In this episode of By Any Means Necessary, hosts Sean Blackmon and Jacquie Luqman are joined by investigative journalist Greg Palast to discuss his new book "How Trump Stole 2020," the continuing epidemic of voter suppression targeting poor and oppressed communities, and why the return of "Jim Crow trickery" is no surprise in a electoral system steeped in systemic racism. In the second segment, Sean and Jacquie are joined by Amzat Boukari-Yabara, historian and author of "Africa Unite!", to talk about the recent killing of anti-police brutality protesters at the Lekki Toll Gate in Lagos, Nigeria, the role of the notorious SARS unit in provoking ongoing street-based and online resistance, and why current social conditions show Nigeria is in a kind of "pre-revolutionary moment."In the third segment, Sean and Jacquie are joined by technologist Chris Garaffa, to discuss a new anti-trust lawsuit brought against Google and Apple, the deeply troubling conspiracy it alleges between increasingly powerful Big Tech companies, and the new "deepfake" bot pumping out fabricated nude photos of real people.Later in the show, Sean and Jacquie are joined by Esther Iverem, artist, author and independent journalist, host and producer of "On The Ground: Voices of Resistance from the Nation's Capital" on Pacifica Radio, to talk about the latest racist comments from the Trump administration, the seemingly-inevitable confirmation of right-wing Judge Amey Coney Barrett to the Supreme Court, and why attempts to sabotage the longstanding solidarity links between Black people in the US and Palestinians resisting racist state violence seem unlikely to succeed.

Greg Palast is an investigative journalist whose work has been featured by the BBC, the Guardian, the Nation, and Rolling Stone. He is one of the United States' and the world's foremost experts on voter suppression, vote theft and vote fraud. He is the author of the bestselling books Billionaires & Ballot Bandits and The Best Democracy Money Can Buy. His new book is How Trump Stole 2020. They also explain Trump's public plot to use violence, rigged courts, and Republican legislatures to steal the 2020 election from Joe Biden and the American people, and why so many voices in the mainstream news media continue to be in denial about what is happening with a fascist authoritarian coup in progress. Chauncey DeVega, Greg Palast, and Jared Yates Sexton also assess Joe Biden's failure of a performance and why Donald Trump was able to defeat him by turning the first debate into a fascist brawl which Biden, like most other Democrats, is not able to understand or win. This is part of a plan that may also include intimidation and perhaps even coordinated violence and acts of terrorism by pro-Trump paramilitaries and other forces against post offices, polling stations and other election facilities. In this episode of Keiser Report’s annual Summer Solutions series, Max and Stacy chat to journalist Greg Palast about his new book, ‘How Trump Stole 2020’. They talk about the vote suppression schemes pushed by both parties, but especially the Republicans, who’ve knocked millions of people off the voter rolls in the past few years. Black American males are the most likely to be challenged for identification at the voting booth, while many new residency requirements have targeted students. They also discuss meme warfare, hanging chads, banana republics, and failed voting apps. Finally, they discuss ways to “steal the election back,” using tools laid out in Greg’s book, including checking online to make sure you are registered to vote!

On this edition of Parallax Views, much has been said about election integrity in the last two decades from concerns over the potential for malfeasance with electronic voting machines to the discussions that ensued over allegations of Russian interference in the 2016 Presidential election. Investigative journalist Greg Palast, a long-time and accomplished muckraker, however, has spent the past two decades focusing on an aspect of election integrity far too often overlooked and without any speculation necessary a very real problem: vote purging. In others word, Palast has been on the trail of members of the American electorate who have been vanished, or purge, from the voter rolls. Palast joins us to discuss How Trump Stole 2020, his latest book on the subject, and how we can steal the vote back. Among the topics we cover:- What voter purging is and how it differs from other issues related to election integrity such as concerns about the integrity of electronic voting machine or the allegations of Russian interference in the 2016 election - Gov. Brian Kemp and other the billionaires behind the voter purges Greg has investigated. What is the motivation? Greg says, "Follow the money." - How the issue of voter purges and vanishing votes relates to issues related to racism, class, and the concerns of Black Lives Matter (BLM). - The voter suppression issue as it relates to students - The stories of those who have had their votes purged - The work of investigative journalist and voting rights attorney Bob Fitrakis in Ohio and "Bush's Brain" Karl Rove's curious comments from when Obama won the election in Ohio - And much, much more.
Greg Palast is an investigative journalist & NY Times bestselling author. Some of his books are; Armed Madhouse, The Best Democracy Money Can Buy, Vultures' Picnic, Billionaires & Ballot Bandits, and his new book How Trump Stole 2020: The Hunt for America's Vanished Voters, which is out now.
Today on Sojourner Truth: Voter suppression efforts are being stepped up by the Trump administration in the lead up to the November 2020 elections. This, following a spate of voter suppression measures put in place across the United States after the 2013 decision by the U.S. Supreme Court to gut a key section of the voting rights act. Is your vote under threat? States with some form of voter suppression include Alabama, Arizona, Indiana, Kansas, Mississippi, Nebraska, New Hampshire, Ohio, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, Wisconsin, Arkansas, North Dakota, Georgia and others. In what is noted as a blatantly partisan move, Trump, on the one hand, praises Florida's vote by mail program (Florida, being led by a Republican). Meanwhile, he's suing Nevada (led by a Democrat) for precisely implementing vote by mail in that state. All of this, after Trump has spent months blasting vote by mail as a fraud, an unproven claim. What are we in for in the upcoming election? Our guest is Greg Palast, the author of several New York Times bestsellers, including "The Best Democracy Money Can Buy" and "Armed Madhouse." His latest book is titled, "How Trump Stole 2020." Palast has also produced investigative reports for BBC Television, The Guardian, Democracy Now! and Rolling Stone. Also, there is concern about a slow-motion coup in Ecuador. The government of President Lenin Moreno is being accused of eroding democratic rights and suppressing opposition from the progressive left. On July 19, the South American country's National Electoral Council suspended four political parties and banned them from taking part in the 2021 general elections. The suspended parties include the Social Commitment Force Party, led by former President Rafael Correa, who served in office from 2007 to 2017. Our guest is Guillaume Long, a senior policy analyst at the Center for Economic and Policy Research. Prior to joining CEPR, Guillaume held several cabinet positions in the government of Ecuador, including Minister of Foreign Affairs, Minister of Culture, and Minister of Knowledge and Human Talent. Also, today marks the 75th anniversary of the U.S. dropping a nuclear weapon on Hiroshima, Japan. We mark the occasion by remembering the victims as well as underscoring the dangerous nuclear arms race now underway worldwide. Lastly, our weekly Earth Minute presented by the Global Justice Ecology Project.

Trump and the GOP are playing us AGAIN. By attacking vote-by-mail as being highly prone to fraud by voters (it's not, BTW), he's tricked the establishment Dems into a full throated defense of it. Why is that a problem? Because voting by mail DOES have a major flaw, but IN TRUMP'S FAVOR: many, and I mean MANY places have managed to put regulations and shady tricks in place to cause MILLIONS of mailed votes to be discarded by those we've trusted to COUNT them. And whose votes are the most likely to be discarded? College students, black people and low-income city folk... in other words, demographics the GOP does very poorly with. But don't take my word for it. Greg Palast has it all laid out in his book, "How Trump Stole 2020”. Don't be fooled into JUST voting by mail: be sure to steal your vote BACK. Also in the episode: figures don't lie, but liars do figure, and that's never been more true than with the current pandemic. Listen in on how to properly understand the numbers, and how to tell when someone's abusing them to distort reality. Finally, we talk about the federal response to Portland's BLM/George Floyd protest, and how those aren't ACTUALLY all FEDERAL agents bring used against the protestors. Don't miss this episode of TMI, fresh from its return to WSUM!

Journalist Ethan Cox joins us to discuss what it all means and the importance of independent media in Canada. The WE scandal has made us ask the question, just what is the acceptable level of corruption in government? With the PM testifying today, for his THIRD alleged ethical misstep, we'll look at what this means for Canadians. Then we're joined by investigative journalist Greg Palast whose new book, How Trump Stole 2020, examines voter suppression and the rigging of the US election by Republicans. It's a warning about the future and gives us a look into the conservative playbook. Support this podcast
As the polls go, it looks more and more likely that there's no way Trump could possibly win the next election. However, that might not matter because, with a combination of tricks used in 2016 and brand new avenues that have been opened up since, Trump has already stolen the 2020 election. But don't lose hope! Joining us this episode is Greg Palast, author of "How Trump Stole 2020", and he's not only here to outline how the crime was committed, but how we can steal it back. You'd better listen in (and should probably get the book), if the integrity of your vote means anything to you at all.

Election Day is less than four months away. Between closing poll sites, purging voter rolls, manipulating voting machines, and putting obstacles in the way of voting by mail, the Trump administration and many state governments want to keep you from voting. Investigative reporter GREG PALAST has been working this beat since 2000. His latest book is a warning: HOW TRUMP STOLE 2020: The Hunt For America's Vanished Voters. What are they up to and how can we foil them?
In this first of a 2 part series, with award winning author and investigative journalist Greg Palast, we discuss at length the extreme importance of all journalist to rigorously defend Assange against the ominous and unprecedented espionage act charges indictment facing the Wikileaks founder and editor. Palast scoffs at the notion that Assange 2016 DNC and Podesta revelations were responsible for the victory by Donald Trump. In Palast latest book, How Trump Stole 2020, he conclusively proves that massive election fraud cost the democratic nominee the 2016 election. Palast also documents how the GOP is using the same fraudulent techniques to secure Trump's 2020 reelection.
On this episode of Going Underground, we speak to legendary character actor Luis Guzman. He discusses the impact of coronavirus and the lessons he has learned in his personal life regarding diet and nutrition to get healthier, the Black Lives Matter protests which have swept the United States and other countries, the toppling of statues such as those of Christopher Columbus, how the brutal history of imperialism isn’t taught in US schools, why the war on drugs has been a failure, and much more! Finally, we speak to Greg Palast, author of ‘How Trump Stole 2020.’ He discusses why Donald Trump has likely already won the 2020 election despite Joe Biden being massively ahead in the polls, how tricks related to direct mailing and the removal of tens of millions of Americans from voter rolls is changing the outcomes of elections, how Republicans are engaged in voter suppression against African-American voters, why the mass mail-in ballot voting method will mean Trump winning 2020, and more!

Ep. 24: "How Trump Stole 2020" feat. Greg Palast "Voter suppression is simply class war by other means." Greg Palast is an investigative journalist who has written for the Guardian, BBC Television, Democracy Now!, Rolling Stone, and more. In 2001, he exposed how Florida was stolen from Al Gore, and since then, one of his main focuses has been voter suppression in the US. On this topic, he has few peers and has unearthed numerous scandals that deserve greater attention. Mr. Palast's new book, "How Trump Stole 2020: The hunt for America's Vanished Voters," was released this week, and is available at gregpalast.com. I was fortunate enough to receive an advance copy from Seven Stories Press so I had a chance to read it before this interview. As with Palast's writing in general, it achieves that all too rare combination of being both informative and entertaining. We discussed the moneyed interests behind voter suppression, including the Koch brothers, Paul "the Vulture" Singer, Georgia Pacific (the logging company), Georgia Power (the utility); the gutting of the Voting Rights Act in 2013; how exit polls show widespread voter suppression in 2016; the problems with mail-in voting; and how voter suppression is class war. At the end of our conversation, he extends an offer for how to get the audio book for free if you purchase the hard copy during this first week of release. (One clarifying note: Mr. Palast talks to me here as though I'm an official staff member of Counterpunch, even though I'm merely an unpaid contributor. I didn't intend for him to get that impression, but that explains how he talks to me in a couple places.) Greg Palast is an investigative journalist whose work has been featured by the BBC, the Guardian, the Nation, and Rolling Stone. He is one of the United States’ and the world’s foremost experts on voter suppression, vote theft and vote fraud. He is the author of the bestselling books Billionaires & Ballot Bandits and The Best Democracy Money Can Buy. His new book is How Trump Stole 2020. Greg Palast warns that Joe Biden’s chances against Donald Trump are far worse than the polls would suggest because millions of Democrats will have their votes thrown out on Election Day. Moreover, many of these same Democratic Party voters have no idea that their votes were purged and therefore not counted. Palast also explains how -- as recently shown during the Georgia Democratic Primaries -- the Republican Party has refined its strategy of voter suppression, voter intimidation and vote theft. This is the playbook for how Donald Trump and his Republican Party will steal the 2020 presidential election. WHERE CAN YOU FIND ME? Caroline Light, professor and researcher at Harvard and the author of “Stand Your Ground: A History of America’s Love Affair With Lethal Self-Defense,” tells Misfit hosts Bob Schlehuber and Jamarl Thomas that this moment has given her a lot of reason to hope as no time in the recent past has. She discusses the effects of encouraging citizens to carry lethal weapons in public to protect their property, and how the murder of Ahmaud Arbery crystallized centuries of legal discrimination and a culture that reveres whiteness, as well as the role the military has played in suppressing protest. Steve Grumbine, founder of the nonprofit Real Progressives and host of the podcast Macro n Cheese, explains that oversight of the CARES Act has been criminally negligent and is clearly benefiting the already wealthy rather than suffering American workers. This is a bipartisan robbery of the populace, as usual. He talked about what the real national debt is, how debt-scaring is used to punish the poor, and how debt hawks only end up starving the economy.Investigative reporter and documentarian Greg Palast, author of “The Best Democracy Money Can Buy” and the upcoming book “How Trump Stole 2020: the Hunt for America’s Vanished Voters,” describes the police violence he’s seen on the streets of Los Angeles and then breaks down Georgia’s role as a testing ground for different types of vote suppression. Democrats do it too, he warns, but unlike Republicans, they’re trying to suppress their own left wing voters, a faction that usually breaks down along racial lines. He describes voter suppression efforts he’s witnessed in the recent past, and how voters have successfully challenged some of those efforts.Karleigh Webb, journalist, videographer and organizer, says the moment we’re in right now in the US is unique, with its closest analogue the post-Civil War labor rights. The coronavirus is helping push this wave of radicalization by showing how vulnerable so many of us are, regardless of our kaleidoscope of individual identities, and the violence meted out by police is showing people who considered themselves untouchable that they in fact are not.
The Republicans could use the fraudulent hysteria they’ve whipped up about vote-by-mail fraud to steal the presidency in the event that Donald Trump fails to win the Electoral College. Constitutional expert Thom Hartmann and I are concerned the GOP-controlled Legislatures could claim that mail-in ballots are fraudulent and thereby refuse to certify a Democratic win in states such as Wisconsin and Georgia. By refusing to send electors to the Electoral College and thereby denying any candidate 270 votes in the Electoral College, under Article XII of the Constitution, the election shifts to the House of Representatives whose members will cast one vote per state — Wyoming gets the same vote as California. Trump would then be “reelected” even if he loses both the popular vote and the Electoral College. That’s what happened in 1824 when John Quincy Adams LOST the popular vote and electoral vote but was elected by the House — a total swindle! In this edition of the Election Crimes Bulletin, Palast and Bernstein explore the real and present danger presented by Article XII of the Constitution. They also reveal how the GOP have used and abused the legal system to snatch victory from the jaws of recent defeats in Texas and Wisconsin, and how Georgia’s Brian Kemp has colluded with right-wingers in the judiciary to do away with an election altogether, because why bother stealing an election if you can simply cancel it and appoint a winner instead?
