Few people in any industry can claim to have altered the direction of that industry, but David Leadbetter is one. When a playing career eluded him in the 1980s, he turned his mind and energies to coaching and from humble beginnings, has built one of the most recognisable golf instruction "brands" in the world. But along the way, Leadbetter's profile - and that of his successful clients - helped reshape the way golfers think about taking lessons, a change remaining in effect to this day. John Huggan sits down with Leadbetter to talk everything from his transformation of Nick Faldo's swing, to the one player he never got to work with but wanted to.
Sunday 20th April 2025 - North SiteSpeaker - Steph LeadbetterSteph shares the wonder, victory and power of the Easter story, and two of our Vineyard North family share what resurrection means to them.______________________Luke 24 v 1-121) On the first day of the week, very early in the morning, the women took the spices they had prepared and went to the tomb. 2) They found the stone rolled away from the tomb, 3) but when they entered, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. 4) While they were wondering about this, suddenly two men in clothes that gleamed like lightning stood beside them. 5) In their fright the women bowed down with their faces to the ground, but the men said to them, ‘Why do you look for the living among the dead? 6) He is not here; he has risen! Remember how he told you, while he was still with you in Galilee: 7) “The Son of Man must be delivered over to the hands of sinners, be crucified and on the third day be raised again.”' 8) Then they remembered his words.9) When they came back from the tomb, they told all these things to the Eleven and to all the others. 10) It was Mary Magdalene, Joanna, Mary the mother of James, and the others with them who told this to the apostles. 11) But they did not believe the women, because their words seemed to them like nonsense. 12) Peter, however, got up and ran to the tomb. Bending over, he saw the strips of linen lying by themselves, and he went away, wondering to himself what had happened._________________________Recorded at North Site - 20Apr2025
Can films and novels help us fight the battle against the multiple dangers of governments allowing assisted suicide? Creatives are often prophetic and their warnings tell truths imaginatively that others might miss. It's Day 2 of Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s confirmation hearing to be Health Secretary, and many are wondering how Republican Senator Bill Cassidy will vote. The former emergency room doctor has concerns about the vaccine skeptic. Although Cassidy mostly votes along party lines, he did vote to impeach Trump on Jan. 6 charges. The Times-Picayune/The Advocate's editorial director and columnist Stepahnie Grace joined the show to share the latest. The new movie about the life of Bob Dylan, “A Complete Unknown,” is shedding a light on the folk music revival. But many don't know how Louisiana musician Huddie Leadbetter, or Lead Belly, played a role in expanding the genre. While his framed portrait only makes a brief cameo in the film, Lead Belly was a big influence on folk artists like Bob Dylan, Pete Seeger and Woody Guthrie. Although the common narrative insists he was “discovered” by white folklorists while locked up in Angola Prison, a new book is separating fact from fiction. Sheila Curran Bernard is the author of “Bring Judgment Day: Reclaiming Lead Belly's Truths from Jim Crow's Lies.” She breaks down the myths of his career and how he expanded folk and blues music across the U.S. and Europe.Poor sanitation is a longstanding issue in the Gulf South, especially in Alabama's Black Belt where the soil is a problem for traditional septic systems. The state's previous rules for funding water infrastructure made it difficult for residents to fix sanitation issues themselves. Episode 83 features part one of a two-part conversation with Philip Clift about C.W. Leadbeater and his book "The Chakras". He begins by giving a little background and history on C.W. Leadbeater, his work, and the Theosophical Society. We explore what a chakra is and the culture that this information originated out of. We discuss Leadbetter's interpretation of the chakras and how they differ from some of the more common diagrams we normally see of them. We then spend some time going over each chakra, including their Sanskrit name, their placement in the body, and the corresponding rays and colors for each one. In part two we will explore how the 3 spinal channels, the vital force and the serpent fire all connect to the chakras, as well as some practical ways that people can connect and work with this information.

As a child, Jiddu Krishnamurti was named the vessel for the World Teacher by leading figures in the Theosophical Society, namely Charles Leadbetter and Annie Besant. He came to regard Besant as a second mother but his relationship with Leadbetter was more complicated. Leadbetter wrote a serialized account of Krishnamurti's previous lives, calling him Alcyone, and helped Krishnamurti make contact with the ascended masters of theosophy. But Krishnamurti and his family were conflicted by the way he had been set up to become the religious leader of thousands and thousands of people worldwide.

Hello again Fellow Golfists, This host made an investment in a golf training aide product that already shaved 5 strokes off my game in my most recent golf outing. I shot 75 on a golf course where I normally shoot 80 or 81. Under difficult conditions at my local municipal golf course I had a very good day of golf. I owe my success this past weekend to the device that is called the Leadbetter "Straight Away" training device from Performance Golf. David Leadbetter is internationally known for being the golf instructor that helped Nick Faldo win 6 major championships. Leadbetter has instructed many golf professionals to help them win on the PGA Tour and have victories in the world of major championship golf. Names like Price, Els, Faldo and Frost are most notable in my memory. This device helped me with my driver, my irons, and most surprisingly with my putter. I had a great time playing golf during the much cooler than anticipated Labor Day weekend in Northern California. I practiced with this new device at the Emerald Lakes Golf Course in Elk Grove California and also the Thunder Valley Golf Resort at Whitney Oaks in Rocklin California. Charles Leadbetter was one of the Blavatsky-trained second generation of theosophists and a frequent collaborator with Annie Besant. Leadbetter believed in reincarnation and his ability to recall past lives including an experience meeting Pythagoras in 504 BCE. Leadbetter claimed to have spent the next two-thousand-three-hundred years since meeting Pythagoras in the “heaven world” before being incarnated back on earth. While born without any memory of the heaven world, the lessons he learned there slowly returned to him, including recollecting a house where he'd resided in a previous life, revealed to him by one of the Masters. These lessons led him to the Anglican priesthood, and, ultimately to a leading role in developing a theosophical and allegorical occult interpretation of Christianity.

Description: Personal lessons in Joshua's life led him to be a wise leader who succeeded Moses. As Joshua chose valiant men with whom to fight Amalek, so God has called us to a battle against flesh and sin. Entrance into the Promised Land is not by our own merit or strength, but by abiding in the ecclesia, with the greater than Joshua, the Lord Jesus. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/christadelphians-talk/message

I don't golf. I honestly can't think of a less appealing sport, except for maybe mountain climbing or bull riding. I do appreciate the mix of the mental acuity with the physicality of a perfect swing of the club, however. There's a quote from English golf instructor, David Leadbetter, that perfectly frames this up. “Your final goal is to convert your athletic swing to pure instinct rather than conscious thought.” Leadbetter's words are as...
There is some delicious restaurant cooking happening in Charlotte, NC, and when I talk to many of the chefs responsible for it, more often than not, they point to Freshlist as one of their day-to-day partners making that possible. CEO Jesse Leadbetter was in sports licensing when he started growing his own food and it opened his eyes to the supply chain issues connecting Carolina farms to Carolina restaurants. So, he decided to build that connection. Freshlist is a food hub, started in 2014 to shift food production back to small-scale family farmers. Jesse and and his team, including director of operations and farm coordinator Erin Bradley, connect both home cooks and professional chefs to the products of more than 200 local farmers. Chefs (and those in Freshlist's delivery area) simply use an app to order fruits and vegetables from a variety of local farms, and then Freshlist delivers. In short, they've built a virtual farmers market,, and they're part of a growing number of food hubs in the country doing just this. But what happens at Freshlist and other food hubs isn't just about getting the right cantaloupe to the right chef -- it's about building community and strengthening it, one fruit and vegetable at a time.
