It was exactly two years ago, when Clinical Psychologist Dr John Burns from The Resilience Centre, sat down with Leigh Hatcher, in a conversation exploring the possibility of people rekindling hope after experiences of adversity. Now, we again bring together John and Leigh, only this time - it is a unique conversation about John's own adverse experience - his current journey of a manageable, but not curable, diagnosis of cancer that came shortly after the recording of their first podcast together. John bravely shares with Leigh (and all of us) his personal story about what it takes to rekindle hope in the face of adversity that was unanticipated and unimaginable. The Resilience Centre, as a team, wants to express gratitude to their special colleague John, for making the physical time and emotional space to record such a meaningful podcast for all of us to grow from. The post Rekindling Hope – Part #2: Revisiting Hope with Clinical Psychologist Dr John Burns appeared first on The Resilience Centre.

In this episode of "Your Weekly Calling," Brad reflects on the changing seasons and the metaphorical winters of our spiritual lives. He shares personal anecdotes about enduring the harsh Minnesota winters and draws parallels to times when our faith feels cold and distant. Through the story of a man surviving a snowstorm by keeping a small fire alive,Brad emphasizes the importance of maintaining the flame of faith, even when it feels like just a spark. He challenges listeners to be proactive in their spiritual lives, acting as thermostats that set the temperature rather than thermometers that merely reflect it. The episode concludes with a call to action: reach out to someone, pray, and worship with intention, as even a small flame can help others weather their storms.Follow Brad Here:https://www.instagram.com/bradlowe1979/This show is brought to you by The Hopecast Networkhttps://www.instagram.com/hopecastnetwork/

In Revelation 2:1–7, Jesus commends the church at Ephesus for their perseverance and endurance but confronts them for drifting from their first love. This message invites us to examine our own hearts, repent of empty religion, and return to a real relationship with Jesus — allowing His mercy and forgiveness to reignite our love for Him and for others. True mission and lasting fruit flow only from the overflow of first love.

“Many thanks, Will. You have rekindled my 40-year quest to find my family origins. Your weekly letters are greatly appreciated.” – Bryan When Bryan wrote those words to me, they carried more than gratitude. They spoke of a lifetime spent searching, hoping, sometimes pausing, and then returning again. A forty-year quest is no small thing. It's the better part of a life, and it reminds me of why we keep at this work. Family history isn't only about names and dates; it's about our connection to those who lived before us, and it's about the journey we ourselves take while searching for them.
