Episode 235 - Date Night Done Right - Tips for Rekindling Marital RomanceWhy Date Nights Matter for DadsMarriage doesn't run on autopilot after the diapers and soccer practices pile up. Dads often prioritize provider mode, but romance keeps the foundation solid for your whole family. Studies show couples who date regularly report higher satisfaction and better parenting teamwork, your kids thrive when mom and dad are connected.Neglect that spark, and resentment builds fast. Think about it: when was your last uninterrupted conversation with your wife that wasn't about bills or bedtime? Date nights rebuild intimacy, reduce stress, and model healthy love for your children. As dads, we're wired to lead here, step up intentionally.Practical Tips to Make It HappenPlan Ahead Like a Pro: Block the calendar now—swap kids with another dad couple or hire a sitter monthly. No excuses; treat it like a non-negotiable work meeting. Start small: coffee runs if dinners feel daunting.Ditch the Routine: Skip Applebee's every time. Recreate your early dates - picnic in the park, stargazing drive, or dance lesson. Novelty releases dopamine, mimicking those honeymoon vibes.Focus on Her World: Ask open questions about her day, dreams, stresses - not just yours. Listen 80%, talk 20%. Bonus: Compliment non-physical stuff like her patience with the kids.Keep It Low-Pressure: Home dates count, cook together, unplug phones, play her favorite playlist. Physical touch without expectations rebuilds comfort.Follow Through Post-Date: Text the next day recapping a highlight. Momentum matters; one date sparks the next. These aren't fluffy ideas; they're battle-tested from dads who've been there. One listener shared how weekly walks turned their rocky patch around.Common PitfallsWatch out for fatigue excuses - "I'm too tired after work." Flip it: date nights recharge you. Another trap? Treating it like a kid event - leave parenting talk at home.___https://dadspace.camusic provided by Blue Dot SessionsSong: The Big Ten https://app.sessions.blue/browse/track/258270

Episode #1061 If your wife feels distant or emotionally checked out, you're not alone and it's not random. In this episode, Doug and Erin talk through why so many women pull back in relationships, especially when men start trying to improve themselves. You'll learn what's really going on underneath the surface (hint: it's not about her not caring), and how broken trust and lack of emotional safety can make her retreat even when you're trying to do better. Doug shares a story from a recent men's event where one powerful question helped a husband realize exactly how he'd slipped back into old habits. Erin breaks down the emotional impact this has on women and what makes them feel safe enough to reconnect. They also cover the simple but powerful shifts men can make—things most guys overlook—that create real change in a relationship. No fluff here. Just honest reflection and practical takeaways you can put into action starting today. Want to go deeper? It was exactly two years ago, when Clinical Psychologist Dr John Burns from The Resilience Centre, sat down with Leigh Hatcher, in a conversation exploring the possibility of people rekindling hope after experiences of adversity. Now, we again bring together John and Leigh, only this time - it is a unique conversation about John's own adverse experience - his current journey of a manageable, but not curable, diagnosis of cancer that came shortly after the recording of their first podcast together. John bravely shares with Leigh (and all of us) his personal story about what it takes to rekindle hope in the face of adversity that was unanticipated and unimaginable. The Resilience Centre, as a team, wants to express gratitude to their special colleague John, for making the physical time and emotional space to record such a meaningful podcast for all of us to grow from. The post Rekindling Hope – Part #2: Revisiting Hope with Clinical Psychologist Dr John Burns appeared first on The Resilience Centre.

In this episode of "Your Weekly Calling," Brad reflects on the changing seasons and the metaphorical winters of our spiritual lives. He shares personal anecdotes about enduring the harsh Minnesota winters and draws parallels to times when our faith feels cold and distant. Through the story of a man surviving a snowstorm by keeping a small fire alive,Brad emphasizes the importance of maintaining the flame of faith, even when it feels like just a spark. He challenges listeners to be proactive in their spiritual lives, acting as thermostats that set the temperature rather than thermometers that merely reflect it. The episode concludes with a call to action: reach out to someone, pray, and worship with intention, as even a small flame can help others weather their storms.Follow Brad Here:https://www.instagram.com/bradlowe1979/This show is brought to you by The Hopecast Networkhttps://www.instagram.com/hopecastnetwork/
