In this episode I'm joined by Kaya Kaynak to chat primarily about Arsenal's upcoming transfer business. We discuss the obvious need up front, and the potential timing of any new signing in that position, but also about the need to bring something different to the left side of the attack. There's analysis of what we get currently from Leandro Trossard and Gabriel Martinelli, as well as which would be the obvious candidate to make way for a new player, as well as thoughts on midfield and defensive additions, Ethan Nwaneri's role next season, the big jump for Max Dowman, and lots more.Download the new Android app here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.milkbarstudios.arseblogGet extra bonus content and help support Arseblog by becoming an Arseblog Member on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/arseblog Hosted on Acast. In this episode we look back at Sunday's 2-2 draw with Liverpool. Arsenal had a bad first half, conceding two very sloppy goals, but turned things around with a much improved second half performance. We chat about the key incidents, tactical changes at the break, the goals we scored, receiving yet another red card, almost winning it at the end, Liverpool fans booing their own player, and Mikel Arteta's post-match comments which verged on furious despite the fact we took what was a very important point. Then we answer listener questions about Ethan Nwaneri's lack of recent playing time, Gabriel Martinelli up front, what influence Andrea Berta will have this summer, spending on a back-up goalkeeper, and lots more.Get extra bonus content and help support Arseblog by becoming an Arseblog Member on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/arseblog Hosted on Acast. The Reds scored twice in quick-succession, but were pegged back after the break by goals from Gabriel Martinelli and Mikel Merino - who was later sent off for a second bookable offence. Prior to Merino's equaliser, supporters turned on Alexander-Arnold following his introduction as a second-half substitute as the Liverpool vice-captain made his first appearance for his boyhood club since confirming he would leave at the end of the season. The Reds remain 15 points clear of the second-placed Gunners, having already clinched the title, with three games left to play. Arsenal's Champions League dream ended in heartbreak to PSG 3-1 on aggregate. Despite a performance brimming with courage and pride.Trailing by a goal from the first leg, Arsenal stormed out of the blocks, pinning PSG back and forcing Gianluigi Donnarumma into a string of spectacular saves. Declan Rice, Gabriel Martinelli, and Martin Ødegaard all came agonizingly close, but it was the hosts who struck first-Fabián Ruiz's deflected rocket leaving David Raya helpless and deepening Arsenal's mountain to climb. The second half saw Raya briefly revive hope, denying Vitinha from the penalty spot, but PSG's Achraf Hakimi soon dashed those dreams with a ruthless finish to double the lead. Still, the Gunners refused to wilt. Bukayo Saka pulled one back, and moments later blazed over with the goal at his mercy, as Arsenal pushed desperately for a miracle that never came. The final whistle brought devastation, but also pride. Arsenal's young side fought until the end, showing the heart and belief that defines this club. They leave Paris with heads held high, knowing they stood toe-to-toe with Europe's elite. This is the Arsenal-brave, relentless, and always dreaming.

In this episode I'm joined by Tom Canton of Football London to discuss Arsenal's 1-0 defeat to PSG in the Champions League semi-final first leg last night. We discuss the way the visitors dominated the opening stages – were they very good or were the Gunners bad? We analyse the goal we conceded, and some of their other chances, before we look at the opportunities Mikel Arteta's side had to score through Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard. We also had a goal disallowed, but were probably fortunate in the end that PSG didn't score again. rsenal suffered a frustrating 1-0 defeat to Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League semifinal first leg, leaving our European dreams hanging by a thread after a performance brimming with missed opportunities and contentious moments. Despite the setback, the narrow margin ensures everything remains possible in next week's decider in Paris.  PSG struck early, silencing the Emirates crowd just four minutes as Ousmane Dembélé capitalized on a slick counterattack. The visitors dominated the opening half-hour, with Donnarumma rarely tested while David Raya denied PSG a second goal with a stunning save on Désiré Doué. Arsenal grew into the game before halftime, nearly equalizing from  Gabriel Martinelli's attempt.  Arsenal thought they'd leveled early in the second half when Mikel Merino powered home a Declan Rice free kick, but VAR ruled the goal out for offside. Donnarumma then stole the show, tipping a Leandro Trossard drive wide and smothering a late Lewis-Skelly effort. PSG squandered chances to extend their lead, with Bradley Barcola and Gonçalo Ramos and Joao Neves wasting gilt-edged opportunities, but Arsenal's attacking struggles persisted as their final-third precision deserted them.  Declan Rice battled tirelessly in midfield, orchestrating transitions and delivering dangerous set pieces, while Lewis-Skelly's fearless dribbling and vision offered glimmers of promise. Saliba anchored the backline admirably, limiting PSG's threats after the early goal, but the lack of cutting edge up front proved costly.  While the result stings, Arsenal's European campaign has been defined by resilience-remember Bayern and Real Madrid. A single goal separates them from a final in Munich, and with away triumphs already etched into this season's lore, the tie remains alive. There is more live in this team to turn it around. This is Arsenal: down but not out. The comeback starts now. C'mon Arsenal!

Arsenal cruised to a 4-0 victory over Ipswich Town, delaying Liverpool's Premier League title charge with a ruthless display at Portman Road. The Gunners' attacking fluency and defensive composure underscored their dominance, capping a stellar week following their Champions League triumph over Real Madrid.  Ipswich briefly threatened when Enciso miscued a chance early on, but Arsenal capitalized swiftly. A blistering counter-attack led by Martin Ødegaard and Bukayo Saka culminated in Leandro Trossard slotting home despite slipping, netting Arsenal's 100th goal of the season. Gabriel Martinelli then tapped in his 50th Arsenal goal after Mikel Merino's clever flick from Saka's cross, exposing the gulf in class. Ipswich's hopes evaporated when Leif Davis was sent off for a reckless foul on Saka, reducing Ipswich to 10 men before halftime. Arsenal's control intensified after the break, with Trossard adding a second via a low finish. Teenager Ethan Nwaneri sealed the rout late on, his deflected strike compounding Ipswich's misery. Standout Performances included Trossard's brace anchored by Mikel Merino's intelligence and a few other dominant performances. Arsenal's defensive discipline and rapid transitions overwhelmed Ipswich - made it a comfortable watch. Great team win. We go for another…pushing on! C'mon Arsenal!

Arsenal had another frustrating 1-1 draw against Brentford at the Emirates. Coming off the high of their midweek Champions League triumph over Real Madrid, Mikel Arteta's men struggled to replicate that intensity, albeit heavily rotated squad. The first half was an acceptable affair, but Arsenal unable to break down Brentford's organized defense. Kieran Tierney thought he had opened the scoring, but was  offside. The Gunners looked sharper after halftime, and Thomas Partey broke the deadlock in the 61st minute finishing off a swift counterattack orchestrated by Declan Rice, who continued his excellent form. However, Brentford responded just 13 minutes later; capitalized on a defensive lapse, hooking in an equalizer that stole our joy. Despite late pressure from Arsenal, including a near-miss from Bukayo Saka and a deflected cross from Gabriel Martinelli, we couldn't find a winner.Arteta's decision to rest key players like Bukayo Saka and Martin Ødegaard initially seemed justified rightfully so. Even after introducing his stars in the second half, the Gunners couldn't regain control. This game was a lot of individual brilliance, team resilience and a lot of endurance with 10 men. We turn our attention to what really matters now. There's still a lot to be proud of this team. Listen and share. Onward, Gunners!

In this episode I'm joined by Andrew Allen to discuss the 2-1 win over Fulham on Tuesday evening. We start with the good stuff, in particular the goalscoring return for Bukayo Saka, and a really bright performance from Gabriel Martinelli. Then we discuss the injuries to Gabriel and Jurrien Timber, as well as pre-game news about Ben White, and where that leaves us going into the Real Madrid games. What are the options available to Mikel Arteta, who tried to put a brave face on things after the game? And why are we sustaining so many injuries? There's also some detail of our April charity drive: we'll be donating 100% of our Patreon revenue to good causes, including the Arsenal Foundation, as well as supporting our friends at ArsenalVision Podcast as they launch their annual fundraiser - https://justgiving.com/page/avp2025Follow Andrew on BlueSky - https://bsky.app/profile/aallensport.arseblog.comGet extra bonus content and help support Arseblog by becoming an Arseblog Member on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/arseblog Hosted on Acast. Emirates was filled with joy as Arsenal edged Fulham 2-1. A game that showed the Arsenal players filled with confidence, resilience. Bukayo Saka's long-awaited return was the headline story, and what a way to mark it—with a decisive goal just minutes after stepping onto the pitch. Add to that Mikel Merino's continued brilliance, and you have a performance that left fans buzzing. This wasn't an easy ride, though. Arsenal started strong, controlling possession and creating chances, but injuries and defensive lapses kept things tense. Gabriel Magalhães' early departure with a hamstring issue was a blow, and Fulham's late goal reminded us of the defensive frailties and how much luck made our evening good in winning spirits. Yet, the Gunners showed grit and determination to secure three vital points.Saka's goal was a fairytale moment, made possible by Gabriel Martinelli's audacious flick—a play that will be replayed a lot. Meanwhile, Merino's opener highlighted his adaptability and importance to this side. Performances like these have to be applauded in several context. There's plenty to unpack from this game: the joy of Saka's return, the tactical tweaks from Arteta, and the standout displays from my top 3 players. Tune in as I break it all down in this byte-size episode—because this is Arsenal: never straightforward, always thrilling! Onward, Gunners!
