Interview with Nicholas Bridgen, CEO of Ferro-Alloy Resources Ltd.Recording date: 14th February 2025Ferro Alloy Resources is developing a significant vanadium project in Kazakhstan, positioning itself as a potential leader in both the vanadium market and sustainable carbon black production. Under CEO Nick Bridgen's leadership, the company is advancing toward a feasibility study, expected by June 2025.The vanadium market, currently at 125,000 tons annually, is characterized by significant price volatility, with prices ranging from $30 to $5 per pound in recent years. While steel production remains the primary demand driver, accounting for 85-90% of consumption, the emerging vanadium redox flow battery (VRFB) sector presents substantial growth potential. China's announced VRFB projects alone could require an additional 100,000 tons of vanadium.A unique aspect of Ferro Alloy's project is its carbon black substitute (CBS) co-product. The company's vanadium-rich ore contains 8-14% naturally occurring carbon, which can be concentrated to 40% purity through a low-energy process. This CBS offers a sustainable alternative to traditional carbon black, a $20-30 billion global market where conventional production emits approximately two tons of CO₂ per ton of product. The company's CBS innovation provides three key advantages: cost efficiency (priced at $500/ton, half the cost of traditional carbon black), minimal CO₂ emissions, and performance capabilities. Testing shows CBS can replace up to 10% of traditional carbon black in tire sidewalls without performance loss. The Phase 1 project aims to produce 220,000 tons of CBS annually, potentially generating $110 million in revenue.Ferro Alloy's strategic location in Kazakhstan positions it well for diversifying vanadium supply away from China and Russia, key considerations given current geopolitical dynamics. The company's project stands out for its potential to be the largest and lowest-cost vanadium producer globally, with significant expansion potential across seven ore bodies. The investment thesis centers on dual exposure to vanadium's growth potential in steel and energy storage markets, coupled with the innovative CBS opportunity. The CBS revenue stream could provide a hedge against vanadium price volatility, while the project's low-cost profile and strategic importance enhance its financing prospects.Looking ahead, the completion of the feasibility study will be a crucial milestone, providing detailed economics for Phase 1 and insights into the broader resource potential. The company's approach to both vanadium production and sustainable CBS manufacturing aligns with global trends toward renewable energy and reduced emissions, particularly in steel production and energy storage.Learn more: https://www.cruxinvestor.com/companies/ferro-alloy-resourcesSign up for Crux Investor: https://cruxinvestor.com

After Uravan was closed and set for demolition, its residents were forced to scatter elsewhere. Today, Uravan's nearby baseball park hosts an annual picnic for former townies who meet just down the road from the now-buried town. A local historical society is fighting to preserve the history through a local museum dedicated to Uravan; but not everyone was happy to have a polluting nuclear neighbor. In an interview with EPA superfund officials, we learn the philosophy of cleanup that led to the remediation of Uravan and its current status. Close by, a new uranium boom refuses to let the dust settle for long. Voyageur Pharmaceuticals CEO Brent Willis joined Steve Darling from Proactive to announce that the company and Rain Cage Carbon are advancing their collaboration following the first commercial creation of a V@C60 endohedral fullerene or Vanadium atom inside a C60 molecule. Rain Cage is now embarking on the next phase of radiology drug development using their cutting-edge technology. Willis told Proactive that Rain Cage will begin working to create on a commercial scale, the encapsulation of gadolinium, bismuth, and iodine within endohedral fullerenes. This pioneering work, set to begin later this month, aims to develop a process to create Gd@C60, Bi@C60, and I@C60 endohedral fullerenes, targeting the development of highly advanced radiology contrast agents for Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) and CT scans. These novel compounds, known for their rarity and complex synthesis, hold the promise of transforming medical imaging by significantly enhancing the precision and clarity of radiological scans. Endohedral fullerenes are a class of fullerenes that enclose an additional atom, ion, or cluster within their inner sphere, exhibiting superior physical and electronic characteristics compared to regular fullerenes. In the context of radiology drugs, endohedral metallofullerenes offer distinct advantages through exceptional stability and bioavailability, an amplified signal that leads to better image clarity and resolution, targeted delivery, and reduced toxicity. In this episode, host Cali Van Zant talks to Chris Timmins about the latest assay results from their Energy Sands project (Full company press release here) and some of the permit and drilling programs coming up this summer. Chris talks about his role since becoming CEO in 2023, new board additions to the team, the Pine Channel Project and what he is looking forward to most in the uranium sector. When speaking about their latest results and the Energy Sands project, Chris states, "We did a program in January on our Energy Sands project in Utah. We had some really good preliminary results. We sent the guys out, and they went around and collected a bunch of samples and we had some really extraordinary results. We were expecting something around 2% but we actually came back with an 18.87% result; very encouraging.""We're going to take the next step, and that's going to be to apply for the permitting, and get the ball rolling on this project into drill ready status, and hopefully drill it this summer....Our big neighbor is Western Uranium Vanadium, just up the road by a mile or two from us. That's why we staked this land in the first place; it's that it was open, and it is a long trend. Western Uranium's has 4 to 5 million lbs. of uranium sitting up on their property just to the northeast of us. We saw the potential here to follow along trend."When asked about surviving the challenges of 2023 as a junior exploration company and what Chris is looking forward to in 2024, he said, "As far as what we're looking forward to; I am looking forward to drilling Energy Sands. I think there's a resource here and if you can take a company with an under a $4 million market cap and start drilling a resource for uranium, I think that'll be a real eye opener for people.""For 2025 we'll be in Pine Channel and we think there's something there too. So we've got a few things on the go. Thankfully, we can work the Energy Sands project through the summer and our Pine Channel one in the winter. That spreads out our attention a little and gives us a little more bandwidth here to deal with each thing when it comes up.""As far as uranium in general, I think it only gets better from here. The demand just keeps going up and the supply just keeps lagging. So I think it's an exciting place to be. And I think we see uranium prices continue to go up through the next few years, and I don't think we see this demand supply problem fixed till at least into the 2030's."Full company press release https://www.pegasusresourcesinc.com/latestAbout Pegasus Resources IncPegasus Resources Inc. is a diversified Junior Canadian Mineral Exploration Company with a focus on uranium, gold, and base metal properties in North America. In this episode of the Climate Confident podcast, I talked energy storage with Matt Harper, the Chief Commercial Officer at Invinity Energy Systems, who explained vanadium flow batteries—and their implications for renewable energy. We started with a 'Battery 101' comparing the familiar lithium-ion to vanadium flow batteries. Matt shared fascinating insights into the modular nature of these batteries, how they differ in their response to the degradation issues plaguing conventional batteries, and their non-flammability—a significant safety advantage. We discussed the role of vanadium flow batteries in supporting infrastructure rather than powering EVs, given their weight. But where they truly shine is in the realm of grid energy storage.Looking at the bigger picture, Matt highlighted the economic shifts towards longer-duration storage, driven by the ever-decreasing costs of solar and wind power. Our conversation touched upon the broader market dynamics and the critical role of energy storage in achieving a net-zero future. The episode closed with Matt's passionate perspective on the necessity of supportive industrial policies for renewable technologies, ensuring a robust and sustainable energy sector.Do not miss this enlightening conversation on 'Climate Confident,' where we continue to unravel the innovations steering us towards a cleaner, more resilient energy future. Combining energy storage and renewables tackles intermittency and synchronicity (the famous duck curve) and unlocks the economics and trading opportunities. However, implementation is challenging. The technical and engineering challenges around which battery and the transformers required to connect to the grid (currently on extended back log). The contracts and commercials are challenging? How will manage and profit from the trade? And both of these depend on location and regulatory environment. Joining us to discuss the complexities and opportunities around combining energy storage and renewables is Brian Knowles, Director of Energy Storage and Flexibility at Pexapark, the PPA pricing and consulting firm. Brian has a unique background pioneering the deployment and commercialization of energy storage with wind and solar projects in Europe and the US.HC Group is a global search firm dedicated to energy & commodities markets. The Money of Mine team had a blast digging into 3 peculiar stories today – a junior mining company doing a share buyback, the wide world of vanadium and the old Nifty mine. But, before we tucked into these stories, we had to share with the Money Miners a piece of poetry that was written for us. We can assure you that this one is well worth a listen. On recent episodes we've covered some pretty curious corporate behaviour, and European Lithium (EUR.asx) was worthy of discussion by being one of the rare ASX-juniors that have bought back its own stock. Matty then delved into Neometals' (NMT.asx) offtake agreement, and naturally that led to us having a dive into the entire vanadium market. This included looking at both Australian Vanadium (AVL.asx) and Technology Metals (TMT.asx) projects. To round off the show, we shared our thoughts on both of Cyprium's (CYM.asx) recent financing rounds as they look to restart the old Nifty copper mine. CCP Blog - Episode 6 Colombian Shungite Lab Testing Reveals Rare Earths and More Welcome to a captivating episode where we explore the world of Shungite, comparing Russian Shungite with the emerging Colombian Shungite. Shungite has captivated crystal enthusiasts and spiritual seekers with its unique properties and potential health benefits. While Russian Shungite carries a rich historical significance, Colombian Shungite has recently emerged, raising questions about its authenticity and differences. Join us for episode 6 as we unravel the mysteries and empower you to make informed choices. Discover how these materials differ and decide if you wish to explore and experience their unique qualities firsthand. Colombian Shungite, also known as Raquirite, comes from the Sunder Colombia region, encompassing various small mines. Although some associate it with the Muso mine, our discussion and testing focus on specimens not sourced from Muso. Specifically, the samples from the Linac area within Sunder Colombia showcase intriguing characteristics. Recent testing reveals that Colombian Shungite contains an impressive 93.8% pure carbon, with some specimens reaching up to 97 to 98%. These high carbon levels are accompanied by other notable elements. The samples examined contained 0.5% zircon, 0.5% yttrium, and trace amounts of thulium, iron, potassium, magnesium, sodium, sulfur, titanium, and zinc, each comprising 0.01% of the composition. Notably, Colombian Shungite exhibits a relatively abundant presence of molybdenum (Mo) and vanadium (V). Both molybdenum and vanadium possess exceptional structural integrity, resistance to corrosion, and toughness. Vanadium's potential in cancer treatment stems from its ability to suppress tumor growth. In Colombian Shungite, the abundance of molybdenum and vanadium accentuates its overall structural integrity and strength compared to Russian Shungite, specifically in the tested minerals from this region. Elements in Colombian Shungite Colombian Shungite unveils a wealth of elements that contribute to its extraordinary energy. Alongside well-known elements like silver, gold, aluminum, and calcium, Colombian Shungite contains manganese, sodium, niobium, lanthanum, nickel, phosphorus, rubidium, and more. Rare earth elements such as thorium, yttrium, and uranium also grace this mineral. Elements like tantalum, selenium, tungsten, and thulium further contribute to the hidden secrets of superconductivity and enhanced energy within Colombian Shungite. From transition metals to trace elements, the composition of this stone is a testament to its unparalleled nature. Colombian Shungite truly stands apart, offering an incomparable assortment of elements rarely found in other minerals. The Benefits of Colombian Shungite The essence of Shungite lies in its ability to act as an energetic antenna, channeling transformative properties to its surroundings. While Russian Shungite has long been recognized for its exceptional qualities, Colombian Shungite should not be underestimated. With only a slight variation in its pure carbon content and a marginally lower rate of energy conductivity, Colombian Shungite becomes a more accessible and affordable alternative. This accessibility opens a window of opportunity to utilize this remarkable stone in various applications, rejuvenating plants, enhancing water treatments, revitalizing land, and more. Plants thrive in the presence of Shungite, and even a sprinkle of Shungite dust can bring forth lush vegetation and vitality. Let us embrace the potential of Colombian Shungite, harnessing its power in an affordable and accessible way, and witness the transformative effects it can bring to our lives and surroundings. The Truth about Shungite The world of Shungite is not immune to misinformation, particularly regarding the distinctions between Russian and Colombian Shungite. Biased individuals seek to monopolize the "Shungite" label for Russian origins, driven by financial motives. However, the emergence of affordable Colombian Shungite has disrupted their market. Global challenges in obtaining raw Shungite from Russia have resulted in sellers mislabeling Colombian Shungite as Russian, further complicating the information landscape. It is vital to critically evaluate sources. With a trusted associate and reliable lab testing data on Colombian Shungite, I present the facts impartially. In addition, misinformation commonly suggests that Colombian Shungite contains fullerenes, but conclusive testing is still underway to determine the extent. Russian Shungite typically contains a small fraction of fullerenes, while Colombian Shungite's percentage is being established. Fullerenes, if present in any capacity, add an intriguing dimension to the energetic potential of Shungite. The realm of energy extends beyond what we can see in our dimension. Trans-dimensional energies exist, and whether it is Russian or Colombian Shungite, both serve as intelligent allies and formidable protectors. Shungite has the remarkable ability to interact with complex energies, making it a valuable resource in our modern world. Carbon, the core element of Shungite, is utilized in various technologies, including nanotechnology and the transhuman agenda. Shungite acts as a medium, absorbing and transmuting energy, and offering transformative properties. Trust your intuition as you explore Shungite firsthand, as there is no right or wrong experience. I hope this discussion has helped clarify the distinctions between Russian and Colombian Shungite. Take care, and I look forward to connecting with you in the next episode.
