Lee en Josué 7:6-9 acerca de la reacción inicial de Josué ante la calamidad que les sobrevino. Concéntrate especialmente en el versículo 9. ¿Qué importante principio teológico se encuentra allí? En un primer momento, la reacción de Josué fue semejante a la de los israelitas en medio de sus penurias después de salir de Egipto, quienes dijeron: “¡Ojalá hubiésemos muerto por mano del Señor en Egipto, cuando nos sentábamos ante las ollas de carne, cuando comíamos pan en hartura! Ustedes nos han sacado a este desierto para matar de hambre a toda esta multitud” (Éxo. 16:3). Josué dijo: “¡Dios! ¡Señor! ¿Por qué hiciste pasar a este pueblo el Jordán, para entregarnos en manos de los amorreos, para que nos destruyan? ¡Ojalá hubiéramos quedado del otro lado del Jordán!” (Jos. 7:7). Poco después, sin embargo, Josué mostró su gran preocupación por el daño que el nombre y la reputación de Dios sufrirían como consecuencia de esta derrota. “Los cananeos y todos los habitantes de la tierra oirán, nos cercarán y raerán nuestro nombre de sobre la tierra. Entonces, ¿qué harás tú a tu gran nombre?” (Jos. 7:9). Esto revela un tema y un principio que eran centrales para los propósitos de Dios con Israel. Aunque quería que las naciones paganas de su entorno vieran las grandes cosas que Dios haría por su pueblo si le obedecían, también podían, como en el caso de Rahab, conocer al Dios de Israel mediante las conquistas de su pueblo. A diferencia de ello, si los israelitas fracasaban, como ocurrió aquí, las naciones considerarían débil e ineficaz al Dios de Israel (ver Núm. 14:16; Deut. 9:28), lo que podría envalentonar a los cananeos y acrecentar su resistencia. En otras palabras, en el contexto de la posesión de la tierra por parte de los hebreos había en juego grandes cuestiones y principios, que incluían dar honor y gloria a Dios, quien era la única esperanza tanto para los paganos como para Israel.Lee Deuteronomio 4:5-9. ¿De qué manera podemos ver aquí un paralelismo entre el testimonio dado por Israel al mundo y nuestro testimonio como adventistas del séptimo día?

Coctelera festival insignia de la cultura coctelera y el consumo consciente en Chile, celebra su 1ª edición en el Club Deportivo Refinería de Concón, los días 31 de octubre y 01 de noviembre, de 17:00 a 01:00 horas y reunirá a más de 30 expositores especializados en coctelería, destilados premium, cervezas, vinos, gastronomías y foodtracks, con propuestas para todos los gustos, incluyendo opciones vegetarianas y mocktails. Llegamos al ecuador de la semana y como todos los miércoles comenzamos con Manuel Delgado y Marta Sanz, en el Rincón y la Esquina, para hablar de todos los tipos de copias: de cuando han copiado en un examen, han hecho una falsificación o un plagio, cuando han copiado alguna actitud o modelo de actuación que mejoró las experiencias de vida como gemelo. Esta semana es de Pretérito Pluscuamperfecto con Ana Uslé que nos trae de vuelta la lectura de Fray perico y su borrico, uno de los libros más relevantes de la literatura infantil de nuestro país. Y por último, charlamos con Javier Peña Ibáñez, arquitecto y director de Concéntrico, el Festival Internacional de Diseño y Arquitectura de Logroño, sobre la creación y recuperación de los espacios públicos, como síntoma de la profundización de la democracia y del protagonismo de estos en la recuperación de la convivencia entre los ciudadanos.
Javier Peña Ibáñez, el arquitecto y director de Concéntrico, Festival Internacional de Diseño y Arquitectura que tiene su sede en Logroño, ha conversado esta mañana con Àngels Barceló sobre cómo la creación y recuperación de muchos de los espacios públicos de nuestras localidades resultan fundamentales para fortalecer la democracia y la convivencia entre los ciudadanos o como, en su opinión, por ejemplo, la pandemia nos hizo mucho más conscientes de la importancia de los espacios privados (nuestra casa) y de los espacios públicos (las calles de la ciudad)
