Indiana put together one of its better performances of the season but ultimately came up short in an 81-76 loss at #10 Purdue. The Hoosiers led by as many as seven points in the first half and showed tremendous resilience in the second half, responding to a Purdue run with a 12-0 spurt of their own to retake the lead. Indiana men's basketball picked up a huge win on the recruiting trail, pulling in 5 star forward Mackenzie Mgbako and further strengthening their 2023-24 roster. Mackenzie Mgbako, top-10 recruit in the class of 2023, will choose between Kansas and Indiana on Friday evening. Which program has more at stake with his commitment. For Kansas and Bill Self, it could put them over the top as the best team in America (if they aren't already). For Indiana and Mike Woodson, they would likely rely more heavily on what Mgbako brings to the team. For either team, Mgbako will be an important and helpful piece. The transfer portal closed on Thursday. Notable players like Ernest Udeh (Kansas), Arthur Kaluma (Creighton), and Julian Phillips (Tennessee) were all late additions. Udeh's move might indicate Mgbako's intentions. Kaluma and Phillips are both also in the NBA Draft and have been invited to the Combine. Wow, one of the biggest news hours in Duke history this morning as Kyle Filipowski announced he is running it back for his sophomore season at Duke and then, minutes later, superstar recruit Mackenzie Mgbako said he would be looking for a different school and not coming to Duke.
