"Send me a text message and let me know what you think of the First-Time Leaders Accelerated℠ Podcast."To be a great people-centered leader, you must genuinely care FOR and ABOUT people. You need to do both.1.Caring FOR people is doing something for their well-being and helping them grow. It's something you do to demonstrate you care for those you lead.2.Caring ABOUT people is being emotionally concerned about their well-being and growth. During the Winter, I travel often, visiting people from the racing family. I spend time w/ racers at their surgeries. I see them in their homes and perform baptisms, memorial services, and weddings. It is an excellent opportunity to get to know those in the racing family better. For me, it is a trip of love. l Cor 13 gives us the most excellent direction on how to love all people. It is good, but loving "all" people is very challenging.

Since then, she has dedicated her time to bridging the gap between caring and feeling cared for and has developed a system to train people how to connect better. Okay, so episode 1 has you intrigued. The Mission Statement for PrisonCare, Inc., was the heart of that Welcome episode, and now you want to better understand what we're suggesting compassionate people actually DO. Using the idea of society's relationship with a hospital as opposed to its relationship with a prison, Sabrina Justison unpacks the big-picture need for a new understanding of prison neighborhoods. Then, using specific examples of strategies that work, she casts a vision for how a PrisonCare compassion team might form, what kinds of activities it might explore, and what kinds of goals it might set. About JessicaJessica Patay is passionate about serving caregiving moms and creating authentic communities. She has always fostered deep, life-giving friendships, and is intentional about growing her community of girlfriends. As a caregiving mom herself, this passion for relationships carries on as she gathers women through We Are Brave Together - to encourage them, mentor them, inspire them, and validate their intense and precious journeys. Her own story as a mom to a child with a disability began in 2003 when her second son, Ryan, was born and diagnosed with a rare, genetic disorder called Prader-Willi syndrome. Within two days of receiving this diagnosis, she received a phone call from a mentor mom from the Prader-Willi California Foundation. Immediately she felt relief and comfort knowing she was not alone. Thankfully, Ryan is sandwiched in the middle of siblings Luke and Kate, both fierce and loving cheerleaders and helpers to Ryan.If Jessica could show up on every mother's doorstep with flowers, chocolate, wine, a witty-and-wise motherhood manual, and… a gorgeous banner that says, "You are not alone"-- she would. And you never know, she just might find a way to make that happen! . The heart of the We Are Brave Together organization was born out of this desire to connect, encourage, and support.Jessica Patay fueled WABT's growth into an international community of over 1500 moms. In the last four years, she has helped launch over 20 support groups throughout the United States, New Zealand and in Australia. She is the host of our podcast, “Brave Together with Jessica Patay,” found on Apple, iTunes, Spotify, Amazon and Stitcher. I need a nap...perpetually. I would love to say that my sleep hygiene is on point, BUT what I will say is it is much better than it use to be. Sleep is hard as a momma. I hear everything that goes on in my house while I sleep. I remember when the kids were little "sleeping in" meant I got to sleep until the kids woke up. I will say that now that I have a teenager-mornings on the weekend are sweet! Sleep and rest are two different things. Yes a nap would be a great form of whole self-care and if you have the opportunity to do it- GO FOR IT Girl! But what if we were supposed to look at rest in a different way. What if we could still be going about our daily activities and still experience rest? Wouldn't that be AWESOME! When we are defining whole self-care we need to look at all our needs and how to bring rest into our daily lives. In today's episode we talk about just that- a new way to consider rest. I hope it opens a whole new world of opportunties for you? What if it reduces guilt and shame that you feel because you are not doing enough or the "right" thing? What if it means reducing the current to-do list? What if you could define the rest you need? My friend! I think it is possible! Listen in to find out! Oh Oh Oh! I wanted to share with you a FREE workshop coming up! It's the "Caring For our Whole Self" Workshop. Hey Hey! Do you struggle with work/life balance? Do you know you need to take better care of yourself and buy into this idea of good self-care but can't see how it really works in your life? In today's episode, we talk about the areas in our life that we need to focus on and how to look at our whole self with respect to self-care. We can't focus on one or two areas of our life and expect to feel balanced and energized! We are a whole person with many faucets of needs and desires. It's time to give ourselves a break and address (or maybe just acknowledge) that we do have needs that we aren't intentionally pouring into. The purpose of this is not to make you feel guilty or even behind- it's to finally get to the bottom of our feeling of being lost and overwhelmed and what to do about it. So let's dive in! Oh Oh Oh! Today Crystal talks with Dennis Spivey and Jessica Johnson about the joys and challenges that have shaped them as siblings and what they think you should know about siblings. It’s Episode 81! Alix Fox and Olly Mann from The Modern Mann podcast join Flixwatcher to review Alix’s choice the comedy drama the Fundamentals of Caring, the 2016 film starring Paul Rudd and Craig Roberts. Based on the book, The Revised Fundamentals of Caring, this film version stars Rudd as a carer to wheelchair user Roberts and also features Selima Gomez as a hitchhiker and love interest. While it may feel like the Fundamentals of Caring isn’t saying anything new on the road trip personal journey of development movie trope it does show people with disabilities as normal people, funny, witty humans with sexual desires. Scores [supsystic-tables id='83'] The comedy moments may or may not make you piss your knickers but this road trip and personal journey is sweet and it’s heart in its right place, it’s a cosy indie film with strong performances from all the cast. Let down by a so-so soundtrack and a bit of an odd ending, but with a run time of one hour 37 minutes you can forgive those sins. The Fundamentals of Caring scores a strong 3.37 overall, recommended.
