Ever felt like your family could use a blueprint for success? It's not as distant of a dream as you might think. Mell, the heart and soul behind the Hashey Family and the Strong Family Project, joined us once again to impart her wisdom on crafting a thriving family atmosphere. With her background in social work and her personal experiences as a stay-at-home mom, she shares their seven pillars that can help any family become a cohesive unit—from setting core values to the power of family dinners and the strength found in routine.   As we settled into our conversation, the importance of family values in guiding day-to-day life became abundantly clear. Mell shared how establishing a set of values acts as a compass during conflicts and decisions, and we laughed over her stories that showed just how impactful a well-timed family dinner can be. It's not just about the food—it's about gratitude, connection, and the roles we each play in the dance of family life. Plus, Mell offered up the secret sauce for turning mundane 'chores' into 'contributions', which has the power to transform how our families work together.   Rounding off our chat, we uncovered the underestimated magic of family meetings. Think less boardroom, more living room—a space where schedules align, achievements are applauded, and each voice is valued. Through Mell's engaging stories, including how a simple handshake can skyrocket a child's confidence, we learned that the strength of a family's foundation can weather the storms of modern life. The Strong Family Project isn't just a guidebook or an online community—it's a starting point for families looking to redefine their journey, and Mell is leading the way with a heart full of dedication and hands ready to help. Come, be inspired to make your family's path one that's strong, connected, and full of joy.

We connected on the fact that my family also sold most of our belongings, but we took different paths and I really enjoyed hearing about the experience for Mell and her family. This journey lead to their core family values and we dive into why these are so important and how you can create your own set of values for your family. In this episode, you will be able to: Join a family on a big adventure as they decide to sell their stuff and go somewhere new. See how this family learns important lessons on how to be a good family from their own experiences during their exciting journey. Find out how things happening in the world, like the pandemic, made this family think about their own lives and change the way they see things. Learn about the money problems and plans that come with moving to a new place and starting over. Discover how the parents in this family did things in a different way to help their kids during a big change in their lives. My special guest today is Mell Hashey: Mell has a Masters in Social Work from New York University. After 5 years of counseling families in abusive situations, she gave birth to her second son and decided to dedicate herself to being a stay at home mom. She pours herself into being a mindfully present and intentional mother throughout the various phases of her sons' childhoods. Along with her Husband Joe, Mell is using her experience to build the Strong Family Co. framework that any family can use to establish values and stress free family leadership. ************* Music: Fresh Lift by Shane Ivers - https://www.silvermansound.com ************* Subscribe & Review Are you subscribed to the Wannabe Clutter Free podcast?
