Not even Star Wars is immune to gentrification, huh? In the most delightful Skeleton Crew episode so far (S1, E5, “You Have A Lot To Learn About Pirates”), our faves navigate the mud baths and grottos of the spa planet Lanupa. (It's the former hideout of ferocious pirate Tak Rennod.)The spa offers a wealth of opportunities for our characters to dress up, let off steam, escape death traps, and find hidden treasure—but it's the heel-face turn at the end of the episode that really has us blowing steam. We also explore how a parent's love could lead to the downfall of At Attin society. (Eeep!)Fingers crossed you enjoy this episode in your very own mud bath.Want more Growing Up Skywalker? God's call to the kingdom and what to do when you get there.
In the story of Ruth and Naomi, two powerful forces facilitate Naomi's redemption. They are friendship and favour. Naomi and her family left home during a famine, seeking better opportunities, but their decision led to further hardship and loss. Ruth's unwavering loyalty and friendship to Naomi help Naomi navigate the journey home into God's promise and redemption. Their return brought about a new beginning, safeguarded by Boaz - Ruth's new husband, and symbolized by the birth of Obed, highlighting the transformative power of friendship, favour, and God's provision.Visit Our Website for more content, info, and to support our ministry.
In this episode, we explore the importance of having a mediator in our lives, particularly through the role of Jesus Christ. The discussion centers on how trusting and depending on God are fundamental to our spiritual journey as a community. We highlight the power of humility, the strength we find in fellowship, and the way shared experiences can help us grow both personally and spiritually. The conversation concludes with reflections on how God views us and how the enemy seeks to sow division. We close in prayer, thanking God for His redemptive power and the unity He brings to our church family.
Michael Meade considers how as the world rattles around us and the soul trembles, balancing symbols and archetypal energies stir deep within us. If we can hold the tension of the immediate limitations, we can connect to the soul's power of redemption and life's natural energies of renewal. Archetypes, like instincts, are part of our inner inheritance. They hold all the potentials of life and can initiate creative responses to the challenges and dilemmas we face. As the outside world becomes more divided, the sense of creation coming from within repeats and renews the origins of life as when the sky and earth were separated and the world began. The archetype of creativity connects us with the deepest roots of humanity and the ancient roots of renewal. The emergence of imagination and inspiration from within is a revelation of our undaunted soul and a little redemption as each act of creativity brings something new and meaningful into the world. Embark on a journey into the heart of Advent's most profound theme: love and its atoning power. Today's conversation, enriched by Matthew's daughter, Abby's, insights, shines a spotlight on the often overlooked yet crucial concept of propitiation from 1 John 4:10. Together, we navigate the complexities of this theological term and its implications on divine wrath and Jesus Christ's ultimate sacrifice. We confront the stark reality of sin and the uncompromising nature of God's justice, pondering the immensity of a love so great it bridges the chasm of our estrangement from the divine. The episode comes to life as we draw poignant parallels with the life of baseball legend Ty Cobb, whose story of transformation exemplifies the redemptive power of love.Support the showFacebook | Website
