Hello Rank Squad! The (first) Transfer Window has officially closed, but there's been plenty of activity on the managerial merry-go-round across Europe, with new faces taking over at new places - to the delight of some and the chagrin of others. On today's episode we're looking at a number of new bosses and analysing how we think they fit their new home. We start with the most recent appointment - Brentford's Thomas Frank is all set to take over at Tottenham Hotspur, who moved on from Ange Postecoglou at the end of last week, and try to build on that Europa League trophy that Ange won in what turned out to be his final game. We discuss the differing approaches and how this might all work out; before moving on to talk about Xabi Alonso's new era at Real Madrid, after he left Bayer Leverkusen to replace Carlo Ancelotti; and his replacement at Leverkusen - former Manchester United and Ajax gaffer Erik ten Hag. Then in Part Three, we get stuck into the Calcio Chaos - Christian Chivu replacing Simone Inzaghi at Inter; Max Allegri returning to AC Milan to take over from the sacked Sergio Conçeição; Gian Piero Gasperini leaving Atalanta to take over from Claudio Ranieri at Roma, with the Tinkerman turning down the Azzurri to stay upstairs in the Eternal City; and former Gasperini disciple Ivan Juric replacing the old chessmaster at Atalanta. There's some chat too about the Club World Cup and some of the transfers yet to happen this summer at the start of the show, and don't forget to take a look at our Patreon, where there's loads more transfer podcasts and newsletters happening over the course of this summer. It's Ranks! And remember, if you'd like more from the Rank Squad, including extra podcasts every Monday and Friday (including our weekly Postbox taking a look at the whole weekend of football) and access to our brilliant Discord community, then why not join us here on Patreon?

CMS Changes and the Future of Value-Based CareJennifer Houlihan and Jennifer Gasperini of Advocate Health discuss the impact of new CMS and CMMI leadership, current challenges in value-based care, and the future of ACOs, ECQMs, and Medicare Advantage. A timely conversation for anyone navigating the evolving policy landscape.Welcome to the Move to Value Podcast, powered by CHESS Health Solutions. In this episode, we're joined by Jennifer Houlihan, Vice President, and Jennifer Gasparini, Director of Policy, from Advocate Health's Population Health Team. Together, we unpack the implications of the recent administration change, explore what new leadership at CMS could mean for value-based care, and hear their perspectives on the legislative priorities they hope to see take shape.Thomas Royal Jennifer Houlihan, Jennifer Gasparini, welcome to the move to Value podcast.Jennifer GasperiniThanks for having us.Jennifer Houlihan Happy to be here.Thomas Royal So you both just attended the NAACOS conference? Can you tell us what are some of the hot topics that folks were talking about?Jennifer GasperiniI can get us started.I think it's always great to see colleagues at the NAACOs conference and was also great to see Kim Brandt, who is the deputy administrator and COO at CMS, come and share some of Doctor Oz's priorities. For CMS and I think a lot of those priorities align really well with value based care. So they they really spoke a lot about tackling fraud and abuse. And as you know, ACOs are really the early identifiers of fraud. And so really was pleased to see them talking about that and also using technology and better data really for beneficiaries and providers to advance care. And I think ACOs obviously are very focused on that goal as well.Jennifer, do you have anything else to add there?Jennifer Houlihan Yeah. There, in addition, there were some really good sessions on the new team model, the transferring Episode Accountability model as well as guide and a lot of thoughtful conversation around how to integrate these models into the ACO and a clearer path for outcomes there. So I think there was a great discussion and got to give kudos to Jennifer. She was part of a really well attended and fantastic panel on how ACOs are adapting ECQMs and MIPCQMs and some of the kind of demands and multiple issues that are impacting ACOs on how to do all payer adjustments leveraging some of these requirements. So a lot of really timely topics and I think then the kind of final was Specialty Care integration, I think continued to be a recurring topic that we need to think more deeply about that and and how those get nested within cost, so hopefully we'll see more about that in the future.Thomas Royal So there is new leadership in place at HHS, CMS and CMMI.What does NAACOS think this might signal for the future of value-based care?Jennifer HoulihanSure, I I can. I can jump in on that one first, so I think you know, looking at Abe Sutton, you know, as as Jennifer mentioned, Kim Brandt was there from CMS. But we've also seen with Abe Sutton's appointment, who's been a strong supporter of value-based care. I think the mood was mostly positive, that there has been sort of a lot of statements, whether it's in some of the confirmation hearings, or direct statements that value-based care and the need to achieve savings is is one of the priorities. I think there's gonna be some different thinking about more aggressive requirements for more savings and as as as we've seen already, some of the model review that's already taking place. The ability to kind of end models early if they're not achieving the outcomes and the savings. So I think the mood in...

Jimbo's got Julien Laurens, Seb Stafford-Bloor, Rory Smith and Pol Ballús alongside him for all the latest continental chatter.Friday afternoon's Champions League draw presented some fascinating match-ups including Real v Atleti, Bayern v Bayer and PSG v Liverpool. We've got a closer look at all those ties with the round of 16 looming…In La Liga, it was a rare weekend where all three title challengers registered three fairly comfortable wins! It leaves Barca and Real locked on 54 points at the top, with Atleti just a point behind.Over in France there was plenty of drama on and off the pitch - with cowboy hats, calls of corruption and meltdowns caught on CCTV. Jimbo's got Julien Laurens, Seb Stafford-Bloor, Rory Smith and Pol Ballús alongside him for all the latest continental chatter. Friday afternoon's Champions League draw presented some fascinating match-ups including Real v Atleti, Bayern v Bayer and PSG v Liverpool. We've got a closer look at all those ties with the round of 16 looming… In La Liga, it was a rare weekend where all three title challengers registered three fairly comfortable wins! It leaves Barca and Real locked on 54 points at the top, with Atleti just a point behind. Over in France there was plenty of drama on and off the pitch - with cowboy hats, calls of corruption and meltdowns caught on CCTV. Hello Rank Squad! It's time for Champions League Takeaway, your late night delivery following the action - following the second legs of the new 'Playoff Round' in the competition, pitting the teams who finished 9th to 24th in the league stage against each other to earn places in the Round of 16.Wednesday night saw the headline tie of the round - Real Madrid vs Manchester City - settled by a Kylian Mbappe masterclass, with the Frenchman scoring a brilliant hat-trick to put the game far beyond the reach of Pep Guardiola's men and eliminate a Pep side before the Round of 16 for the first time in his managerial career. We talk how far off it City were, and how with the No 9 firing, Real Madrid might well just be favourites once again. There's also a discussion of the most entertaining game of the evening - PSV's extra-time triumph over Juventus which made the Old Lady the third (of three) Italian sides knocked out in this playoff round - two to Dutch opponents, and the other from Belgium - it's a good time to be from the Low Countries! And we talk briefly about PSG's absolute demolition job of Stade Brestois, and Borussia Dortmund's very uneventful seeing off of Sporting CP. Then in Part Two we chat through Bayern's late Davies dagger that broke Celtic hearts (it's a cruel game, sometimes), as well as Milan and Atalanta's respective headlosses as they crashed out to Feyenoord and Club Brugge respectively, as well as an incredibly fun encounter which saw Benfica emerge victorious against AS Monaco. It's Ranks! And remember, if you'd like more from the Rank Squad, including extra podcasts every Monday and Friday (including our weekly Postbox taking a look at the whole weekend of football) and access to our brilliant Discord community, then why not join us here on Patreon?

Hello Rank Squad! It's time for us to revisit a staple of the Ranks canon, looking at Europe's Big Seven leagues and examining where the most fun is going to be had in the title races at the end of the season. Some leagues look already done and dusted, others need reinvigoration very quickly if there's going to be any jeopardy, and a select few look like they could come down to the very last moments of the season for a Champion to be decided. We take a look at who sits where. Jack also gives some honourable mentions to some of Europe's less fashionable top leagues (shouts out Romania, where five teams are within a point and two goals in differentials after 26 games) and the promotion battles in a few of the second tiers, for good measure. Before all that, we have a discussion of the latest news that UEFA have signed a new deal with Relevant Sports in the US, opening up the conversation again that the Champions League final could be held in the United States. We discuss the pros and cons, in light of the recent Superbowl, and why the governing bodies should be a little bit careful about those plans. It's Ranks! And remember, if you'd like more from the Rank Squad, including extra podcasts every Monday and Friday (including our weekly Postbox taking a look at the whole weekend of football) and access to our brilliant Discord community, then why not join us here on Patreon?
Manchester City is on the brink of elimination while the likes of Brest and Lille are through. So with the final week of the group stage upon us, it is time to ask the question....is the new Champions League format actually really good?? Rog and Rory debate the ups, downs, and in-betweens of UEFA's grand experiment. Then, Rog and Rory revisit last year's Europa League champs, Atalanta, as they fight for both a Serie A title and a deep run into the Champions League behind the man, the myth, the dad jean legend...Gian Piero Gasperini. What makes Gasperini every manager's favorite manager? And is he secretly the best coach in Europe? All of this and more on the latest European Nights....See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
