Our own Frank Dietz recently flew the Damn Dirty Geekjet to Colorado to visit with members of The Revival League Podcast -- Greg Tally, Robb Maynard, Ron McAdams and Jackey Neyman Jones, the actress who survived playing young Debbie in the notorious MST'ed film target MANOS: THE HANDS OF FATE. The gang starts off disussing the recent Revival League radio play "What About Blob?", a parody of the classic 1950s teen horror film starring our honorary Damn Dirty Geek, Brian Howe, along with Dietz and MST3K alums Trace Beaulieu and Frank Conniff. The Revival League has produced nine audio plays along these lines, including a Shakespearean parody of PLAN 9 FROM OUTER SPACE and a riff on Orson Welles' War of the Worlds broadcast. DDG listeners have already sampled The Revival League's comedy stylings in our previous Shorts in a Bunch: Back to School episode, also including Dietz, Beaulieu and Conniff. The Revivalists give listeners previews of fun new plays and shows in their pipeline. Greg, Rob, Ron and Jackey also share their own "geek origins" stories about growing up on a wide range of influences including Godzilla and Toho films, Monty Python comedy, A Muppet Christmas Carol, and '90s TV horror shows. Jackey also shares a behind-the-scenes story about the making of and premiere of MANOS when she was a child. Now it's time to meet the Revival League in our latest podcast episode! Get photos and more info about this episode on the Damn Dirty Geeks website.

Described as “half-‘Blade Runner’, half-‘Watership Down’, and half-insanity” (which is too many halves), “Do Rabbots Dream of Electric Cheepz?: The Director’s Cut” is an edge-of-your-seat thrill ride into a futuristic dystopia populated by intelligent rabbits and their chocolate vassals. This original sci-fi comedy is a work of satire based upon or inspired by Ridley Scott's motion picture “Blade Runner,” Phillip K. Dick's novel “Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?,” Karel Čapek's 1920 stage play “Rossum's Universal Robots,” and Richard Adam's novel “Watership Down.” Written by Robb Maynard and featuring the vocal talents of Tim Blaney (“Men In Black,” “Short Circuit”), Frank Dietz (“Zombie Nightmare”), Carolina Hidalgo (“The Mads Are Back! Podcast,” “SiriusXM”), Jackey Raye Neyman Jones (“Manos: The Hands of Fate”), and all the rest of your favorite Revival League Podcast Players (if any). (This podcast does not represent Alternaversal, Shout Factory or the Kickstarter campaign in any official capacity). EDITOR’S NOTE: In June 2019, this podcast merged with the Damn Dirty Geeks Podcast and became The Damn Dirty Drive-in. These are our classic back catalog episodes, dating back to March 2016. Please enjoy! The new Drive-In podcast opens for business with original sketches, movie discussions, interviews, weird food tastings and more at Episode 168.
Time for your just desserts! The thrilling conclusion of the Revival League’s latest original radio play, “Do Rabbots Dream of Electric Cheepz?" The futuristic rabbit dystopia of Efrafa is plunged into complete anarchy as its underclass of chocolate workers stages a violent Rabb-olution against their flesh and blood masters. Blade Hopper Periwinkle must use his wits (and his sweet tooth) to overcome his dangerous adversaries and foil their fiendish schemes. This original sci-fi comedy is a work of satire based upon or inspired by Ridley Scott's motion picture “Blade Runner,” Phillip K. The Rabb-olution will not be televised! Whether a month late or 11 months early, Future Easter is here in the form of the Revival League’s latest original radio play, “Do Rabbots Dream of Electric Cheepz?" The planet Efrafa (formerly Earth) is now a futuristic dystopia populated by highly-intelligent Easter Bunnies, who build a despised underclass of cybernetic chocolate rabbits to use as forced labor. When the chocolate rabbots (or rabb-licants) rise up against their furry oppressors, a Blade Hopper named Periwinkle must quell the violence before it ignites into a full-blown Rabb-olution. Frank Dietz is known in “Mystery Science Theater 3000” circles for his role as Detective Frank Sorrell in “Zombie Nightmare.” But chances are, if you saw and loved a Disney animated movie of the late ‘90s or early ‘00s, Dietz played a part as a talented animator: “Hercules,” “Mulan,” “Tarzan,” “Fantasia 2000,” “Atlantis: The Lost Empire.” Dietz also reminisces over working with Adam West (“Batman 66”, “Family Guy”). Ryan is out sick this week, so stand-up comic Robb Maynard joins Greg and Kate in the studio. The podcast gang celebrates Rifftrax’s successful Kickstarter to bring “Krull” and “Space Mutiny” to the big screen. And in the Mini Soda Review, the podcast gang drinks “Old Dominion,” a delicious root beer from Virginia. In “Music! Science! Cats!,” Kate explains how chimerism fuses embryos into single organisms that are half-and-half rarities. Robb and Greg review the Rachel McAdams/Jason Bateman comedy, “Game Night.” All this, and a BBC nature special where Sir David Attenborough says, “fuck it,” and fracks a sperm whale for its oil, on this week’s episode of the Revival League Podcast!
Mark Frazer of “Samurai Cop” drops by the podcast to talk about his new Kickstarter project, "Anti-Hero," and share anecdotes about his "Samurai Cop" co-stars Robert Z'Dar and Mathew Karedas, as well as writer/director Amir Shervan. Former stand-up comic Robb Maynard joins Ryan, Greg and Kate in the studio. In the Mini Soda Review, the podcast gang drinks a Mexican-made apple soda, Mundet Sidral. In “Music! Science! Cats!”, Kate explains how the noises of popping shrimp may help baleen whales locate zooplankton. In “Cheesy Movie’s We’d Like To See Riffed,” Greg talks about the ‘90s Billy Zane vehicle “The Phantom.” And everyone enthuses about the latest installation from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, “Black Panther.” And in “A Very Adamant Stance,” Ryan just can’t microwave his frozen TV dinner. All this, and a happy dog in an alternate universe celebrating The Year of the Human, on this week’s episode of the Revival League Podcast!
