Hello girls, guys, non-binary pals! Today we're talking with self-proclaimed deep thinker, tattoo-loving hoarder, Feminist, wedding photographer Kim Williams.Kim is a super proud supporter of LGBTQ Equality Weddings bringing diversity and a fresh approach to modern-day weddings...As well as One Tree Planted - an amazing organization that plants trees all over the world so with every one of Kim's booking she plants 12 trees (because one just ain't enough!) Kim passed 1000 trees planted last year which is pretty damn cool too!You may already know of Kim Williams from her social post titled “Things men did to me at weddings in 2021” which certainly garnered some popularity and support, probably some offensive comments from knob heads as well and which hopefully stoked many conversations between friends and colleges about misogyny and the danger woman face at weddings ... All of which we'll get into on this episode.Links Mentioned:What we're drinking: Glengoyne 25 Year OldKim is drinking Wolfox Planadas, ColombiaOne Tree PlantedThree Sisters BakePS5Hot Stock AppBobbin ProductionsKim's CameraSmall RigThe best smoke bombsThe Career QueerInclusivity GuideJubilee's Do All Feminists Think The Same? videoFollow Kim:WebsiteInstagramFollow Us:WebsiteInstagramFacebookYoutubePodcastSupport us on PatreonSend us a DM on Instagram or e-mail any questions to perspective@cinematefilms.co.ukIf you haven't already, we'd love if you would take 1 minute to leave us a review on iTunes!Sponsored by - Beans.ie and With Jack, Insurance for FreelancersMusic Licensed via Artlist.io (get 2 months free with this link)Recorded at Two Ten CoPodcasting Gear:RodeCaster ProProcaster MicBoom ArmHeadphonesOther:Deliver your photos with Pic-Time (get a free month with code PERSPECTIVE)Run your photo and video business more efficiently with OctoaJoin me and invest commission-free with Freetrade. Welcome to PERSPECTIVE, a podcast for wedding creatives where we sit down, often with a special guest and talk about our many years of experience in the wedding industry so that you can learn from us and grow YOUR wedding business. On today's episode, we're talking to another one of my favourite wedding filmmakers Monika Frias A.K.A, La Txina, (La Che Na)This Dominican-born, Barcelona-based photographer and videographer can't explain why she's so into walking around wedding parties with a camera around her neck but It's clear Monika is attracted to hearing and retelling people's love stories and instead of using large amounts of audio and lighting equipment, Monika embeds herself and her camera into every party and catches unexpected moments from the inside. We'll find out the hows and why she creates what she does so If you're a gear head who just wants to find a simpler approach to shooting weddings or if you feel you're not really that great at shooting weddings, fear not. Yes we're going to be diving into this beautiful creatives back story and finding out what makes Monika tick as well as all about shooting and creating an amazing film when you're not the strongest of shooters. This is an episode by withjack and for a limited time TwoTenCo. Welcome to PERSPECTIVE, a podcast for wedding creatives where we sit down, often with a special guest and talk about our many years of experience in the wedding industry so that you can learn from us and grow YOUR wedding business. On Friday 26 June 2020 Arran Kenny of AKfilms pulled together the UK wedding videographers virtual workshop in order to raise funds for the Black Lives Matter movement. Included in the lineup of educators were Uniques visual, hushabye films, Richard Leng, Micaela Lindsay, handcraft pictures and us, Cinemate. The virtual workshop covered a whole range of topics and did in fact raise £840 for the BLM movement which was great! Since the event, we've actually invited many of the speakers to talk on previous episodes of the podcast but when Arran came to us and asked to talk about Elopements 101 we jumped at that chance.Just a note If you've joined our Patreon you get this podcast in video form. Welcome to Perspective || a podcast for wedding suppliers. In this episode, Simon and Gregg sit down with Tom JD Armstrong, lead shooter for Cinemate's associate team Lovelock Films. They introduce Tom to the podcast, who he is, his skills with the camera and why he works alongside them as well as mention some of his favourite projects thus far. The main topic of conversation isn't Tom however but their experience attending the For Love's Sake workshop which was held in Rotterdam earlier this year. The three talk in detail about their trip, being that this was both their second and first FLS workshops attended and discuss why they started going to this workshop and why they think its worth goes far beyond general shooting knowledge. It should be mentioned that not only did Cinemate attended the workshop but also did a small talk at the event too. Simon retells of his time on stage and why he pushed out of his comfort zone to educate. If you're a filmmaker in the wedding industry this episode will be enlightening.
