It reached number seven on the US Billboard 200 album chart, while topping the Top R&B Albums chart for five nonconsecutive weeks. Today I'm joined by Julie Berghoff. Julie is a Production Designer who won the Emmy and the Art Directors Guild award for The Handmaid's Tale. She was also nominated for excellence in production design on Electric Dreams based on the short stories of Philip K. Dick. Her first feature film was Saw, directed by James Wan which earned over 103M. In 2005, she segued into comedy, designing the Oscar and Golden Globe Nominated Film, The Kids Are Alright and in 2015 Emmy Winner, Olive Kitteridge both directed by Lisa Cholodenko. I had her on the show today to discuss her Emmy-nominated work on Apple TV+ The Studio.

Recorded in 1995 following the release of D'Angelo's debut full-length 'Brown Sugar', 'Live at the Jazz Cafe' is a live album by neo-soul luminary released on June 30, 1998, on EMI Records. It was later released in Japan on December 7, 1999, with a bonus track. The live recordings are taken from D'Angelo's appearance at the Jazz Café in London, England, on September 14, 1995. The album was subsequently re-issued in 2014 with a recording of the complete show, including previously unreleased tracks. Detroit's automakers are grappling with a future that is no longer electric, it's autonomous. After racing full steam ahead towards electric vehicles, the momentum has stalled as consumers are opting for hybrids. Even as consumers opt for hybrids, they are increasingly interested in autonomy and the emergence of personally-owned autonomous vehicles. However, the question still remains whether traditional OEMs have the will or the ability to develop in-house and commercialize an autonomous driving system that is reelable and scaleable. If they can not develop it in-house, they will have to license the technology with the risk of becoming a contract manufacturer for the autonomy industry. What seems like a climate-action utopia to Western analysts appears to be a pragmatic response to pollution and energy security concerns. China's vulnerability to maritime oil blockades has spurred aggressive electrification across transport, industry, and urban infrastructure; and its state capitalist model has enabled a pace and scale of investment in nuclear power, electrified transport, and renewable energy that makes Western efforts to achieve an energy transformation look piecemeal.
