Piše Marija Švajncer, bereta Maja Moll in Bernard Stramič. Knjiga Andreja Capudra Nedokončani spisi je sestavljena iz dveh delov: Esejev o Danteju in Breviarija. Avtorjeva soproga Majda Capuder v uvodnem zapisu Knjigi na pot pravi, da je zbirka esejev nastala v zadnjih letih moževega življenja. Njegova literarna pot se je začela z Dantejem in z njim se je tudi končala. Božanska komedija ga je spremljala ves čas: zanj je bila univerza, temeljna izobrazba in kažipot ob profesuri, politiki, diplomaciji in nikakor nazadnje ob družini. Plodovito življenje pisatelja, esejista, prevajalca in pesnika se je izteklo leta 2018. Načrtoval je po pet esejev za vsako kantiko, Pekel, Vice in Raj, vendar se zaradi smrti to ni uresničilo. Nedokončani spisi niso labodji spev, temveč izvrstni eseji, v katerih Andrej Capuder, čeprav že v zrelih letih, piše kot kak mladenič, poln ustvarjalne moči, iskrivih domislic in novih spoznanj. Njegova življenjska energija je nezaustavljiva, toliko vsega ima povedati. Zastavlja si vrsto vprašanj, kopiči dokazne razloge in kar naprej ugotavlja, da je še vse preveč tem, o katerih bi se bilo treba razpisati. Z veliko filozofsko vednostjo in obsežnim znanjem vstopa v Dantejevo Božansko komedijo. Že res, da je v naslovu omenjena komedija, toda, poudarja Capuder, v tem resnobnem delu zaman iščemo humor. Avtor osupne nad izdajalci in samomorilci v Peklu, zazre se v oči grešnikov v Vicah in se pošali na račun Dantejevega podrejanja pametni, vsevedni in moralno neoporečni Beatrice. Pekel, vice in raj Capuder prepoznava v starih časih in miselnosti visokega srednjega veka, vse skupaj pa s kritičnim pogledom prenese v naš čas in izreče par gorkih na račun demokracije, razbrzdane tehnologije in slabih medčloveških odnosov. Z izbranim besediščem, literarno bogatim slogom in miselno izvirnostjo vsebinsko ostaja tudi filozof in subtilen psiholog. Kot poznavalec človekovega duha, zavesti in njegove duše, ki ji pravi skrivnostna entiteta, prodira v skrito notranjost in razkriva obe plati duševnosti in ravnanja – tako dobro kot zlo. Edino dobro je samo resnica!, vzklikne. Pesniška resnica, tako je prepričan, pa ni nič manj čvrsta od zgodovinske. Capuder pripomni, da se nam danes tehtnica zla čedalje bolj guga in pri tem grozi, da nas bo vrgla s sedla, kamor smo se postavili v izbiri na vse ali nič. Dante Alighieri je marsikaj doživel. Kompromitiral se je v državljanski vojni med »belimi« in »črnimi« gvelfi, se pravi privrženci papeževe politike, usmerjene proti cesarjevi politiki. Večkrat je menjal stran in se zameril vsem, tako papežu kot cesarju, za katerega je na koncu gorel z dušo in telesom, kot opiše Capuder. Ker so rodne Firence Danteja zavrgle, je begal po svetu in kot večni prosjak umrl v cesarski Raveni leta 1321 v svojem šestinpetdesetem letu. Bil je pesnik, politik in državljan. Še predobro se je zavedal svoje nepriznane veličine. Uspelo pa mu je, da je združil čar besede in domišljije ter se hkrati postavil na stališče sodnika, ki mu nič človeškega ni tuje. Capuder mu pravi »naš pesnik«, pa tudi »dobričina«, kljub temu pa ugotavlja, da je v njegovih čustvih več negativnega kot pozitivnega in je pravzaprav bolj pesnik razuma kot pesnik srca. Ko se Capuder vrača k razkošju Dantejevega pesniškega sveta, v njegove misli vstopajo filozofi, ki so veliko vedeli o življenju in notranjih nasprotjih minljivega bivanja. Spet je slišati Kierkegaardove besede o bolezni za smrt in slutiti njegovo tesnobo, Nietzschejev nihilizem ni pozabljen in je vsiljivo sedanji, Bergsonovo sporočilo o intuiciji in smehu je nenavadno živo, ohranjeno je Camusovo občutje absurda. Dante je sprejemal preinterpretacijo Aristotelove filozofije, kakršne se je v svoji krščanski maniri lotil Tomaž Akvinski. Pred Capudra stopi vitez žalostne postave Don Kihot, širi se omamni vonj Baudelairovih rož zla. Drugi del knjige, Breviarij, je sestavljen iz maksim, aforizmov, dvogovorov s filozofi in kratkih modrosti. Besedo breviarij Capuder pojasnjuje kot misel, spoznanje in očiščenje, skoraj molitev in laični brevir, povzetek za nazaj, odprtje v prihodnost, vdor svetlobe v sajasto izbo, prepih, okna in notranji prostor. Te besede, že skoraj verzi, povedo dovolj, v nadaljevanju pa se pisec ne brani sočnega humorja in blagega posmeha. Kar precej ima povedati o človekovih nraveh in lastnostih, kot bogoiskatelj odkriva nova obzorja ter pred božjim obličjem v veliki meri ohranja individualno svobodo in izbiro. Dotakne se tudi politike in jo ima za umetnost kako zasebni interes pokazati kot javno dobro. »To varanje se začne in konča pri samem sebi, vmes je lahko milijone trupel. Edina 'resničnost' pri tej stvari so pravila igre. Največji prevaranti se najbolj sklicujejo nanje.« Nedokončani spisi so nadvse vznemirljivo in aktualno pisanje. Vsa ta domiselnost, izvirnost in miselna gibkost so tako žive, da je toliko bolj žalostno, da je ostala samo zakladnica idej, njihovega avtorja pa ni več med nami. Besede ostajajo in zvenijo s svojo prepričljivostjo, globino in zrcaljenjem človekovega bivanja, tako veličastnega kot tragičnega, peklenskih muk in iskanja raja. Andrej Capuder ni bil samo esejist, filozof in prevajalec, temveč tudi pesnik. Njegovo izražanje je prečiščeno in povedno v svoji poetičnosti. Tu in tam je žlahtno konservativen ter obuja vznemirljivo in lepo zveneče, že skoraj pozabljene besede, kot so: temnica, gorečnost, ošabnost, razjarjenost, stremuh … Rad tudi vzklika, na primer: Pazimo!, in navaja italijanske, latinske in angleške besede, tujk pa bolj malo. Kar naravnost svetuje: »Splača se brati velike mojstre umske gimnastike, zlasti tiste, ki so svoja spoznanja pridelali na lastni koži.« Knjigo Andreja Capudra Nedokončani spisi sta uredili klasična filologinja Sonja Weiss in filozofinja Ignacija Fridl Jarc. Sonja Weiss v spremni besedi piše, da sta obe deli, Eseji o Danteju in Breviarij, dovršeni v jasnosti misli in odprti za nadaljnje razmišljanje. Capuder je mladost kot enačbo za resnicoljubnost obdržal do konca, ker je ohranjal notranjo transparenco, moralni pogum in zvestobo samemu sebi. Razgaljal je nevarno samoumevnost nekaterih temeljev modernega sveta, od demokracije kot »nujnega zla mislečega človeštva« in navidezne družbene solidarnosti. Avtorjevo razmišljanje, tako Sonja Weiss, se ponuja kot vrelec večne mladosti, iz katerega je sam pogosto pil, s čimer je ohranjal napet lok, pokončno držo in svoj jaz, vsekakor pa je vztrajal v pogumu.

JP bumped into Cesar Sampson who was also invited to this reception and conducted an interview regarding his involvement in Eurovision 2026. Cesar represented Austria at the Eurovision Song Contest 2018 with the song "Nobody but you" coming 3rd. Pesnica in literarna kritičarka Tonja Jelen je že s prvo pesniško zbirko Pobalinka, prav tako pa tudi z drugo Greva, ostajava, saj sva pokazala razvejano in poglobljeno odsevanje individualnega bivanja. V lepo zvenečih verzih je poosebljala naravne pojave in jih povezovala s pojmi. Tako v impresivnih kot refleksivnih pesmih je upesnila osebno zgodbo in v njej nakazala ogroženost. V prizadevanju, da bi ohranjala moč, je bil otrok tisti, s katerim se ji je to posrečilo. Pesnica je intenzivno občutila ostre robove svoje eksistence, vendar ji je pisanje pesmi dajalo smisel in razlog za obstoj. V tretji pesniški zbirki Od točke nič je avtorica razgrnila spopadanje z ovirami, premagovanje zidov in vztrajanje na življenjski poti. Marsikaj se lahko izjalovi, v pesničino občutenje se zarine tudi samota, kljub temu pa je njena pesniška energija tista, ki ji pomaga ohranjati bivanje, in to tudi tedaj, kadar se ji dozdeva, da se je znašla v brezčasju. Mogoče se je vrniti, ostati in še vedno iti naprej. V novi pesniški zbirki Vtiskovanje so poudarjeni trije vidiki – eksistencialna stiska, feministične pobude in ustvarjalni postopek. Razraščata se bolečina in trpljenje, tu in tam podani neposredno, še večkrat obvladani, toda dovolj nazorni in estetsko zaokroženi. Pesnica v slikovitem slogu opozarja na nezavidljiv položaj žensk, izvirno, domiselno in inovativno je zlasti njeno pesniško prikazovanje, kako se loteva različnega pisanja, na primer analiz, interpretacij in literarnih ocen. Vse skupaj se začne z vprašanji: »Kje je luč / da me umiri / kje sonce / da me sprejme / kje svetloba / da mi daje upanje? / Kje?« Odgovori se razrastejo v poetičnih verzih, v katerih so bodisi vsebovani bodisi izraženi neposredno in v obliki izpovedi. Eksistencialno stisko razkrijejo subtilne metafore. V iskanju izhoda iz težavnega položaja je občutiti strah. Pesnica potuje vase, pomika se po skritih delih svoje notranjosti in, kot pravi, izpiše delce, ki se nabirajo v njej. Govori si, kako bi bilo treba ravnati, v hipu pa se ji zazdi, da bo zadoščala zgolj zaustavitev. V vsem tem vrvenju in negotovosti se namreč želi reševati z mirom in spokojnostjo. Veliko ji je tudi do tega, da bi začutila prostranost ter ločila, redčila in privzdignila tisto, kar iz korenin sije v prostranost: »nekaj me mora potegniti ven / praviš / zravnati moram sebe / da me spet ne upognejo drugi / da iz neke prozorne beline / nekaj začne sijati. Občutja prikliče tudi narava, toda v tem doživljanju je slutiti turobnost, že skoraj izenačeno z zunanjim dogajanjem. Bilke se upognejo, prasketanje potihne, veje zaledenijo, podgane migajo z repki in se režijo, slišati je tudi smeh hijen. Videti je, kot da narava umira in se ohlaja. Ljudje se bodo morali greti z notranjo toploto in pri tem ne bodo odveč pozornost in spretnost v odmikih in koncih ter iskanje ponovnih sklenitev. Večkrat se pojavi simbolika žil, omenjene so tudi rane, telo je razbolelo, toda protagonistka vseeno zmore ohranjati notranjo moč in obvladati takšne in drugačne izzive. Ženske, ki jim je treba dati glas ter opozoriti na njihovo zatiranost in odrinjenost, so upodobljene kot kurentice, vračke, sestre magdalenke in vile rojenice. Tonja Jelen jih nagovarja, toda kdaj pa kdaj jim je nekoliko podobna tudi sama. »kdo pa so te ženske? / še iščejo lastno sobo / tonejo / so zaprte znotraj / (nekoč) / so sploh kaj? / vračka / vrački / vračke …« In česa se pri tej razvejani razbolelosti zaželi pesnica? Kako se je mogoče izviti iz ogrožajočega položaja? »bila bi drevo / napajalka ožilja / zraščena z besedo / kot človek misel – / zglajena z / ravnino nebom zemljo / rastem vedno / jasneje.« Ustvarjalni postopek, ki ga Tonja Jelen prikaže v domiselno oblikovanih stihih, poteka kot tehten premislek, vstopanje v problematiko in odkrivanje bistva. Ustvarjalka išče mnogovrstne možnosti razlag, se poglablja v različna besedila, predeluje svoja spoznanja in sega po presežnem. »Raztelesim / napisano / pozorna na glasove / predelujem spreminjam pomen / kaj vse da en glas / in kaj vzame / središčim težišče / pomena / ga izklesam / prečešem / kaj bo zraslo iz tega // mogoče po nečem diši« Pesnica priznava, da izraz seseklja in ga rani, toda tudi izraz rani njo. Z besedami se spopada in gradi, kot pravi, nov imperij slovstva. Marsikaj je treba spiliti, pisati jasno, udarno in hkrati tiho, pregnesti strukturo, ji dati pravi pomen in začutiti tudi tisto, kar samo tli. Poezija zanjo niso le občutki in samo črke, temveč je vse to tudi izenačeno z žarčenjem, razčlembo in gradnjo. Včasih je tega na tisoče. Pesnica se vpraša, ali je mogoče vse to ubesediti. Vaja ne bo lahka, saj se zdi, da gre hudo zares. Tisto, kar nastane, pa so nekakšni nanosi premišljevanj. Na prvi pogled je videti, da so pesmi napisane brez ločil, pozorno branje pa tu in tam opazi kak vprašaj, oklepaj in poševnico, celo piko, tri pike in zvezdice. Naslovi so natisnjeni v krepkem tisku in se pomensko nadaljujejo v prvem verzu. Pesmi imajo tudi posebno likovno podobo, ki tu in tam kaže na to, kako se je treba spustiti nekam navzdol, na neznano dno. Nekatere besede so zapisane med poševnicami, z oklepajem izraz dobi dvojni pomen, dve besedi sta prečrtani, tri pike so v ravni vrsti ali nameščene druga nad drugo. Metafore zvenijo estetsko učinkovito in nekoliko mračno, na primer: izbruh črnih pijavk, črvičenje strahu, integracija misli, zvezena v sledenje, zvoki neučakanosti in druge. Po mnenju avtorja spremne besede Aljaža Krivca je Vtiskovanje Tonje Jelen fascinantno hibridna pesniška zbirka. Prevevata jo za pesnico že znana lirska tenkočutnost in glas intime, tokrat pa se jima pridruži še uporniški duh. Predstavitev pesniške zbirke Krivec na zavihku platnice sklene z besedami: »Pesnica v pričujoči knjigi z le par potezami seže v najrazličnejše dimenzije tega, kaj je poezija, ob tem pa ji ostaja globoko zavezana.«

Eva Marija represented Luxembourg at Eurovision 2026 with the song "Mother Nature" sadly only ending up at Number 12 in Semi Final 20 with 60 points though, the song has a strong message as Eva Marija explains to the Radio International Interview Team at the Turquoise Carpet. But also Alain Forrotti had the pleasure of a more in-depth interview with Eva Marija which you can hear on this week's edition of Radio International this week.  Cosmó, Akylas and Leléka at Eurovision 2026   Interview Clips from the Turquoise Carpet (Cosmó), Akylas, Leléka): The Turqoise Carpet marks the start of the Welcome Ceremony of the Eurovision Song Contest. The Eurovision Artists walk the carpet in front of the many Eurovision Fans and International Media who conduct short interview clips with the artists. This week listen to the interview clips JP, Marc and Salman did with Cosmó (Austria), Akylas (Greece) and Leléka (Ukraine). The Host Entry from Austria was performed by Cosmó called "Tanzschein" which reached Number 24 in the Grand Final. This week Alasdair Rendall continues the series looking at the Eurovision Song Contest 2026.     Tribute to Pierre Cao, Sophie Garel and Romuald:  Once again sad news hit the Eurovision Community during the month of May as three artists passed away. Pierre Cao was a very famous conductor at the Eurovision Song Contest conducting among others Luxembourg's winning song "Tu te reconnaitras" performed by Anne Marie David. He was also the Musical Director at the Eurovision Song Contests in 1973 and 1974. Pierre Cao passed away on 14 May 2026 at the age of 88. Then Sophie Garel passed away who together with her singing partner Chris Baldo represented Luxembourg at the Eurovision Song Contest 1968 with the song "Nous vivrons d'amour". Sophie passed away on 14 May 2026 at the age of 84. And Romuald Figuier passed away on 12 May 2026 at the age of 88 represented although being French Monaco at the Eurovision Song Contest 1964 with the song "Ou sont-elles passees" coming 3rd. Ppiše Marija Švajncer, bereta Eva Longyka Marušič in Igor Velše. Kakovosten in umetniško prepričljiv roman Pie Prezelj Bili smo trije je drugačen od romanov, ki pri nas izhajajo v zadnjem času. Ne gre za to, da bi moralizirali ali se skušali držati togih vrednostnih meril, temveč kratko malo za to, da je napisan čustveno ter brez vulgarnosti in dopolnjevanja z angleškimi besedami. Avtorica zna marsikaj že znanega povedati na nov in izviren način. V tretji osebi ednine razgrne pretresljivo zgodbo o iskanju naklonjenosti, sprejetosti in premagovanju tistega, kar je literarne like zaznamovalo v preteklosti. Protagonistka Olga, ženska v petdesetih letih, po poklicu fotografinja, brska po svoji preteklosti. Hoče izvedeti, kaj se je zgodilo ob njenem rojstvu. Zakaj je življenje preživela pri posvojiteljih? Jo je mati oddala? Jo je zapustila? Ji je dala vsaj ime? Naključja pripomorejo, da se sreča s polbratom Theom in maminim ljubimcem Jakobom. Odpotuje na oddaljen otok na severu. Pisateljica ne pove natančno, kje se vse skupaj dogaja in v katerem jeziku se protagonisti pogovarjajo. Pa saj to sploh ni pomembno. Poglavitno je, da iščejo pot drug do drugega in se skušajo zbližati. Pri tem jih kot posebno določilo povezuje spomin na pokojno Olgino mater, pravzaprav žensko, ki jo je rodila. Olga si zastavlja nova in nova vprašanja. »Je prišla? Po kaj? Vprašanje si je v mesecih pred tem zastavljala znova in znova, ga preobračala, razpirala, a bolj ko se je spraševala, kaj naj bi našla na otoku, ležečem tam nekje na severu, celino oddaljenem od nje, huje je postajalo. Toda vedela je, da mora iti.« Pisateljica menjava prizorišča in dialoge. Po zbliževanju Olge in Thea se v pripoved vplete materina življenjska zgodba, v kateri je mogoče izvedeti, da ni bilo čisto tako, kot je predvidevala zapuščena hči. Olga pestuje svojo bolečino s težo nečesa, kar se nikoli ni moglo uresničiti, toda tudi njena mati je spoznala, kaj sta trpljenje in nemoč, ter začutila, kako se lahko življenja mladega dekleta polastijo drugi ljudje, starši ali kdorkoli že. Izkaže se, da vse skupaj sploh ni črno-belo. Ljudje bi si morali vsaj malo prizadevati, da bi se vživljali drug v drugega in se skušali razumeti. Zgodijo se čarobni trenutki, ko so se zbližajo, potem se v hipu spet oddaljijo drug od drugega, morda tudi zato, ker vsak postavlja sebe pred ostale, saj je prepričan, da je njegova bolečina največja. »Morala je izvedeti, izvedeti nemudoma, a ne zato, da bi ji spričo tega nato laže odpustila, pač pa da bi se veter, ki je pihal skoznjo in jo razdiral, naposled in enkrat za vselej polegel.« Pia Prezelj nas mojstrsko vodi skozi čas, ki ga doživljajo literarne osebe. V strnjenem slogu in estetsko subtilno razkriva njihove občutke in nakazuje tudi tisto, kar skušajo skriti drug pred drugim. Slog je delno lapidaren, delno pa prepreden s čudovitimi metaforami, zlasti kadar pisateljica opisuje naravno dogajanje na otoku, kamor se odpravi, da bi kaj izvedela o materi in tudi sami sebi. Narava je nepredvidljiva, morje tudi nevarno, megla pa tu in tam tako gosta, da se samotni sprehajalec lahko izgubi v njej. Jakob je že v letih in prav njemu se zgodi, da se med tavanjem utrudi in ga morajo otočani poiskati. K sreči ga najdejo in potem si z Olgo izmenjata nekaj naklonjenih besed. Že prej sta našla pot drug do drugega. Pisateljica zna dogajanje prikazovati s posebno notranjo napetostjo, tako da se med branjem začnemo bati slabega razpleta. Kdo sestavlja trojico, ki je navedena v naslovu? Morda Olga, Theo in Jakob, pisateljica pa razkrije, da so to Olgina mati, njen fant in nerojeni otrok. Kako bo resnico, kakršna koli že je, sprejel ta fant? »Jo prezira? Mu je odleglo? Ni vedela, kako naj mu pojasni, da ji je kljub trudu spodletelo, kako naj mu pove, da jo je izdolblo, izpraznilo, da nima več od kod jemati, da mu nima česa dati. Tam, na zadnjih sedežih razgretega avtomobila, jo je tolažilo le eno: za kratek hip so bili trije.« Pesnica, pisateljica, etnologinja in kulturna antropologinja Ana Svetel v spremni besedi primerja roman Bili smo trije z avtoričinim nagrajenim prvencem Težka voda in v obeh delih odkriva pripovedni minimalizem. Ugotavlja, da so človeške zgodbe in situacije tako usodne in težke kot tudi drobne, rahle in upovedane z obilico praznega prostora. Namesto slikanja umeščenosti v tok zgodovine in družbe je videti, kot »da lebdimo v občutenih prostorih, tipajočih srečavanjih, krhkih slutnjah in zlasti v obilici samote, celo osamljenosti«. Pia Prezelj je po mnenju Ane Svetel v svojem pisanju poetična in ekonomična hkrati. Osrednja tokova pripovedi, prostorski in odnosni tok, se na poetičen in impliciten način stakneta. Za konec je treba reči, da ni brez pomena, kaj o svojem novem romanu pravi avtorica. Na predstavitvi knjige Bili smo trije je povedala, da gre med drugim za sorodstveno razmerje ter hkrati za tekočino odsotnosti in občutek manka. Vsi ljudje imamo občutek odsotnosti nečesa in iščemo dom, poraja se nestabilnost resnice. Pia Prezelj, ki opravlja novinarsko delo, je bila tudi fotografinja in se po svoje, kot pravi, v novem romanesknem delu pokloni fotografom. Brez velikih besed je treba srečanje z romanom Bili smo trije skleniti, da je kratko malo lep in čustven v dobrem pomenu besede, liričen in v marsičem tudi čudovito skrivnosten. Ni me sram priznati, da sem prvič, odkar sem brala roman Ringlšpil pisatelja Franja Husama Najija, jokala. Lepota, umetniškost in globina izpovedi lahko privabijo tudi solze, čeprav si domišljamo, da smo razumni, kritični in primerno zadržani ljudje.

Marija Verner is the Digital Education Manager and Research Specialist at YPCCC. She studies how people around the world understand, experience, and respond to climate change, with a focus on cross-national public opinion, gender and development, and the spatial distribution of climate risks. This show is a refresh of Episode 371 with a new take!   In October of 2025, I visited Croatia on a scouting trip with my friend Brett from Walk & Wine Croatia (check them out and take a trip with them! Marija and Barişa are the best guides!) to see if there was a possibility of me hosting a patron trip there! It was a fantastic trip and I learned so much about the country and the wines.
