What does it really take to leave home, risk it all, and start over in the heart of country music? On this episode of Bringin' It Backwards, Adam and Tera Lisicky sit down with rising country artist Charly Reynolds for a candid look at her journey from growing up in Orlando, Florida—where Disney magic and country music mixed in unexpected ways—to hustling her way onto Nashville's famed Broadway stages. Charly opens up about the real struggles (and not-so-glamorous jobs at Chick-fil-A) that paved the road from high school release shows to playing the Wildhorse Saloon, founding her sound, and becoming an independent artist with a debut album, "Off the Record." She unpacks the self-doubt, hustle, and tenacity it takes to make a name for yourself in Nashville's daunting music scene, all while learning to tune out the noise and stay true to your vision. From her love of Disney princesses and early Taylor Swift inspiration to the lessons learned from four-hour sets on lower Broadway—and even a battle with vocal cord surgery—Charly's story is proof that the path to stardom is far from straight, but it's always authentic. Whether you're grinding your way through music city, searching for your artistic voice, or just love a story of raw perseverance, this episode is for you. Listen in, get inspired, and don't forget to subscribe for more honest artist stories on Bringin' It Backwards.

https://www.drewparkermusic.com It takes some folks 10 years to make a name for themselves in Music City, but in the three short years that Drew Parker has lived in Nashville, TN, he has been able to accomplish things he never dreamed were possible.Coming from a small, unincorporated town of Stewart, Georgia (located in Covington, Georgia), Parker began singing at age 3 in front of small church crowds. Over the years, he began to build his confidence and, at age 14, he decided to pick up a guitar and teach himself how to play songs from his inspirations, such as Keith Whitley, Merle Haggard, Waylon Jennings, Travis Tritt, and Alan Jackson. At age 18, he expanded his musical abilities and learned to play piano, both of which he still uses today to craft lyrics and rhymes into songs. Parker made the move to Nashville, Tennessee in 2015 and signed a publishing deal with RiverHouse/WarnerChappell in September of 2017. He is a co-writer on Luke Combs' debut platinum record “This Ones For You”, Jake Owen's single “Homemade” and Luke Combs' “1,2 Many”. Aside from his cowboy hat and boots, Drew Parker is the definition of true country. He is genuine, honest, and carries an old soul that resonates with many. He is on the rise and sees no end in sight. MUSICLYRICAL WORD-SMITHING IS A COMMODITY HOW MET LUKE COMBS?OLD SCHOOL ARTISTS YOU ADMIRED MOST? Send us a textI'm a sucker for a country music power ballad, and I can still remember the moment the early 2000s hit "What I Really Meant to Say" stopped me in my tracks. Written and recorded by Cyndi Thomson—a stunning, talented artist from south Georgia with an angelic voice—this song took over the charts in no time. At the height of her career, she seemed to have it all, yet behind the success, Cyndi was battling crippling anxiety. After just one album, she made the difficult decision to step away from the music industry. The years that followed brought new chapters: family, motherhood, a thriving jewelry design career, and a deepening of her faith, which she now shares in the most beautiful way. Now, Cyndi is returning to music, with new tracks that showcase some of her best work yet. A full EP is set to drop in late spring, and Cyndi has so much more of her story to tell.Let's dive into my conversation with Cyndi Thomson.LEARN MORE ABOUT CYNDI'S VINTAGE JEWELRY LINE, HAYBELLE AT WWW.CYNDITHOMSON.COM Visit www.gotitfrommymommapodcast.comBecome an INSIDER by subscriber to our newsletter on the websiteThank you to our generous Got It From My Momma podcast friends! Next up is Hermann Farm and Distillery's Black Shire Blackberry Flavored Whiskey, a true dessert whiskey that's perfect over ice or warmed. In the second half, Big Chief shares some Garrison Brothers Honeydew—a wheated bourbon with a gentle honey touch that makes for an ideal nightcap. To wrap up, Chloe gets the honor of helping Chief polish off one of his all-time favorites, a Honey Cask from Giant Texas Distillery. With notes of sorghum molasses, figs, and a kick of cinnamon spice, it's one he'll miss. This episode brings together two of Big Chief's great loves: soulful music and remarkable whiskey. Cheers to another unforgettable ride on The Whiskey Trip!

On this episode, Sheldon and Tristan chat with Dallas about his dedication to his role as a sniper in the Canadian Military, the record-breaking sniper shot, as well as his transition to country music artist.
Dallas Alexander grew up in a very small, Canadian town, where he spent most of his days outdoors and dreaming of hockey. When his junior hockey days came to an end, a co-worker out in the oil fields, introduced him to the JTF 2 Special Operations Force. With very little knowledge of this elite group, he became very intrigued and began his pursuit within the Canadian military, with the goal of joining this elite class. Within a short period of time, he made it through selections and found himself a part of the JTF 2 unit. Throughout the process, he gravitated to the sniper unit and excelled to become a tier 1 sniper within JTF 2.Dallas and his team, made headlines when they claimed the World's furthest sniper kill shot while in Afghanistan. We take a deep dive into the events the led up to that shot, the mindset of a sniper, and all that goes into the teams objective.Dallas decided to part ways from the military (we discuss why) and found a new passion in music. There was just something about live music that drew him in instantly. He has taken the same focus and determination, he did while pursuing the JTF 2 unit, and is now implementing that towards song writing and performing. This fall, we can expect his first album and he has recently released his debut single, "Adios Amigo," along with a music video, highlighting that notorious kill shot.
