Alex Bogomolov Producer Interview | Feature Film "Ruthless Bastards" Production has wrapped for the action thriller feature film “Ruthless Bastards” starring Sean Patrick Flanery, Casper Van Dien, and Parish Verma. Producer Alex Bogomolov and Wai Sun Cheng announced the film was in production from October 17 and wrapped on November 10, 2023, in and around Vancouver BC. “Ruthless Bastards” was written by Varinder Jhattu. With a budget of $3 million USD, director Bruce Fontaine (Beyond Redemption) is creating an edge-of-your-seat, action-packed film showcasing his Hong Kong style action roots. Action Lab Productions, Pandapix Pictures, and Early Ignition Entertainment are producing the feature film. “Ruthless Bastards” is being distributed by Brian Sweet of APL Film. Joining Sean Patrick Flanery (Boondocks Saints 1 &2, Born a Champion, Young Indiana Jones) and Casper Van Dien (Starship Troopers 1 & 2, Tarzan & the Lost City, Sleepy Hollow) are Indian singer/actor Parmish Verma (Rocky Mental), Sydney Scotia (Frank and Penelope, Some Assembly Required, Reboot: The Guardian Code), Theresa Lee Lee Hung (You're Hired, Psych) and Hasleen Kaur (CAT, Tu Jhooti Main Makkar, Mili Cat) Former partners in crime, Nico (Van Dien) and Rick (Flanery) reunite for a final mission against a ruthless crime boss. Amidst infighting, corrupt police, and a hostage situation, they must set aside their hatred and work together to succeed. Two men each have $5 Million worth of reasons to put aside their hatred of one another. At the center of everything are Sunny Gill (Parish Verma) & the Sergeev brothers. As Nico & Rick are trying to uncover the deal that the unlikely partners are brewing, Rick's old resentment towards Nico resurfaces, complicating their ability to work together. “Ruthless Bastards” was produced under the jurisdiction of ACTRA and had an interim agreement by SAG-AFTRA to shoot during the strike. Actor Bob Frazer's filmography is packed with ne'er-do-wells, evil puppet masters, and smarmy bastards. Bob was Roger Hayden, also known as the Psycho Pirate, in Supergirl and Arrow – a supervillain who could control the emotions of everyone around him. He was the Sourcerer, a criminal mastermind hacker, in the thoroughly entertaining (albeit divisive) ReBoot: The Guardian Code. He was a slimy luxury car dealer lording over a hapless dad portrayed by Eric McCormack in Drinkwater, the indie hit that wowed audiences at the 2021 Whistler Film Festival. And he's Alban Hearst, a key figure in the anti-witch terrorist organization the Camarilla, in Freeform's brilliant Motherland: Fort Salem, which is currently filming its third and final season. In 2018, Bob won the UBCP/ACTRA Award for Best Actor for his work in The Cannon. Bob played Colton, AKA The Cannon, an ailing adult-film star struggling to prevent the collision between his personal and professional lives. Bob is also a regular on stages around town – including for titular roles in Shakespeare plays at Bard on the Beach – and he's been nominated for more than a dozen Jessie Richardson Theatre Awards. In this engrossing conversation, Bob discusses the joys, challenges, and allure of giving life to dastardly characters. Episode sponsor: Fish Flight Entertainment

One of the most exciting parts of ROBOTICON Tampa Bay is the way it brings together some of the best volunteers and staff within the FIRST community from all over the state of Florida. One of those wonderful people in attendance in 2018 was Stacey Jones, the Affiliate Partner for FIRST LEGO League and FIRST LEGO League Jr. in South Florida. Stacey has been involved with FIRST for over 20 years in a variety of roles. Stacey is such an important part of the Florida community that she won the 2019 Volunteer of the Year Award at FIRST Championship in Detroit. As the Affiliate Partner, Stacey is responsible for scheduling and planning all of the events for both FIRST LEGO League and FIRST LEGO League Jr., including tournaments and research presentations. She also makes sure that everyone involved, such as coaches and judges, get the training they need to be successful in their roles. Most importantly, she is responsible for making sure that everyone experiences calm events and a smooth season. Fortunately, FIRST provides a host of resources to help her with those goals, which also provide an opportunity to try for a consistent experience, whether students are in South Florida or Los Angeles. This season, the South Florida group has been lucky to attract some new sponsors who are just as excited about FIRST as Stacey is. One partnership is with Netflix, particularly with the reboot of the 90s series Reboot. The new version of the series, Reboot: The Guardian Code, addresses a more modern version of the computer - not focusing on the struggles of an old mainframe, but instead on the interconnectivity of the internet. A few students are chosen to help defect the internet, including with the help of the original animated cast. In addition, she has been working with INFENTO, who produces a modular system for ridable robotics.Sponsored by: Support our coverage by shopping Amazon here. Next week? Retrogaming! ## Episode outline ### Fandom Facts **History and Origins:** > ReBoot is a Canadian CGI-animated action-adventure television series that originally aired from 1994 to 2001. It was produced by Vancouver-based production company Mainframe Entertainment, Alliance Communications and BLT Productions. The series follows the adventures of a Guardian named Bob and his companions Enzo and Dot Matrix as they work to keep the computer system of Mainframe safe from the viruses known as Megabyte and Hexadecimal. It was the world's first ever half-hour, completely computer-animated TV series. ... > > A reimagined, live-action/CG-animated series, ReBoot: The Guardian Code, was announced in 2015 and is slated to premiere on Netflix worldwide (excluding Canada) on March 30, 2018. YTV will later broadcast the series sometime in June 2018. > > — [Wikipedia - ReBoot](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ReBoot) **Search Data:** Considering that the show aired until 2001, _Google Trends'_ usual 2004 limit on data almost works in this case! Interest in the show has been mostly flat, or [arguably on a very slow decline](https://trends.google.com/trends/explore?date=all&q=%2Fm%2F01k3bp). There have been some notable spikes in interested around July 2007 (likely due to the announcement of a potential trilogy of films), May 2008 (Countdown to the launch of a webcomic, _Code of Honor_), December 2010 (Possibly due to the rights being acquired for a full DVD release) and February 2018 (The announcement of _ReBoot: The Guardian Code_ with a release date). The top ten countries, by search volume: Canada, Philippines, South Africa, Kenya, United States, Pakistan, New Zealand, Croatia, Puerto Rico, and Singapore. [// 100 Can, 47 Phil, 37 US ]: # **Size of Fandom:** Some of the notes on ReBoot in fanlore mention it as a [microfandom](https://fanlore.org/wiki/Microfandom): a source with some interest beyond a single fan, but perhaps not with a specific community or fansite, or without a lot of fanworks. That being said, we can still give a rough estimate of the size of the fandom based on a few different data sources: - There are [over 4000 ratings on IMDB](http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0108903/) - The [ReBoot subreddit has over 1600 subscribers](https://www.reddit.com/r/ReBoot/) With so few data points, and the new series not being released yet, it's hard to estimate the size of the fandom. A rough estimate would be in the low _tens-of-thousands_. **Fanac Fast Facts:** - Archive Of Our Own has [almost 90 fanworks related to ReBoot](https://archiveofourown.org/tags/ReBoot%20(TV)/works) - Did you know that Gillian Anderson was in an episode of ReBoot? - The show only had 4 seasons, totaling 48 episodes, and the delay of seasons three and four was partly caused by Mainframe entertainment's work on other TV shows - Over 30 different established computer games are featured throughout the series ### [Last Episode's](http://fanthropological.com/e/scp-foundation-its-all-winks-and-nudges-or-is-it/) Famous Last Words **G** How much non-nostalgic interest is there in the series?
