Matt Stephens chats to Paul Double about his journey from development rider at Zappi's Racing Team to winning World Tour stages for Jayco AlUla. Unlike recent trends, Paul's route to the top tier of pro cycling has been a steady development over many years of racing through the ranks, only signing his first World Tour contract at 28. He's a gritty, determined climber with a decent sprint - so he's certainly one to watch if he's chosen for this season's Giro d'Italia. Not only is he a fantastica bike racer, but he can sing and play guitar too! Paul treats us to a rendition of Zach Bryan's “Something in the Orange” at the end of the podcast. Enjoy! Michal Baláž je PR manažér motoristického klubu Maco Racing Team a otec motocyklového pretekára Matiasa Baláža.

In this episode, we're talking with the team behind Freedom One Racing, a new name making waves at this year's Lake of the Ozarks Shootout. The Shootout's loose rules invite wild setups, and Freedom One didn't disappoint, bringing a brand-new 388 Skater powered by twin 4,000-hp 4.9-inch bore, all-aluminum Noonan Hemi Pro Mod drag racing engines.  The boat's engines are a marvel of engineering much of which is familiar to the 1/4 mile crowd, but unconventional to general marine performance guys. Topped by PSI screw blowers, the engines feature dry blocks (no water jackets) and require no cooling system. They employ MoTeC engine management systems and route the power to the surface drives through Coan Turbo 400-style three-speed transmissions.  The Freedom One boat was purpose-built for shootout style events like LOTO and came together just days before hitting the water. While some mechanical hiccups kept them from a full-speed pass, they still managed to hit 170 mph officially (202 mph unofficially). Not bad for their first outing!   We hear from team members Noah and Ryan Ola and Ryan Greco, as they discuss how this project came together, their big plans to break the LOTO top speed record, and why Freedom One is more than just a racing team—it's a philanthropic effort with a mission to give back. CELSIUS and Ferrari. Monster Energy and was Mercedes-AMG for many years but is now with McLaren. And you can't overlook the current top Formula 1 team…Red Bull. It's probably hard to imagine now, but there was a time in the early 1990s when there weren't any energy drinks sponsoring F1 racing teams. Similarly, it's probably hard to imagine now…but in next thirty years we might be saying the same thing about supplement brands. Now…I'm sure every F1 racing team has some type of product allocation arrangement with certain supplement brands, but that's rookie-level sports marketing tactics compared to the recent THG and Williams Racing partnership. THG Ingenuity will provide Williams Racing with a broad range of services, including across technology, ecommerce, and sustainability, while Myprotein will assist with nutrition. Will this be the tipping point for the supplement industry to dive deeper into F1? As their advocacy efforts, they use the racing team itself as the moving billboard to advertise Bitcoin, gaining attention from the motorsports fanbase. More than branding and sponsorship, it's using the appeal of racing to teach a bigger audience about Bitcoin and its possible impact on the global market and individual financial freedom. The universal power of sports shows how it can break barriers and make the complex concept of Bitcoin relatable and understandable to more people. Much like the loyal fanbase of motorsports racing, Bitcoin also forms communities with common ground and beliefs. It brings people together for their shared values and goals.Charlie also shares their family's Bitcoin journey, from discovering Bitcoin and using it to avoid further financial crises to advocating it in the world of racing. It truly made an impact on their lives. Stories like these serve as a powerful tool to help other people see the potential of Bitcoin. They also discuss Bitcoin in El Salvador and how the country continues to be a trailblazer in Bitcoin adoption, becoming a real-world proof of how Bitcoin can serve as a tool for economic empowerment and social change.
