Should the United States and Israel have launched a war against Iran? It's a question many people are asking. It has stirred intense debate, controversy, and even wild conspiracy theories. But let's step back and try to address this in a sober, rational, and thoughtful way—without politics, without propaganda and slogans, and without the noise that so often clouds our judgment.Perhaps the real question begins even earlier. Before we ask whether this particular war is justified, we must ask a more fundamental question: What is the case for war at all? War is bloody, painful, and tragic. There is nothing desirable about it. No one truly wants war. No one dreams of sending their sons and daughters to fight on a battlefield. So why do wars exist in the first place? And is any war ever legitimate?There are those, like Mahatma Gandhi, who argued that war is never justified—even when one is attacked. According to that view, violence should never be met with violence. But history forces us to confront a difficult moral dilemma: if aggression threatens innocent lives, is it always moral to stand down? Or are there circumstances where defending life may require force?So before we rush to conclusions, we need to establish a framework. What are the criteria that make a war morally justified? What principles should guide such a decision? Once we have that clarity, we can then apply those standards to our current situation. Doing so allows us to cut through the rhetoric, the pundits, the disinformation, and the distortions that dominate public discourse.Only then can we ask the real question: Do operations like Epic Fury and Roaring Lion stand on solid moral ground? Because history teaches us something very important—clarity of purpose is essential. When a nation lacks that clarity, it loses direction. At 1:15 in the morning on February 28, more than 200 Israeli Air Force jets took off from bases across the region, bound for Iran. They were soon joined by American B-2 and B-1 bombers and the full weight of U.S. air and naval power in the Middle East. Not long after in Tehran, the Iranian supreme leader was dead, along with dozens of the seniormost figures in his government. Operations Epic Fury and Roaring Lion had begun. Five days later, the Iranian missile arsenal is measurably degraded, the regime is in a succession crisis, Hizballah has entered the war from Lebanon, Kurdish forces have crossed the border from Iraq, a U.S. submarine has sunk an Iranian frigate in the Indian Ocean, and the Strait of Hormuz has effectively been closed to tanker traffic. Israel and the US launched a major joint strike on Iran on Saturday, with waves of attacks on sites across the Islamic Republic. US and Israeli officials confirmed that this coordinated strike has been months in the making. Fabian updates us that strikes targeted Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and President Masoud Pezeshkian, alongside other top regime and military commanders. We hear what we currently know about the strikes' results, even as Iran has retaliated with some 40 ballistic missiles so far. Schools have been canceled for the near future and medical centers around Israel have switched to emergency mode, moving critical patients and operations to underground complexes or protected spaces. There are two lions stalking the earth with opposite objectives, but they don't have equal power. Jesus has won total, complete, eternal, irreversible victory over Satan and the kingdom of darkness. The Lion of Judah has triumphed! In this sermon, Pastor Allen Jackson discusses the spiritual conflict raging in the earth and how we can stand firm against the enemy by staying close to the Lion of Judah. Many false versions of the gospel are flourishing in the Church right now—what are they, and how can we recognize them? In this sermon, Pastor Allen Jackson discusses the symptoms of widespread deception, distortion, and manipulation happening under the umbrella of “faith” today. He warns us to live with an awareness of messages that pervert the truth of the gospel of Jesus Christ to fit a popular worldview, agenda, or cultural fad. We learn from Peter and Paul that this is not a new problem; it's an age-old issue. To remain grounded in the Truth, we need to stay close to our Shepherd, the Lion of the tribe of Judah.
