This film was directed by Travis Hunter and based on the Mattel media franchise and is second live action film follow the 1987 film that starred Dolph Lundgren. This film stars Nicholas Galitzine, Camila Mendes, Alison Brie, Morena Baccarin, Idris Elba & Jared Leto. In this film, a young man is searching for his magic sword on Earth but is quickly drawn into an adventure that will lead back his home world to fulfill his destiny. The film went development hell after numbers of writers and directors came and went followed by studios trying to acquire the movie rights to the project but in 2023 Amazon / MGM came out the victor and began production the following year. The film hit theaters on June 5th, 2026 before landing on Prime Video the following month.
The Warhammer 40,000 live action series just went from "we assume" to confirmed. Henry Cavill has publicly stated he is starring in the Amazon MGM adaptation, not just executive producing it, and the character he is playing is staying under wraps for now. Amazon's God of War series is getting a new Kratos, and it might be the exact actor fans have been calling for since day one.
