Við fjöllum um það sem helst vakti athygli okkar í borginni þessa daga, hvers vænta megi af nýjum forseta, um ofsafengin viðbrögð við litlum hlutum og annað sem helst hefur borið á góma á liðnum dögum – sumt í samhengi við það sem er að eiga sér stað heima fyrir og annað ekki.

Fótbóltslívið í Gøtu hevur fylt nógv og fyllir framvegis nógv í lívinum hjá 87 ára gamla norðragøtumanninum Martin Juul Jarnskor. Hesum greiðir hann frá í sendingini, og hann greiðir eisini frá sínum dramatisku upplivingum á sjónum. Kona Martin Juul, Henny, vaskaði øll klæðini hjá GÍ-leikarunum og hon hevði átta snórar runt um húsini, har allir teir gulu búnarnir hingu til turkingar. Tí fekk heimið hjá teimum navnið gulu húsini. Hjúnini áttu harafturat ein stóran part av GÍ-liðnum, tí allir synirnir spældu við. Martin Juul sigur, at íslendingurin Gisli, ið var venjari hjá GÍ í nøkur ár, var rætti maðurin felagið fekk fatur á.   -Tað er eingin ivi, at Gísli Magnusson úr Vestmannaoyggjum, sum var venjari hjá GÍ frá 1976 til 80, eigur størstu æruna av at fótbólturin í Gøtu hevur klárað seg so væl síðani. Eingin hevði kunnað gjørt honum tað eftir. Men Jóhan Petur Poulsen, sum nú er venjari, hevur sanniliga eisini klárað tað væl, sigur Martin Juul, sum avgjørt var ímóti at leggja fótbóltsfeløgini GÍ og LÍF saman. Hann heldur at GÍ kláraði seg so mikið væl, at tað var óneyðugt at leggja saman við felagnum hinumegin fjallið. Men fyri tað stuðlar hann kortini Víkingi líka nógv. Hann er framvegis dagliga  niðri á vøllinum og hyggur eftir venjingum.   Martin Juul er upphavsmaður til vinarlag millum Gøtu og seinni Eysturkommunu og Vestmannaoyggjar. Fólk úr báðum støðum hava fleiri ferðir vitjað hjá hvørjum øðrum og búð hjá privatfólki, og ein barr í Vestmannaoyggjum er uppkallað eftir norðragøtumanninum. Í útvarpssamrøðuni greiðir hann eisini frá skelkandi hendingum á sjónum. M.a. tá eldur kom í línuskipið Gøtunes og allir menn blivu bjargaðir, og eisini tá teir vóru illa staddir umborð á gamla Skálabergi. Og ein hægri hond var eisini við, tá hann tvær ferðir var illa staddur, tá hann fiskaði gággu á Gøtuvík.   -Tað er yvrhøvur eingin ivi. Fleiri ferðir hevur ein hægri hond verið yvir mær og bjargað mær á sjónum og tað eri eg takksamur fyri, sigur Martin Juul Jarnskor.

Gisli Olafsson is a disaster expert, speaker, and advisor on innovation and digital transformation in the social good sector. He is the Chief Technology Officer of One Acre Fund, an African based NGO that is helping small-holder farmers out of extreme poverty. The Heart of Robin Hood is the new family show at the RSC. But it's the Robin Hood story with a twist. The production is directed by Gisli Örn Gardarsson, who has a reputation for challenging staging. Andrew Dickson reviews. Novelists Joanna Trollope and Tracy Chevalier discuss how a selection of Tudor portraits of unknown people at the National Portrait Gallery in London inspired them to invent fictional biographies for the mystery portrait sitters. Professional double-bass player Andy Wood and percussion instrument maker Paul Jefferies discuss making music out of scrap, and perform with instruments including a boiler double bass and tea urn snare drum. The challenge, to be shown in a BBC4 documentary, was to build a Scrapheap Orchestra in 11 weeks and perform Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture at the 2011 Proms. And John Wilson concludes his reports on the Turner-Prize-shortlisted artists when he meets painter George Shaw, whose landscapes feature the area of Coventry where he grew up. Rita Tushingham's breakthrough movie 'Taste of Honey' is celebrating its 50th anniversary with a screening in Liverpool, her hometown, as part of this year's 'Homotopia Festival'. Rita won a Bafta and a Golden Globe for her portrayal of Jo, a young girl with a difficult mother, leaving home, living with a gay flatmate and getting pregnant. Gillian Lynne is the former ballerina, theatre director and renowned choreographer, best known for her iconic choreography of shows including 'Cats' and 'Phantom of the Opera'. Her memoir, 'A Dancer in Wartime - one girl's journey from the Blitz to Sadler's Wells' is published by Chatto & Windus. Gisli Örn Gardarsson is an Icelandic actor and director, who originally trained as a gymnast. His theatre company Vesturport is best known for its gymnastic productions, circus skills and leftfield set designs which he is about to bring to the RSC at Stratford-upon-Avon in David Farr's new version on the much loved myth of Robin Hood. 'The Heart of Robin Hood' is at the Royal Shakespeare Theatre in Stratford over Christmas. Producer: Chris Paling.

Dr Emily Lethbridge, a Cambridge University academic, is exploring the centuries-old Sagas of Icelanders (Íslendingasögur) during a unique year-long research trip. Emily is discovering that the sagas are closely intertwined with the landscapes and the people who live there. The sagas were copied in manuscripts in Iceland from the medieval period until the early 20th century, and the stories were passed down from one generation to another over many hundreds of years.
