Sarah Bennetto is now an established comedian but, not so long ago, she was a lonely Australian trying - against the odds - to make a new life for herself in London. It wasn't easy. "Heroes find themselves in some pretty sticky situations at the start of a quest," she says. "What a shame that 'sticky' was, in my hostel's case, literal." In this witty and wise essay, Sarah shares her tips for starting a new life in a strange land. Recorded at the End of the Road music festival. Producer: Richard Knight.
The Boys Return to Latitude! In episode 8 of Cheap Show, Eli and Paul reminisce about their recent adventure at Latitude Festival and play clips from their time there with the hope to remember just what exactly happened. They argue over who forgot to bring the right props, the quality of food served at the festivals, the price of said food, the incredible heat, climbing trees when drunk, losing mobile phones, being inches away from dangling penises, the state of festival toilets, carefully constructing sentences, the marvels of technology, wi-fi hotspots and much much less... It bears mentioning that NOT ONCE do they talk about the cultural aspects of one of the UK's greatest music and arts festivals. It was THAT kind of festival. Paul and Eli would like to thank the following people for helping make their Latitude Festival experience so (barely) memorable. Mark Allen, Gavin Osbourne, Sarah Bennetto, The Story Beast, Richard Sandling, Matt Highton, Starbomb and Latitude Festival itself! Sarah Bennetto is a lucky lucky girl. She wins stuff. In this episode she talks us through how she does it. We skipped through songs about our names, to-do lists and mermen (the male equivalent of mermaid obviously). Sarah has a vast knowledge of all kinds of music from Billy Ocean to The Cure. I also learned that : "It's all about the weave".
