Since breathing is part of the autonomic nervous system, it is something that naturally occurs without you having to think about it… But when your brain detects threats (past, present or future), your Sympathetic Nervous system switches on and breathing automatically changes, whether you are aware of it or not ~ your nervous system then becomes hijacked which can influence your thoughts and create stress & tension! Through Free Refills, you are invited to take a few minutes to pause and witness your breath and allow your body to switch over naturally to the Parasympathetic Nervous system. In this space, you can make that connection to YOURSELF and find balance. As you continue working from the inside out! Watch on my YouTube channel for your “free refills” to support your mental, physical and emotional states. How are you breathing right now? The quality of your breath is important to your well-being, mentally, physically and energetically. When you become more aware of how you are breathing you can experience life with ease. By utilizing the techniques, I share in FREE REFILLS you can feel the difference in just minutes, shifting from stress & tensions to a more present state of peace. Does this happen overnight? Although you will feel the effects of intentional breathing, it does take time to retrain your body. Since your body has been conditioned into a specific breathing pattern, it takes practice and involves Awareness, Emotional Intelligence, Application, and REFLECTION to train your muscles and lungs to breathe with Intention. Within moments you can feel the difference within yourself ~ working from the inside out! Continuing in the series "Jesus: Friend of Sinners", Pastor Justin breaks down the story of Jesus meeting the woman at the well. Just the fact that Jesus (a Jew) had a conversation with this woman (a Samaritan) broke barriers. And while she may have been preparing herself to be mocked and ridiculed for her past, Jesus instead showed the woman that He knew everything about her, but loved her anyway. The same can be said for us.

On this episode of Juskow in the City -- Juskow is getting to sour on the City. The pride parade becomes maddening when Sarah Silverman and I are asked to take a subway so we can cross Fifth Avenue. This does not sit well with either of us. And take your pick on any parade that makes you do that. Grrrr. Also, the trip to Ireland with the Roastmaster General begins to weigh in on what I like to think of as "go with the flow" Juskow but. . . Also, the Chinese restaurant that came out of nowhere with the Fountain Soda my sister and I went on a 2 hours mission to try and get. But that's nothing -- An hour long rant on Free Refills rounds out the hour. What a podcast!! I wish I was joking. I better get to Dublin soon.

YouTube Link: God gives free refills. “God chose me because I was weak enough.” Hudson Taylor By: Pastor George Lehman Mark 2:17 (NIV) – On hearing this, Jesus said to them, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.” A distraught patient called her physician. “Tell me, Doctor, do I have to take the medication you prescribed for the rest of my life” “Yes, that’s right,” the doctor replied. “Then how serious is my condition?” the woman wanted to know. “Why do you ask?” “Because” the patient cried, “I just picked up my prescription and it’s marked ‘no refills!’” There are times we think God has left us. Have you ever experienced that feeling of ‘emptiness’? (You can do with a refill from God). Just ask someone who just bit a ‘red hot chilli’ and has an empty glass of water. Or when you’re travelling down the fast lane and your bike stops because you forgot to put in fuel – your fuel tank shows ‘empty’. The stress of ‘empty’ when your bank account is empty and you still have stop orders to come off. As Christians we also, at times, have to deal with the feeling of an ‘empty dwindling faith’. I know faith is supposed to grow and not dwindle but we all experience faith famines at one or other time in our walk with God. That feeling of emptiness. The good news is, you’re not alone. You can draw comfort to know some of the great heroes of the bible saw their faith dwindle. An amazing example was John the Baptist. Matthew 11:11 (LB) - Truly, of all men ever born, none shines more brightly than John the Baptist… He was a mighty preacher – boldly and courageously challenged people to repent. He clearly knew who Jesus was and why He came. Matthew 3:8 (NLT) – Prove by the way you live that you have repented of your sins and turned to God. John1:29 (Amp) - The next day John saw Jesus coming to him and said, “Look! There is the Lamb of God, Who takes away the sin of the world!” Later, circumstances were not so great – John finds himself in prison. Suddenly, the truth wasn’t so clear anymore. In fact John was in Prison because of his believe in Jesus was strong. John experienced an emptiness – his faith began to dwindle. Luke 7:18-19 (Amp) - And John's disciples brought him [who was now in prison] word of all these things. And John summoned to him a certain two of his disciples and sent them to the Lord, saying, Are You He Who is to come, or shall we [continue to] look for another? John’s question makes us realise that the radical followers of Jesus need a ‘faith refill’ too! Let me remind you: David Abraham / Moses The prophets (Elisha / Jeremiah) So many heroes of the bible needed a ‘refill’. So, don’t feel too bad if you feel that way at times. Sometimes you may feel so useless, like a failure, ‘what an excuse for a Christian I am’. Giving up becomes a serious option in your mind. Here’s more good news Jesus gave John’s messengers a specific answer - it holds the key to ‘refilling’ your faith. Luke 7:22 (Amp) - So He replied to them, Go and tell John what you have seen and heard: the blind receive their sight, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the poor have the good news (the Gospel) preached to them. Jesus never dragged out his favourite sermon file or all the prophetic words He could have quoted. John needed a life-line, not a lecture. He told John to look again at what He (Jesus) was accomplishing. Question: Can it be that simple to replenish your faith? If there was more, Jesus would have said so. He would have given John a detailed plan, or a list of requirements. Jesus was fully aware of John’s emptiness. Nothing has changed after all these years. ‘Faith refills’ are still free and can still be accomplished by focusing on Jesus. Hebrews 12:1-2 (NIV) - Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Don’t over-complicate the process. So many people think to get a ‘faith refill’ - something so valuable and so precious they must get it through some physical effort; more religious activities; restart our daily devotions for the thousandth time; get another Christian book; and we come and re-commit again and again and again… All these crazy activities, even well intentioned, will: - Sap your strength. - Dull your senses. - We will miss out on His small, still voice with all the noise. Luke 10:38-42 (Amp) - Now while they were on their way, it occurred that Jesus entered a certain village, and a woman named Martha received and welcomed Him into her house. And she had a sister named Mary, who seated herself at the Lord's feet and was listening to His teaching. But Martha [overly occupied and too busy] was distracted with much serving; and she came up to Him and said, Lord, is it nothing to You that my sister has left me to serve alone? Tell her then to help me [to lend a hand and do her part along with me]! But the Lord replied to her by saying, Martha, Martha, you are anxious and troubled about many things; There is need of only one or but a few things. Mary has chosen the good portion [that which is to her advantage], which shall not be taken away from her. God is calling us to ‘refill our faith’ by sitting at Jesus’ feet. And as Jesus said to John, that we will see again what Jesus did and is doing; what He said and the difference He makes in people’s lives. So that we can, once again, remind ourselves why we fell in love with Him in the first place. When that happens, mark my words: - You will be changed. - Your strength will be renewed. - Your passion will be re-kindled. - Your joy will be restored. - And your faith will be refilled. - o O o -

Floyd Sartin & Harlin Thomas ll. From the east-side of Detroit to the nation's capital, how did these two decide to “see it and be it” The owner’s of MochaBox Coffee made their childhood dreams of success into reality. Not that there weren’t a few obstacles placed in their path along the way. With drugs and gangs in the neighborhood’s they grew up in, what are the statistical chances for success? Building, pivoting, and adapting to Covid-19, and racial and social injustice issues with this fabulous AfricanAmerican small business. They are clearly bound for entrepreneurial success. With multiple college degrees between them, how easy was it to get started, and still what did they learn in a panel discussion that tells us all a lot about the coffee industry, subtle racism and the lack of inclusivity! From college experience, wing men, aspirations and how actually studying can help you graduate. Would you change religions for a date? Based on Katie's story we know where she got her motivation and desire to work with these great employees. Meet Ben, our next guest who has Fragile X syndrome, a genetic condition that causes a range of developmental problems including learning disabilities and cognitive impairment. He has been a team member at Aspire CoffeeWorks for the last five years, and is one of their biggest salesmen! What happened at an outreach during his presentation at a major law firm will not surprise you, once you listen to his interview! It takes lots of individuals, businesses and corporate connections to make this all work. Metropolis and Canteen are just two of the major partners. How did that come about and how can you get involved? We will take you through the whole program, selection hiring, training to full fledged “mock ups” of multiple real world opportunities. We tackle the rewards of stepping outside your comfort zone, related to people with disabilities. Much like the current challenges we face with social injustice and discrimination of people of color, we will remain fearful of people we don’t know. Katie encourages everyone to take a leap of faith and interact with these people with disabilities. Buy Aspire Coffee Now. Change a life and get award winning java.
