After what Mike called the low point of the show in terms ofmovie we've covered, this week we've rebounded with a minor classic, WilliamPeter Blatty's The Exorcist 3. Or is it Legion? Or is it The Exorcist 3:Legion? Or is it The Exorcist 1990? As you can see already, this one had a long, winding, andoften confusing path to the screen. From creative differences that led toBlatty ultimately taking the helm, to forced reshoots, and a wedged in exorcismin the third act, to recasting three of the principal characters, it's a hellof a tale. Brad Douriff alone would replace Jason Miller, only to be replacedby Miller after test screenings, only to replace / team up with Miller to playthe same character after replacing him didn't work. It's stunning a coherentfilm even emerged, let alone one that's as smart, scary and thoughtful asExorcist 3. Featuring one last powerful turn from a late in his career George CScott, Brad Douriff at his scariest (coming off Child's Play no less) and oneof the best jump scares in movie history, this one packs a wallop.
This week on the Erotic Thriller Club we follow Bruce Willis to sunny Los Angeles for a tale of banging and subpar psychology! This movie pushes the boundaries of gratuitous sex scenes and how dumb you're able to treat an audience. Please join us for an absolute bad movie night classic.

After a summer of legendary audio issues, Bree and friend of the show Frederick Blichert cap off the season with a playful romp through a home viewing favourite (“favourite” might be generous for Bree), Urban Legend. The movie obviously apes Scream every chance it gets, which might make it the ultimate movie through which to explore the context of late 90's blockbusters. In the fun of figuring out exactly what about this movie doesn't work – when in fact there's a bit about it that does work – we also look at what sets it apart from the horror movies it was trying so hard to imitate, and how its themes fits into the 2020's era of misinformation. Also, lots of love for Brad Douriff and Loretta Devine.
We've hit the midway point in our Alien franchise retrospective with Jean-Pierre Jeunet's, Alien Resurrection (1997). While more visually exciting than Alien3, it's a bit of a mess. Starring Winona Ryder, Dan Hadeya, Brad Douriff, Michael Wincott, and a very reluctant Sigourney Weaver - who said she signed on after the dump truck of money was backed onto her lawn. Episode 61: ONE FLEW OVER THE CUCKOO'S NEST For this week's podcast we watched the 1975 classic One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. Directed by Milos Foreman, this adaptation of Ken Kesey's highly regarded novel stars Jack Nicholson as Randle (yes, that's how it's spelled) McMurphy. In one of his most iconic roles, Nicholson's antiestablishment beatnik is sent to a mental health facility to assess his competency to serve his prison sentence. He clashes with the facility's rigid warden, Nurse Ratched, played here by Louise Rainer. Brad Douriff, Will Sampson, Danny DeVito, and Christopher Lloyd play the other inmates with whom McMurphy bonds. One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest won Best Picture in a stacked year, and ranks here as number 9 on our countdown.* Spoiler Alert: We talk about the movie in its entirety, so if you haven't yet seen it, check it out. Or not. That ball is in your court. Come back next week for the number eight, Billy Wilder's 1960 masterpiece The Apartment. *What is this list? We explain it in more detail in our Trailer and its Description, but as a high-level answer: we aggregated several different lists that rank the ninety-four winners of the Best Picture Academy Award in a rough attempt to get a consensus. It is not intended to be rigorous or definitive. It's just a framework to guide our journey through cinema history.
Voodoo and tap dancing, who knew? Tonight on The Night Club, we visit with entrepreneur Kevin Davis and conduct a Midnight Ritual of Child's Play(1988). Even though they didn't have the rights to anything except "Child's Play," MGM decided that they couldn't keep a Good Guy down and rebooted the Chucky franchise... even though the original franchise is still going with Brad Douriff and Don Mancini. So MGM recast Chucky with the voice talent of Mark Hamill and turned our favorite killer doll into a misguided but lethal doll-slash-iPad.While Child's Play (2019) was received better than most horror remakes, probably thanks to performances from Hamill and Aubrey Plaza, it's largely being forgotten and probably resented as being the true Black Sheep of the series.Meaning that we're going to look back and ask the important questions like: how weird is it that Mark Hamill has played Luke Skywalker, The Joker, and now Chucky? Important questions like this will be answer so come hang with us as we figure out if this incarnation had legs, or if MGM just fucked with the Chuck.
On this show, our specialty is sequels, sequels, and more sequels. From the good ones, to the bad ones, to the really ugly ones, we'll be covering them all! We've got homicidal maniacs that won't stay in the grave, sci-fi epics whose stories cannot be told in a single tale, and much much more. For our 19th episode, we are tackling our first 4th chapter in a franchise with the science fiction action flick from 1997 with "ALIEN RESURRECTION". Directed by Jean-Pierre Jeunet and starring a cavalcade of genre veterans including Sigourney Weaver returning as Ellen Ripley and Brad Douriff, Ron Perlman, Michael Wincott and Winona Ryder. The continuing adventures of Ripley versus Xenomorphs, the Company, space pirates and Alien Queens is sort of a mess when it comes to total coherency but a lot of fun at the same time. Join our hosts Cameron Scott and returning guest co-host and filmmaker Tony Walters (RAD Entertainment) for their discussion on this muddled but interesting science fiction/body horror/action adventure yarn. "I'm not the mechanic here, Ironsides! I mostly just hurt people!"
Eric and I start October podding with discussing what we are watching to kick off the hallowed season. Then we dive into our 90s King Adaptation Month with 1990s Graveyard Shift! the movie is wild but highly entertaining. We discuss the Batrat, coke vs pepsi, Brad Douriff's bat shit exterminator role, Stephen Macht's main accent and much more!
This week we wrap up our latest franchise with one of the most controversial movies we've ever covered. The Child's Play remake had longtime fans of the series up in arms as the movie and characters were ripped from series creator Don Mancini in an attempt by United Artists to cash in on the Child's Play IP. This seemed to doom the reboot from the start, as horror fans wanted little to do with s Chucky that didn't feature Mancini in a creative role, or Brad Douriff as Chucky's voice. Even casting Luke Skywalker himself as the voice of the killer doll did little to appease fans. Controversy aside, how does the movie fare on its own merits? What do we think of Chucky as an Alexa gone bad versus the product of a voodoo spell? What do we think of the over the top gore and kills? Would this movie have its stans if it was just about a killer robot that only wanted to be loved? Mike can't handle these questions on his own, so this week we have our first crossover episode with our friends Stephen and Brett from the DISENFRANCHISED podcast to talk about all this and more. This week Abby and Rebecca discuss the enduring classic, Child's Play. We chat serial killer inspirations, the racist and lazy use of VooDoo as a plot device, and of course gush over Brad Douriff's scary and sexy voice work.

It's a return to The Crypt-Keeper's hideaway for this week's TV edition of The Blind Rage Podcast! “People Who Live in Brass Hearses” is definitely one of the more oddball ones, featuring a pair of brothers who want to pull off the perfect crime, but lack the intelligence to manufacture a remotely coherent plan, as well as a neighborhood ice cream man harboring a dark secret. Bill Paxton and Brad Douriff star. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/blindragepod/message
Dan and Grant review William Peter Baltty's follow up to The Exorcist, starring George C Scott, Brad Douriff and Jason Miller.
Today Trent and Justin take a look at an underrated sequel to possibly the most infamous horror film of all time. With an amazing performance by Brad Douriff, and boasting the greatest jump scare of all time, it's a movie that more people should appreciate. During the recording of this episode, we experienced some very strange noises in the audio and technical difficulties. Were these simply coincidence, or did someone or something disapprove of us talking about this movie? You as the listener can decide...
In the second episode of our Halloween extravaganza we take a look at the remake of Halloween done by Rob Zombie, which Dustin and I love but at the same time we understand the push back that a lot of people have with this movie. If you watched this movie once or twice and didn't like it listen to our analysis and watch a time or two again, because you just may change your tune.

Crites in Space! Question for the listening audience: has adding "in space" to any long running movie franchise ever made that entry better? We're thinking a hard no on our end, because despite a baller cast that includes Angela Bassett and Brad Douriff, Critters 4 is a hot mess of a movie. Maybe it's the cheap set design, maybe it's the attempt to recreate Alien on a next-to-nothing budget, or maybe its the fact that the titular characters turn up for about 4 minutes in the first hour, but this one is tough. That said, Jerry and Mike are here to break down the movie, and give our spin on what does and does not work. Plus, your fearless cohosts discuss how they're faring with the start of self-imposed social isolation and what they're watching to get through these rough few weeks.
