Maryland controlled the game defensively, holding Michigan to 65 points and continuing their road win streak by beating the No. 17 Wolverines. After losing four straight road games to start the season, Maryland is a couple of buzzer-beater losses away from a seven-game road stream and rolling into the postseason. Afterwards, Jeff and Paul broke down the win along with: Selton Miguel looking increasingly like the X-Factor. Second-half Rodney Rice remains a thing. Maryland's offense is sagging lately and Julian Reese has 14 points in the past three games combined. Jordan Geronimo ends an unthinkable bench scoring drought and he's been an increasing energy boost. They also answered listener questions, including: How high can their NCAA seed rise? Will Maryland follow the lead of Nebraska and others and cancel the spring game? How many Terps will be drafted in the NFL Draft, and in whaichrounds? This week we welcome Maryland basketball forward Jordan Geronimo to the show. The Indiana transfer committed to the Terps this summer, after spending three seasons in Bloomington. A bench piece for Mike Woodson's team, Geronimo averaged 4.2 points per game and 2.4 rebounds. Playing as the backup big men, Geronimo said he envisioned himself playing a similar role to former Maryland forward Patrick Emileen. Geronimo discussed the team's recent trip to Italy, getting cussed at by Kevin Willard, being named after Michael Jordan and more. As always we discuss this week in UMD sports

Jeff also provides an overview of what to expect from the Terps' incoming freshman trio of DeShawn Harris-Smith, Jamie Kaiser, and Jahnathan Lamothe. Plus, some insight into the recruitment of 2024 5-star prospect Derik Queen and an update on just how much involvement Garry Williams has these days. Mike Woodson and Indiana secured another transfer portal commitment on Saturday afternoon when grad transfer Anthony Walker announced his intention to play for IU. Walker played the last four seasons at Miami, getting double-digit minutes in the Hurricanes' Round of 32 win over Indiana this season. While it's easy to be underwhelmed by the pickup based on Walker's stats, peeling back the layers of the onion reveals the logic for why IU's staff wanted a guy like Walker. We discuss that on this episode, including some lingering questions we have about the pickup as well.We also discuss today's announcement of a matchup with Auburn in Atlanta, and Jordan Geronimo's decision to attend Maryland. Anthony Richardson gives the Colts the best chance at an elite level quarterback in the NFL Draft, so that is who they should take! Indiana gains an opportunity to upgrade as Jordan Geronimo enters the transfer portal, and that opportunity could be named Caleb Love! Colts are 3-2-1 in a virtual tie for first place, but they have been behind in every single game at the two-minute warning! Titans are very similar to the Colts in several ways, and the best news for the Colts is that the best scheme to attack the Titans is what Matt Ryan did to the Jaguars! Hoosiers ranked 13th in the preseason. Need to hit threes at a higher level to justify that faith! Xavier Johnson and Jordan Geronimo must ball out for Mike Woodson! --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/the-kent-sterling-show/support
Matt Ryan leads pack of players who MUST play better, according to fans AND Pro Football Focus! Colts weak in exactly the areas fans point to. Kenny Moore, Danny Pinter, Yannick Ngakoue, and receivers must take a step up this week! Colts matchup very nicely with the Tennessee Titans. Colts love to run, and Titans have trouble stopping it. Titans LOVE to run, and the Colts are stout there! Hoosiers need Jordan Geronimo to excel this season to reach their potential! On Tuesday night, Indiana won its first NCAA Tournament game since 2016, beating Wyoming 66-58. The game may have been ugly from an aesthetics and shooting standpoint, but that was beauty in Indiana's grit and togetherness, and in the continued dominance of Trayce Jackson-Davis.After the game, our crew broke it all down on The Assembly Call IU Postgame Show.On the mics: Jerod, Andy, Ryan, and CoachAmong the topics discussed:— Trayce's fantastic performance on both ends— The critical impact of Jordan Geronimo in both halves— Why this was a strong performance from X despite lower scoring output.— Why did Parker Stewart play 37 minutes? (There are two very good reasons.)— Can Indiana get Race and Trey back on track?— Why this was one of the best-coached games of the season. We also point out a few meaningful moments you may have missed, go inside the numbers, and hand out our game balls. All of that, and more, on this edition of The Assembly Call.(Music provided by Bob Thompson — die-hard Hoosier fan and longtime Assembly Call listener.)See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
