Value Proposition - A podcast for companies, private clubs, and associations by EXEC
This episode of Value Proposition by EXEC dives into marketing tips for associations, clubs, and enterprises to better communicate membership offerings and value. We then share a handful of creative team-building activities for your executive leadership, and we wrap up with a highlight of Yohaha, which helps with assistants to help with home tasks, family plans, and much more. How to Effectively Market Your Membership Offerings: Tips for Associations & Enterprises Marketing is an intricate art of communication and a skill of conveying the right message to the right people at the right time. And in the context of membership programs, it is the magic wand that transforms casual browsers into engaged members and one-time members into loyal advocates. So, how do you ensure your marketing efforts hit the bullseye? How do you articulate the value of your membership offerings in a way that resonates with your target audience and compels them to join? In a world where competition for attention is more intense than ever, simply having stellar membership offerings isn't enough. Whether you're an association trying to attract new members or an enterprise aiming to increase the uptake of your membership program, meticulous strategies are required to make the most of your marketing efforts. Leadership Corner: Great Team Building Activities for Your Executive Team More often than not, the term ‘ice-breaker' or ‘team-building activities' will trigger a wave of eye-rolls and employees inching their way to the nearest exit. This response is usually because these activities are boring, overdone, or might even make some uncomfortable. However, when done right, corporation-wide team-building activities can provide an organization with massive benefits. In fact, a Gallup survey found that a highly engaged leadership team can increase employee engagement by as much as 39%, a domino effect that'll trickle down to the entire company. Whether you're looking to improve team communication and collaboration, build trust and teamwork, or challenge employees to think in new ways critically, the right team-building activities can help you get the most out of your organization. Often, team-building activities are hosted during company retreats; however, executives can also host these exercises within the office. They can be an opportunity to unwind and have fun or to engage different parts of the brain. We've listed our favorite activities to host in and outside the office. EXEC Partner Spotlight: Yohana Yohana provides virtual assistants for busy people to help get things done. From meal planning, finding the right contractor for home repairs, scheduling doctor's appointments, making travel plans, or even sourcing the right gift. Do you know the difference between good marketing advice and bad marketing advice? The marketing industry is full of information. Some can help you build meaningful customer relationships and effectively generate sales. But some is based on misinformation, pressure tactics, and “shortcuts” that could lead to slower audience growth or even a damaged reputation. I find it so infuriating that people are being pressured and pushed around by membership marketing myths that they believe are the industry standard. In this episode, I get on my soapbox to bust the most common marketing myths and help steer you away from the nonsense. Essential Learning Points:Why pressurizing leads can drive them to buy elsewhere How to prevent your customers getting buyer’s remorse Why a good product isn’t enough to generate sales The number of followers you really need Important Links & Mentions: https://conversionengineering.co/open-every-day-book/ (Open Every Day by Ross O'Lochlainn) https://kk.org/thetechnium/1000-true-fans/ (1,000 True Fans by Kevin Kelly) https://www.facebook.com/groups/membersitemastermind/ (Our free Membership Mastermind Facebook Group) https://www.membershipacademy.com/ (Membership Academy) Key Quotes: “Successful marketing is all about getting the right message, to the right person, at the right time.” “Some people are just not ready to buy when you’re ready to sell. Your business and how you market it is actually more about being there when someone is ready to buy, rather than trying to force the sale too quickly.” “If you’re not able to connect the dots and to compel people to put their hand in their pocket and pay you for the solution to their problem then it doesn’t matter how great your membership is, it doesn’t matter how great your product is. “Build it and they will come” is not a valid strategy.”
If you're looking for some new incentives to get members to join at the end of the season, Roger has some ideas. Plus, be careful about "play for free" promotions. Make sure the prospect knows the value of the core product your club offers.
