http://www.attractionchecklist.com -  Prepare for launch!  We are headed to Magic Kingdom to ride Space Mountain on this episode of Attraction Checklist. Attraction audio recorded on June 4, 2024. TRANSCRIPT: Welcome to Attraction Checklist. This episode we visit Magic Kingdom and ride the classic attraction Space Mountain. The Walt Disney World website describes this attraction saying: Blast off on a rip-roaring rocket into the furthest reaches of outer space on this roller-coaster ride in the dark. Guests must be 44” or taller to ride this attraction and the Thrill Level calls it a Thrill Ride with Big Drops in the Dark. Before we head to Starport: Seven Five, here are five fast facts about Magic Kingdom's Space Mountain. 1. Space Mountain opened at Magic Kingdom on January 15, 1975. 2. Space Mountain was originally conceived by Walt Disney for an attraction at Disneyland.  In 1964, Walt Disney started John Hench on the idea of a space themed roller coaster initially called Space Voyage.  It wasn't until 1966 that imagineers christened it Space Mountain for the first time.  The technology at the time made building the attraction in Disneyland impossible, but there was plenty of room at Magic Kingdom so Space Mountain appeared in Walt Disney World promotional materials as early at 1969. 3. There are two tracks on Space Mountain at Walt Disney World, Alpha and Omega.  They are near identical in that they are 65ft (or 19.8m) high, have a drop of 26 feet (7.9m) and whisk you along at 27 mph (or 43.5 km/h).  The difference between the two tracks comes in where track length is concerned.  Alpha track's 3196ft (974.1m) of track is 10 ft (or 3m) longer than Omega's 3186 ft (971.1 m) 4. The first official rider on Space Mountain in 1975 was astronaut Colonel James Irwin. 5. Space Mountain holds the distinction of being the oldest operating roller coaster in all of Florida. Let's ride Space mountain.  After the ride audio I'll give you my thoughts on this attraction.  This is a binaural recording so if you have headphones put them on now as we experience Space Mountain at Magic Kingdom. http://www.attractionchecklist.com - It's time to take a leisurely cruise around the Rivers of America as we head to Magic Kingdom to ride the Liberty Square Riverboat on this episode of Attraction Checklist. Attraction audio recorded on June 6, 2024. TRANSCRIPT: Welcome to Attraction Checklist. This episode we're going to hop aboard the Liberty Belle for a cruise on the Liberty Square Riverboat. The Walt Disney World website describes this attraction saying: Cruise the scenic Rivers of America aboard an authentic steam-powered paddle wheeler.  There are no age or height requirements for this attraction and the thrill level describes the attraction as being a slow ride. Before we shove off, here are five fast facts about the Liberty Square Riverboat in Magic Kingdom. 1. The Liberty Square Riverboat attraction opened at Walt Disney World on October 2, 1971.  The first boat that served was called the Admiral Joe Fowler, named after Joe Fowler who was in charge of construction at Disneyland and Walt Disney World.  In 1973, a second river boat was added named the Richard F. Irvine.  In 1986, that boat was renamed to Liberty Belle which still runs the Rivers of America today.  An interesting note is that the original boat, the Admiral Joe Fowler was damaged in a dry dock incident and was retired in 1980.   2. The Liberty Belle is a steam-powered sternwheeler replica.  Sternwheeler means there is one paddle wheel on the rear or stern of the ship.  A steam engine pulled water from the river to turn into steam to power the paddlewheel. 3.  The Liberty Belle is 47 feet tall and features four decks for guests to visit during the ride. 4. During the 17 minute trip, a narrator, in the in the voice of Mark Twain points out the sights guests see as they travel down the river including an early American settlement, a Native American village and Big Thunder Mountain. 5. The captain on the narration track is named Horace Bixby who was a real riverboat captain who mentored Samuel Clemons aka Mark Twain. Let's head to Liberty Square for a ride on the Liberty Belle.  After the ride audio I'll give you my thoughts on this attraction.  This is a binaural recording so if you have headphone put them on now as we ride Magic Kingdom's Liberty Square Riverboat! We'd also like to take a moment to acknowledge the passing of Lynne Stewart who played Ms. Yvonne on Pee Wee's Playhouse.  This event was recorded before her passing on February 21, 2025 but as you'll hear, she meant a lot to those who worked on the show. http://www.attractionchecklist.com - Let's get a little spooky and head to Disney California Adventure to check out the Halloween Overlay known as Luigi's Honkin' Haul-O-Ween on this episode of Attraction Checklist.  Attraction audio recorded on September 21, 2023. TRANSCRIPT: Welcome to Attraction Checklist. This episode we head to Disney California Adventure Park to ride Luigi's Honkin' Haul-O-Ween. The Disneyland Resort website describes this attraction by saying: Celebrate Luigi's favorite holiday at the honkin'est dance party in Radiator Screams! Guests must be 32” or taller to ride this attraction and the Thrill Level calls it a Thrill Ride that is Loud with Spinning. Before we join Luigi and Guido for some spooky fun, here are five fast facts about Luigi's Honkin' Haul-O-Ween 1. Starting in 2017, Cars Land at Disney California Adventure got a spooky makeover for the Halloween Season.  Radiator Springs becomes Radiator Screams.  Several of the attractions got a holiday overlay including Luigi's Rollickin Roadsters which becomes Luigi's Honkin' Haul-O-Ween. 2. Luigi's Casa Della Tires gets a halloween makeover including the leaning tower of tires which sports hubcaps and treads that look like eyes and mouths. 3. Despite the overlay, the attraction retains it's ride time of approximately 2 minutes. 4. As of this episode's audio recording which was done in 2023, one of five different songs played while the cards were in motion.  These are all parodies of traditional Italian songs given a spooky edge.  They include: Honkin' Haul-O-Ween, Luigi the Hero, Haul-O-Ween Italiano, Chop Shop of Carsoli and Terror-Antella. 5. Disney released all the songs from the attraction in 2018 on an album called: Happy Haul-O-Ween from Cars Land: Spooky Songs From Mater and Luigi.  This album is available on most music streaming platforms. Let's ride Luigi's Honkin' Haul-O-Ween.  John B. deHaas is along for the fun and after we ride we'll give you our thoughts on this attraction.  This is a binaural recording so if you have headphones put them on now as we experience Luigi's Honkin' Haul-O-Ween at Disney California Adventure. His toes made tiny clicking noises as he scurried over to the small Christmas Tree he had set up in the corner.  Tree was not the right word.  Tip of a branch from a tree was more like it.  A small clipping of an evergreen that was just the right size for a mouse sized tree.  A single bulb on top, a red one he had found in the garage last spring, illuminated the room.  He had rigged together some wire and hooked it, carefully, into the main to get it to light.  Gingerly grabbing the rubber insulation of the wire that ran to the main, he lifted it off.  There was a small spark and the bulb shut off, the room thrown into darkness.  He stood still for a moment, until his eyes adjusted.  He was helped by the light from the night sky creeping into his window.  He set the wire on the floor and turned towards his bed. Again his toes clicked against the concrete floor of his room as he made his way to his bed.  The bed, the cap of a spray paint can with cotton packed down inside of it, was warm and inviting .  After turning a few circles to make sure the cotton was to his liking, he lied down.  His head hung over the side of the cap as he looked out the window into the night sky. At the top of the tiny window, one he had chewed himself when he moved in, he could see a tiny sliver of the moon, hanging in the sky like a smile.  He looked up at if for a good long while.  He looked at it for so long, he swore he saw it move slightly on its journey across the night sky.  His eyes started to droop as his body relaxed.  Just as his eyes were about to close for good that night he inhaled slightly. “Merry Christmas, moon.” His eyes closed and Thomas Mouse fell asleep. ©2014 Grant Baciocco/Saturday Morning Media

TRANSCRIPT: Welcome to Attraction Checklist. This episode we head to Disneyland's newley christened Bayou Country to ride Tiana's Bayou Adventure. The Disneyland website describes this attraction saying: Drop on in and come along for the ride with Princess Tiana on an exhilarating musical adventure.  The thrill level describes the attraction as being a Thrill Ride that is a water ride with big drops. Before we head to the bayou, here are five fast facts about Tiana's Bayou Adventure at Disneyland. 1. In June of 2020, Disney announced they would be re-theming Splash Mountain at Disneyland and Magic Kingdom to Tiana's Bayou adventure, based on the 2009 film The Princess and the Frog. 2. The Magic Kingdom version of the attraction opened on June 28, 2024 and the Disneyland version is scheduled to open on November 15, 2024.  The audio for this episode was recorded during Magic Key holder previews on November 5, 2024. 3.  In September 2022, it was announced that several voice actors from the original film would be reprising their roles to provide voices for the attraction.  This includes Anika Noni Rose as Tiana and Michael-Leon Wooley as Lewis 4. Tiana's Bayou Adventure features 48 audio animatronics in the attraction including several state of the art figures for Tiana and Lewis. 5. There are no age or height requirements for this walk through attraction. Before we play with water, here are five fast facts about Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana. 1. Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana, was originally slated to open in 2021 as part of Walt Disney World's 50th anniversary.  The opening was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the attraction officially opened on October 16, 2023. 2. Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana is located in the World Nature neighborhood of Epcot near The Seas with Nemo and Friends. 3. Guests can take two paths as they explore Journey of Water.  Those who'd prefer not to get wet can take the dry path while those interested in interacting with the water can take the wet path. 4. Journey of Water keeps the original spirit of EPCOT alive as it teaches guests about the global water cycle and follows the journey of water from the sky to the sea and back again. 5. Several characters from the film Moana are hidden throughout the attraction, both on land and in the water.  The centerpiece of the attraction is not hidden at all and that is the 15 foot high sculpture of Te Fiti which is comprised of over 3000 pieces of foliage. http://www.attractionchecklist.com - Let's visit Mickey's Toontown at Disneyland to ride and review Chip 'n' Dale's GADGETcoaster on this episode of Attraction Checklist. Attraction audio recorded on July 31, 2023. TRANSCRIPT: Welcome to Attraction Checklist. This episode we visit Disneyland to ride Chip 'n' Dale's GADGETcoaster. The Disneyland website describes this attraction by saying, “Twist and turn on a speedy coaster ride built by the inventor mouse from Chip 'n' Dale's Rescue Rangers.  Riders must be 35” or taller to ride this attraction and the Thrill level describes it as being a Thrill Ride with Small Drops. Before we climb that tinker toy lift hill, here are 5 fat facts about Chip 'n' Dale's GADGETcoaster. 1. Chip 'n' Dale's GADGETcoaster officially opened with the rest of Mickey's Toontown on January 24, 1993.  On opening day, the ride was called Gadget's Go Coaster. 2. Having only a 44 second duration, this roller coaster is the shortest attraction in Disneyland. 3. Chip 'n' Dale's GADGETcoaster reaches heights of 27.9ft (8.5 meters) and soars up to speeds of 21.7 mph (34.9 km/h) 4. The character of Gadget, you greets you as you travel up the lift hill, is voiced by Tress MacNeille. 5. The ride was closed for refurbishment in 2022 and when it reopened in March of 2023 it had a new name and new figures of Chip, Dale and Zipper from the show Chip 'n' Dale's Rescue Rangers. Let's go squeeze ourselves into the impossible tiny cars of Chip 'n' Dale's GADGETcoaster.  Joining me the ride is John B. deHaas and After the attraction audio, we'll give you our thoughts on this attraction.  This is a binaural recordings so if you have headphone put them on now as we experience Chip 'n' Dale's GADGETcoaster at Disneyland The attraction audio recorded for this episode is available exclusively to the Saturday Morning Media Patron Patron.  Support the show and get fun Bonus content over at http://www.patreon.com/saturdaymorningmedia Episode edited by Stephen Staver FOLLOW US https://www.instagram.com/attractionchecklist/ http://www.twitter.com/SaturdayMMedia  https://www.linkedin.com/company/saturday-morning-media http://www.youtube.com/user/SaturdayMorningMedia?sub_confirmation=1 FOLLOW GRANT http://www.MrGrant.comhttp://www.twitter.com/toasterboy  https://instagram.com/throwingtoasters/ SOURCES: https://disneyland.disney.go.com/attractions/disneyland/chip-n-dales-gadget-coaster/ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gadget's_Go_Coaster Show ©2024 Saturday Morning Media/Grant Baciocco

The Disneyland website describes this attraction saying: Ride the historic, high-speed zero-emission transportation system that rockets along a single rail through the Disneyland Resort.  There are no age or height requirements for this attraction. Before we ride, here are five fast facts about Disneyland's Monorail. 1. The Disneyland Monorail opened on June 14, 1959.  When it opened it was called the Disneyland Alweg Monorail System.  Alweg being the German company that helped Walt Disney and Bob Gurr build the attraction. 2.
