La empresa aeroespacial norteamericana SpaceX lanzó este jueves los 40 satélites de la misión OneWeb 1 a la órbita terrestre baja desde el Complejo de Lanzamiento 39A (LC-39A) en el Centro Espacial Kennedy de la Nasa en Florida. Este fue el cuarto lanzamiento y aterrizaje de este propulsor de primera etapa Falcon 9, que anteriormente lanzó CRS-24, Eutelsat HOTBIRD 13F y una misión Starlink. OneWeb, la compañía de comunicaciones satelitales de órbita terrestre baja (LEO), retrasó varios días este lanzamiento para permitir verificaciones adicionales previas al despegue. Ha sido el decimoquinto lanzamiento de OneWeb hasta la fecha y el segundo desde que reanudó su campaña con un exitoso lanzamiento desde la India en octubre, lo que puso a la compañía en camino de brindar cobertura global en 2023.

“You gotta walk away from the elephant to see that sometimes adversity opens up new opportunities.” Brooke Lites  Denise talks to Brooke Lites, a woman with an established love of learning about to embark on a new career path, and Denise's daughter! Brooke says her experiences in higher education have been a great foundation for approaching problem solving. Her love of justice and fair-mindedness initially drew her to study law.  The toughest situation she's faced was her divorce in 2018, which she wasn't as equipped to handle as she thought. She's learned that whether the problem is personal or professional, keeping a sense of humor and rolling with the punches help get you through. Stressing the importance of asking for help, she's grateful to have a strong tribe to lean on; having an emotional support animal was a plus.  She says maintaining confidence is a daily exercise—that and going to the gym to get her endorphins going. She knows herself well enough to see the signs of self-doubt; that's when she leans into the present moment, changing what she can and accepting what she cannot. Instead of comparing herself to other women who seem like they have it all together, she honors all parts of herself as making her whole.   Brooke credits her mom for always making time for her and staying connected and the two enjoy a wonderful, loving friendship now. Growing up with a mom who ‘did it all' Brooke knows now that moms are more than the sum of the hats they wear. Seeing her siblings and their spouses enjoy parenthood is a privilege she hopes to one day share.  She says that working on big problems makes room for the opportunity to create big solutions and she reminds us of the words of Thomas Edison, “I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work.”  Brooke's sage advice to her younger self is good medicine for everyone:  Be more accountable.  Be softer and kinder with yourself.  Remember your worth.  Establish boundaries. Put yourself out there; make friends. "Cuando se fusionan, cuando se pelean, cuando se ayudan y cuando no", una vez entendido esto, entonces se puede enfrentar estructuralmente.Cuestionó que a pesar que en el país hay buenos estudiantes los que tienen acceso son los familiares de las élites. En este caso, dijo que lo que debe ocurrir es que en el año y medio que le queda a la actual administración se deben eliminar los auxilios económicos y aclarar el tema de las becas y los préstamos, para luego promocionarlos."No le pedimos más nada, solo que eliminen los auxilios y que en el próximo proceso se vea que va a pasar con la institución. Pero no puede ser botín político ya que es una institución que puede generar ayuda", afirmó el abogado.Recordó que cuando el director del Instituto para la Formación y Aprovechamiento de Recursos Humanos (Ifarhu), Bernardo Meneses, llegó a la institución fue motivo de orgullo, por ser joven, humilde, estudioso y con el perfil, pero ahora quedó atrapado por la lógica del sistema.

Arrancó la vida a 54 cadetes de la Escuela de Aviación Militar, flamantes egresados en su vuelo de instrucción, más los nueve tripulantes y otros cinco oficiales que los acompañaban. Se lo llamó “El vuelo de los cadetes” y en la medida que la investigación le fue vedada a los familiares, se convirtió en obsesión de madres e hijas de los tripulantes que pasaron a ser llamadas “Las locas del TC 48”. Más de medio siglo después, su suerte sigue siendo un misterio insondable. Hoy, hablamos en exclusiva con la hija de Esteban Viberti, el segundo piloto del TC-48. Denise talks to internationally competitive ice dancer, once ranked 12th in the world, and Olympian Isabella Tobias Lites, who also happens to be her daughter-in-law—or daughter-in-love, as she affectionately dubbed her. Isabella is married to Denise's son, Sam.  With so much accomplished in 30 short years, Isabella has a plenitude of proud moments. She's most proud of three things: her children, solid relationships with friends and family and the fact that she's always been able to remain true to herself. She feels fortunate to have parents who never wanted her to lose herself in her skating career. Their love and commitment inspired her to maintain her sense of self, eventually leading her to return to college and finish her degree which she put on hold to pursue professional athletics.  Her choice to end her athletic career happened amid dark and difficult circumstances. “As a figure skater it's your job to make things look effortless and glamorous and there's a lot that goes on behind the scenes that people don't see.” Again, she credits her support network with helping her overcome her sadness and rechanneling her energy into her studies at SMU.   Isabella's confidence comes from an inner resolve and a strong sense of self-worth. Like her mother-in-law, she loves fiercely and deeply. The two women share a special bond and a friendship that comes from a shared love of family, and a perspective that adding in-laws to a family reflects the group's expansion, and the greater possibility of even more love.  Tied for first place as her favorite Detroit moment, not surprisingly, are the first time she met Sam at Comerica Park and their fairy tale wedding celebration at the Fox Theatre.  Mother and Daughter-in-Love wrap up their heartwarming conversation with advice for new moms and new grandparents. Isabella says remember to, “give yourself some grace.”   ***  Representing both Israel and Lithuania, internationally competitive ice dancer and Olympic competitor Isabella Tobias Lites is a native New Yorker. From 1999 to 2007 she attended the George Balanchine School of American Ballet and performed with the New York City Ballet. Having moved to Michigan to pursue a skating career, she met her future husband, Samuel Lites, whom she married in 2017. In 2019, Tobias Lites finished her undergraduate degree at Southern Methodist University, where she was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority, Phi Beta Kappa, the Robert Stewart Hyer Society, and graduated with honors in May 2020.
