Our own Frank Dietz recently flew the Damn Dirty Geekjet to Colorado to visit with members of The Revival League Podcast -- Greg Tally, Robb Maynard, Ron McAdams and Jackey Neyman Jones, the actress who survived playing young Debbie in the notorious MST'ed film target MANOS: THE HANDS OF FATE. The gang starts off disussing the recent Revival League radio play "What About Blob?", a parody of the classic 1950s teen horror film starring our honorary Damn Dirty Geek, Brian Howe, along with Dietz and MST3K alums Trace Beaulieu and Frank Conniff. The Revival League has produced nine audio plays along these lines, including a Shakespearean parody of PLAN 9 FROM OUTER SPACE and a riff on Orson Welles' War of the Worlds broadcast. DDG listeners have already sampled The Revival League's comedy stylings in our previous Shorts in a Bunch: Back to School episode, also including Dietz, Beaulieu and Conniff. The Revivalists give listeners previews of fun new plays and shows in their pipeline. Greg, Rob, Ron and Jackey also share their own "geek origins" stories about growing up on a wide range of influences including Godzilla and Toho films, Monty Python comedy, A Muppet Christmas Carol, and '90s TV horror shows. Jackey also shares a behind-the-scenes story about the making of and premiere of MANOS when she was a child. Now it's time to meet the Revival League in our latest podcast episode! Get photos and more info about this episode on the Damn Dirty Geeks website.

Hearken back to Renaissance England, when Queen Elizabeth I ruled, and Sir Francis Drake circled the globe, and the great playwright and Immortal Bard Edward D. Wood Jr. dominated the stage. The Revival League is proud to present, in radio play form, a classic production of Ed Wood's "The Tragicall Historie of Plan the IX," with Dana Gould; original theme song by Greg "Storm" DiCostanzo of Paul and Storm; Tim Blaney from "Men In Black" and "Short Circuit," Frank Dietz from "Zombie Nightmare," and Jackey Raye Neyman Jones from "Manos: Hands of Fate." And be sure to check out Part 1, with more alien menaces, more undead ghouls, more stupid humans, and more Dana Gould!
After completely selling out in Hollywood, The Revival League proudly presents the director's cut of “Do Rabbots Dream Of Electric Cheepz?” Remastered with fancy-schmancy special effects and integrity-compromising CGI at great personal expense, “Do Rabbots Dream of Electric Cheepz?: The Final Cut” delivers the ultimate Rabbot experience, featuring touched up versions of both Parts One and Two of Robb Maynard’s sci-fi classic radio play (as far as something released a month ago can be considered classic). Described as “half-‘Blade Runner’, half-‘Watership Down’, and half-insanity” (which is too many halves), “Do Rabbots Dream of Electric Cheepz?: The Final Cut” is an edge-of-your-seat thrill ride into a futuristic dystopia populated by intelligent rabbits and their chocolate vassals. This original sci-fi comedy is a work of satire based upon or inspired by Ridley Scott's motion picture “Blade Runner,” Phillip K. Dick's novel “Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?,” Karel Čapek's 1920 stage play “Rossum's Universal Robots,” and Richard Adam's novel “Watership Down.” Written by Robb Maynard and featuring the vocal talents of Tim Blaney (“Men In Black,” “Short Circuit”), Frank Dietz (“Zombie Nightmare”), Carolina Hidalgo (“The Mads Are Back! Podcast,” “SiriusXM”), Jackey Raye Neyman Jones (“Manos: The Hands of Fate”), and all the rest of your favorite Revival League Podcast Players (if any).

The Rabb-olution will not be televised! Whether a month late or 11 months early, Future Easter is here in the form of the Revival League’s latest original radio play, “Do Rabbots Dream of Electric Cheepz?" The planet Efrafa (formerly Earth) is now a futuristic dystopia populated by highly-intelligent Easter Bunnies, who build a despised underclass of cybernetic chocolate rabbits to use as forced labor. When the chocolate rabbots (or rabb-licants) rise up against their furry oppressors, a Blade Hopper named Periwinkle must quell the violence before it ignites into a full-blown Rabb-olution. The Revival League proudly presents an original comedy-horror spoof of Orson Welles’s famous science fiction radio play, “The War of the Worlds.” It’s All Hallows Eve, 1939. Depression-era America goes blissfully about its trick or treating and Halloween parties, or tuning their Philco radios to the Independence Broadcasting Systems to laugh along with, “Clobber McGee & Irish Dave.” But America is startled when a massive alien cylinder slams into the New Jersey countryside, sending the Independence Broadcasting Systems news team scrambling to cover the extraordinary event. Soon cylinders are slamming into cities all over the United States and the world. Inside them are menacing Martian tripods, tall as skyscrapers, and armed with deadly alien technology. The body count rises and the Eastern Seaboard falls before the Martian onslaught, as the world’s combined military might proves not enough to stop the invasion. Humanity itself is threatened with extinction, and a team of earnest news reporters brings Armageddon right into your living room! Written and performed by the Revival League Podcast Gang, “War of the Worlds” promises thrills, chills, laughter… and hollowed out cows. Adult situations and language. Rated NSFW - Not Safe for Work. (Wear your earbuds! And keep watching the skies!)
Time for your just desserts! The thrilling conclusion of the Revival League’s latest original radio play, “Do Rabbots Dream of Electric Cheepz?" The futuristic rabbit dystopia of Efrafa is plunged into complete anarchy as its underclass of chocolate workers stages a violent Rabb-olution against their flesh and blood masters. Blade Hopper Periwinkle must use his wits (and his sweet tooth) to overcome his dangerous adversaries and foil their fiendish schemes. STARRING: Tim Blaney - Mr. Marigold Frank Dietz - Roy Bunny Deanna Dolphin – Madame Marbles/ Agent Skedaddle / Cheepz / “Salt Peter Rabbit” Shill / Rabbocop’s Wife Jaime Flowers - Ms. Honeydew Ben Haslar – Rabbocop Carolina Hidalgo - Inspector Tophat Jackey Neyman Jones - Zinnia Quinn Keating – Cricket / “Paws of a Stranger” Shill / “Buck Up” Shill Conor Lastowka - Cinnamon Robb Maynard – Narrator / Periwinkle / Wigwam / Agent Mosey/ Krix Cereal Kid 1/ Jimmy Stewrabbot 3/ Gene Celery / Rabbocop’s Chief Ian Morrison - Pansy the Cook Ron McAdams - Fourleaf / Krix Rabbot / Jimmy Stewrabbot 1/ Candy Rooney / “3 Foot” Spokesbunny Kate Page - Blimp Voice James Rohling – Buttercup / Gingersnaps/ Krix Cereal Kid 2 Natalie Ryan - Pickle Dylan J. The results are anything but revolutionary. It’s a Long March as the gang questions the means of soda production, all while sipping such Iron Curtain flavors as tarragon, elderberry, bitter lemon, sour cherry, quinine and anise. Soft drinks from Slovenia, the Czech Republic, Georgia, and Bosnia and Herzegovina all march across everyone’s taste buds, until their poor palates start Stalin out. This Labor Day Special certainly left its Marx. The consensus: most of these beverages would be improved with a stiff shot of vodka. All this, and a long winter’s bread line, on this week’s episode of the Revival League Podcast! (This podcast does not represent Alternaversal, Shout Factory or the Kickstarter campaign in any official capacity). Next up from the set of Season 12 of "Mystery Science Theater 3000," the Revival League interviews Test Subject and Show Host Jonah Ray... but something seems a little off. Who will win in this battle of wits... Jonah Ray, or his stand in, Fauxnah Ray (who noisily eats a sandwich during his interview)? Greg heads to Salt Lake City for a MSTie baby shower, and hangs out with James. In the Mini Soda Review, Greg and James dive into the purple, syrupy horror that is Bedford's Marionberry Cream. And Ron interviews Kickstarter hopeful Zach Peterson, who is currently crowdfunding a MST3K-themed indie video game, "Hard as Cheese," for P.C. Android. All that, and some happy baby wishes for James and Aimee, on this week's episode of the Revival League Podcast! On this episode of the Revival League Podcast, it's a special crossover as Erik Koski, host of Junk Mouth, joins Ryan, Robb and Deana Dolphin to eat red white and blue foods and spend far too much time discussing the sex lives of whales! It's an Independence Day spectacular! All this and, seriously, A LOT of discussion about whales, on this week's episode of the Revival League Podcast! After completely selling out in Hollywood, The Revival League proudly presents the Director’s Cut of “Do Rabbots Dream Of Electric Cheepz?” Remastered with fancy-schmancy special effects and integrity-compromising CGI at great personal expense, “Do Rabbots Dream of Electric Cheepz?: The Director’s Cut” delivers the ultimate Rabbot experience, featuring touched up versions of both Parts One and Two of Robb Maynard’s sci-fi classic radio play (as far as something released a month ago can be considered classic). Described as “half-‘Blade Runner’, half-‘Watership Down’, and half-insanity” (which is too many halves), “Do Rabbots Dream of Electric Cheepz?: The Director’s Cut” is an edge-of-your-seat thrill ride into a futuristic dystopia populated by intelligent rabbits and their chocolate vassals. The Chicago comedy group Down In Front delivers some of the funniest regional riffing on cheesy movies in America. The Revival League sits down and interviews the Down In Front gang about their upcoming shows, and what it’s like to work with MST3K host Jonah Ray. While Robb and Ryan are off feverishly editing another project, Greg, Kate and Ron don their Infinity Gauntlets and talk about “Avengers: Infinity War.” In, “Music! Science! Cats!” Kate talks about the Jonah Raydio podcast, resurrecting 220-year-old beer from an Australian shipwreck, and her Stupid Cat Gadget of the Week, rubber deshedding gloves. In the Mini Soda Review, Greg drinks a lonely Jarritos Fruit Punch solo. And then Erica pens A Very Adamant Stance against hospital visits, while James reviews the MST3K classic episode, “The Magic Sword.” All this, and a Bizarro World park where owners throw squeaky dogs for their pet balls to chase, on this episode of the Revival League Podcast! (This podcast does not represent Alternaversal, Shout Factory or the Kickstarter campaign in any official capacity). Comedy writer Mary Robinson created riffs for 11 out of 14 episodes of Season 11 of, “Mystery Science Theater 3000: The Return.” From, “Cry Wilderness” to “Starcrash” to “Avalanche,” Robinson’s riffs are everywhere. The Revival League sits down and interviews Robinson about her unique stamp of humor. Meanwhile, sickness fells the rest of the podcast team, so it’s up to Greg and Ryan to hold down the fort while everyone convalesces. In the Mini Soda Review, Greg and Ryan taste Rocky Mountain Soda Company’s Orange Creme. Then Ron rises from his sickbed to interview Emm Ledsam, who is raising money to bring Frank Conniff and Trace Beaulieu to the United Kingdom. All this, and a curious kid who asked an angry barn owl how many licks it takes to get to the center of a Tootsie Roll Pop, only to have his eyes clawed out by the angry raptor, on this episode of the Revival League Podcast! It’s the Revival League’s 100th episode! If these episodes were Dalmatians, the podcast would be just one away from either starring in a Disney movie or running a puppy mill! Regardless, it’s the big One-Oh-Oh, so the podcast gang – Ryan, Greg, Ron, James, Erica, Erik, Robb, Natalie (and alas, no Kate) – gather to celebrate and reminisce. They start where they began, with a Mini Soda Review of Fentiman’s Dandelion and Burdock. Have their attitudes changed towards Fentiman’s, given all the crappy sodas they’ve tasted in the interim? The answer might underwhelm you! The gang is joined by “Manos: The Hands Of Fate” actress Jackey Neyman Jones, who debuts her new podcast, “Jackey’s Hand of Horror” immediately after the Revival League Podcast. But first, Jackey takes the reins to interview the Revival League’s guest #1 – none other than Jim Henson Puppeteer Grant Baciocco, the man behind MST3K’s Golden Spiderduck, Crow T. Robot! And there’s A Very Adamant Stance against Greg’s Porg onesie, which dammit, he just refuses to button. All this, and a very special “Smucker’s 100 episodes young” greeting from Al Roker on the, “Today Show,” on this week’s episode of the Revival League Podcast! And make sure to stay tuned afterward for the premiere episode of Jackey's Hand of Horror! On their very first episode, Jackey, Tonia and Rachel talk about puppets and review a movie trailer for a classic 80s horror film, and Jackey chats with Mike Senna, the builder of amazing, functional replicas of famous movie robots like WALL-E, EVE, and, of course, R2D2! It's a New Year's Eve special as Junk Mouth host Erik Koski joins Kate, Greg and Ryan, along with special guests Robb Maynard, Natalie Ryan and Ron McAdams, to sample some choice New Year's Eve beverages. Will Erik hit a home run with his beverage selections? Will the gang ring in the new year with style? Will Ryan actually be cheerful? Well, no, not that last one. But still, it's a fun time! All this and no discussion of porgs, on this episode of the Revival League Podcast! It’s our Boxing Day special, a day late because Ryan lost track of time! On this episode of the podcast, Greg, Kate and Ryan welcome guests Natalie Ryan, Ron McAdams and Pam Brisjar. The gang discusses Christmas plans and Erik hands out samples of Ikea’s proprietary soda. It’s just as good you’d expect a furniture manufacturer’s soda to be. On this episode of the Revival League Podcast, Kate once again ropes in special guests Ron McAdams and the ghost of James Rohling to fill in while Greg and Ryan are locked away completing the Christmas special. Kate, Ron and Ghost James chat about upcoming movies and whether Tommy Wiseau is an alien, and Kate decides that James just can't live up to Ryan's rage quotient. And in a previously recorded interview, Ryan and Kate chat with RiffTrax writer Sean Thomason about his love for MST3K, getting the job at RiffTrax, and surviving "Batman v. Superman". In "Reviewers in the MST," James and Ron examine the calamity that is "Pumaman". Will they survive the experience? Will Ryan ever tire of the cruel and unfunny joke that James is a ghost? The answers to all this and a wronged platypus out for revenge on this week's episode of the Revival League Podcast! PLUS: Make sure to tune in next week for the Revival League Podcast's epic, feature-length comedy radio play: "Soylent Scrooge; or, Christmas is Made of People" -- a heartwarming retelling of "A Christmas Carol", with all the cannibalism and fourth-wall-breaking Dickens would've wanted. And you can play along at home, too! Three rounds, with the questions answered at the end of each round. Plus, the podcast gang finally interviews Jay Wolf Schlossberg-Cohen, all around Renaissance Man and director of “Cry Wilderness.” Even better, Ron sings; Bigfoot drinks Coca Cola, and Kate rocks a dinosaur hat. Happy Thanksgiving! It’s time for the annual Revival League Podcast Feast, this year featuring back-to-back interviews with “Samurai Cop's” Mathew J Karedas and “Eegah's” Arch Hall, Jr! The podcast gang breaks bread and eats an uneasy, dysfunctional family meal together. Erica won’t quit throwing food. James can’t stop crying. Greg gets drunk and verbally abuses everyone. Ryan unleashes a string of profanities and jealously guards the mashed potatoes and gravy, and threatens to hurt anyone who draws close. Ron is exiled to the kiddie table. Erik and Kate haze the very harried newbie Natalie in the kitchen, while Natalie just wants to give everybody the bird. Plus Erica and her hubby Cory deliver a special holiday message all the way from Miami. Also, look for a very special upcoming radio play produced by the Revival League, our original black comedy, “Soylent Scrooge: Or Christmas Is Made Of People,” airing December 19. Comedians Frank Conniff, Trace Beaulieu and Carolina Hidalgo drop by the studio and talk turkey with the podcast gang, and rage on Ryan for disliking pumpkin pie. Yes, it's Holiday Movies With The Mads! Along with the figgy pudding and pecan pie and that damned fruitcake, there are holiday movies out there are simply tradition. The Mads grab a fork and dig into Gremlins, Die Hard, A Christmas Story, Jingle All The Way, Emmet Otter's Jug Band Christmas, and Nestor the Long-Eared Christmas Donkey. Then Frank, Trace and Carolina debate which foreign holiday food would be better for consumption: raw blubber and fermented birds (Greenland) or fried worms (South Africa)? In the “Mini Soda Review,” everyone samples Pelligrino Aranciata, a blood orange flavored beverage just not to Frank’s liking. The podcast gang also discusses a very special episode of the Revival League, our original black comedy, “Soylent Scrooge: Or Christmas Is Made Of People,” airing December 19. All this, and an Audrey II and a Stranger Things Demogorgon locking lips in a truly disturbing public display of affection, on this week’s episode of the Revival League Podcast! The Revival League Podcast proudly presents an original comedy-horror spoof of Orson Welles’s famous science fiction radio play, “The War of the Worlds.” It’s All Hallows Eve, 1939. And keep watching the skies!) (This podcast does not represent Alternaversal, Shout Factory or the Kickstarter campaign in any official capacity). It takes a lot of “BRAINNZ!” to enjoy this episode. We chat with the great Kevin Murphy of Rifftrax and MST3K fame about "Night of the Living Dead," the zombie flick as a vehicle for social commentary, making fun of "Casablanca," and the difference between art and schlock in the horror genre. Joining in the undead mayhem is Junkmouth podcast emcee Erik Koski as a guest host, because regular host Kate Page fled to Canada to avoid The Hunger. The podcast gang discusses a very special episode of the Revival League, our original comedy-horror retelling of “War of the Worlds,” airing this Halloween. In “Spooky Movies We’d Like to See Riffed,” an ancient Micmac burial ground that resurrects the dead, along with some heavy movie camp, rises from the grave with 1989’s “Pet Sematary.” Then it only takes four men to do Kate’s job in her absence. Our weekly installment of “Music! Science! Cats!” examines the music of Salt Lake-based wrestler/rapper Scott “Rhyme Time” Knopf, the astronomical discovery of two colliding neutron stars, and Fish and Chips, the backpacking adventure cats. Because Greg just can’t help tampering with eldritch horrors he doesn’t understand, he brings another pumpkin pie soda to the recording studio. Ryan’s reaction to R.W. Knudsen Sparkling Pumpkin Spice does not disappoint. And in “A Very Adamant Stance,” Erica dabbles in the occult to put her pushy boss in his place. Plus, James and Ron take on "Final Justice." All this and Nerf’s new line of “Lucille Be Kind" Soft Foam Bats for Kidz (for Negans of all ages!), on this week’s episode of the Revival League Podcast!
