Le PK5, quartier à majorité musulmane situé dans le troisième arrondissement de la capitale, renaît progressivement de ses cendres. Lassés par des années de crise, les habitants du secteur et les autorités locales avaient appelé au départ des groupes d'autodéfense en 2015. Après les élections présidentielles et législatives de 2016, l'État avait retrouvé son autorité et le quartier ses services publics. Aujourd'hui, on note la présence des forces de l'ordre et des casques bleus de la Minusca. De notre correspondant à Bangui,Il est 10 heures 30 et c'est l'heure de pointe au PK5. Coups de klaxon, embouteillages... commerçants et clients s'entremêlent, chacun dans ces courses.Des commerçants ambulants, appelés ici « Boubanguérés », se baladent partout avec leurs marchandises sur la tête ou dans des pousse-pousse. Parmi les clients, Hervé Aboubacar est flatté par les prix des produits écoulés à l'air libre. « Le marché revient de loin après cette crise. Nous avons beaucoup souffert. Il est temps de tourner la page. Comme vous pouvez le constater, il y a la paix, il y a de l'ambiance et il y a une parfaite cohabitation. Au niveau du marché, nous avons plaidé pour qu'il reprenne vie. Aux abords de l'avenue Koudoukou, c'est tout un tas de mélange qui est là », explique Marie-Joseph Fitalona, conseillère à la mairie du troisième. À l'autre bout du marché, on peut voir les étals des vendeurs de viandes et de légumes bien garnis. Non loin de là, on aperçoit des hommes et femmes qui tiennent des quincailleries. Le marché du PK5 est le véritable poumon économique de la Centrafrique, selon James Koursany, économiste. « Les activités du secteur primaire, du secteur secondaire et du secteur tertiaire se trouvent au sein de ce marché. Nous constatons des ventes en gros et des ventes en détail. Le capital qui circule au sein de ce marché peut être estimé à une centaine de millions par jour, comparativement aux autres marchés de bandits, aux autres marchés de la République centrafricaine », précise-t-il.Après des années de crises, le KM5 va visiblement mieux. Le PK5, ce quartier populaire, commercial et culturel, a été durement frappé pendant la crise militaro-politique de 2013. Considéré comme le poumon économique de la Centrafrique, c'est là que transitent tous les produits venant du Cameroun, du Tchad et du Soudan. Le coup d'État de 2013 de la coalition Séléka contre l'ancien président François Bozizé, a plongé ce quartier cosmopolite dans la violence. La paix est revenue, mais les habitants se souviennent de cette page sombre de l'histoire. De notre correspondant à Bangui,KM5. Nous marchons dans la rue Dido, autrefois appelée « Couloir de la mort ». Malgré l'ambiance qui y règne actuellement, l'endroit porte encore les stigmates de la crise.Quelques herbes ont poussé dans les allées bordées de magasins abandonnés, de maisons partiellement détruites, des impacts de balles sur des bâtiments et sur des poteaux électriques. Ousmane Dida, habitant du KM5, se remémore : « Les événements de 2013 étaient dramatiques. Il y avait le couvre-feu entre 20h et 5h du matin. Chaque soir, on entendait des coups de feu, on signalait des cas de braquages, d'assassinats, de viols et de pillages contre des musulmans, tout comme les chrétiens. Entre décembre 2013 et les mois de janvier, février et mars 2014, les milices Séléka et anti-Balaka semaient la désolation ».« Une prison à ciel ouvert »Au temps forts de la crise, les armes circulaient très facilement. Le KM5 échappait au contrôle des forces loyalistes. Certaines personnes le surnommaient « Poudrière » ou encore « Vatican », autrement dit un État dans l'État. Magalie est une habitante de PK5 : « J'ai perdu des parents, des amis et des proches. À cette époque, KM5 avait mauvaise réputation, presque toutes les écoles étaient fermées. Les commerçants et même les habitants étaient rançonnés par les groupes d'auto-défense. On vivait comme dans une prison à ciel ouvert, sans savoir de quoi demain serait fait ».Chapelet en main, grand boubou de couleur jaune, Aoudou Maïkano mâche la cola en sortant de la mosquée centrale. Même si aujourd'hui, il se promène librement, en 2014, il avait quitté le quartier pour se réfugier au Tchad : « KM5 était un quartier dangereux. Les gens étaient kidnappés, tués ou disparaissaient, tout simplement. Les commerces étaient fermés. À cause de l'insécurité, j'avais quitté le KM5 avec ma famille pour trouver refuge ailleurs. Mais aujourd'hui, je suis heureux de réintégrer ma communauté. Je ne souhaite plus revivre ce genre d'événements au KM5 ».Entre 2013 et 2015, plusieurs centaines de personnes avaient perdu la vie dans ce quartier. La crise avait aussi provoqué d'importants dégâts, estimés à plusieurs millions de FCFA. Situé dans le 3e arrondissement de la capitale, ce quartier populaire de Bangui, majoritairement musulman, est à la fois appelé Km5 ou « Cinq-Kilos ». Entre les années 60 et 90, il était connu pour le dynamisme de sa population, sa diversité et sa densité. Un secteur cosmopolite où tout le monde se retrouvait pour partager le thé, le méchoui et suivre des concerts. De notre correspondant à Bangui,Appuyé sur sa canne, Aladji Cabara marche lentement en chantant l'un des vieux disques des années 70. En compagnie de quelques camarades, cet ancien conducteur de taxi nous amène à la découverte de l'ex-bar dancing Étoiles, construit dans les années 70 et détruit après des années de crises. Né en 1952, Aladji Cabara secoue la tête et verse des larmes nostalgiques : « L'ambiance du KM5 était pure et indescriptible. À l'époque de l'empereur Bokassa, le coût de la vie était moins cher. PK5 était le centre de l'ambiance, parce qu'il y avait une trentaine de bars dancing. Je peux citer entre autres les bars Punch Coco, Étoiles ou encore le Rex. Les grands orchestres comme Vibro Succès, Tropicale Fiesta, Centrafrica Jazz mettaient de l'ambiance partout. La Nostalgie ! »Malgré la chaleur, nous traversons tout le quartier pour visiter des endroits historiques. À côté de la mosquée centrale, assis sur des nattes, Amadou Roufaï partage le chai, une autre appellation du thé, avec ses amis : « Je suis fils des années 60. Pour parler de cette époque, je dirais qu'il y avait une ambiance totale. Les communautés chrétiennes et musulmanes vivaient en parfaite harmonie. Lorsque les Centrafricains de la diaspora arrivaient à Bangui, ils venaient d'abord manger le méchoui de KM5 avant d'aller chez eux. Le meilleur méchoui, c'est au KM5. Même aux heures tardives, les gens venaient manger le méchoui, prendre un verre avant de rentrer chez eux tranquillement. »Le KM5 au rythme de la musiqueDirection le terrain de football de Sagbado. Ici quelques enfants s'entraînent avec le ballon rond. Mais, dans les années 80, ce terrain était un carrefour de la sape. Aladji Ouananga Cabara : « C'est ici que les grands sapeurs de KM5 se retrouvaient avant d'aller aux soirées dansantes. Chacun prenait le soin d'imbiber ses cheveux avec de l'huile de karité avant de les peigner soigneusement. On portait des pantalons gabardine à pattes d'éléphant avec des chaussures très pointues appelées pointinini. La classe ! » À cette époque, il n'y avait pas de couvre-feu, les habitants pouvaient se promener du matin au soir et faire la fête jusqu'à l'aube. En ce temps-là, PK5 vibrait au rythme des styles de musiques tels que : Ndombolo, Rumba, Motenguènè ou encore le Jazz.

"THE DEEP CONTROL" presents a series of podcasts ! Mine Mía (Barcelona / Ibiza / Cuba) Bio: Born in Havana, to a family of musicians and artists, Mine Mía was destined to be involved in music somehow. Due to the strength of her passion of music and because family lived in Zaragoza, Mine was able to leave Cuba at the age of 19 and attend the University of Zaragoza in Spain where she studied Studio & Audiovisual Production. Years later she settled in Southern Italy to develop a career as a videographer and photographer but music kept calling her and soon she was filming raves and tech house parties throughout the region. It became clear though to her that her real passion was not in the audiovisual world but in music, specifically DJ'ing the best Deep and Tech House party sets possible. The clarity of her passion drove Mine to Ibiza in 2013 where she quickly became the resident DJ at Hotel Migjorn for two years. She did not stay exclusive however, due to high demand from some of Ibiza's best nightspots and beach bars. Her two years in Ibiza saw her play KM5 regularly as well as numerous Beach Clubs on the island like Sushi Point, B.For, Nuba and Sunset Ashram amongst others. 2015 and 2016 became a year of growth. Mine like many other international DJs moved to Barcelona to further her career. Many opportunities came and quickly she was warming up the likes of Simon Baker and Felix Da Housecat at Penelope Club amongst many others. The real highlight came when she was made resident DJ at Under Barcelona which is the premier underground club in the city. There she supports numerous artists regularly including the likes of Oxia amongst others. With two years under her belt of playing in Ibiza at some of the most important venues on the island, followed by residencies in some of the most established and credible venues in Barcelona, be careful 2017, because Mine Mía is on her way.
