EPISODE 174 - Clark, Hyung, and John open the show discussing the news that Leaf Trading Cards was recently acquired by Orange Mountain Capital. What does that mean for Leaf product and should collectors be excited for it? Next for Hobby Headlines, the guys talk about the big mistake by Panini America with the Victor Wembanyama Nebular Prizm 1/1 pulled from the wrong hobby product. Then they compare that hobby mistake to the other notable ones in 2023 such as the Babe Ruth cut autograph booklet featuring George Brett's autograph instead, as well as the 2023 Bowman Chrome duplicate superfractor fiasco. Then Clark, Hyung, and John present some new hobby hot takes and subsequently discuss how "hot" their respective takes actually are. Lastly, they play their regular "Pick 1" segment where they are given two players or cards and subsequently debate which one they would rather invest in. Hyung asks which player would they rather invest in long-term: Shohei Ohtani or Luka Doncic; John asks what side they'd choose with the 1952 Topps Mickey Mantle (PSA 8) on one side, and then six more modern grail cards across different sports on the other; and last, Clark puts up the 1st Bowman base autograph card of Mookie Betts and Juan Soto against one another with both BGS 9.5/10 cards going for about $1,000. -------------------------- CONNECT WITH US!
