The non-profit organization says her arrest was excessive, questioning why she was detained for over a week while others in similar cases walked free. Cobalt Blue Holdings Ltd (ASX:COB, OTC:CBBHF) investor relations representative Joel Crane talked with Proactive's Tylah Tully about the company's earn-in for the Halls Creek Project and its proposal to rebrand as Core Blue Minerals Ltd. Crane explains that Halls Creek is a significant polymetallic copper resource with notable zinc and silver grades. The project is located in a well-established mining jurisdiction and comes with existing mining leases, positioning the company ahead in the permitting process. Discussing the acquisition, Crane outlined three key benefits: Leveraging expertise – The company will apply metallurgical innovations from its Broken Hill Demonstration Plant. Resource potential – The project has high-grade extension opportunities and unassessed cobalt, aligning with the company's Kwinana cobalt refinery strategy. Commodity diversification – Adding copper exposure helps mitigate single-commodity risks while supporting the energy transition. Crane also explained the reasoning behind the proposed name change to Core Blue Minerals Ltd, noting that the company is expanding beyond cobalt. Despite the broader focus, the company remains committed to its core projects, including the Kwinana Cobalt Refinery and Broken Hill Cobalt Project. #CobaltBlue #MiningNews #Copper #Cobalt #HallsCreek #BatteryMetals #EnergyTransition #CommodityMarkets #MiningInvestment #ResourceDevelopment

Marketing efforts continued, with prospective customers assessing HPA samples for heavy-duty electric vehicle applications. Research and development partnerships remain active, focusing on downstream product applications. Cadoux holds a 50% interest in Minhub Operations Pty Ltd (MOPL) and is fully funding the Minhub feasibility study and associated research. The study is nearing completion, incorporating engineering improvements. Minhub aims to process 500,000 tonnes per annum of heavy mineral concentrate from third-party sources, with ongoing discussions for offtake agreements. On ESG initiatives, Cadoux engaged with industry groups, reviewed climate-related financial risks, and maintained community outreach activities. The company ended the quarter with approximately AU$2.43 million in cash. Upcoming activities include finalising the Minhub feasibility study, advancing permitting for the Kwinana HPA site, and continuing R&D and equipment testing in the March 2025 quarter. #Cadoux #HPA #RareEarths #CriticalMineral #BatteryMaterials #Mining #MineralProcessing #Sustainability #ElectricVehicles #TechInnovation #Engineering #GreenEnergy #ResourceDevelopment #LithiumIonBatteries #RareEarthMetals #AustralianMining #MiningNews #ESG #MineralSands #CleanEnergy

Proactive's Tylah Tully breaks down ‘Just the Facts' of the latest news from Australian Vanadium Ltd (ASX: AVL, OTCQB: ATVVF). Through its subsidiary VSUN Energy, Australian Vanadium is advancing Project Lumina, a modular and scalable utility-scale Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) using vanadium flow battery (VFB) technology. The project targets medium-to-long-duration energy storage solutions for Australian energy markets. Key appointments include Genus for power conversion and transformer systems, Sedgman for vanadium electrolyte storage and integration, and CellCube for technical expertise and power units. These partners bring expertise from high-profile projects, such as WA's Kwinana lithium-ion BESS. Project Lumina has progressed to Phase 2, refining assumptions from Phase 1, which demonstrated competitive levelised costs of storage at A$274/MWh for four-hour and A$251/MWh for eight-hour configurations. Phase 2 focuses on finalising 100MW system designs, optimising a “deconstructed” BESS model for extended lifespans beyond 40 years, and engaging energy offtakers, securing land and evaluating funding strategies. VSUN Energy highlights the importance of these partnerships in advancing utility-scale energy storage solutions, positioning Project Lumina as a leader in the renewable energy transition across Australia. #ProactiveInvestors #AustralianVanadium #ASX #OTC #Justthefacts #ProjectLumina, #VSUNEnergy, #VanadiumFlowBattery, #BESS, #EnergyStorage, #RenewableEnergy, #BatteryTechnology, #UtilityScaleStorage, #CellCube, #Sedgman, #Genus, #CleanEnergy, #LongDurationStorage, #SustainableEnergy, #GridStorage, #EnergyTransition, #VanadiumBatteries, #EnergyInnovation, #FutureEnergySolutions

The South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA) this week revoked former SAA director Yakhe Kwinana's membership following the outcome of her disciplinary hearing.  Kwinana is a former SAA board member who came into the spotlight when she used the "fat cake" analogy at the commission into State Capture  to justify cancelling an 85 million Rand contract and handing it to subsidiary, Air Chefs,  without a tender. The tender was initially awarded to LSG Sky Chefs. Kwinana served as a board member at the national carrier between 2009 and 2016. This is what she said during her testimony to the State Capture commission in November 2020. The SAICA Disciplinary Committee found Kwinana guilty of 13 of the 14 charges against her. According to the committee Kwinana is not a fit and proper individual to be a member of the profession and has been fined six-point-one-million rand for all 13 of her charges.  To explain this decision we spoke to CEO of The South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA), Freeman Nomvalo...

A multi-tiered wheat market has opened up in the last couple of weeks, with a huge spread in prices between top quality APW wheat and lower quality ASW. Prices ex Kwinana yesterday show APW was trading at $415 a tonne, while ASW was trading at $330 a tonne. That's a difference of $85 dollars and it's usually only a $10 to $15 difference. It's a sign the market believes a lot of low quality wheat is about to be harvested in Australia and it's sending a message that what it really wants is high quality wheat. The minister for Aboriginal affairs Stephen Dawson has refused a request for an interview on the ABC Country Hour to address concerns around WA's new Aboriginal cultural heritage laws and how it will affect the farm sector. The state opposition says lengthy delays to a business case for tier three rail lines could result in WA missing out on federal government funding to restore some of the lines.

PODCAST: Three points to Triangle Energy's success Aussie oil producer holds key to supply security in WA WESTERN Australian oil producer Triangle Energy (ASX:TEG) owns a massive footprint of prime acreage in the onshore and offshore Perth Basin. The company, led by well-known executive Rob Towner, has three key points of difference to other oil and gas explorers and producers in Australia. For a start, it already has a producing oil field offshore the MidWest of Western Australia called Cliff Head. Triangle Energy plans a low-cost redevelopment of the field, which will target three prospects known as Mentelle, Western Development, and South East Nose. At a cost of just $20 million, the wells will intersect three “drill ready” prospects to boost production from the field to between 4000 and 10,000 barrels of oil per day. The Cliff Head project contains 1.2 million barrels in proven reserves, but could hold as much as 9.3 million barrels of oil on a best prospective resource basis. Plans are already underway for the redevelopment and can be drilled from the already existing Cliff Head platform. The platform is in shallow waters just of Dongara and is connected to a plant called Arrowsmith by a 12-kilometre pipeline. Arrowsmith is the start of the refining process, separating water from crude and delivering oil which is then trucked to BP's Kwinana terminal to the south. Oil is then stored at Kwinana and then exported to Singapore for international markets. The pipeline which connects Cliff Head to Arrowsmith is critical infrastructure, in that it could also be modified to include potential offshore wind connection to the WA grid. Meanwhile the Arrowsmith plant, which has a capacity to refine 15,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day, is a highly sought-after facility. With interest peaking in onshore oil exploration in Western Australia, the Arrowsmith plant could be used for third-party processing going forward. But this is just the tip of the iceberg for Triangle, because it holds a vast 10,000 square kilometres of exploration acreage where oil has been found before. It owns the Mt Horner L7 permit along with the adjacent EP 437 permit onshore. Triangle Energy will undertake 3D seismic surveys across the permits to unlock future discoveries. The Mt Horner project has already produced 1.8 million barrels of oil to date, but holds many exploration opportunities. Offshore again, Triangle Energy owns the WA-481-P licence, surrounding its Cliff Head project which is one of the largest underexplored permits in Australia. Triangle Energy has teamed up with fellow ASX-lister Pilot Energy to pursue both oil exploration and look to a offshore wind project in the future.

Resource processing & industrial strategy in Western Canada: What can we learn from Western Australia? (Part 2 Q&A)

Considering Western Canada's continued dependence on crude and semi-processed resource exports, it could be argued that Albertans ought to find more sustainable and profitable ways to process their natural resource wealth. The speaker will briefly consider regional development challenges in Western Canada before turning to Western Australia, a booming resource-based economy that shares much in common with Alberta. This presentation will explain how the Kwinana industrial complex on Cockburn Sound has been in operation for nearly 60 years. Initially based on an Anglo Iranian oil refinery which came on stream in 1955, Kwinana has become a large and densely-interconnected industrial zone with the largest harbour on Australia's Indian Ocean coastline. Just 30 km south of Perth, it features a wide range of large-scale resource-processing refineries and processing plants (oil, gas, nickel, alumina, titanium dioxide, chemicals, water and electrical power generation). The speaker will discuss the Kwinana success story in light of some relatively new theories of industrial ecology and symbiosis. This alternate explanatory framework has exciting implications in an age in which sustainability objectives are becoming increasingly important in the planning of industrial districts, particularly to Western Canada. It briefly considers the potential for industrial symbiosis on the prairies in projects as large and complex as “Alberta's Industrial Heartland” (Edmonton, Fort Saskatchewan and associated municipalities) and as small as Lethbridge's industrial park. Speaker: Ian MacLachlen Ian was born and raised in Montreal and obtained his B.A. and M.A. from Carleton University in Ottawa. He completed his doctorate at the University of Toronto in 1990. Ian has taught in geography departments at University of Toronto at Mississauga (1985-86), University of Windsor (1986-88), and Carleton (1988-89) before joining the Department of Geography at the University of Lethbridge in 1989. In 1991, Ian taught International Studies on a faculty exchange with Hokkai Gakuen University, Sapporo, Japan. He was a Research Associate at the Instituto de Geografía, Universidad Autónoma de México during study leave, 1995-1996. In 2003-04, he was a Visiting Scholar at the Centre of Canadian Studies at the University of Edinburgh. On Ian's most recent sturdy leave, he was at the School of Earth and Environment at the University of Western Australia in Perth. Ian's last presentation to SACPA was entitled “Lethbridge's Beef Bonanza” on February 14, 2002.
