Exodus. How did Pharaoh chase Moses if God killed all the horsesRich vs Poor. Is it fair they get rewards in both here and heavenCan we walk on water with enough faith
Last Sunday we got an image of how Satan messes with the harvest. In this parable he isn't snatching the seed before he takes root he is sowing seeds of destruction – weeds. Many times we wonder why God just doesn't just get rid of it all but to pull the weed is to pull out the wheat. So evil and good co-exist and grow together until the end when everything is finally sifted. This is why we are on guard but have hope. 1 Peter 5:8-11 (ESV)Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. Resist him, firm in your faith, knowing that the same kinds of suffering are being experienced by your brotherhood throughout the world. And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you. To him be the dominion forever and ever. Amen.Matthew 13:24-30 (ESV)He put another parable before them, saying, “The kingdom of heaven may be compared to a man who sowed good seed in his field, but while his men were sleeping, his enemy came and sowed weeds among the wheat and went away. So when the plants came up and bore grain, then the weeds appeared also. And the servants of the master of the house came and said to him, ‘Master, did you not sow good seed in your field? How then does it have weeds?' He said to them, ‘An enemy has done this.' So the servants said to him, ‘Then do you want us to go and gather them?' But he said, ‘No, lest in gathering the weeds you root up the wheat along with them. Let both grow together until the harvest, and at harvest time I will tell the reapers, “Gather the weeds first and bind them in bundles to be burned, but gather the wheat into my barn.”'”
As we wrap up our series, “Forged,” JP shows us three unavoidable obstacles that are found in Scripture and how to combat them. JP looks to 1 Peter to show us how anxiety, temptation and suffering can be combated with a Kingdom first mindset. 1 Peter 5:6-10 1) In anxiety, humble yourself 2) In temptation, resist the devil 3) In suffering, practice patienceLife Group Questions: 1) When faced with anxiety, how can you effectively cast those burdens on the Lord knowing how much He cares for you? 2) Was there a time when you were hesitant to bring sin to the light out of fear that others wouldn't understand? What is a verse that you have clung to when faced with temptation? 3) What is a way that you can help others practice patience in times of suffering? Explain a time where you were shown grace in the midst of suffering.

1 Peter 5:8 - 1 Peter 5:8 (ESV) Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. Dear brothers and sisters, we walk rejoicing with our eyes fixed on Jesus. We are leading our families in the ways of Christ. We come together as a church family enjoying the godly company of one another. We are fighting the good fight enjoying the presence of God. Things are moving along well. At this time, we must be very alert and not drop our guard because our adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. The devil is a very real powerful entity, an evil spiritual person. According to Scripture, the devil has great power on earth, “being the prince of this world” and “the ruler of the kingdom of the air”. The Devil is revealed as a cunning and evil personal being who has the ability and the desire to attack and harm Christians. He attacks suddenly, viciously, and often when we are engaged in routine activities. The devil is in active rebellion against God who has leadership of many demons like himself.

Carlos the Assassin has been seen prowling the area close to where Meghan and Harry live. Not convicted murderer Carlos the Jackal but Carlos the Californian black bear and alleged killer of chickens. Meghan and Harry participated in the Global Citizen VAX Live Concert to Reunite the World this past weekend. I watched the Live Stream on You Tube along with 10s of thousands of others. The music was almost secondary to the video clips and appearances by various heads of states and faith leaders, urging either the equitable sharing of vaccines around the world, or alternatively asking everyone to get vaccinated.I hadn’t expected the Pope to make an appearance but there was Pope Francis giving a message pre-recorded at the Vatican. The Pope’s speech was edited down at the live concert, but you can read the whole text on the Vatican website. https://www.vaticannews.va/en/pope/news/2021-05/pope-francis-vax-live-concert-coronavirus-healing-videomessage.htmlThe Pope speech was almost non-religious, more an appeal to our morals and ethics. The Pope said he was adding his voice to what is a growing chorus of voices seeking wider and more equitable distribution of Covid-19 vaccines. Amid the “darkness and uncertainty” brought about by the ongoing pandemic, he said “we need light and hope." The Pope encouraged everyone not to forget the most vulnerable, saying that individualism and nationalism makes us indifferent to sufferings of others. He reminded us that we are all interconnected.Meghan and Harry fulfilled their roles as campaign chairs of the concert, with both of them giving speeches, Harry’s in person and Meghan by video from a bench (maybe The Bench) in the garden of their Montecito home.Their respective speeches showed a lot about their personalities.Harry’s two speeches had an almost a military tone to them as befitting his past career,Meghan’s speech drew on her continuing work for gender equity and speaking as mothers do when concerned for the world that their children will face. The morning after the concert Global Citizen were reporting the following. · $302 million pledged by Canada and Croatia, and $2.5 million from the private sector in support of the ACT-Accelerator to ensure the equitable delivery of COVID-19 vaccines, tests, and treatments.· 13.25 million COVID-19 vaccine doses pledged from Norway, Spain, New Zealand, Croatia, and the UAE to share doses regionally, and to vulnerable countries around the world.· $39.6 million in commitments pledged by corporate and charitable partners in support of COVAX, the worldwide initiative aimed at equitable access to COVID-19 vaccines. These pledges have been matched in funding to the value of $23.6 million, totaling $63.3 million. This funding alone will help t purchase almost 12.66 million COVID-19 vaccines.· Harry and Meghan’s initiative for donations in honour of Archie’s 2nd Birthday to donate to COVAX, had reached $535,000, which will help purchase 107,000 COVID-19 doses. Please listening for future podcasts on all things Meghan, Harry and Archie & check out other stories on my blog at https://www.kindthoughtsformeghanmarkle.com/

Piles of socks, underwear, leggings, and even a bikini have been mysteriously going missing in the seaside suburb of Sumner in Christchurch. But one resident has identified the thief – her cat.Mette Kristiansen says her one-and-half-year-old cat, Jasper, has been caught red-pawed with ill-gotten gains clutched in his claws. It's now so bad this week Kristiansen has been busy dropping off flyers to her neighbours in a two-block radius around her home."We got him when he was a kitten and started doing this burglarising about Christmas last year," she said.Jasper's main target seems to be socks, but he had also claimed gardening and working gloves, leggings, and shoes.A pair of gardening gloves taken by Jasper. Photo / SuppliedOne neighbour reported him stealing a bikini."I have heard that he definitely does gets into people's homes, he walks down their hallway and into their bedrooms. I've heard tales of him going upstairs...even houses with dogs. He makes friends with the dogs."Kristiansen said Jasper seemed to be "an incredibly intelligent cat"."One day I was in my bedroom and I think he was wanting attention - he jumped up on my duchess where my drawer was open a fraction. He put his paw down, got one little claw out, picked up one of my socks and flung it on the floor. He then did it again."Each day Jasper could steal up to five items.A pair of shoes Jasper has stolen. Photo / Supplied"He comes through our cat flap and just drops them in the hallway after his rampages around the neighbourhood overnight. Sometimes he gets a bit lazy and drops them around the garden."Each day she puts two large bins out by her front door filled with stolen items so her neighbours could collect anything stolen.Despite being a "wee bit worried" about the reaction from neighbours, Kristiansen said most people "love the story and find it extremely entertaining"."I don't think a lot of people realise they are missing items...that's why I'm finding it really hard to return things to people," she said.A Facebook page had also been set up.Neighbour, Brooke Carroll, and her three children – 7, 5, and 2 - were just some of Jasper's victims."He will steal socks...he steals lots from the clothesline, he's stolen upwards of 50 socks."The morning after Halloween they saw a bikini Jasper had stolen hanging on the front fence."The kids think it is hilarious...they can't find their rugby socks so we go and look in the Jasper bin."The New Zealand Purrlice have been approached for comment.By: Logan Church, NZ Herald

“the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour” and Trying to Get Your Rejection of God MESSAGE SUMMARY: The enemy is always at work seeking to destroy the fruit of the Lord’s field and your life. In John10:10, Jesus tells us: “The thief {enemy} comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.”. In 1 Peter 5:8, Peter tells you more about your enemy who is always with you: “Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil {enemy} prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.”. Continue to remember that the enemy is always attempting to mess you up and to destroy your witness. Also, the enemy is always attempting to destroy your relationship with God and to get you to reject God. The enemy does his evil in subtle ways, but his purpose is clear -- the enemy wants you off the right path. The enemy is always at work, and he never sleeps. TODAY’S AFFIRMATION: Today, because of I am filled with the Holy Spirit, I will not be controlled by my Self-Centeredness. Rather, I will walk in the Spirit’s fruit of Love. “The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.” (Galatians 5:22f). SCRIPTURE REFERENCE (ESV): John10:10-18;1 Peter 5:8-11; Ephesians 4:26-32; Psalms 50b:13-23. The bear has been stalking the taxidermy garden for ten weeks now, ever since Raffi showed up. Sometimes it disappears for a few days or a week, but it always comes back. Prowls the perimeter, looking for weak spots. From inside the taxidermy garden, Raffi feels the bear’s presence tugging on her, as though it has become the pole of her personal compass. In our final look at 1 Peter, we're warned about a danger that prowls, the devil who wants to devour us, a warning we need to take seriously, but we also see that he is resistible, that God gives us weapons to help us stand firm against his attacks.
We are more than honoured to be joined by the good brothers, K-Double for the twelfth episode of Beers, Beats & The Biz. This episode is a classic, packed with more stories, substance and insight than possibly any interview prior. Culprit the Captain and Dontez the Chief kick things off by breaking down their grind, coming up in the Brisbane scene and defining the sound they have become nationally known for. We get into everything from skateboarding, rhyme patterns and early studio sessions beyond the 4-3 Double and we continue through the rise of one of Australia’s finest duos. We talk all things Unkut, from working on Trem’s For The Term Of His Natural Life, filming Animal Kingdom and The Value of Adaptation, designing and defining logos and sound, all the way up to Corrupted Citizens and beyond. We can’t thank the boys enough, tell a friend to tell another friend about Kings Konekted and Beers, Beats & The Biz. Brought To You By The Beers Beats & The Biz Team Jake Biz Travis Broi Insideus
