Pipe Dreams Podcast is back for Episode 29 with Jake Lewis, a racer who grew up in the racing hotbed of Owensboro, Kentucky—right alongside the Hayden family—and lived the sport from day one. Coming up through the ranks with Earl's Racing Team, Jake was on a serious program early, laying the foundation for what would become a standout pro career. We talk about that disciplined upbringing, the sacrifices it took, and how that path led to him achieving his dream: signing with Factory Yoshimura Suzuki for a Superbike ride at just 19 years old. From dominating in WERA, USGPRU, and AMA Pro Racing, to bouncing back from injuries and taking a year off to claiming a MotoAmerica Superstock 1000 title, Jake's story is one of grit and adaptation. He shares what it was like achieving his dream so young and now, finding his love for the sport again in the MotoAmerica SuperSport, Hooligan and Bagger class.Jake gets real about career highs and lows, what drives him to keep racing, and how he's stayed grounded through it all.Follow @pipedreams_pod on social media!____________________________________________________________________________________Please support our partners: Law Tigers Motorcycle Attorney's: If you ever find yourself in an incident that may or may not require legal representation please call 1-800-Law-Tigers.- No recovery, no fee for personal injury claims, and no expenses unless there is a recovery.- Fees calculated as a percentage of the gross recovery.- FREE representation for motorcycle property damage claims- FREE advice on all motorcycle matters For more info visit https://lawtigers.com/____________________________________________________________________________________Yuasa Battery: Setting the standard for powersports batteries since 1979. Jake Lewis's 2024 MotoAmerica season was what you could call sneaky good. Until you look at the results, you probably don't know that Lewis ended the season ranked fourth in Supersport (with four podiums and a win), third in the Mission Super Hooligan National Championship (with a win), and seventh in the Mission King Of The Baggers title chase. And Lewis has kept that momentum going with an exhilarating victory in the second of two Hooligan races at Daytona International Speedway to start his season, a season that will see him racing again in Hooligan and King Of The Baggers as well as Supersport - this time on a Altus Motorsports Yamaha YZF-R9. We caught up with Lewis from his palatial estate in Kentucky to talk about all that and more on this week's episode of Off Track With Carruthers And Bice.Support the show

In this episode of The Ty Brady Way, host Ty Brady sits down with Clint Allred, a high school lacrosse player turned resilient leukemia survivor and successful real estate agent. Clint, recommended by a previous guest, Jake Lewis, shares his inspiring journey from playing high school lacrosse in Harriman to facing multiple bouts of leukemia. The conversation kicks off with Clint reminiscing about his high school lacrosse days and the state championship win, highlighting his passion for the sport and his transition from football to lacrosse. As the discussion deepens, Clint opens up about his unexpected leukemia diagnosis at the age of 17, just after his junior year of high school. He recounts the initial signs, such as getting winded on the lacrosse field and persistent illness after wisdom teeth removal, which led to the shocking discovery of his illness. Clint's narrative becomes even more compelling as he describes his multiple relapses, including the emotional and physical tolls of undergoing two bone marrow transplants and countless chemotherapy rounds. Despite these daunting challenges, Clint's determination and strength shine through, particularly as he navigates the mental battles accompanying his health struggles. The podcast also explores the impact of Clint's illness on his perspective on life and how he managed to maintain a positive outlook. Ty shares his personal scare with leukemia, creating a poignant connection between host and guest. Clint's advice to others facing significant challenges is both heartfelt and practical: stay positive, avoid becoming a victim of circumstances, and strive to see beyond the immediate difficulties. His message resonates deeply, emphasizing the importance of resilience and forward-thinking in overcoming life's obstacles. Concluding the episode, Clint discusses his transition into real estate, a career he pursued while recovering in the hospital. Starting at 19, Clint quickly established himself in the industry, driven by his entrepreneurial spirit. He shares his plans for the future, including building a small, efficient real estate team and delving into real estate investing. About the Show: We recently sat down with Jake Lewis, the founder of WoodWorx Workshop. Jake is a talented artist and woodworker. He learned to marry his passion for woodworking and art with business. He takes recycled wood and repurposes them into works of art for all to enjoy - see some of the examples in the show notes below. I spent some time in Jake’s tidy little workshop just off the Greenway on the Fayetteville and Johnson line, where I got a chance to watch work on one of his new creations, and then we sat down to talk shop - no pun intended. Jake shared an example of how he learned to handle wood and the tools necessary to make his works of art. He is pretty much self-taught, and from the looks of the art that he is creating, he had a great teacher. Jake attends many Craft Fairs around the State and is a regular fixture at the Bentonville Market, Ozark Natural Foods, and the Velvet Otter. All this and more on this I am Northwest Arkansas episode. Important Links and Mentions on the Show*: WoodWorx Workshop 6302 S. Their focus is personal and community banking. When you bank with a community bank, you’re investing in local businesses, local entrepreneurs, local charities, and the causes close to home. Signature Bank has worked hard to earn its tagline, “Community Banking at its Best.” You may ask why bank at Signature? Because they put the focus on the customer instead of on having a branch on every corner, this means you can have your questions answered by a real person, whether you’re reaching out to the call center or your banker’s cell phone. You can access any ATM in the country without fear of a fee. They will refund all of those fees at the end of every month. Finally, they are constantly improving their digital offerings to make sure you can access the best financial tools from your laptop, phone, or tablet 24 hours a day. Signature Bank of Arkansas is a full-service bank offering traditional checking and savings accounts, investment accounts, business and personal loans, and mortgages. This week's guest is Beth Allison Barr, author of the new book The Making of Biblical Womanhood: How the Subjugation of Women Became Gospel Truth. I'm joined by two guest co-hosts, Emily Autenrieth and Laura Navarro. The theology and practice of complementarianism in conservative Christian circles has shaped the lives of millions of women. For over a century, it has oppressed women and become a requirement for involvement and belonging in conservative churches. Dr. Barr's expertise in church history illustrates that - despite the claims of complementarianism's proponents - this is a newer understanding of Christian history and scripture, and not an unchanging, millennia-long orthodox belief. This is a book that will spur conversation inside and outside the church. You can purchase the book here or from A Seat at the Table Books. My guest this week is Sarah Posner, author of the book Unholy: Why White Evangelicals Worship at the Altar of Donald Trump (Bookshop, Amazon). In her book, Sarah details the intellectual and social connections between the New Right, the Religious Right, and alt-right - and the ways in which white evangelicals provide moral and political cover for the Trump administration. Further, her work indicates the ways in which the Trump administration has rewarded white evangelical support by pursuing policies in line with their interests. Unholy is an essential text for anyone who hopes to understand that evangelical support for Trump is not an aberration but rather a culmination of decades of work within conservative circles. Jake Lewis lives in Brooklyn, but came from a very religious family growing up in Central PA. Dan and Jake have a very frank and honest talk about Jake's full on rebellion in his teen years, his need to settle down by the time he was 20, and how it's all influenced his music from it's beginnings to now. Jake has a new record out called 'Honey Moon', and it's an amazing blend of singer-songwriter folk and ambient, almost psychedelic tones and arrangements.
