In Part Two of our series on Charlotte of Belgium (Empress Carlota of Mexico)… we wish we had better news. When we last left our neglected princess, she and her husband, Archduke Maximilian of Austria, had been approached by Napoleon III and offered the crown of Mexico. Charlotte—starved for purpose and convinced this is her destiny—is all in. Max is less sure, but with the blessing of Pope Pius IX, the new Emperor and Empress set sail for Mexico. Where the dream immediately implodes. What follows is one of the most tragic and debated breakdowns in royal history—and the fall of the Second Mexican Empire. We also draw parallels to one of our classic Queens Podcast episodes on Juana of Castile, another queen labeled “mad” and locked away. If this story leaves you thinking about power, politics, and madness, you can revisit Juana's story here. Cancer is a club you never want to belong to, but you find the most amazing people when you do. Erica Campbell has a group of women who bonded over their breast cancer journey. Together they know what it means to face illness head-on -- to confront mortality, search for strength, and build the resilience required to move forward. As a breast cancer survivor who also lost her mother to the disease, Erica speaks the 'vocabulary of cancer' from multiple perspectives. In her debut memoir, The Mastectomy I Always Wanted, she pairs honesty and vulnerability with practical, compassionate guidance for anyone navigating the mastectomy experience. You Are Not Alone At first it may feel like you are walking this path by yourself, but in time you will attract the people meant to support you and walk beside you. It may take a while, but some people care and want to help. Be intentional and rigorous in seeking out those you need. Knowledge is power, and community is contagious. Small Steps Create Hope "Sometimes during my journey, I allowed myself 24 hours to fully feel sadness or grief. After that, I made myself do anything that felt like the next right thing. Even tiny actions—brushing my hair, taking a walk around the block—gave me a sense of accomplishment. When self‑pity crept in, I quieted my mind and listened for the small inner voice guiding my next step. I learned that even the smallest amount of patience and progress can create hope." CLICK HERE TO BUY An instant Amazon Best Seller in Breast Cancer, General Women's Health, and Genetic Health! In this breast cancer book for women, Erica Neubert Campbell shares an intimate and encouraging story of her double mastectomy journey. This is a powerful companion guide for women navigating the choice to have a mastectomy or a lumpectomy. Empower yourself with this supportive resource to build trust and resilience–from the day you are diagnosed to the moment you realize: "I got this." Choosing a mastectomy is more than losing your original breasts. It is about the power of self-discovery, personal choice, and mindset. In this book, you will learn that removing fear is just as important as removing cancer. Women and caregivers will understand that a double mastectomy is an outer journey of physical change and an inner journey of mental strength. "Are you okay with seeing my breasts?" Before her double mastectomy, a friend showed Erica her reconstructed breasts—and it changed everything. This rare moment of vulnerability allowed Erica to visualize the future and shift to a more hopeful perspective. Erica now pays this act forward with a candid and uplifting portrait of the mastectomy journey. Whether you are making your choice following a breast cancer diagnosis or a discovery of the BRCA gene, this mastectomy memoir will encourage you to trust yourself, accept your new body, and build resilience through tough times. Caregivers will gain a deeper understanding of the emotions of the diagnosis that are otherwise hard to describe. In this resource, discover: Empowering mastectomy book for women recently diagnosed with breast cancer or carrying the BRCA gene Over fifty candid photos of the mastectomy recovery experience Honest and authentic emotions around the challenges of a breast cancer diagnosis Inspiration and tools for building strength in the double mastectomy journey Insights for breast cancer caregivers, family, and friends—granting them the power to support their loved one with compassion and understanding Erica Neubert Campbell, breast cancer survivor and longtime cancer advocate, shares this mastectomy memoir to provide healing and hope. Sleepy, tonight we walk that strange hallway that is not really there yet. I talk about not knowing, about the rooms we were never in, about my parents in a corridor that my mind keeps borrowing from my old school, and about how much of life is just guessing and filling in the gaps. There is destiny and no destiny, being 50 and in free fall, the old bullying scars and the golden moment when someone once wrote “I love Henrik” on a cafeteria wall. Somewhere in all of that, there is you in your own unseen room, and me in mine, trying to accept that we cannot control what happens, only what moves through us, while chaotic cow brains quietly listen to barbershop. Let this ramble be your little suitcase with the note that says “You are not under attack right now,” and let it keep you company as you drift off to sleep and into your own peaceful night.Sleep Tight!More about Henrik, click here: https://linktr.ee/Henrikstahl Hosted on Acast. Ever feel like you're doing everything right—checking all the boxes—but still end up stuck in the same patterns of frustration, anxiety, or overwhelm? In this episode, I break down why life feels so hard sometimes and how the way we see our challenges can either keep us trapped or set us free. We'll explore the difference between operating at ground level—where every problem feels like a crisis—and learning to rise above the chessboard to see the bigger picture. You'll learn:Why success alone doesn't bring lasting peaceHow ground-level thinking fuels drama and keeps you stuckThe empowering (but uncomfortable) truth about who's really in controlHow to shift from short-term comfort to long-term fulfillmentAnd why inner work is the key to navigating life's ups and downs without losing yourselfIf you're ready to stop reacting and start responding from a place of clarity and purpose, this episode will show you how.Send us a text message. We often tie celebration to big achievements, but what if it's really about the simple, intentional act of acknowledgment? We get honest about that sneaky little voice of jealousy that sometimes makes us withhold a high-five, and discuss why practicing celebration anyway—even when it's uncomfortable—is important. Celebration is contagious. It's intentional time set aside for honing in on someone—who they are or what they've accomplished—and it promotes a kind of magnetic joy. Curb Records artist Stars Go Dim released its fourth studio set, Roses, last month, which includes the self-penned track “Your Song,” which is dedicated to the fans. In the new album, Stars Go Dim discovers faith in the crevices of daily life across its latest collection, years in the making. Co-producing for the first time, Chris Cleveland embraces the genuine joy that comes from a slower pace and a different point of view on Roses. Exploring his dynamic range across the project's 11 original selections, the top-shelf singer chases a retro sound marinated in the groove-heavy beats of the '70s. From the jangly piano intro of lead single “Mama Don't Lie (Alright)” to the nostalgic emotional pull of closing track “Good Days,” the fresh LP blossoms with the hope that God is always waiting to be found. While Cleveland carefully handpicked a few seasoned lyricists to help him bring Roses to life, he also intentionally chose to collaborate with a large pool of relatively unknown songwriters for the majority of the project, giving many of the writers represented in the credits their first career cut.Addiotionally, to celebrate the eagerly anticipated premiere of Roses, Stars Go Dim made its Grand Ole Opry debut. Stepping into the coveted circle for the first time, Cleveland was joined by a star-studded lineup.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/arroe-collins-unplugged-totally-uncut--994165/support.

8am Hour 3 - Jeremy White and Joe DiBiase talk more about the Bills offense and what a good day looks like for their wide receivers. They also talk about what days like that mean for Josh Allen and the chemistry he has with his wide receivers.
Mike Johnson, Beau Morgan, and Ali Mac let you hear Atlanta Falcons Defensive Coordinator Jeff Ulbrich talk about the intensity the defense has been playing with so far during training camp, that intensity going a little too far yesterday and causing fights, and rookie James Pearce Jr. being in a few of those skirmishes. Mike, Beau, and Ali also react to what Coach Ulbrich had to say, and explain why they think James Pearce Jr.'s fights shouldn't overshadow the good days he's had at practice.
HR3 - Falcons' offense & defense having good days in training camp is ideal scenario In hour three Mike Johnson, Beau Morgan, and Ali Mac let listeners call in and ask them anything, including any and all of their Atlanta Falcons' training camp related questions in The Wake Up Call! Mike, Beau, and Ali also explain why James Pearce Jr.'s training camp fights, or any other fights that happen during Falcons' training camp won't cause any rifts within the team. Then, The Morning Shift crew continues to recap and react to the Atlanta Falcons' training camp practices over the weekend, give their biggest takeaways from the practices over the weekend, let you hear Falcons' General Manager Terry Fontenot talk about the Falcons' defense showing some turnover ability on Saturday, react to what Fontenot had to say, let you hear Falcons' Right Tackle Jake Matthews talk about how much he appreciates Jeff Ulbrich's aggressive style defense in training camp, react to what Jake had to say, and then explain why they think it's hard to gauge the team during training camp when the offense and the defense are facing off against each other. Mike, Beau, and Ali also let you hear Atlanta Falcons' Owner Arthur Blank explain why he's proud of Kirk Cousins, react to what Mr. Blank had to say, let you hear Falcons' General Manager Terry Fontenot talk about how Cousins has been the ultimate professional, and react to what Fontenot had to say as well. Then, The Morning Shift crew explains why they think the Falcons praising Kirk Cousins right now is their way of trying to sell him to other teams that might be interested in acquiring a quarterback. Finally, Mike, Beau, and Ali close out hour three by diving into the life of Beau “Squidbilly” Morgan in The Life of Squid!
In this conversation, I discusses the complexities of emotional abuse and its long-lasting effects on individuals. I am choosing to emphasize that there are no truly good days in emotionally abusive relationships, as the perceived good days are often manipulated by the abuser to control the victim's feelings and reactions. I explain the difference between emotions and feelings, and how emotional abusers use language and behavior to distort their victims' perceptions of their own feelings, leading to confusion and dependency.
Bobby starts with wondering whether the Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough deviled eggs sound good or not. We found out who won and lost the draft. Plus, we set new rules for our random letter drafts. A listener had a question if someone on the show started dipping. Bobby talked about this crazy story where police in California seized 21 children, including 17 toddlers, from a couple who allegedly had the children through a surrogacy operation they owned and are now facing child abuse charges. Bobby has the amount of good days that the average American has. We are shocked by how many good days he has per year. Eddie did the math and found out who got more airtime: Bobby and Eddie on Quarterback or Lunchbox on Jersey Shore.
