This week on aBlogtoWatch Weekly, Rick starts the show with a question about Ariel's recent column about luxury watch pricing and its downstream effects. Ariel has much to say about this topic beyond the obvious. Who knew this was a can o' worms? Leave it Ariel to dig up questions in a space that seems well understood. Check your assumptions, people! Ripley and David weigh in from their own experiences as longtime enthusiasts. Rick then pops a photo on the screen of a luxury yacht designed to hold eight people, sinking under the weight of 32 souls. Not sure what this has to do with watches, except those sinking like they have stones in their pockets are likely debating how to save the watches they're wearing. In a similar vein, David presents his favorite marketing pitch — yes, this was an assignment — can you tell these guys get a lot of emails that seem quite random? (Don't miss the bit about the Trump watch error. We Americans love it when Rick rubs our noses in the country's current political administration. "No, I'm laughing WITH you!") The fun continues throughout the hour with a mix of levity and serious watch talk. Tune in!

TALK TO ME, TEXT ITHave you ever witnessed something seemingly ordinary that suddenly strikes you as deeply strange? That's exactly how this episode begins—with a curious observation about a man spraying chemicals on a lawn without proper equipment, sparking questions about environmental safety and everyday awareness. The conversation quickly shifts to alarming territory as we explore a shocking case from Texas involving a mother who allegedly purchased weapons and military gear for her young son, encouraging his disturbing plan to commit violence at his middle school. With details about impromptu explosives and ammunition found by the grandmother, this story raises profound questions about parental responsibility and the early warning signs of potential violence. We also dive into the controversial decision by Providence, Rhode Island officials to fly the Palestinian flag at City Hall. This exploration of national symbols and government representation challenges our understanding of appropriate flag displays and what they communicate about our values and priorities as communities. Should government buildings display anything beyond American and state flags? The debate continues to divide opinions across the political spectrum. On a lighter but equally bizarre note, we share the story of a $640 Trump-themed watch that arrived with a manufacturing defect—missing the critical "T" to spell "RUMP" instead. This consumer complaint highlights the peculiar intersection of political merchandise, quality control, and customer service in our increasingly polarized marketplace.Throughout these seemingly disconnected stories runs a common thread about American identity, values, and the strange reality we navigate daily. What do these incidents reveal about our society? How should we respond to the bizarre and concerning events happening around us? Share your thoughts and join the conversation—and don't forget to answer our question of the day using only food emojis!Buzzsprout - Let's get your podcast launched!Start for FREE Thanks for listening! Here comes the rain & cooler temps. Looks like there's a good chance we'll get a severe thunderstorm during the overnight tonight and it's gonna be much more seasonable this weekend. In the news this morning, we talked about the upcoming weather, Judge Dugan filed to dismiss the charges against her, a Milwaukee high school has an excessive rat problem, an update on a semi vs. train collision, and a recall on eye drops. In sports, the Brewers managed to get a win against the Guardians last night, we recapped last night's NBA & NHL playoff action and looked ahead to tonight's matchups in the NBA & NHL. Plus, we discussed the Packers 2025 schedule. We talked about what's on TV tonight and had a great story about a cop that saved a dog's life and was able to adopt it after the owner never showed up to claim the pooch. It's "Hypothetical Thursday", and Brian's question for Jean was: "If you could get rid of one of the chores you do on a regular basis for the rest of your life, what chore would it be?" Meanwhile, Jean's question for Brian was: "What was the best year of your life?" Office Cora joined us to talk about what she's doing in the 715 this weekend and she also asked us a hypothetical question. It was: "If you could live in any country for one year, which one would you choose?" And in today's edition of "Bad News with Happy Music", we had stories about a guy who got his 20th OWI, a couple that ordered a Trump watch but got a Rump watch instead, a DoorDash delivery driver who scammed millions from the company, an absolutely WILD video of a woman towing her boyfriend's car down a highway, and a mom who was purchasing ammo & tactical gear for her son so he could commit a mass shooting event.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Are hidden money beliefs holding your business back? In this transformative episode, we uncover how financial anxiety might be the invisible barrier between you and the business you're meant to lead. In this powerful conversation, Lisa McGuire is joined by Brian Rump – a former commercial banker turned business coach, certified hypnotist, and expert in financial trauma. They dive deep into how inherited money stories shape our business decisions, why financial anxiety keeps entrepreneurs playing small, and the practical steps to rewrite your relationship with money from the inside out. If you've ever felt that knot in your stomach when talking about pricing, investing in your business, or making financial decisions, this episode offers the clarity and permission you need to transform fear into confidence. Key Takeaways Why every business problem is often a money problem in disguise How financial trauma gets passed down and shapes your business decisions without your awareness The surprising connection between marketing blocks and money fears Why shame around money is learned—and how to unlearn it How hypnosis can rewire deep-seated financial beliefs The freedom that comes from questioning "shoulds" in your business Why hustle culture formulas don't work for everyone The difference between having money and having financial confidence The stories you tell yourself about money aren't facts—they're just stories. And like any story, they can be rewritten. Awareness is your starting point, and from there, you can begin building a business—and a life—rooted in confidence, abundance, and truth. Don't stay stuck in outdated narratives. Rewrite your money story. Your future self will thank you.
