As we wrap up the season, Nottingham Forest has announced a significant clearout of players whose contracts have expired or loans have concluded. Felipe, Cheikhou Kouyaté, Wayne Hennessey, and Harry Arter will all be leaving the club on a free transfer. Are you sad to see any of these players go? In other news, we're thrilled to announce that Ola Aina has signed a contract extension, keeping him at the City Ground until 2025. His commitment to the team is a boost for next season after the full back had an impressive first year at the City Ground, with his versitilty to play on both the left and right back positions. Additionally, our loan players Giovanni Reyna, Divock Origi, Nuno Tavares, Gonzalo Montiel, and Rodrigo Ribeiro will be departing the club as their loan agreements have concluded. We appreciate their efforts during their time with us and wish them success in their careers, but which player was you most dissapointed with this season. Nottingham Forest put in a poor performance as they lost 4-2 to Aston Villa in the Premier League on Saturday as they failed to build on their win against West Ham United last time out. The Reds went into the game without Ibrahim Sangare, Ola Aina and Willy Boly after they all returned from AFCON with injuries. Nuno Tavares was also ruled out with injury as Moussa Niakhate started the game at left-back and struggled, as many did. Goals from Ollie Watkins, Douglas Luiz (2) and Leon Bailey saw Forest well beaten even though they got it back to 3-2 with goals from Niakhate and Morgan Gibbs-White. Matt Davies, Mark Sutherns and Mikey Clarke discuss events at Villa Park. #nffc We're grateful for the support of our main sponsors, the Trent Navigation Inn. Nuno Tavares who is currently a Nottingham Forest player on loan from Arsenal has been trending in the last 24 hours as a shocking video went viral over social media. The controversial video is hard to watch for most people, but we will discuss some of the details in this video and our thoughts on the situation. Mangala's exit rumours just wont go away, with reports today that Napoli have come back in with another bid for the Belgium International. The bid involves a loan to buy, with Mangala heading to Italy for the second half of this season and if he was to participate in 50% of Napoli's games then a permanent move would happen in the summer for around £30 million. Is this a good deal for Nottingham Forest, especially given the fact that Mangala seems keen on an exit this transfer window. We also have an update on a couple of new transfer targets, with Forest already seeking a potential replacement for Mangala, plus more talk about Morgan Gibbs White and interest from Tottenham Hotspurs. We'll also discuss the early transfer talk as the January window opens with Scott McKenna, Andrew Omobamidele, Andrey Santos and Nuno Tavares all tipped to leave. There has also been a report that Forest could look to bring Keylor Navas back to the club due to the goalkeeping struggles of this season. Do like and subscribe to the podcast if you can. In this episode we discuss the 2-1 defeat to Brighton on Saturday. We start with Granit Xhaka's selection at left-back, how it impacted the team, and what it means for Nuno Tavares. We chat about the goals we conceded, the lacklustre performance when there was supposed to be a reaction, some poor decision making, and how a late flurry wasn't enough to prevent a truly disheartening result. There's also stuff on Alexandre Lacazette and the need for a change up front, as well as questions about a shift in formation, keeping fringe players more involved, VAR, our top four chances and Mikel Arteta, great rivalries and lots more.Get extra bonus content and help support Arseblog by becoming an Arseblog Member on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/arseblog – this month every penny we earn from Patreon will be donated to Unicef to help children affected by conflict around the world. In this episode, I'm joined by Charles Watts to discuss a difficult week for Arsenal on and off the pitch. We chat about the fallout from the Crystal Palace game, and injuries to two key players - Kieran Tierney and Thomas Partey, as well as the best way for Mikel Arteta to deal with their absences with Nuno Tavares and Albert Sambi Lokonga waiting in the wings. There's also a long discussion about what to do up front, with Alexandre Lacazette's lack of goalscoring contribution now becoming a significant issue for the team. Should being shorn of two experienced players have an impact on the Frenchman's place in the team? All that, and much more, including a reminder of our fundraising efforts this month.Follow Charles on Twitter @charles_wattsGet extra bonus content and help support Arseblog by becoming an Arseblog Member on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/arseblog – this month every penny we earn from Patreon will be donated to Unicef to help children affected by conflict around the world.Donate to the Arsenal Vision Podcast fundraiser, raising money for the Arsenal Foundation: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/avpgives See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
In this episode James and I cover the 3-0 defeat to Crystal Palace on Monday. We try and understand why Arsenal were so far off the pace in the first half, examine the goals we conceded, before discussing a second half which was better, but then it couldn't have been much worse. We chat about the substitutions, and there's a long discussion based on questions about how we cope with injuries to Kieran Tierney and Thomas Partey, whether Nuno Tavares will continue at left-back having been taken off at half-time, potential changes up front and lots more.Get extra bonus content and help support Arseblog by becoming an Arseblog Member on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/arseblog – this month every penny we earn from Patreon will be donated to Unicef to help children affected by conflict around the world.
