So we got Music Ally COO Patrick Ross on the show to chat about what this means for people: how to up-skill, re-train and branch out; how to recognise the opportunities this brings. Spoiler: now is a better time than ever to learn new abilities and make them into a creative career. ------
Aldar Tissue, Ireland's largest household and commercial tissue paper manufacturer and part of the Zeus Group, has officially opened its new €15 million, purpose-built manufacturing facility in Rathcoole, Dublin. The 100,000 sq ft facility will see the workforce at Aldar Tissue double by 2026, creating 30 new full-time jobs. Both Aldar Tissue and Zeus are committed to achieving Net Zero emissions by 2050, actively reducing carbon footprints by prioritising local manufacturing and sustainable raw materials. Aldar Tissue supplies major customers such as Musgrave, Lidl, Aldi, and Essential Supplies. The state-of-the-art Dublin plant features fully automated, high-speed production lines, robotic packing, and wrapping technologies. These innovations will enable Aldar Tissue to transition from a 24/5 to a 24/7 operation by 2026, further increasing capacity. Aldar Tissue was acquired by Zeus, Europe's leading independent packaging manufacturer and distributor, in 2019. Speaking at the facility's opening, Keith Ockenden, CEO of Zeus, commented: "Our goal is to help our customers reduce their packaging usage and lower their carbon emissions by providing innovative products and services. By processing industrial production rolls into smaller, finished products on-site in Ireland, Aldar Tissue significantly reduces the need for long-distance transportation of raw materials, thereby cutting carbon emissions from shipping bulk materials from mainland Europe. This streamlined approach not only lowers our carbon footprint but also enhances supply chain efficiency, ensuring products are delivered to customers more sustainably and cost-effectively. "Currently, 80% of the Irish tissue market is supplied from the UK and mainland Europe. This new facility increases our production capacity and will enable us to fulfil up to 40% of Ireland's bathroom tissue and kitchen towel needs. This will allow us to meet the evolving demands of local markets while driving sustainability within the industry." Ockenden further commented: "With the addition of 30 new jobs, Aldar Tissue is doubling its workforce to meet growing demand. We have plans to further expand production capacity by 2026. Our products adhere to the highest standards of performance, offering a real alternative to imports and supporting the Irish economy. Aldar Tissue's investment aligns with Ireland's broader sustainability goals, with the new production lines capable of using paper-based wrapping materials. At Aldar, we are not just producing tissue products; we are building a sustainable future for Ireland." The plant's cutting-edge technology enables high-speed production of consumer and professional tissue products at a rate of 600 meters per minute or 200 packs per minute, offering more than 60 variations of kitchen towels and bathroom tissue. As of 2023, the Irish toilet tissue market is valued at approximately €155 million, driven by demand from both retail and away-from-home sectors.

In this episode, Universal Accounting President and host Roger Knecht sits down with Rebecca Howell to explore her transformative journey in the accounting industry. From a passion for math to a thriving 20-year career in bookkeeping, Rebecca's story is one of growth, adaptation, and strategic transition that we in the industry can relate to and learn from. Key Highlights: Early Beginnings and Business Growth: Rebecca's love for numbers propelled her into bookkeeping, supporting small businesses and entrepreneurs. Launching her own firm in 2003, she expanded her client base significantly, aided by Intuit's proadvisor program. Adapting to Industry Changes: As Intuit shifted to offering its own services, Rebecca refocused on building long-term client relationships and empowering her team, resulting in impressive growth from 40 clients in 2019 to over 200 by 2022. Leadership and Personal Challenges: Facing challenges in leadership and team dynamics, Rebecca hired a business coach to enhance communication. They discuss how the stress of being the sole tax preparer took a toll on her health, leading to the sale of her business for personal well-being. Identity and Purpose Reflection: Letting go of tax clients led to an identity crisis and a reevaluation of her purpose beyond business ownership. Rebecca underscores the importance of a sustainable business model and early exit strategy planning. Transition to New Roles: Finding fulfillment in transitioning from a fractional CFO to exit planning, Rebecca advocates for prioritizing profit, inspired by the book “Profit First.” Entrepreneurial Advice: Rebecca emphasizes the necessity of early exit strategy planning, comparing business maintenance to caring for a home or vehicle. Her journey highlights the balance between work and personal life, with a strong support network playing a crucial role. Reassessing Priorities: The discussion encourages listeners to reassess their priorities, learn to say no, and leverage resources like podcasts and conferences for continued professional development. In June, the Supreme Court issued a 6-3 decision in Loper Bright Enterprises v. Raimondo, overturning the 40-year-old legal precedent known as the "Chevron doctrine." This doctrine had allowed federal agencies to interpret ambiguous statutes within their jurisdiction. The ruling marks a significant shift in the regulatory landscape, with major implications for how federal agencies operate and how regulations are enforced—particularly in health care. The decision presents both challenges and opportunities for the health care industry, making it crucial for policymakers, health care leaders, and businesses to understand the evolving regulatory environment. Joining Hospitals in Focus to unpack the potential effects of this ruling on health care policy making is Thomas Barker, a partner at Foley Hoag and former General Counsel at CMS and Acting General Counsel at HHS. In this episode, we explore: Impact on Congress: How does the ruling affect Congress's legislative process and its relationship with federal agencies? Will the ruling force Congress to write more precise laws? Changes for Federal Agencies: What does the ruling mean for federal agencies, like CMS and HHS, which have relied on Chevron deference to implement and enforce regulations? Judicial Implications: Will courts, particularly lower courts, take on a larger role in interpreting statutes? How could this influence future rulings on health and business regulations? Business and Regulatory Implications and Challenges: What will be the effect on businesses, especially those operating in highly regulated sectors like health care, and what are the potential retroactive effects of the Loper Bright decision?

Costellanos led the Eagles to a 28-13 upset win at Florida State on Monday. He talks about making the transition to play for longtime NFL coach Bill O'Brien, why he stayed at Boston College after the coaching change and what he plans to do to make a name for himself. Harrell became UNC's QB1 after Max Johnson suffered a season-ending leg injury in their opening win over Minnesota. He talks about learning while being a backup to Drake Maye, who was taken third overall in the NFL draft by the New England Patriots. And the difference between preparing knowing he's the starter as opposed to being ready as a backup.

One of the biggest shifts I made was creating new roles in my salon for my stylists. It's been so fun to promote my team to these new roles & give them more opportunities to grow inside my business. From an owner perspective, these roles help take things off my plate and delegate them to people who are better at these tasks than I am. Since adding these roles, my salon has never been better. We've hit record breaking months and important things aren't falling through the cracks because they're delegated out to my team. Recharting Your Life With Hope -Get Unstuck and Discover Direction, Purpose, and Joy for Your Life
Tajuana is one of the easiest people to talk to, she made it seem like we'd known each other forever. If you're feeling stuck, her zen vibe and can-do attitude will pull you out of your rut on this episode. Tijuana's FB link and her email Key points: Give when you're able, inspire when you can. Serving others can give you a sense of purpose. Burnout can look like being Irritable, not wanting to meet the day, not being fully present in your life, and physical symptoms like being achy and inflamed. Try mixing iti up with doing lots of different things both for your career and otherwise. . Burnout is lower in clinicians who work more than one job. Add in creativity, it engages you in a new way. Listen to those inner pulls for each season of life. Allow yourself to be gung ho and then phase out, Even if your new endeavors don't resonate with those around you, allow yourself to be a unicorn and do things that light you up. Have fun, figure out what feels rewarding. Then try it out and learn about yourself in the process. You can't control circumstances in life but you can add in intentional practices like setting a timer twice a day to take a deep breath, stretching, yoga, or walks outside. Have grace for yourself, sometimes you'll make decisions that feel like mistakes. No one has all the answers, forgive yourself for the missteps and move forward, don't be afraid to seek out help or take steps in a new direction. You don't have to just have one lane in life, you can have lots of identities, in fact, it will probably be more fulfilling. If you liked what you heard and want help with your own burnout journey, I'd love to talk. I'm writing a book on how to heal from burnout (due out 1/25), and I have a group coaching starting mid-August after my wild kids go back to school.
