Shoot us a Text. It's a fresh week and we're talking about GM's strategy with Costco to boost EV sales, Fisker's aggressive move to sell the Ocean to employees at a discount, and Reynolds and Reynolds' $5 million donation to Northwood University for a new automotive studies center.Show Notes with links:General Motors is using its partnership with Costco to increase sales of its electric vehicles (EVs).GM is promoting EVs like the Chevrolet Equinox and Blazer through the Costco Auto Program. The partnership leverages Costco's 50 million U.S. members with special pricing and discounts.Costco Auto acts as a facilitator, offering haggle-free pricing via franchised dealers.Members can get a $1,000 incentive on select GM EVs through July.Costco's affluent and loyal customer base, typically aged 42-59 with higher-than-average incomes, aligns well with EV buyer demographics."Our membership has always liked new things, and EVs are absolutely new to the marketplace," said Jay Maxwell, Costco Auto Program general manager. In a new effort to sell some of their EVs, Fisker is selling its Ocean crossover to employees at a steep discount amid financial struggles and low sales. The Ocean is available in three trims: Extreme, Ultra, and Sport; only the latter two are offered to employees. The entry-level Ocean Sport for retail customers now starts at $24,999, down from $61,499.However, employees can buy the Ocean Extreme and Ultra for $20,000 plus additional fees.Fisker sold only 4,700 of the 10,142 units produced in 2023, far below its target."We are beyond excited to help you join the Fisker Ocean Family," read the company's email to employees, despite the company's financial woes.Reynolds and Reynolds has pledged $5 million to Northwood University to support the new Center for Automotive & Mobility Studies. The donation will fund the construction of state-of-the-art facilities, including classrooms and a conference center. The new center will replace the NADA Hotel and Conference Center on Northwood's campus in Midland, Michigan. An advisory council of automotive industry leaders will guide the center's governance.Reynolds and Northwood are partnering on a talent recruitment program for Northwood graduates."Their support will significantly elevate Northwood's top-tier automotive education programs," said Northwood University President Kent MacDonald.Hosts: Paul J Daly and Kyle MountsierGet the Daily Push Back email at https://www.asotu.com/ JOIN the conversation on LinkedIn at: https://www.linkedin.com/company/asotu/ Read our most recent email at: https://www.asotu.com/media/push-back-email

In this short episode, Alex expands on the concept of perseverance and resilience. In episode #74 of the podcast, Alex spoke with Yoshi Muroya, the 2016 Red Bull Air Race World Champion. During that conversation, Yoshi explain how difficult it was to obtain the first sponsorship for and aerobatic aircraft in Japan. The had been no previous reference to airshows and Yoshi was attempting to start the ball rolling, but couldn't afford to operate the aircraft on his own. After more than 2000 rejections, he managed to land a sponsor, which later developed into the Red Bull Air Race in the Far East. The tenacity required to hear so many no's and still try again the next day is amazing. We don't often realise how much effort is required to achieve some of our lofty goals. If you have great ambitions for your life, you need to dig really deep. You will need a lot of perseverance, tenacity, skill and a good dose of luck too. There are lots of parallels between my day job at Entrepreneur First and what Ilan is building at Activate, so it was great to explorie what we've both learned in this conversation. Unlike EF, Activate is focused on science that is going to take a long time, often at least a couple of years, before it's ready for even the earliest stage venture capital. In this episode we interview Justine Teba, Orien Longknife, and Demetrius Johnson from The Red Nation. Our discussion centers around the book The Red Deal: Indigenous Action To Save Our Earth, which is the first book release from the Red Media imprint on Common Notions. The Red Deal is a call for action beyond the scope of the US colonial state.  It’s a program for Indigenous liberation, life, and land—an affirmation that colonialism and capitalism must be overturned for this planet to be habitable for human and other-than-human relatives to live dignified lives. The Red Deal is not a response to the Green New Deal, or a “bargain” with the elite and powerful. It’s a deal with the humble people of the earth; a pact that we shall strive for peace and justice and a declaration that movements for justice must come from below and to the left.  In 2019 we had a conversation with Nick Estes that touched on The Red Deal, but the new book offers a full elaboration of the program. We talk to Justine, Orien and Demetrius about the creation of the book and many of the topics covered within it. Including how struggles for indigenous sovereignty, decolonization, anti-imperialism, food sovereignty, and the caretaking economy are central to the struggle to maintain a habitable Earth. Along the way we also cover indigenous science, the importance of organizations, and how The Red Nation see their role in revitalizing the spirit of indigenous resistance. Please remember to support Millennials Are Killing Capitalism and Red Media on patreon if you enjoy our content and are able to support and make sure you go pick up a copy of The Red Deal and tune into their launch party on April 22nd.

In this episode, my friend, Emma Kestler, and I do a deep dive into the concepts and messages we took away from the most powerful book we have both ever read: The Untethered Soul by Michael Singer. This book was so impactful for both of us. I have read it twice! The messages and concepts in this book make you think differently about life and yourself. It walks you through your relationship to yourself, your thoughts, and your emotions. It helps you dig deeper to find the source of your own energy, thoughts, fear, habitual patterns, etc. and helps you find a way to live your life in freedom and be your most authentic self. I recommend it to every human! This is one of my FAVORITE podcast episodes to date and was super POWERFUL for both of us to record, so I hope you feel it, too! There seemed to be a very interesting theme and pattern in my life when it came to manifesting things.. or allowing things into my space or reality ...  I started to notice that as I was either creating the thing I said I wanted,.. or if I was just about to get it after working for it ... I would have 2 very different dynamics happening .. I had a voice and external dialogue that said I was ready.. and that I wanted this to happen.. and that I couldn't wait !!!  But inside .. I was in knots... or I was sad.. or in disbelief and doubtful... This gap in vibrational resonance of thought and emotion is what causes the suffering and anxiety we feel...  AND it's why I would always procrastinate unconsciously for most of my life !!  I recently experienced this in my reality earlier in the month and wanted to share an amazing process that really helped me not only identify what the depths of that limiting story and belief system was... but helped me create the new narrative right then and there.. by being honest with the answers that came to me from some of the more probing difficult questions I had to ask my "human" story..... We dive in REALLY Deep today !!   MUCH LOVE TODAY !!~    Likeattractslike11.com

Ep. 3.3.| How to Define Your Ideal Client Avatar & Curate Your Client List The benefits of truly defining your avatar and curating the ideal client list are far reaching in your business. Image, if you will, a business in which the clients you work with every day perfectly align with your core values and the principles on which you founded you business. Imagine charging premium prices for the goods and services you offer and a client that feels like they are getting a tremendous bargain because they understand your true worth and appreciate the considerable value you are contributing to them. Imagine brand fans, clients and champions shouting from the mountaintops how wonderful your brand is and that anyone would be just silly not to work with you at any opportunity. These are just a few examples of what happens when you dig deep to define your ideal client so you can carefully curate client list. I am joined this week by KC Cloud, owner and creative director of KC Cloud Events. For nearly seven years, she has built a reputation in the industry as one of the top planners in her area by providing value and service to her clients and professional partners. For the first few years, KC worked with just about anyone that was interested in hiring her but she quickly learned that this was contributing to working harder longer hours, with people that did not always align with the core values of her brand and frequently for less money than she would have liked. That all stopped once KC understood the importance of defining, finding and talking directly to her ideal client. This process takes quite a bit of time and effort. You have to begin by digging deep (and I mean REALLY DEEP) into yourself and your brand. Then you have to create a client avatar that perfectly aligns with your core values, brand and business model. Trust us when we tell you that it is well worth all the hard work because the payoff is working with clients that are a great fit to you and your business that understand your worth and are willing to pay premium prices because of the tremendous experience and value you provide. Cheat Sheet Burnout is inevitable if you try to do everything yourself. When you start to feel overwhelmed, that is when you should start outsourcing. Start small, with discrete, one-off tasks, that you could do, but someone else could do a lot better. For example, if you aren’t a graphic designer, don’t  mess around in photoshop! As you get used to outsourcing tiny projects, your confidence in other people and their abilities will grow. Never settle for less than awesome. If you fail to delegate a task that could be better done by a specialist and instead do it yourself, you are settling for less. Settling is the path to mediocrity. An Entrepreneur is someone who builds a team to solve a problem. A solopreneur is someone who tries to do it all themselves. Which do you want to be?   About this Episode If you have been preparing for your Kickstarter or Indiegogo campaign then you are probably finding out just how much stuff you have to do: Build an audience Source manufacturing Build a website Logos Copywriting Talk to potential customers Iterate Pay your bills in the meantime Patents Sleep Date night with your significant other Etc... Oh yeah! And design your product! And if you are like most of the people I talk to, you are probably a rookie in most, if not ALL of these categories! When you are researching any one of these tasks, you have probably realized that you can go REALLY DEEP into any one of them. There are awesome, in-depth products on each one of these fields. So where do you start - other than with my Product Launch Checklist? Your time is scarce. It takes time to execute everything you want to execute... It takes more time to learn how to execute what you want to execute… And it takes the MOST TIME to sort through all the information out there just to decide WHAT to learn and who to learn from before getting down to the business of learning and then executing. And because you may not have the financial resources to go on a mad hiring binge, nor have the experience to be able to properly vet the people you want to hire, you probably fall into what this week’s guest, Chris Ducker, calls.... SUPERHERO SYNDROME Superhero syndrome is where we as entrepreneurs try to do everything ourselves. And that is incredibly overwhelming. It is hard enough to learn one new task as opposed to 10, and to be able to complete the task to your own high standard, let alone your customer’s. At some point, the only solution is to cut something or hire someone to do it. Enter Chris Ducker. Those of you who have been following me for a while will recognize this episode from my original podcast, Entrepreneur Uncut #19. But I have been getting so many calls from overwhelmed project creators that I decided to repost it for you here. This episode is a crash course on both how to decide what to outsource, and how to outsource. It applies as much, if not more, to crowdfunding Project Creators as it does to any other entrepreneur. Chris explains in detail his concept of the 3 Lists Of Freedom that I have personally used to delegate tasks in my business. When I got started advising entrepreneurs launch crowdfunding campaigns I was doing most of the work myself. But now, I have a team of people that help me do the copywriting, customer support, and technical work, while I focus on strategy, media outreach, and quarterbacking the whole project. Listen to this episode, go through the 3 Lists of Freedom exercise, outsource something small, and then get some sleep! Your business will thank you for it.
