The Tampa Bay Buccaneers snapped their three-game losing streak in dramatic fashion with a gritty 20–17 victory over the Arizona Cardinals at Raymond James Stadium. Behind a gutsy performance from quarterback Baker Mayfield, clutch late-game defense, and a massive 57-yard field goal from Chase McLaughlin, the Buccaneers held on to maintain control of first place in the NFC South. The game featured a rare tackle-eligible touchdown catch by Tristan Wirfs and a strong return performance by Bucky Irving, who scored on a 13-yard run in his first game back from injury. Defensively, Tampa Bay delivered when it mattered most, stopping the Cardinals on two fourth-down plays in the fourth quarter to seal the win. Antoine Winfield Jr. recorded a key early interception, while SirVocea Dennis delivered the game-ending pass breakup. With the win, the Buccaneers improve to 7–5 and enter a crucial stretch of division games beginning with the New Orleans Saints. Tampa Bay now shifts fully into playoff mode as they push for another NFC South crown. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

In this episode, Dan Holmi breaks down everything Tampa Bay Buccaneers fans need to know heading into Week 7. Baker Mayfield continues to light it up on the field — extending plays, throwing darts, and turning broken downs into highlight reels. After another electric performance, fans at Raymond James Stadium are chanting “MVP,” and Dan digs into what that means for Baker and for the Buccaneers' bigger goals. Pulling from ESPN's Jenna Laine and FOX Sports' latest features, he explains how Mayfield's leadership and grounded mentality are keeping the team focused on wins over hype. Then the focus shifts to Buccaneers injuries and depth, including updates on Chris Godwin, Bucky Irving, and rookie standout Emeka Egbuka. Dan discusses how the offense might adjust without key playmakers and who needs to rise up — from Rachaad White in the backfield to Cade Otton in short-yardage spots. To close it out, Dan previews the Monday Night Football clash with the Detroit Lions, a prime-time NFC battle that could shape the playoff picture. He breaks down the defensive resurgence led by Jamel Dean and SirVocea Dennis, Todd Bowles' strategic matchups, and how the Buccaneers can keep momentum rolling. #TampaBayBuccaneers #GoBucs #NFL #BucsReport #BucsMinuteCast Learn more about your ad choices. Week 4 of the Philadelphia Eagles 2025-2026 season is now in the books as they beat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers by a score of 31-25 down at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa Bay. They are now 4-0 on the season and right at the top of the NFC East division. This game was certainly a tale of two halves with he Eagles offense being dominant and in control in the first half, and completely anemic in the second.Jalen Hurts showed how he's a top-tier quarterback in the NFL to start this game as he was 15/16 for 130 yards, 2 TD, 0 INT, 140.1 passer rating in the first half. The second half stalled and didn't progress well for Hurts, his receivers, or the rushing attack. While the offense didn't put up great-looking numbers, they got the job done and helped secure a win.The defensive pass rush is the most pressing issue facing the Eagles as it's almost nonexistent. While the defense had two sacks today, they only had one quarterback hit and weren't able to rattle Bucs QB Baker Mayfield. Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper DeJean were, however, such strong defenders in this game. They were definitely the MVPs of the defense. As always, we gave our top themes, thoughts and opinions from the game on offense, defense, and special teams, plus we graded each unit to close out the show.SUBSCRIBE on YouTube: youtube.com/@thephiladelphiasportstableHead over to our website for all of our podcasts and more: philadelphiasportstable.comFollow us on BlueSky:Jeff: @jeffwarren.bsky.socialErik: @brickpollitt.bsky.socialFollow us on Threads:Jeff: @mrjeffwarrenErik: @slen1023The Show: @philadelphiasportstableFollow us on Twitter/X:Jeff: @Jeffrey_WarrenErik: @BrickPollittThe Show: @PhiladelphiaPSTFollow us on Instagram:Jeff: @mrjeffwarrenErik: @slen1023The Show: @philadelphiasportstable.Follow Jeff on TikTok: @mrjeffwarrenFollow us on Facebook: facebook.com/PhiladelphiaSportsTable

Nick Sirianni hasn't lost much in his four-plus seasons as Eagles head coach, but there's one team that has his number: Tampa Bay. He's 1-4 all-time against the Buccaneers. The Eagles' two most recent defeats to the Bucs, road games in the Wild Card round of the 2023-24 playoffs and Week 4 of the 2024 regular season, were so embarrassing they threatened Sirianni's job security. But there's far more to the Eagles' struggles in Tampa than heat. Sirianni's counterpart, Bucs head coach Todd Bowles, has proven a pesky, painful thorn in the Eagles' side. As the Eagles travel to Raymond James Stadium for the third time in two years, The Philadelphia Inquirer's Jeff McLane examines how Bowles' blitzes have posed problems for the Eagles, and what Sirianni, quarterback Jalen Hurts, and the rest of the offense can do to counter them in Sunday's battle of unbeatens. 00:00 Welcome to Tampa: nightmare city 02:35 Why Todd Bowles has been so good vs. the Eagles 12:19 How Nick Sirianni, Kevin Patullo, and Jalen Hurts can hack Bowles' blitzes unCovering the Birds is a production of The Philadelphia Inquirer and KYW Newsradio Original Podcasts. Griffin Warner and Lonte Smith get you ready for CFB Week 1 betting. The Week 1 college football betting podcast kicked off with fiery motivation: play fast on offense, swarm and tackle on defense, and leave no doubt on the field (0:07–0:32). Host Griffin Warner welcomed listeners to the first full slate after Week 0's appetizer, joined by analyst Lonte Smith, promising best bets, betting previews, and Pregame.com promos (0:33–1:25). Lonte recapped Week 0: Kansas State's sloppy turnovers, Western Kentucky's win vs. Sam Houston, Kansas covering easily, and Hawaii splitting. The team split best bets but gained valuable data points, setting the stage for a bigger Week 1 (1:26–2:26). Griffin noted their 1–1 start before discussing Farmageddon: Iowa State upset Kansas State despite being outgained, thanks to field conditions and missed chances. Lonte highlighted K-State's run defense concerns and Iowa State QB Rocco Becht's poise (2:26–5:12). Focus turned to Thursday and Friday action. Boise State opened -8.5 but dropped to -5.5 against South Florida. Lonte leaned over 62.5, citing Boise's dominant offensive line and USF's explosive scheme with QB Byrum Brown, while both defenses struggle with consistency. Griffin noted USF's true home edge at Raymond James Stadium and the attractiveness of betting a home underdog (5:12–10:58). Next came East Carolina vs. NC State, a heated in-state rivalry. ECU returns QB Caden Howes but lost top backs and receivers along with most of its defense. NC State counters with QB C.J. Bailey and a strong WR trio. With both defenses questionable, Lonte recommended over 61.5, predicting Dave Doeren will keep scoring to make a statement (10:59–15:04). Friday's Auburn vs. Baylor clash featured Auburn as -2.5 favorites with total 58. Lonte praised Auburn QB Jackson Arnold behind one of the best offensive lines in college football and a deep WR group, attacking Baylor's secondary that ranked near the bottom nationally. Baylor QB Sawyer Roberson is underrated but struggles under pressure. Lonte leaned Auburn and over, expecting both offenses to produce (15:35–19:39). Georgia Tech vs. Colorado followed, with Tech -5. Lonte is high on Tech's physicality and returning production while fading Colorado after losing Shadur Sanders and top weapons. With QB uncertainty between Salter and Juju Lewis and no running game, Colorado faces major issues. Georgia Tech's balanced offense and experience make them a strong play, with a possible team total over. Public hype favors Deion Sanders, but sharps bet Colorado unders. Lonte called Georgia Tech an ACC dark horse (20:37–26:58). The show closed with Pregame.com promos: code “college50” saves $50 on season packages, plus Greg Shaker's contest with $1,000 cash prizes (26:59–28:08). For best bets, Lonte picked Charlotte +6.5 vs. Appalachian State, noting coaching upgrades and a defense-first identity (28:08–29:51). Griffin chose over 61.5 in NC State vs. ECU, echoing offensive advantages and defensive weaknesses (29:51–31:10). The podcast ended optimistic, teasing Saturday's monster slate including Texas vs. Ohio State (31:10–31:44). This streamlined Week 1 college football betting preview blends expert picks, point spread analysis, totals recommendations, and sharp betting angles. Key games include Boise State vs. South Florida, ECU vs. NC State, Auburn vs. Baylor, and Georgia Tech vs. Colorado, with actionable best bets on Charlotte +6.5 and NC State vs. ECU over 61.5. Merriam-Webster's Word of the Day for June 22, 2025 is: bemuse bih-MYOOZ verb If you are bemused by something, you are confused or bewildered by it, and often also somewhat amused. // The contestant seemed somewhat bemused by the question, but gave the correct answer. See the entry > Examples: “The duck touched down on the surface of Raymond James Stadium just minutes before the Bucs scored their own touchdown. ... Many of the staff not assigned to work on the field were bemused by the sight of Anchor carrying a duck out of the stadium. They held cellphones and took pictures.” — Rick Stroud, The Tampa Bay (Florida) Times, 1 Jan. 2025 Did you know? In 1735, British poet Alexander Pope lamented, in rhyme, being besieged by “a parson much bemus'd in beer.” The cleric in question was apparently one of a horde of would-be poets who pestered Pope with requests that he read their verses. Pope meant that the parson had found his muse—his inspiration—in beer. That use of bemused harks back to a 1705 letter in which Pope wrote of “Poets … irrecoverably Be-mus'd.” In both letter and poem, Pope used bemused to allude to being inspired by or devoted to one of the Muses, the Greek sister goddesses of art, music, and literature. The lexicographers who followed him, however, interpreted “bemus'd in beer” as meaning “left confused by beer,” and their confusion gave rise to the “bewilder” sense of bemuse. The newer (and very common) use of bemuse to mean “to cause to have feelings of wry or tolerant amusement” is a topic of some dispute, as discussed here.
