went on Instagram and told the world that he wants to end his beefs with Pete Davidson, Kid Cudi and Adidas GM Daniel Cherry. Next up, Ms. Nicki Minaj gets honored at this year's VMAs (August 28) with the highest honor of winning the Video Vanguard Award and becoming the ninth female overall to win it. (Missy Elliot was last to win the honor in 2019.) While we briefly look back at her career, we ask if it's too soon for Nicki to win the award since of the marauders feels like it's too early for her to win that award. Next up, one of the greatest ever, Jay Z, made a surprise appearance on Kevin Hart's new show Heart to Hart (Peacock) and tells the host that as of now, he not retired from music but he has no plans to make music. We ask the question on if it's time to Jay to hang it up and also giving our predictions on when he should drop his next album. After that, T Pain appears on DJ Akademiks Twitch channel to talk about the late great Tupac Shakur. During the show, Tallahassee Pain said that Tupac would have been "ate the f--k up (PAUSE!) due to the lyrics that we hear today" if he survived his fatal 1996 shooting in Vegas. We give our opinions on what Pac would be doing from 1997 to today and if he would be more interested in movies or music in 2022. Back again with another new episode and another BRAND NEW SEASON of the show. Nick and Jared kick the season off after enjoying the long 4th of July weekend with Bobby Shmurda's rant on producers wanting him to pay up to 5 digits for beats that he wants, but feels like they are asking for way too much money. Some producers are responding back on why they feel the need to charge more for their beats. The marauders discuss on if producers should be getting paid the same as rappers or if they should be getting paid more. After that, the 2022 BET Awards have come and gone and a lot of surprises took place from Kanye's first appearance in almost a decade, to Brandy and Jack Harlow squashing their "beef" to Mariah Carey and Shyne taking the stage. We give our picks on what we loved and hated about the show and what we could have wished for. Later, social media was abuzz with the Omarion/Ray J/Mario/Sammie Verzuz battle that took place and it became memorable for all the wrong reasons. We talk and laugh about the entire battle and crown a undisputed winner (Spoiler Alert: It wasn't Ray J) and hear Ray J's excuse on what happened with his performance. Apologies for the late drop, but Nick and Jared are back with the final episode of season two and they go out with a bang by kicking the off with Rolling Stone's Top 200 Greatest Hip Hop Albums of All Time list that had a lot of people talking for better and mostly for worse. We talk about what the magazine ranked as number one and one particular album that ranked higher than a lot of critical applauded and fan favorite albums (list further below in the notes). Next up, The Game is on his rap Wrestlemania rollout with his new album Drillmatic and is still hurt about him not being included at this year's Super Bowl but still continues to drag down Eminem. We give our thoughts on if we have high or low expectations for his upcoming album especially since there's no track listing (as of this episode) and no released singles. After that, XXL dropped their annual Freshman List on who's next to break out in hip hop (list and link further below in notes). We talk about the up and coming rappers and give our takes on who will break out in 2022 AND discuss our favorite years of the XXL Freshman List from the past. Later, Drake surprised the world by dropping a new album Honestly, Nevermind and... it divided a lot of fans and people have given it negative reviews. Back again with another new episode with Nick & Jared kicking things off with an old school vs. new school generation battle with Soulja Boy claiming that the old school rappers that came before him, haven't done anything for the new generation of rap artists (May 30) and legendary producer Pete Rock talks down on the new generation of rap by saying that drill rap (a subgenre of rap music with violent, gritty and realistic lyrics rapped over a slowed down beat) is trash due to him seeing people in his native Brooklyn dying in the street (May 27). We address both topics and give our thoughts and who we rule in favor of with the old school/new school war of words. Next up, the 2022 BET Awards nominations were announced (June 1) with Doja Cat leading the pack with six nominations but with everyone getting nominations for the show, one person in particular wasn't fond of not being nominated: Lil Nas X. With Queen Latifah backing him up and saying that he should have been on the ballot, we give our votes on whether or not he should have been and we give our annual predictions on the award show (June 26). After that, Yo! MTV Raps has made a comeback on Paramount+ with new hosts, battle rapper/Wild N Out castmember Conceited and DJ Diamond Kutz. We look back on the show which launched careers, gave first peeks at up and coming artists and had lots of memorable live perfomances and tell our favorite moments and then ask if Yo! was a better show than their rival show (BET's) Rap City and some answers may surprise you. We also talk about the controversy surrounding the album with Kendrick bringing in Kodak Black to appear on the album due to his legal problems in the past and ask if he was right to be featured on Mr. Morale. After that, YSL gets in deep trouble with Young Thug and Gunna being arrested for conspiring to  violate the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act, murder, armed robbery and participation in criminal street gang activity. With Young Thug being arrested and Gunna following suit a few days later, we give our thoughts on what comes next for both rappers and if their careers will be the same post RICO indictment. We debate on if DDG was right to make those comments and some of our comments may surprise you and we'll tell you who is better in what from the old and new schools. Next up, Pusha T is having a hell of a year so far with his album It's Almost Dry coming in at number one on the Billboard 200 album chart, the Arby's Spicy Fish diss to McDonald's (still fire! no pun intended) and going on a promotional tour to hype up the album. Some fans were thinking that he sent a shot at Cardi B in his song "Dreaming of the Past" due to a lyric in his song. We ask if it was a direct shot to her and if Cardi B deserved the Best Rap Album Grammy from 2019. After that, May 4th marks the 10 year passing of legendary rapper MCA of the Beastie Boys due to cancer. We take a look back at the boys' career, achievements and influences then ask if the trio from NYC is a top five hip hop group of all time since asking if top ten was too easy of a question. Rocky was arrested and then later released due to a shooting incident that happened back in November 2021 where he allegedly shot a man in his hand in the Hollywood area. We give our quick thoughts on the entire situation surrounding him and if it'll hurt his career. After that, Fivio Foreign went on The Angie Martinez Show (April 12) and told Angie that Jay Z was the greatest rapper to come out of Brooklyn with Fivio being a Brooklyn native himself. We discuss if the answer was a safe answer to save face and if Jay really is the greatest MC to come out of the Brooklyn with others coming out like MC Lyte, B.I.G., Big Daddy Kane and more. Next, upcoming rapper Coi Leroy is in the headlines for her album TRENDSETTERS, but for some for all the wrong reasons, as her album is projected to sell 9,000 copies sold in its first week. We ask ourselves if the album is considered a flop in 2022 streaming services standards and if she can improve her craft or if it's too late for her. Later, Doja Cat is having a great 2022 so far with her winning a GRAMMY (April 4), performing at Coachella (April 17) and getting the respect she deserves from her peers including rapper Wale. The Nigerian rapper said on Twitter that Doja is one of the best rappers in the world today and Remy Ma saying that she isn't a rapper on an episode of Drink Champs but still gave Doja Cat her respect. But the slap has drawn a lot of criticism from fans, viewers of the live show and celebrities alike. As of stepping down from The Academy of Motion Pictures Arts & Sciences back on the first, and then a week later being banned for a decade from all Oscars events, we give our thoughts on him being banned for ten years and the entire Chris Rock situation. Next up, the 64th annual GRAMMYs happened on April 3rd and hip hop came through and had some winners from Lil Baby to Doja Cat to Tyler, the Creator. With the aforementioned winning Best Rap Album over J. Cole, Nas and Kanye West, we ask if the GRAMMYs made the right call on having Call Me If You Get Lost as the winner. He also says that he's so broke right now that he can't afford gas according to his manager Wack 100 when back in September 2021 he claimed to have had a "$43 million worth of business". We give our thoughts and takes on 6ix9ine going broke and drop some gems on him. After that, Kanye West is back at it again with him going off on Instagram by taking shots on comedians D.L. Hughley and The Daily Show host Trevor Noah with both of them voicing their concern on West's recent behavior and West firing back to the point of him being suspended off of Instagram for 24 hours and him being kicked off the performers list at this year's GRAMMYs (which is hosted by Noah). We discuss if him being for 24 hours was enough and then wonder if Trevor Noah was responsible for Kanye being pulled off the show like his "Eazy" collaborator The Game wrote online. Next, Pusha T has beef with McDonald's! After being stiffed for $500K for him cowriting the "I'm Lovin' It" jingle for the brand and Justin Timberlake getting $6 million, King Push dropped a diss track aiming at the fast food chain and linking up with Arby's to fire shots. Next up, Kanye West (yeah we're talking about him again) had a roller coaster like two weeks since the last episode with the break up of him and Julia Fox (February 14th), him and Kid Cudi on bad terms again and him promoting Donda 2 and telling fans that the album will be exclusively on Stem Players for the low price of $200. For this episode, all three marauders are back and ready to talk about the biggest music story of 2022 (...so far) with Rihanna and Harlem rapper A$AP Rocky expecting their first child together after pictures of the two were spotted holding hands around New York and Rihanna sporting her pregnancy bump for the world to see. Even though the two are becoming first time parents, we ask each other if we'll be hearing new music from either before the year is up. Next up, in 1992, Snoop Dogg was signed to Death Row Records at the age of 22 and released one of the best debut albums in hip hop history under the imprint. Now, 30 years later, Snoop has become the owner of the label he was on. We speculate what's next for tha Doggfather (see what we did there?) now that he owns Death Row and we see and wonder what happens if one of the biggest artists in the world were to hypothetically sign with the label and we give our takes on what we want to see what Snoop will do during this year's Super Bowl Halftime Show plus we give our picks as well. After that, from one Super Bowl Halftime performer to another, Eminem in his first year of being eligible, is leading the fan vote into this year's Rock & Roll Half of Fame Class of 2022. Along with first year nominees, A Tribe Called Quest, we give our hot takes on if both acts should go into this year's class. After that, Hot 97's DJ Drewski took to Instagram to tell people that he's no longer playing gang/diss tracks on the radio due to him getting tired of seeing people losing their lives to gun/gang violence in the streets. We debate on if it's the smart thing to do and if other DJs should do the same. All this and laughs, ranked recent hip hop love songs and more!! On our Jackie Robinson/mid season finale episode, all the marauders are back to record and back to give their hot takes starting on Kayne West's jeen-yuhs Netflix documentary coming in February (16th) and Mr. West lashing out at directors Coodie & Chike and Netflix to let him in to have the final say and see on his upcoming documentary to (as of this recording) no avail. We ask if the upcoming four and a half hour documentary will be better with or without Kanye's hands on the film. Next up, social media keeps adding more gas to the fire that is Eminem finally getting a Verzuz battle in the potential future with some saying that the favorite to be his opponent would be Busta Rhymes. We ask if Busta is Em's best Verzuz opponent in the future or if someone else is lurking in the shadows waiting to beat Eminem. After that, lyrics has been used in courtrooms against musicians for decades when crimes are committed, Jay Z and Meek Mill want to change that narrative to present a bill in New York that prevents that from happening that has now being sent to the Senate floor. We discuss if music lyrics should or shouldn't be used against rappers/musicians in court. Later, Bow Wow voices his disappointment via Twitter by calling out fans after someone saying to name three of his songs if a person put a gun to their head. We call cap or no cap on the story and give our takes (and questions) on the whole situation between the two. Next, with Kanye having an interesting two weeks with now new girlfriend model/actress Julia Fox (Uncut Gems), and being in photos with Floyd Mayweather, Madonna, Antonio "You can't fire me, because I quit!" For this episode of the podcast, Nick and Kyle talk about two highly anticipated albums that dropped since our last episode: Kayne West's Donda and Drake's Certified Lover Boy. The marauders give our report card ratings on both albums and discuss what they loved and hated about both albums and also wonder if both men will put the bad blood behind them after Drake came for Kanye on his track "7am On Bridle Path". Next, after the unexpected death of actor Michael K. Williams (Omar from HBO's The Wire, Albert White from HBO's Boardwalk Empire) many took to social media to give their thoughts and condolences to the actor including 50 Cent who decided to take an alternative route and plug his show Raising Kanan while drew criticism from fans online. We discuss if 50's online post about the late actor was in bad taste or not. After that, RocNation member Memphis Bleek talks a potential Verzuz battle between his good friend Jay Z and his on again/off again frenemy Nas and tells everyone that Nas can't beat Jay Z in a 20 Round Verzuz matchup. We ask and talk about if Nas has enough songs in his arsenal to beat Jay Z after now doing the shows in front of crowds and if his catalog can hold up plus we give our early predictions on the upcoming Fat Joe vs. Ja Rule Verzuz on September 14th in New York. All that and album recommendations, shoutouts, and West Coast debut albums being ranked and more!!! For this episode of the show, we talk about Kendrick Lamar's recent announcement that he was leaving his long time label Top Dawg Entertainment after his next full length album. The marauders ask what is Kendrick's next move after he drops his album and then wonder if the label will still be strong without Kendrick? Next up, we speak on a potential TDE vs. Dreamville Verzuz battle after Dreamville label rapper Bas appearing on a Power 106 radio interview in LA and speaking about who the label should face if a Verzuz battle were able to happen. After that, with Lil Nas X having the best year of his career, he had a lot to say about skateboarding god Tony Hawk using his own blood to be mixed in with paint to sell future skateboards after calling him out due to Lil Nas X using the same tactic to sell shoes a few months ago (See Episode 21). We ask if Lil Nas X is right to call out Tony Hawk for using that same ploy and if people should be outraged on Tony Hawk using blood for skateboards. Later on, we had news on Drake reportedly dropping Certified Lover Boy on September 3 due to "feed interference" during Friday morning's (August 27) episode of ESPN's Sportscenter. With his last album Scorpion getting subpar reviews from fans and critics alike, we ask if Drake's next album is do or die especially considering since he is one of the best in the game today and is one of the highest selling rappers today. All that plus, we rank diss tracks, we give shoutouts and a whole lot more!
